Here are the unique, game-changing features of this server that I am most excited about: Exclusive whitelist of 40 active players I look forward to playing with people who enjoy the server's ethos and who specifically want to be on it. All the great fixes and features of v1.7.7.1, but with increased loot (especially important: antibiotics) The ridiculously poor loot killed the game for many people recently and made it too laborious and boring. Mac's aim is to have the loot just good enough to balance risk and reward properly. Infinite ammo bug has been solved You cannot quickly refill your ammo by putting used mags in your bag and logging out/in. Now every shot counts, and you constantly worry about where you next mag is coming from, or whether you should swap your empty high-grade weapon for an inferior gun. Tent can be clipped again, and stashes can hold a useful amount if weapons, backpacks and items This encourages base-building and scavenging, and for players to use the whole map. No flyable choppers Choppers are great fun, but they are simply too over-powered. Only 10 ground vehicles on the server at any one time The default is 42 vehicles. It will be interesting to see how quartering it affects gameplay. I think without vehicles players may set-up tents/stashes nearer to hotspots. Vehicle spawns may be hotspots themselves. 95% of zombies are the new Viral type The zombie behaviour can't be changed, but using the aggressive, powerful, infected ones is a great idea. Military, supermarkets, hospitals, factories are hotspots again The tension created in going to one of these places, even with only ten or twenty people on the server, is undeniable. Nice selection of parameters and scripts - anti-combat logging - tents remain after death - full-moon nights - helicrash animation every hour - care packages every 20 mins - strip parts from vehicles - random air-raids (military trying to cleanse the infection?) Hopefully all this means the server will have: - A moderate number of dedicated players with a similar mindset (if that's at all possible). - An environment that is challenging in the right way, not just because there is no loot. - A balance between PvE and PvP - mostly scavenging and repairing, but with frequent player encounters. - A community that is aggressive enough to keep things interesting, but also good natured & entertaining. - Gameplay which is less like Arma/Wasteland and more like surviving in a collapsed society. I think that's what Mac meant when he chose the name 'Real DayZ'. -

i hide/remove everything... bodies, zombies,tents, vehicles and esp. Military weapons.. i've allowed my backpack to eat so many rifles in that last year, i could fund a 3rd world coup. partly cuz of giving proper burials, and to clean up the Apoc. (someone has to do it). and secondly to hide my trail.... -

I haven't found any antibiotics since 1.7.6.1 with my public hive character and I only had a couple of stashed packs as of the 1.7.7 update. I'm not doing anything wrong ... that is borne out by the fact that the character is still alive from 1.7.6.1, fed, watered, armed, mostly on wheels of some sort and regularly traverses the map. Why no antibiotics? Randomness and low spawn rates I would guess. Every loot pile I have checked, every one, has had no antibiotics in, no matter type of building or its location. Similarly, I've only found one tent since 1.7.6.1 and that was inside a spawned UAZ jeep. Which I haven't fixed, not having found four wheels, four windscreens, an engine, scrap metal and a fuel tank yet. Randomness and scarcity could also readily explain how some players are cruising it and others are struggling to find what they need. It has nothing to do with the condescending and patronising crap spouted by fan boys, such as "adapt", or "live with it", or "sneak more" ... ad bloody nauseum. My player has survived a month without problems, DayZ is not difficult. The primary threat I have faced is from game problems, not other players, zeds, or the environment. Disappearing vehicles and tents, being spawned in with a vehicle on top of me ... narrowly escaped by proning ... and appearing in debug land with an empty inventory ...recovered by logging out and back in thankfully. I'm playing on public hive, so ... unless there is something wrong behind the scenes with the public hive or server build that we aren't being told ... it should be exactly the same as every other public hive server. N'est pas? This isn't a complaint about the situation per se, but simply stating that it is what it is. However, it is not particularly entertaining and I tire of the blind followers, loot-lucky and also perhaps liars, gushing that nothing is wrong.

Well the latest info suggests (not confirmed) that they will initially release the SA with the basic vehicles we know and love (hate) now. Then when they move onto giving them the full overhaul for customisation etc they will be removed and replaced with the new system/vehicles. Regarding the map, I kind of agree although so much work is going into the new Chernarus map that I reckon there'll be enough new stuff there to keep most of us entertained for a while, large areas of it will be completely different with many new structures etc. It's only a matter of time before we see new maps for the SA. Rocket has talked about giving the well known guys that have made some of the popular maps (Taviana, Namalsk ect) the resources and training they need to make professional quality maps that can be added to the SA further down the line. -

