I'm with a group BloodBath and Beyond, which seems to fit exactly what you want. We usually play with anywhere from 3-8 people (only go 6+ for large scale operations...like mechanized NWAF take overs). We are extremely aggressive, bloodthirsty, and crafty. We have multiple camps across multiple servers, and multiple vehicles across multiple servers. We're a chill group of guys, median age around 20. We're looking for mature players, not 14 year old squeaky, trigger happy bambis. We play breaking point almost exclusively, and when we're on our A game? We take out 5-6 man squads without even one casualty. The average member skill level...is fairly high - we expect that. If you show that your gun skills are on par with other gun stars, and you show that you're good to have in a firefight - you'll move up the ranks pretty quickly. RAMBO EVENT Once I can make sure that I will be online for a certain evening we will trial a "Rambo Event". 30 mins - 1hr duration Possible custom loadout Extra Vehicle spawns on the coast Go Crazy! The server will then be "Rolled Back" to before the event started once it ends so that player's load-out / vehicles / tents are not affected. NEW Server - Order of the Green Dragon Epoch DayZ Server - Featuring AI, protected Clan bases

The Order of the Green Dragon multi-gaming community is now hosting our own DayZ Epoch server. We are mature, friendly community that welcomes both friendly players as well as bandits - note we do not welcome douchebags or those who are only playing to grief others. This is a brand new server that has only been set up in the last week, but we have experience admin'ing servers before. We also welcome clans or groups of friends to join us - if you have at least 5 members you can apply for a "protected zone" to establish a base where other players can't come in and loot all your hard earned gear. This isn't to discourage banditry though - we just prefer that bandits actually have to kill people to take their stuff instead of waiting til people are offline. For the lone wolfs out there - you can still be a lone wolf, but team up with others so you can get the same type of protection. Our rules are fairly simple - things like don't be a douchebag or cause issues (there is no side chat so this hopefully should be minimized anyways), don't hack, don't camp fresh spawns, etc. If you're interested in trying us out, just visit our website and submit an application to be whitelisted. Our Custom Features AI - this includes Bandit, Soldier and Civilians - both on the ground and flying choppers Protected Zones for Clans - have at least 5 members? You can apply to have your own protected zone where people not on the "list" of approved people will be killed if they stay within your camp. Full Moon nights - no more completely dark nights (as long as the weather isn't too bad) Shorter Day / Night cycle - 4 hours of Day, 2 hours of Night Standard Epoch Features Kill Message Board - Each Trader City contains a Kill Message Board that lists all the kills/deaths in the server since the last restart. Crafting System - Ability to craft certain items Smelting System - Ability to smelt certain metals from readily available materials Currency System - Gold, Silver, Copper, Tin and Aluminum Bars Dynamic Road Debris System - DayZ debris system replaced by random vehicle wrecks and debris that spawn on roads with loot. Dynamic Vehicle Spawn System - DayZ fixed vehicle spawns replaced with random vehicle spawns anywhere near buildings or roads throughout the map. Base Building System - Placeable Barriers, Fences and Gates (difficult to remove) Tag Friendly Players - Get a visual identifier for those you have made friends with. Salvage Parts - Remove wheels and window glass from vehicles. The higher the damage to the part the higher the chance the part will break and be destroyed. Siphon Fuel - Fill Empty Jerry Cans on vehicles if they have enough fuel. Personal Safe - Owner lockable storage tied to CD-Key. NPC Traders (note: Players at -2000 or less Humanity will not be able to deal directly with most NPC Traders) Weapons Traders Sidearms, Shotguns and Crossbow, Rifles, Assault Rifles, Machine Guns, Sniper Rifles. Parts Traders Auto Parts, Building Supplies, Explosives. Can Traders Canned food, Drinks, Toolbelt items, Backpacks, Clothing. Ammo traders Ammo for all types of guns. Auto Traders - Cars, Trucks (Unarmed), SUV, Buses and Vans, Offroad, Helicopter (Unarmed), Military (Unarmed), Trucks (Armed), Utility, Fuel Trucks, Heavy Armor Unarmed, Helicopter (Armed), Military (Armed). With all the donations some of these servers get there should be admin support 24/7 or damn near to it. they should act professional and only admin; not participating in play. Instead you get admins who half ass it and cheat their players for their own entertainment. I have seen admins horde vehicles, provide information to their clans/friends/etc. I could go on but I wont. The TRUE reason a lot of servers aren't full is because admins do not understand how to protect and enforce integrity of their servers. This isn't always the case though as most popular servers at the moment provide shitty load outs, scripts, loot and rule sets to go along with poor administration. -

