I would like some construction vehicles.In the modctions they focus on literal tanks without turrets or crappy little scrap IFV. Why not bulldozers, big tractors and all the rest. I'd take them over a sports car, because it means even when your surrounded by a horde your still relatively safe from zombies many metres above them.

There's burnt out LAVs and things everywhere, helicopter pads in the military medical centres just perfect for a heli that's had all the glass broken and otherwise been overlooked by so many that can't operate, refuel or even turn it on.All vehicles should be empty of gas, or siphoned long ago during early stages of the infection when there was just a collapse of society. However I prefer that there be more planes than heli's as that's whats more common.

NO. Why? Because hat takes some of the nice elements out of Day Zed. Sure, it'd be funny to see a convoy of guys on bikes riding down the highway like Tour de France, but having everyone spawn with a bike would probably cause alot of rashing on the server, just make vehicles easer to find and easier to repair. (Not every car is going to be broken down) Lol joking. Sorry if I offended anyone...

I'm going to copy and paste something I wrote in another thread a few hours ago. This is the system that I think could end some of the KOS behaviour. There is another way. I remember seeing a post somewhere about giving players skills. For example, a player could bandage so many people his medical skill levelled up, he could now bandage faster or get 2 uses out of 1 bandage or something. If someone repaired a lot of vehicles, their mechanical skill would level up, and they would now be able to take parts off of some vehicles and put them on others. However, the thing about these skills is that when you die, their all gone. Your character gets completely reset. This would increase the value of life as well as encourage people to group up with others who have valuable skills. Since killing them would erase their skills, it would be beneficial to keep them around, as least until your skills level. Nothing overpowered, like being able to blood bag 12 times with 1 bag. It would be limited of course, but I think it would work.

I apologize for any issues. I sent you a PM, pythonmsh. Side chat has been fixed. I don't give out locations or spawn in heli's. Admin island is there so my stuff is protected and I don't horde vehicles that aren't adjusted for in the DB. The player base is not negatively impacted by vehicles on the island. I didn't say the mod was stupid, I said calling it better than vanilla was stupid. It's not improved at all, they added a bunch of guns and skins that they didn't make, the same thing that breaking point did, and called it a whole new thing. Overwatch is mainly about pvp with all the new guns and the features like self blood bag that make player interaction less worth it. They haven't really done anything other then make it more interesting for pvp.. not to mention every server seems to have at least 300 vehicles on it. -

And I personally thinks the helicopters should be extremely tough (but not resistant against heavy machine gun caliber), with limited areas where you could take them down (say rear rotors, fuel tanks, main rotors. Or you could even try and shoot through gaps between the seats, which could potentially take the pilot out. There should be more explosives in the game though, for taking out vehicles. The Soviets even had a tree mounted 'anti-helicopter' mine, which basically detonates upon disturbance by a hovering helicopters. -
nope, there's no need for any sniper heavier than 7.62. Actually i dont think 7.62 snipers should be in the game, civillian scoped rifles seem more compatible to the game atmosphere. only crybabies want their portable canons back. Just make the vehicles (specially helicopters) less resistant to bullets.

