For now we have most likely 10 player who are actually staying on our server to play every day ! Of course its not a lot but that why we count on you to come and make this server works ! We are very friendly with everybody who want to talk or report something, our admins are present 18h a day, and for the 6 hours left there is still the TSW Anti-Hack working every time ! Another thing I want to add is the vehicles. Wtf are American humvees a doing over there? I'm sure they'd be guarding their own boarders and airports with their whole military instead of sending troops over to crash every five metres and clutter up the damn roads. Same with the hueys, what's wrong with Mi 17 or other soviet sort of heli's?

Hi guys! We've recently started an Overwatch server and would love to see the player base grow as we have a LOT to offer compared to the servers. Not only are you getting a nice, clean & fast server with low ping (especially for you guys in the UK), but we have all the latest Anti-hack tools so your DayZ experience is never broken! If there was a topic like that, then Im sorry. Probably didnt search to well. So I was thinking about adding random nature phenomenons. Hail: Suddenly balls of ice start falling from the sky, breaking glasses in vehicles or even a chance of stunning you. Tornado:not much to explain I think. Appears, travels certain distance doing what tornados do, and then dissapears. You could hide underground or in the buildings. Flood: if there was a river on the map, that would have more sense. So in say, period of 2 hours, certain area gets covered in water. Impossible to get loot there, vehicles get destroyed. Earth quake:ground shaking, cracking buildings, roads. These are just misty ideas, all to change, open for suggestions. So, what do you think? Well, having seen Deans latest comments on it it's likely we'll see some sort of restricted or context sensitive 3rd person view. If they can do that well then that's good enough for me. There's 2 pages of this discussion purely about vehicles. Well, I don't really care about vehicles, they are not a massive part of the game and allowing 3rd person view in them doesn't suddenly give you magical abilities in a PVP situation. For me the 1 very reason to restrict or remove 3rd person is the way it's used as an exploit. Yes I know everyone can use it so it's not "unfair", that's not the point. The point is if I can just stand beside a tall wall without a care in the world and scan a whole area for other players by looking over it or lie on a roof basically being invisible because the cam allows me to use a magical periscope to scan the surrounding area it just detracts massively from the game. Go and watch any popular YTer play DayZ. Frequently you'll see them lie on a roof, spinning the cam around like a mystical all seeing God and then only actually exposing themselves to take a shot at someone. Well that's bollocks. To look over the edge of a building you should have to poke your head over. The same applies to looking around corners. If people can't see the MASSIVE tactical difference between the two then I'm lost for words. When you have to actually physically look over/around walls etc in 1st person view firefights suddenly become way more tense. Edit -@ Anubis Again - It's nothing to do with realism, as I said earlier, it actually improves gameplay believe it or not. Anyhoo, I do believe a restricted or context sensitive 3rd person view could be the answer. I'm personally in favour of removing as much choice as possible from server admins. We should leave all of that to the mods.

Greatest weapon ever.. Even destroys vehicles in a couple swipes.

Sounds like you are after vanilla DayZ. Trudging through the detritus of 1000 vehicles, custom loadout servers is the bane of DayZ at the moment.

First person vehicle views have to improve dramatically before I'll use them routinely, as they are clumsy immersion breakers. The recreation of vehicle interiors ... from a static viewpoint ... are complete nonsense in relation to real visibility from inside a vehicle. A system of player camera movement, or compensation for the lack of one, is required to recreate the visual mobility taken for granted by vehicle operators and utterly ignored by game designers. Free look goes some way to meet the need in ArmA, but still doesn't manage to imitate or compensate for the real ability to shift viewpoint around obstacles such as windscreen pillars by planar head movement rather than just rotational. Head bob and vehicle view shake are utterly unrealistic. The human body has an amazingly complex and effective system for stabilisation of the head and eyes. Head bob is one of those game design elements that just became trendy and falsely touted, then accepted as "realistic", when it is anything but. The ArmA ridden vehicle view shake is also utter nonsense, again because of the fixed position player camera with no compensatory consideration. Head bob can be turned off, which I do, but vehicle shake is a frustratingly unrealistic constant. I would like to see third person views removed, but don't consider the half-arsed implementation of first person views still inherent in games like the ArmA series fit for purpose to do so for vehicles. Nothing has really changed in this respect in over a decade, from the likes of OFP and BF1942 until now. Sure, the resolution of images has increased and a bunch of cliched and unrealistic gimmick features have hung around like a bad smell ... head bob ... HDR bloom ... motion blur ... ad nauseum. Oh ... and on a Michael Bay note, driving in first person also removes any defence against instant Hollywood death by explosion when colliding with a melon sized rock, or log, or runway light, or any other chicken sized collision mesh bearing statics ... you get the idea.

Arcade style games are strictly for having fun. Simulator style games are about recreating an experience in all possible aspects, including the struggle and un-fun elements. Sure there will always have to be a compromise, but 3rd person represents an unnecessary compromise which encourages people to hide behind things and never expose themselves. In the end there is no good reason to have it, other than to pander to gamers who really aren't interested in the style of game DayZ has been stated to be by Rocket himself. Furthermore there is no need to have it in vehicles, would be nice to have working mirrors, but this alone is not a good enough justification for super-human visual ability.

- Get loot and get inland fast - Avoid hotspots if possible - Scan all clearings/treelines - Learn all portions of the map - Trust no-one (this doesn't mean shoot everything that moves, if you can escape un-noticed, then do so) - Live off the land (i.e. water bottle, and animals) - Make every shot count. - Look both ways before crossing the road. I've been playing on the public hive again, and have started a "hermit" playstyle Upon spawn, I've been gathering necessary materials, and moving inland. From there, I've been sticking to the forest and work my way north, looting small towns that most players pass over. I've also been skipping using map markers, and just eye balling my way to my destination following roads, ridgelines, treelines, valleys, etc. This has resulted in me finding quite a few vehicles and tents, most of which had decent quality gear. You're right, but that fully depends on what kind of bastardized DayZ you're playing. There are servers out there that are very much like other FPS's. Personally I am strictly a vanilla DayZ player, but in the past I have dabbled in other private hives where you start with everything you could ever really want and there's 217,103 vehicles. I just play the way I want to play, everyone else can do whatever they want. It just seems to me there are better avenues to get your deathmatch fix if that's your thing. Not saying "you" as in you, SteveLord... just in general.