I feel like the OP has good intentions but maybe this method isn't the best way of handling the problem. A lot of times i feel like having the ATOC turned off helps a lot gameplay-wise, but looks like complete shit. It also makes it way too easy to spot camps and vehicles while airborne. If there was a way to make it so that turning down something like ATOC or object detail didn't make it easier to see things at a distance, I'd be all for it. I would also be fine with having the settings lower so everyone could run it easily, but fixed at a lower setting. I mean, there are some things that really shouldn't be optional. For example, did you know that with Post-Processing on, when you are in pain, your vision goes all blurry? That either should be forced or not in the game at all. With effects that would change and benefit players depending on whether or not you experience them, it shouldn't really be optional. Gamma and brightness is another thing, that kind of ruins the point of night gameplay in general. I remember before I knew about the Gamma slider, I was running around in pitch black with only a narrow beam of light to guide me and no idea where I was going. I miss being able to do that without thinking 'Why am I bothering to do this, I can't see shit without my gamma jacked up'. TL;DR: We shouldn't force the graphics settings to be higher because that would be unfair to lower-end PC users, but we should have graphical settings that affect gameplay be more consistent across different settings. Oh, and an option to turn off just motion blur would be cool too. -

Origins Mod GX Pirates, Kazna server. (whitelist, PVE, donation required) really friendly bunch, and PvE with AI NPCs to keep you on your toes. LAB DayZ UK basebuilding auto refuel Pve/PvP nice admin, quiet server, lots of vehicles to go exploring and find your feet. Actually most of the servers have friendly admins when they are online, and there's helpful people if you say hello and tell em you are new you'll be surprised how people like to help out.

well the spawns are random on the coast always, so it might take you some time to meet up with your friend unless he has a vehicle. so you might want to think about playing some of the servers that have a lot of vehicles, there are quite a few. or you might want to try the Origins Mod where you get a choice of places to spawn that will often put you a lot nearer your friend. -
Ammunition is a core front of any weapon particulary firearms, but it got me thinking, why is it that in DayZ itself only shotguns and grenade launcher recieve such a dramatic benefit. While shotguns are certainly under-used in DayZ, even more so with Grenade Launchers (largely in part to their rarity) only these weapons recieve alternate ammo for them. Alot of the ideas where somewhat inspired while playing Fallout: New Vegas, which has some interesting ammunition mechanics. Instead here's what I propose: (BE WARNED LOTS OF TEXT!) Ammunition Types Something to consider was the idea of ammunition types, in this essence it's the same ammo but of a different type (by no means is it "alternate ammo"). To express my point is the idea of Military Ammo versus Civilian Ammo. A .223 Round is the same as the 5,56x45 NATO, but a .223 is often coined as being a civilian round because of its drop in power compared to military spec 5,56 NATO. However it has been proven that some military weapons can interchange between these two types. An M16 for example, can fire both civilian power .223 rounds in addition to military spec 5,56 NATO rounds. However this has been told that it's not exactly a safe practice when used with Civilian weapons that can also take .223 rounds as firing military issue 5,56 NATO can cause malfunctions and a number of safety related issues. Similar rounds are the .308 Winchester is the same as the 7,62x51 NATO, the difference again being a drop in power and penetration for the .308 compared the 7,62 NATO. The .357 Magnum is derived from the .38 Special and the .44 Magnum is derived from the .44 Special. Weapons that can fire .357 or .44 Magnum can also fire their Special cousins for weaker damage. Alternate Ammo We've seen the alternate ammo on the shotguns and grenade launchers, but why stop there? Why not have a little bit more in terms of ammunition variety. Some examples: Common Ammo types: Round Nose - Commonly used in large caliber Hunting Rifles (CZ-550), designed to give moderate expansion with high stopping power and accuracy but lacking penetration of hard materials, also used in some pistols too (possibly the standard round used for all handguns). Hollow Point - Common amongest Pistols and Sub-Machine guns but also used for civilian Hunting rifles. Inflicts high damage on unarmored targets but lacks penetration against hard targets (HP pistol rounds will not penetrate body armor, Hollow Point rilfe rounds will penetrate armor but have a severe reduction in damage delt, cannot penetrate hard surfaces such as metal or stone) Soft Point - A combination of a Hollow Point with a round nose type, using a plastic tip. Penetrates thin materials and can also penetrate body armor with limited effective. (SP Pistol rounds can penetrate body armor but behave similarly to HP rifle rounds, SP rifle rounds have an increased penetration and damage to armored targets and light cover) FMJ - Commonly used in Military Weapons (the standard round type for all Military weapons). Designed to aid in penetration of materials and body armor while lacking in terms of expansion (high AP but low damage). Exists for military .9mm weapons as well (M9, MP5A5, MP5SD6) Sub-Sonic - Low Power rounds used for Suppressed weapons. Extremely rare and limited to .9mm and .308/7,62(Same as the SD rounds used in the Mod) Armor Peircing - Directly designed to peirce armor and materials, extremely rare military issue ammunition. (Offers high armor peircing benefits against most forms of cover and can pierce military issue vehicles fairly well, still only offers marginal damage to unarmored targets) Surplus - Dated or old rounds which have become corrosive, (pretty much should be the standard ammo for everything in residental, farm or hunting loot spawns). Damages the weapon internally and causes frequent jams and malfunctions. Unique Alternate Ammo 9mm & .45 ACP +P - Exists primarily with .9mm and .45 ACP, increases penetration of light materials, improves range (because of the high velocity) and stopping power at the chance of increased recoil