Background Narrative No one knew who, where or when exactly “case zero” occurred. What we do know has been pieced together from our own recollections and tales from other survivors. Most people agree that the events started roughly around 5-6 months back; Russia had come under increasing international pressure for their involvement with the North Korea situation that had been escalating. Their support of the new head of State, Kim Jong Un was seen by many as a step back towards the days of the Cold War – especially as Jong Un had swore to “settle old debts” with the west, targetting the US specifically. Russia’s continued support and trading with North Korea, despite the international embargoes imposed, had been seen as many as a statement of intent. Rumours of weapons and technology trading between the countries had surfaced from the US based on alleged intelligence reports. More alarmingly there were also fears of a deal between the two states whereby the North Koreans were able to establish military bases all around the western boarders of Russia. The first reports the west heard were from those who were immigrants or had family or contacts back in Russia. Tales of “Moscow Rabies” that was affecting dogs became a conversation piece between small communities who had ties with the old country. They called it Moscow Rabies but it seemed the disease was actually only affecting the towns and villages to the north west of Moscow. It wasn't long before some of the news networks got hold of the story and began running it as a snipped story , placed on some obscure page between celebrity scandals or wedged in the 5 minute slot between the main stories of the day and the sports reviews - the latest unknown animal epidemic that was scary enough to alarm viewers and readers, yet far enough away not to seriously worry about. The sort of story you sit up and take notice of but quickly forget about and expect never to hear anything about again. No one outside of Russia was particularly concerned, no one seemed to care, the presumption being it would be quickly and quietly dealt with by the country who was rapidly turning their back on the western world. Days later a the first amateur photos and films showing footage of dogs with the disease began to surface and further developments and details of this new disease began to trickle through. Recorded cases of rabinous dogs attacking humans were confirmed and rumours of the disease being spread to humans also surfaced, although there was no actual confirmation of that; not until the disease hit the capital it’s self! Once there had been reported cases of humans carrying the disease the story became more and more newsworthy. It became a topic of conversation at most work places, coffee shops and bars across the country; just the latest sort of intriguing epidemic gossip that got people in the west talking in the same way the bird flu pandemic of 2009 did. It wasn’t long before Russia declared a state of emergency and closed down all of her borders and international airports. The bordering countries of Russia began preparing for a possible spread of the epidemic – but by this time it was too late. Suspected cases were already surfacing in Latvia, Belarus and the Ukraine. The virus was spreading and spreading alarmingly fast! Within a month the infection had spread throughout Russia and her neighbouring countries leading to it being declared officially a pandemic. The UN had despatched military and scientific teams to help maintain order, provide aid and rescue services as well as help with the study of the virus. The Red Cross and various other large aid organisations quickly shipped out personnel, food, water, clothing, temporary accommodation and medical supplies to counties hit in the region. As the situation rapidly escalated more military and scientific personnel from European countries such as The UK, Germany and France were sent to help with the masses of refugees heading west through Europe. The US also increased it’s presence in the region, moving a US fleet to the Baltic region tasked with supporting detachments of UN troops and remote regional forces. Their main role being to help establish aid and refugee camps whilst securing the various island communities in the Baltic sea. The theory was that these areas, being naturally isolated by the sea, would be a safe place to evacuate refugees to. Shipping in the region increased with many commercial cruise liners being commandeered or volunteered to be used to help with the hundreds of thousands of people who were evacuating the region. There were several reports of accidental collisions between the masses of generally uncoordinated feets, with many casualties. The islands of Taviana were one of the closest and more densely populated areas within the region. A group of five islands originally volcanic , with an estimated population of 2.3 million people, the various ports and local amenities attracted many tourists and visitors to the islands and not to mention it being the base of international oil drilling company, that used the islands to house some of it’s 25,000 employees. In addition to it’s indigenous population the islands had a significant Russian military presence there also, which had only increased as the pandemic had spread. Within three months of the pandemic the first case of Moscow Rabies, and the virus spread across a large area of Eastern Europe and already suspected cases being reported in places as far as Northern Asia, Northern Africa and even the mainland of the US and Canada. More details were reported about the disease, which appeared to be a man made neural virus that attacked the victims brain, spinal cord and nervous system. It appeared to be spread by body fluids and hibernation period appeared to between 24 and 48 hours. With symptoms starting out with coughing fits, flu like symptoms and escalating to severe fever, foaming at the mouth and erratic, aggressive behaviour. There were even reports of victims eating people, although this was never actually confirmed! It was around this time that the first reported case was confirmed in the southern regions of Taviana, occurring on the southern island in the tourist town of Blato. It was suspected refugees from Latvia had brought the virus to the island. Within days the entire southern region of the island had been engulfed with reports of Moscow Rabies among humans. Fear spread quicker than the virus, with residents and refugees heading north. Military personnel were scrambled to try and suppress the infected. Within days the infection had spread to the main island of Taviana. The military took drastic action with the decision being made to completely evacuate and quarantine the infected regions with a make shift boarder being drawn up across the rural area of the main island of Taviana. Military personnel were tasked with holding the boarder and preventing anyone from crossing it – they failed. Almost two weeks after the initial infection, all of the Taviana islands had been overrun with the infection. Six months down the line the virus has spread to every corner of the globe. It is believed that every country has succumb to the virus. No governments remain in control. All that is left are scattered survivors fighting for the remaining resources. Taviana is a desolate landscape, however it still has human activity! Survivors still remain in small pockets. Two main groups have been established; The Ravens and The Scorpions. Some smaller military groups are also still active in the region too as well as solitary survivors that wash ashore from various refugee ships that have run aground or been left adrift in the region. As a survivor of one such evacuation ship, you wash up on the southern coast of the Taviana shoreline with nothing more than a small bag, some basic first aid and the small calibre fire arm and seven rounds you have equipped yourself with for personal protection. Damage is not based on 'if it's a sniper rifle'. The DMR (otherwise M1A irl) shoots the same round as the SCAR (not the SCAR S) therefore they should have similar damage. Most sniper rifles (in the US military) are chambered for .308 which is what the M1A shoots. That round is slightly smaller then a Mosin Nagants round. A sniper doesn't need a .50... they need to be accurate. .50s are for extremely looooong distances (mountain to mountain shooting in Afghanistan) or for taking vehicles down. Stop complaining about damage when in real life a single shot to the leg with .308 isn't gonna kill you. (Unless it hits your large artery but even then it takes time to die)