Welcome to US BOSTON! We are a New England based private hive via dayz.st, Washington DC. 3rd person | Crosshairs | Death Mesages: ON Name Plates: OFF Difficulty: Regular Version: 1.7.7.1 50.97.49.84:3238 US BOSTON is set to full day and night. Nights are very playable with the additional lighting I have added. Now with the 1.7.7.1 update and full moons, night play is very attractive. Yes there are addon's and modifications, but they are storyline based. Nothing unrealstic like self blood bags or vehicle repair stations. Our main priority is to preserve a sense of realism. We don't have hundred's of vehicles. But we do have many vehicles on the server, all of which are in appropriate locations. Becoming mobile will not be a hard task. You won't spawn in Kamenka and see a HMV within arm's reach. But if you look around, you will find acceptable transportation that will get you out of East Cutty. Hand radio's are functional. Important broadcasts, warnings, as well as story-line based missions can be heard via radio. Once you have a map, finding a radio will not be difficult. Car radio's are working, but only music for the time being. Pre-recorded broadcasts will be coming soon. Not only do we have storyline based missions, but we also have missions that aren't storyline based that go off randomly. You do not need a hand radio for the random missions. I use Sarge Ai with static spawn locations. I believe there are three area's that have Bandit Ai. I've dumbed the Bandit Ai down to almost the bare minimum. I've placed them based on; what I believe, to be logical locations. If you were a bandit you would scavenge area's with the best resources possible. Two area's out of three have Soldier Ai that serv as a self-cleaning oven for your convenience As a bonus for having a high Humanity rating, several wardrobe options can be unlocked! Those with a humanity rating of 20,000 will unlock the entire wardrobe. Our max ping is set to 450 in hopes to attract players globally. A dissolving ebug monitor can be viewed by assigning Custom Control #19. ADDONS Sarge Ai Refuel at Pump. Radio [Hand & Car] Street/House/Tower Lights Humanity Based Wardrobe Enhanced Color Correction CCTV MODIFICATIONS Bridge to Skalisty Island Checkpoints Observation Post Balota Raceway Devil's Mountain Redux Survivor Compound NWAF Additions Unbanned Weapons Aircraft Carrier Militia Outpost Oceanic Testing Facility And a few others... to a degree i agree with OP. And disagree aswell. I did play origins for about a month, got a lvl 2 house and stuff. had about 15 NVG's +++ mega packs and thousands of PKM rounds. split on two people. Server got new owners and BAM, all gone. couldnt say i cared much about it. It was easy to get all of it, we just flew a biplane into the 3 urals. loaded up all we needed then left. That is the sad story of origins. The good story is, looking like a badass with my aviators behind the wheels of my armored Ford pickup ;) our armored truck that we could always count on... i miss that <3 Ground and air vehicles is a big part of DayZ and i think if they release the SA without this content it will be boring. Not to mention playing on the chernarus map is boring in itself. Ive played chernarus so much its like playing in my youth neighborhood. -

Rocket stated himself in an interview at e3 that they had pushed the borders of the map out a bit to add area for new towns and stuff. there's unused landmass to the north and east, so by using it and pushing out the boundaries, they have effectively expanded the map. Even so, it's been confirmed that Player generated content is going to be supported, so if ACE can do it, I'm sure DayZ can do it too. Personally I'd like to see a 20km by 20km map. With a 100-150 player server, that would just be awesome. We'd need vehicles though. -

I see Origins as something the developers should look at to add other content. Base building is something that has been on the table prior to Origins releasing their take on base building. Being able to modify vehicles and strip vehicle parts is also something they are looking to add. The only thing Origins has that DayZ Standalone probably will never have is NPCs. Fraggle also points out the reason Origins will always be a step behind, it will always be limited by the Arma 2 engine. -

There are 18 skins And 53 Guns to choose From. To Use this system you Must Have Logged into the Server at least once, When you do your Debug Monitor Displays Your Player ID, Simply Put your Game name and PID in after you have Spawned on the server And Your Set You an also simply View http://pvp.bbhive.net/ to View the Leaderboard and Look at the Delicious Negative Humanity Currently You Do not need DayzUtes to play on the server, As Zabn Made it so it Is Running Standard Dayz, However it Will Be Changed to DayzUtes in the near Future Before the event The map Already has a Heap of Extra Stuff Added.. Well now ontop of the mass Graves, Fortified Mosque's and Big castles, it Now Has Docked Carriers that Spawn Choppers and Osprey's, and One Further out at Sea that Spawns Attack Choppers.. I agree with TMW Se7en^. I can't do outrage at OP. Maybe because it's Friday, maybe because there's some truth to what he says. Origins offers something new but not necessarily better. I thought it was a much richer mod at first too but the novelty wore off. To me, Origins is now lacking in what's now been added to vanilla DayZ by R4z0r and team...the new items, upped difficulty, infections, etc. It's just too easy, especially once you have your houses built and an arsenal of items/vehicles/weapons. I still have faith that once the SA is out, the team will throw themselves at regular patches and updates, keeping things new and interesting. -

Yeah man, especially in pvp, when I was still playing regularly on the private hive my friends and I frequented there were a few squads who would farm A2(NAMALSK) with impunity, load up tents and vehicles. My buddies and I preferred to stay fairly low technology and engage these squads as often as we could, looting what we needed and hiding the rest to set them back. Aside from that, I still hid whatever I encountered for the same reasons you posted. -

