This server is hosted in Germany because we have gone with a company which allows for amazing flexibility for us to make changes that make the experience better for you !, but this is still a server run by professional admins based in the United Kingdom who are all over the age of 18 and have had extensive server hosting experience and server development skills. We have setup our server so people can skydive from heli's/planes, this is great for stealth when raiding bases, you can fly at any height and your team can skydive down to a base and control the dive meanwhile open parachute at anytime and land in their base or near their base for an effective raid ! GPS runs off battery and the GP satellites are completely self sufficient.isn't really a necessary piece of equipment for anybody that knows the map half well and also knows how to read a map and contour lines. I personally go just fine without a GPS I would rather have it for vehicles and also in vehicles first person view showing a gta waypoint like applejax said.

If vehicles are not saving then its an issue with the server, you should contact the admin.

Im with you completely Esolu...I love the game as it was in vanilla form. I don't like big weapons and easy travel and things that make the game basically the opposite of what it was about. Do you remember what drew you to the game in the original days? I remember reading about it, about seeing videos on YouTube, about how hard it was to survive a few minutes to a few hours, if you were good. Now people can survive (like my previous character) for over a year if you know the ropes. This game was designed for people to barely be able to survive. To keep you on your toes, to have no advantage ever, or if you did it was quickly taken away by a greedy bandit who wants what you've worked so hard for. The SA will hopefully go back to that a bit, with more stability and complex game play. But I started playing Epoch (my first mod other than vanilla itself since DayZ came out) a few days ago. Tonight was my first hour or two in it. I so far have noticed nothing different but the huge well built base (that I cannot break into lol). But the reason I joined an Epoch server was to do something different, for now. I will gladly give up the easy ways of DayZ and start all over for the SA. But I like vehicles because 1. Im a car guy. I just love the ownership and maintenance, the quick drives, loot, drive off kind of feeling. and 2. because its (supposed to be) a rare perk in the game and when you get one you feel empowered. Everyone wants what you now have and will literally kill for it. But when hordes are roaming the country side and not just towns anymore, vehicles will be even more important. You'll have to watch your back in the woods and at night when you could normally at least travel by foot unharmed until you got close to a town. I just hope its as fun as the initial DayZ and we all know it was bugged to hell. But I still enjoyed the piss out of it at first. I came back after a long stint of no DayZ and am so confused with allllllllll the damn mods available. Ive yet to look into any other than Epoch. And probably wont. -
Sounds like you might want a firehouse. Has 3 big doors you can fit most vehicles in (although not a bus probably) and tower you can go up in and shoot outside from. You can also sort of glitch from inside to tower to the roof, however you have to take the ladder on the side back down. The roof is also big enough to land a heli on, just gotta be careful. On Chenarus there's 2 in Elektro, 1 in Cherno, and 1 at NWAF, however since you're running your own server, you could probably plop one down wherever you want.

Who are we? We are a DayZ team that specializes in one thing, destruction (primarily explosions). We know the ins and outs to base destruction, base infiltration, vehicle destruction, and emotional breaking points. We consider ourselves heroes, who wipe Chernarus clean of anything that resembles the following: - Bases that house and/or assist large clans operating through Chernarus - Ugly Bases - Poorly placed bases - Any and all vehicles - Any and all whom oppose us or are not in current communication with us. Can I hire the Cleanup Crew? Of course! The Cleanup Crew is highly specialized in infiltrating any base, no matter how impenetrable it may seem, and destroying it from the inside out. We don't have any set prices, as cost differs for every job. We also don't have a specific currency, however we would be willing to deal in the following: - Gold - High grade weaponry - High grade vehicles (land and air) [ammo for these is also welcome] - Explosives We will also discuss how the payments will be made, and at what time they will be made. We might be willing to trade for other things, but that will have to be discussed between us, and our current client. Conditions: We have the right to do any of the following: - Refuse any job for any reason - Halt any job in progress for any reason (any payments will be refunded in full -except for any used payment-) {any new conditions will be added} Our Playstyle? Awesome. I guess since there aren't many zombies near barns, (sadly though if makes sence) maybe I would set up a base using the tops of buildings or something like that. Are there military bases or, maybe even better, parking complexes I could clear out? It would be wicked to have the first level or two boarded up, have different levels for storage or vehicles, and have a helipad on the roof :)

I know that at first we will get pub hives, but will we ever get private hives? I think that plain ones are good.. not with 10000 vehicles spawn with DMR ect. Will we get priv hives at all?

When the SA is released, I'm driving my truck into Cherno with all of my public-hive gear in it (which, actually, will probably take 3-4 vehicles; I have a lot of tents), I'm going to walk my happy ass to the top of the under-construction building, and start sniping. Whoever kills me gets to spend the rest of their time in the mod with all my stuff.