and possible damage to the weapon resulting in misfires, malfunctions and jams. Exists for 9x18mm (Makarov), 9x19mm (G17, M9, PDW) and .45 ACP (Revolver, M1911) Hydra Shok - Exists with .9mm and .45 ACP. Teflon coated hollow point bullets which aid in both expansion and penetration. Very rare ammunition type. (Similar in function to SP bullets but with far more increased damage and penetration). Exists for 9x19mm (G17, M9, PDW) and .45 ACP (Revolver, M1911). Super - Only available with .45 ACP. Longer case filled with a more powerful propellant. Increases damage and range as well as velocity of the round but increases recoil and can damage the gun with use. .357 Magnum/.44 Magnum Flat Point - Flat Point round commonly used in lever action rifles. Behaves similar to a Hollow Point but has increased knockdown power at the expense of penetration and expansion. Semi-Wadcutter - Used for shooting paper targets and hunting. Behaves similar to a Round Nose, offers increased stopping power at the expense of penetration of hard targets. .38 Special - Parent round that the .357 Magnum was designed off. Has similar look to the .357 Magnum but with a shorter case. Delievers less damage and stopping power but at the expense of less wear and tear on the weapon and less recoil. .44 Special - Parent round that the .44 Magnum was designed off. Has similar look to the .44 Magnum but with a shorter case. Delievers less damage and stopping power but at the expense of less wear and tear on the weapon and less recoil. .223/5,56 NATO & .308/7,62 NATO Match - Match Rounds designed for Accuracy. Improves accuracy of the weapon from longer ranges when fired but offers reduced damage, stopping power and less wear on weapon. Tracer - Largely designed for Machine Guns, fires a streaked bullet. Offers similar performance to an AP round but fires a visible bullet which can be tracked by the shooter and its oppenants. Shotgun Ammo Birdshot - Shotgun ammo used for the hunting of birds and small game (rabbits, chickens, birds), fires anywhere between 70 to 100 pellets. Lowest damage shotgun round with a large spread designed for shooting birds mid-flight. Most common shotgun round. Buckshot - Shotgun ammo used for hunting intermediate game at close range, also used for defensive and combat shotguns for police and Military. Fires 8-9 pellets and offers the highest damage at close range (similar to what we have now) Slug - Fires a single solid lead slug which has high penetration and stopping power with a chance of knocking someone out on hit. (Same as we have now) Magnum Birdshot/Buckshot/Slug - More powerful version of standard Birdshot, Buckshot and Slug. Increases recoil and damage to the weapon however. Flechette - Fires several tiny steel darts which aid in penetration but lack stopping power and damage. Bean Bag - Commonly used by Police Forces as a less lethal weapon. Inflicts the Pain status effect on hit and can knockout the target. Rock Salt - Commonly used by Farmers to ward off intruders. Fires several cube shaped pellets of rock salt. Inflicts a severe pain effect on a successful hit and is required to remove the salt pellets to cure. Incendiary (Dragons Breath) - Shotgun round loaded with magnesium and Zinc pellets which fires a gout of flame. Short ranged and doesn't penetrate well but does fire damage to anyone within 30-40 feet of the user. Home-Made - Home-made shotgun rounds (possible crafting recipe) which allows players to make improvised slugs, flechettes or buckshot rounds using scrap materials. Flare - 12 Gauge flares commonly used in signal pistols. Fires a bright red flare. Grenade Launcher Ammo (Very Rare) HE - High Explosive grenade, detonates on impact with a small blast area FRAG - Fragmentation Explosive grenade, detonates on impact with a large blast area Smoke - Smoke Grenade, detonates on impact but leaves a trail of smoke behind the round after 40m. Direct hit will kill a target, delievers different coloured smoke Tear Gas - Riot-Control grenade, detonates on impact but leaves a train of white gas after 40m. Causes temporary blindness and blurryness. Baton - Riot control grenade, fires a large 40mm plastic or rubber round. Causes instant knock out on hit but only minimal damage. Flare - Fires a different coloured flare. A direct hit will cause severe damage. Crossbow Ammo Wooden Bolt - A craftable wooden bolt which has an 80% chance to break on impact. Can be made from a pile of wooden. Steel Bolt - Default Steel bolt, 100% chance of recovery but cannot be crafted. Improvised Bolt - Improvised bolt crafted from scrap metal pieces. Effects the accuracy of the bolt when fired. Chemlight Bolt - A steel or wooden bolt which has a chemlight tied to it. Flare Bolt - A steel or wooden bolt which a flare tied to it. Fire Bolt - A steel bolt which has a fuel soaked rag on the tip, is lit and fired. Causes burn damage on targets and brief light source. We keep getting offers to help fund our Hatchet Reloaded server but we just point blank refuse. It is our choice to pay for it, We do it so people can have a genuine place where Admin abuse and losses due to hackers isn't an issue as we will just replace lost gear if it's a genuine loss due to script kiddies. Obviously we spawn ourselves vehicles but it's only when we are on Admin duties and we make sure everyone knows when this is going on :thumbsup: Lets hope the SA is well moderated and prior to it's release we get more Servers with responsible admins. -
Only offical servers, only admin'd by offical staff who's job it is to admin, and who do not play the game as an admin. sick of joining servers with admin telling people where I am, or telling their friends were vehicles are, or spawning in loadouts for themselves or people that give them money, this is not dayz.. the problem for me isn't the hackers its just the servers and the server admin.