END GAME If you're reading this, it's likely you might have read my other post about "End Game" were I discussed and analysed the current state of "End Game" in DayZ. If you haven't here's a link: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/145645-end-game/ Main Proposal: If you have read all or most of what I wrote it's likely you clicked a linking bringing you here; in-which case you will have read one of my suggestions. That above the northern most part of Chernarus; I think the developers should add a portion which is entirely procedurally generated. This would serve as a place; that would be completely different every time the data base was reset for an individual server. The point of this being it would create a new experience each time it was reset and stop DayZ from becoming stagnant; were everyone knows of the best places to loot and find and hide camps or vehicles. So what's the point of a procedurally generated or "PG zone" part of the map other than just to keep game-play fresh? This procedurally generated concept was the first part in a much more grand goal for "End Game" content in DayZ. Well if the PG Zone was it's own instance; it would allow you to do things just not possible or things in gaming that might be considered sin or heresy. The part about sin and heresy is probably gonna rub some people up the wrong way but remember it provides an out-let for other pieces of "End Game" content not possible in the rest of the game..plus you could always stick to vanilla DayZ and leave it alone but I think you'd really be missing out. Description Lets describe the PG Zone: The PG Zone would be mostly barren; mostly made up of tree's, mountains, wildlife, maybe a log cabin or two, oh and of course wondering Zombies. The reasoning for this will become more apparent later. Possibilities that come with instancing: If the PG Zone were to be in it's own instance; the server no-long has to run all of the systems used in standard DayZ or render all of the towns and cities in the map. So this then leave you with a larger allocation of computing power in-which to do other things. Possible with instancing What things; might you ask: Well Rockets previously stated that building above ground bases in standard map might just not be viable; as well as some technical constraints it may put on other parts of the game, even with 200+ kilometer squared there will eventually not be enough space to build bases and the one's that do exist will be well known and easy to find. Now Rocket has proposed a solution which also involves instancing but in his solution bases would exist underground away from the majority of players. Which I might add is still possible even with my suggestion; the difference being with my suggestion of an instance multiple players could set up above ground bases with limited performance hits and more space to expand. The Ultiamte End Game The bit about sin and heresy Taking things that would be wrong for Chernarus but that are right for a separate instance: This is the Ultimate END GAME were only the biggest most hardcore team focused groups can survive. If you've read one of my previous posts you might have came across this before and I think rightly so most people hated it. Though by making that post, it exposed the weaknesses of my suggestion; which are remedied with the choice of of being able to enter or leave an instance. That suggestion being as oppose to perma-death; I suggest perma-life. Oh no not this again What is perma-life: Essentially it means your character exists in the world; even when your away from it. This being in the form of a sleeping bag, tent whatever the developers use to represent you sleeping. Oh an you can be killed. Criticism: I understand not everyone can play a game 24/7; in fact i know of no-one who can. But of course this is the point; which is exactly why I said most hardcore groups. This is precisely why I refer to it as the Ultimate END GAME because if your groups fails, it really is game over; so this represents the ultimate challenge for any well organised team. The Challenge The ability to travel to this place and set up base camp comes with it's own benefits and risks: What's stopping you from leaving base and logging off back in the the Chernarus instance; well nothing. Except unlike Origins: bases will not be impervious to all but any attacks excluding when you've left your front door open. Of course maybe there'd be a requirement to gain entry to a fortified base; like maybe some types of tools but the base wouldn't be completely safe and it'd need a team big enough to maintain it. Plus if you leave the base back to southern Chernarus; part of the design of the PG Zone would cause you to lose all information you have about the lay of the land, in the barren mountainous regions of Chernarus. This means someone on your team needs to volunteer to stay behind and sleep at the base; where they'd be vulnerable, in order to guide you back to it. Thank you if you've made it this far; please leave me a comment. An please don't dismiss all of my suggestions just because of the perma-life stuff. Because by having a place to set up camp above ground, that's new after every data base reset; would be a leap in the design of DayZ. So please don't dismiss it out of hand.

As you can see its WIP and the texture has not been added yet... however the items you see attached, bullbar, metal panels, bigger tyres and window reinforcing can all be added this will be the fully upgraded version. would love to hear your guys thoughts for more additions more vehicles. please note this is just a screenshot from the modeler not actually in game

Most "good" hiding spots are very well known by experienced players and so naturally are the first place they look. 20 hours is way more than enough time for any spot to be discovered. And as for finding broken vehicles, you said yourself it took you 8 hours to fix up the offroad, just because others haven't fixed up and removed those other vehicles doesn't mean they haven't discovered them. in fact its usually more efficient to go searching for vehicles that others have already fixed and hidden, taking us back to my first point.

As I said afterwards, I found 2 different vehicles in their spawn points, and by now I found 5, each completly broken.. On this server there are about 10 people constantly and I don´t think that no one has found them yet.. And the car was so good hiden it would have taken longer even with a heli than 20 hours to find it..

Why do you assume its a server issue and not just a case of someone finding it and destroying it? Some servers were reporting vehicles/tents not saving, but not enough info was given to reproduce the issue, so they readded the save option as a backup. personally i never use it and have never had any problems.

Hi, I recently had someone help me out with installing my admin tools and we finally got them to work. Now the only problem is, there are no zombies spawning, and there's no loot. Vehicles and crash sites still spawn, but no Zeds or Loot anywhere. Here is my init.sqf: Is there anything wrong here?