You mean all this time there was vehicles? On a serious note, you don't find vehicles in Vanilla servers, and if you do, they don't work. I think all these servers with +vehicles, self bloodbags, mods like Epoch, etc., have spoiled these kids rotten. They don't know what it's like to actually work for gear and survival. Be a man, play Vanilla. Stop worrying about cars in a game where cars were supposed to be a huge rarity already. -
Now I do not want to sound demanding these are just my considerations I do realize that I might not understand how large the undertakings are for some of these things. 1. I would love to see some of the large open "debug land" be scaled back into the northwest corner of the map a bit, increasing the amount of ocean area. Put islands on the map and a whole slew of maritime vehicles and equipment. place one of those new cargo ships under water, make it a dive site. (perhaps even arma 3 as well eh?) Add in swimming and scuba diving mechanics. Allow for boarding other ships and all that. oh man DayZ piracy!!! Revamp namalsk and utes or create new islands that are way far out from land. and items that come from the sea. We have already heard about the wildlife ideas and seen them in arma 2 and 3. It must be so much work but how cool would be to have hundreds of animals and sea life. Plants and consumable and poisonous plant life. 2. Please leave the weapons lowered at default and must be raised to use please!!!! 3. We need burning damage and fire. I realize this must be a massive undertaking but it would be a huge difference. 4. I heard there might be cannibalism I hope this is true.... 5. Be able to sit in chairs, lay in beds and have fires in fireplaces and what not.

Hi, Polvermorta, welcome to the forums. H3 gives a pretty good explanation above. Some servers are linked so when you join any of them you have the same character in the same place with the same stuff, and as you do stuff all the servers on that "hive" save your information to the same database. Whereas some servers are individual or part of private hives and you will have a different character on each of those, or across any shared ones. Basic dayzmod maps are called Chernarus. There are other mods such as Epoch and Overwatch (my personal favourite because it has lots of loots, weapons and vehicles to collect.) There are many others too. I suggest you experiment. Make sure download the relevant versions of updates and check on dayz commander to ensure you have the right one for the servers you want to try. I won't say which ones I prefer or I'll end up with another post being hidden. Good luck and ask if you have more questions. :thumbsup: -

Hmm, what do you guys think? I've been playing dayz on and off for around a year now and want to try an interesting experiment. I want to start a survivor group and do the usual things survivors do ie gather weapons, vehicles, survive, start campsite, etc and play the game as a group normally would. However, as a twist I'd like to introduce permadeath into our group. Basically, we all get decently equipped as we spawn. Once we leave the coast the game is on. If someone in the group dies from legit means (not hacker or glitch) the person is dead. Like they're off the group, they're must leave the server. It might sound harsh but I'm intending it as a social experiment. The sense of loss and desire for members to survive will theoretically be greatly increased this way. only ingame voice. Have a meeting place somewhere, the ones who make it at a specific time are awesome and will start the story there. Or you know be losers and use skype or something.. I will give it a day or two for everyone wanting to join up to massage me, I will then make a skype group/chat from everyone wanting to play. from there we can discuss details! Would also be fun to write down, record everyone's last words!

1. You are off on the "Two Year Deadline." Last year they had talked about releasing DayZ as a stand alone and in doing so meant packaging the mod into a bundle with all the ARMA II code. At some point they changed the focus of that and instead decided that as along as it was going to be independent of ARMA II they might as well fix a bunch of things that bother them and us. User interface, animations, zombie pathing, scripts/cheats and such. These were all limitations from ARMA II. From that point it has been about a year of work so for them to have anything playable in that time, even minus vehicles, would be really good solid work. 2. They are starting the vehicles from scratch because ARMA II vehicles are a bit hashed. They work "well enough" but again this is one of those areas they think they can improve upon. So they are. 3. They are adding a lot of systems to the game, ones that specifically deal with the player and their avatar. New gear systems, weapon attachments, medical systems, animations, new actions, and such. That is the focus, not vehicles. Vehicles are something nice but not needed for the DayZ experience. They are something that can wait. Heck, most of us playing Vanilla don't see a working vehicle except passing us on the the road while we slip into the trees and debate if we will need to shoot it or not. -
So I went to look at servers for DayZ Overwatch. Man, depressing. 1000 vehicles, more barracks than you can shake a stick at, self-bloodbag, custom loadouts. Do people really not see the error in this? Sure, it might be popular, but so is a lot of dumb stuff. In DayZ, you cannot ever experience the concept of "plenty". It is, by definition, non-apocalyptic and non-survivalist. It just bastardizes the experience into something else that is profoundly not DayZ. I get that, yes, it's a mod and I don't have to play it. Also, I get that whole "freedom" of choice thing. But this isn't DayZ, it just isn't. It's something else. Likewise, it saps a potential playerbase away from the mod. With SA, I really hope it stays un-moddable for a while or indefinitely and that the server settings are modest. Normally I'm a pretty big proponent of modding, but there is a detrimental effect that happens when too much is done to an experience.