I must admit, on a whim - we've found a much better host for the Origins server, and are planning to set up a 30Slot trial today, its already installing! So our final 'loadout' of servers will be UK#1 - 90 Vehicles + 4 Helis UK#2 - Vanilla as above UK#3 - Origins and Braincraft.co.uk (Our Minecraft server) All of which have been spawned from the community of DayZ, many thanks to everyone involved!

I just finished my first week of playing dayz, i had never played before and I spent the entire week joining and playing on several of the numerous offical and unoffical servers familiarizing myself with the game and what goes on, I have become completely dissatisfied, with my experience thus far.I found it hard to find a server I enjoyed because of things like The admin abuse, game mechanics ruined by custom anti hacking measures or by hacking, admin scripting, custom loadouts, server custom map changes, admin revealing my location to their friends via admin map, admin spawning in items for themselves or friends, and futher igornace of the obnoxiousness of batteye spamming the side-chat and ruining my dayz experience, and I have come up with a solution: to Create a server that I always wanted to play on. Let me describe it. First I would put the player population to 100 No custom server banner, just simply the black dayz logo custom join screen, (does not show lobby, simply joins game, and spawns in player,) black out the lobby information, bluefor information, and everything in the lobby in general, new players would spawn in a randomly chosen location in air and parachute in. server name would just be DAYZ I would use a program to automatically admin the server. something like TSW anti hack tool. disable battleye no cd key required all global and side chat would be disabled, direct chat only, voice or type, custom chat featured and added radio object that would allow player to tune to a frequency and voice or text to players on that frequency. no kicking or banning players - other measures would be taken, to get to the problem script scan tool would disable scripts or injectors instead of ban or kick player, it would just simply disable whatever they are trying to add in, or spawn in, or teleport, guns that are not allowed would simply be removed from inventory or world (helicopter crashes) upon spawn. world would be recustomized to allow every building enterable or adding items that spawn all over map. loot spawns would be realistic, to location and realsiticly placed, vehicles could have parts removed, or added via toolbox vehicles can be auto refuled at either the gas pump, fuel dump, fuel station, farm gas, auto refuel works by mouse wheel vehicle to [re-fuel] when next to one of the above, zombies animation slowed down, zombies do not run past players and then stop and turn around to attack player, zombies no longer flail around, quickly moving around between crouch and stand, or crawl or stand, or even just make one zombie animation for only standing, slow walking, zombies that easily detect player and slowly start to gather towards players, and move in Hordes, zombies requiring headshots for single bullet kill or killed by shooting numerous times zombie damage to players rarely causes bleeding, or knock outs, unless player is sick, or very hurt, backpack and inventory increased, to allow multiple primary weapons max of 2, One inventory, backpacks simply add slots to primary inventory, no longer put items in backpack or on person, simply just have an general inventory count that can be removed or added to, all items take one inventory slot, this will prevent items from being destoryed when added to inventory, inventory can be accessed by other players, just like backpack could have been before players would never be kicked or banned, other measures would be taken hackers teleporting would result in player death, or simply disabled teleport via script the only text that would display in sidechat is, [player has died] zombie animations slowed down The hud would contain only the generic functions, will not display server [insert] towing enabled but improved part smelting enabled, more vehicle types added, world improved to create more realistic world and loot spawn locations, world time would be 4 day night cycles within the amount of time of one real world day.. weather would be variable I wanted to create a server that would implement all of my favorite functions I have come across playing the different modifications of dayz. I am here looking for help to either have someone convert there server over to this style, or help me create one from scratch, experience with scripting to add in some of these features, and modify files to all the functionality. To create a better dayz..and dayz experience.