Not really. They are alle based on the same mission-editing tool from Arma2 that just had to been adapted over and over to the modifications of DayZ. But the fundamental function, how to inject code to the server, as well as most of the patterns for hacks (raining vehicles, esp,..) came from Arma2. They were not invented new for dayZ. DayZ, as it is an Arma2 mod, uses the same communication-structure as Arma2. Therefor the hacks work. Standalone will use a different Client-Server architecture, so the whole communication-interface of the hacks would have to be rewritten completely. That's the fundamental difference in my opinion. For the mod, they just had to reconfigure existing hacks. For Standalone they have to make new ones. People tend to underestimate how much in DayZ was copied/stolen from Arma2. Not only models and maps, also hacks. -
It's not just unstable connections people. There are other factors too, for example: 1) Dynamic IPs. Many ISPs give dynamic IPs to clients, which are renewed every couple of days. So I could be playing, my router being with the same IP for 2 days, and midgame it chooses to renew my IP. Disconnect, reconnect, new IP. Disconnected from game. 2) Power outages. Where I live they are quite common, usually last for a couple of seconds/minutes, but that's enough for the router to go off and/or the pc. And no, I don't have at the time 300 euros to spend on a good UPS. 3) Random computer crashes. Could be Arma/DayZ SA, could be some program running in the background, some updater gone mad, etc. I'm pretty sure there are also other factors which I have no idea about. I'd really hate it if I lost my character because of one of the above reasons. I'm all in for fighting combat-logging, but not at the expense of legit players. Edit to add suggestion So, I just had an epiphany. I think there is potential in what I'm about to propose. Goal: Make combat-logging non eficient in such a way that people will actually prefer to fight for their lives than combat-log. At the same time we must protect legit players with above problems. System layout: When someone joins a server, this server is stored in his personal "space" on the public hive database. Let's say our guy meets with another player and decides to combat log via alt+F4. As soon as this is done, the time he disconnects (or more appropriately drops) from the server is stored in the public hive database. At this point a timer kicks in. Said guy has 15 minutes to reconnect on the specific server he disconnected from. He is unable to join any other public hive server. After 15 minutes his blood level falls to half of the amount he had at the time he disconnected. After 20 minutes his blood level falls to like 500 (just very low, no fainting). At 30 minutes his character dies. This way, if I encounter you and I combat-log, you know the exact location I disconnected, you can camp there for 15 minutes and shoot me as soon as I join. The more time I don't log on the less chances I have to survive, since my blood drops as time passes. Legit players facing any of the above problems still have 15 minutes to save their character in full health, and 29 to just save it. Plenty of time for a reboot, a router reset, and for minor power outages to go away. Obviously there should be some extra checks too from the public hive. Checking if the server is up, if it's full or not, etc. If the server is down, then a different approach should be implemented. If it's full it should give you more time. Anyhow, these are details, which can be solved methinks. Of course this can be exploited too. The combat-logger could get on TS and call his buddies, them coming with vehicles and all and killing you in less than 29 minutes. Then he logs on again, gets a transfusion and keeps on playing. But I think it's better than nothing. If this and a more aggressive legit log-out (abort) system (for instance, 30sec timer for abort option to appear, and then a 50-100 meter radius check for any moving creature -could be another player, a zed, a rabbit, a boar, a goat etc-) I think we'd see combat-log levels fall drastically.

Hey Guys, I've been looking and have not been able to find a decent DayZ server out there where theres not like 1k vehicles and u spawn with a DMR or something else. Wondering if anyone knows a Hardcore Completely Vanilla NO MODS DayZ Server. Please Help Thanks!

Hello everyone, I created this thread to let you know that we just got our new DayZChernarues Epoch server. Indeed, we had to go through too many bad things in our dayz experience (Bad pvp rules, admin abuse, childish community, bad server perfomances) so that's why we had to get our own server with better rules and stuff. Our goal is to promote pvp as much as pve. We already set up some rules to avoid abuses although we also can change them following desires of the community. We didn't want to edit the map and the mod in too many ways to force people to progress with more difficulties than it uses to be on other servers. That's why we only added a few more military and industrial building on airfields, and a few landscape modifications in some locations; We prohibited AI's to get as much server performances as we can. According to us AI's are simply useless and don't fit to our progression schema. Server rules: *No racism/insults *No cheats *Respect everyone and not only admins! *No vocal in side chat. *Dayz is an awesome game-> don't rage, be mature! *Building camps not allowed in important military and industrial buildings. *Do not destroy locked vehicles parked in bases. *Built walls can be destroyed. *stealing in bases is allowed of course. Be smart, don't let anyone get your equipment! Server features: *Maintain option disabled. *Light map modifications. *500+ vehicles. *Traders not safe. (you'll never be safe anywhere!) *Solnichny wholesaler trades cinderblocks. *Kamenka wholesaler trades wood. *JSRS soundmod encouraged. Private DayZ Vanilla Hive - MyDayZ.de is opening again

MyDayZ.de is a german/international community with a private vanilla hive where you have to register and verify your account via SMS to play. It's a complete vanilla experience, no extra vehicles, no extra buildings. They have active admins and forums. New stuff might be on its way, lets see. Backstory: In June 2013 they closed their servers down because of personal reasons, they couldn't handle all the work anymore and there wasn't anyone available to do maintenance work on the root servers etc. so they were forced to close down. Good news is they are opening again.