Hey man, just some tips and tricks I've been having / finding out recently from my trips to Sec B. - Landing on the top / industrial side with a heli typically can end very badly, they will shoot out your engine even if you're under the tree line. - Moving in from the opposite side of the island slowly works for me 100% of the time so far as long as you take it slow, go in from the trees, make a right at the hole and take out the snipers on the silo's (I've only checked their gear twice and never received loot from em sadly fyi) - While/after taking these guys out, make sure to keep cover from the ~4 guards on top of the yellow square building past the trees. - Next take out those ~4 guards on the roof of that big yellow building that sometimes spawns the ural inside of it - Camp this building if you have a ranged weapon to get out the LMG vehicles on top of the apartment buildings / firehouse - After taking out all you can see run straight (north?) of the yellow building where you should see two praga's, kind of behind the school towards the dense forrest - In the dense forrest there's sometimes 1-2 NPC's, careful with them they typically have PKM's and I've seen a dragunov off em once. - Work your way in the forrest to the far tower next to the wall and try to snipe the LMG on top of the mayors house - ???? - Profit thor-force.de/salvation-city-tactical-map This awesome map shows most of the locations of the guards there, it should be helpful. The entrance I suggest going in through is the bottom one on the map. I play on "Stranger-Danger" in a group called RTP, we have a nice group that frequents the island and recently I've wanted to start clearing it. I cleared half the island with a PKM I picked off a guard because making a noobish mistake. If anyone would like to join hit me up! Always try to have a decent amount of cover, and when you're moving, know where you're going to go. Honestly it's all an experience thing, that's all I can think of right now it's been a long night but hope some of this helped :D PPPPS... Killing the Mayor apparently attracts ALL the guards on the island. Don't do this unless you're ready for extraction and/or have killed all the guards on the island. 1) Editing in because I didn't answer any of your questions. To get the blueprints follow what I said basically clearing your way from the yellow house on that side of the map forward, a few decent shots with assault rifles will get you out there, my group has gotten the plans 2 or 3 times now and we're not all that careful. Someone taking their time and learning everything could easily clear it as long as your careful. 2) They notice flashlights for sure, I've heard they won't see you in the ural at night though (not confirmed) 3) Smoke I'm curious it'd be a good distraction with a GL to get safe, let me know what you find out! 4) Bison SD is a pretty crap gun :P Try to get an assault rifle in there if you can, if you're flying in check if the ural is in that yellow square building - when it is I find we have a MUCH better survival rate, and you can always hit that ural in 10 minutes easy and get out with the Mega, Travelers, and plenty of other supplies and guns from the truck. Make sure you watch the roof's when you go in! Best of luck on your trips! Flip -
6 new PMC's established this week and counting! This week we are promoting camp building with a sale on at all traders for base building materials. Also some map edits have been made to create some templates for secure bases. Find the bare bone structures added and build your base around them how you want it! Secure your bases with gates, locked vehicles and fortification structures all available and craft-able in game!

Wow, my findings thus far on Mac's new server... Day 0: I spawned just west of Electro and not 50m from me, sitting quietly on the front steps of a random house, was some camo. Nice! Off to a good start. Ran into Electro and I immediately felt the pressure of what seemed liked infinite zombies breathing down my neck. BAM...infected on hit 4. I fortunately remembered that Mac said he was going fix the antibiotics issue with hospitals so I decided to test it out. Test #1 = pass. Found 2 antibiotics in the hospital and proceeded to get myself back up and running. After a decent loot run in Electro, I ran west to Cherno in desperate need of the some key, essential gear. I came across a new item I had not seen before in the military tents near the east hospital....a Makorov SD WITH SD clips!. Proceeded through the high residentials with a good amount of success.....all the while fearing the zombies like never before. Knowing full well getting infected sucks ass, I was much more cautious as I headed to the grocery store where my 2nd test of Mac's changes passed with flying colors. There was food in the grocery store and NEW food as well. Milk, pistachios, cans of stew, etc. Also seems like there is many more types of soda. Anyway, ran north to find some guns because I know that the server is soon to have bandits who will kill me on sight. Ran into Zub castle and jackpot. Found a DMR! Woot, woot! Continued north and I heard the faint sounds of a chopper growing louder. I looked east and there it was. It flew overhead. I looked up, praying to the Gods, "Crash, Crash, Crash!".....and all of a sudden my prayers were answered. It exploded violently in mid air and landed, I'd say 800 meters on an adjacent hill. I anxiously ran towards the crash and as I drew near, I saw several dead circling the crash site. I decided to take them out from afar and I was successful in doing so with my nice and shiny new DMR. Unfortunately, I failed to see the random zombie who came from the woods behind me and it clobbered me unconscious. I was full health and within seconds, down to nearly zero. After regaining consciousness, I nervously fumbled around trying to reload and failed to kill the Zed before I fell unconscious again. Chomp, chomp....Fortunately, on the next revive, I took the zombie out, ran by the heli crash, found a British assault backpack, and limped away into the woods. I have no idea what I got down to, but it had to have been less than 500 blood. Since, I'm a full blown hunter trying to get my health back. Anyways, so far it has been extremely fun. I like the following... 1. Risk = Reward 2. I cringe at even getting touched by a zombie 3. Fresh server. It is an untouched frontier. I suggest joining soon and claiming your little piece of Chernarus paradise. 4. I haven't seen one vehicle yet. I think there are 10 on the server, but to me, that is going to make vehicles highly sought after. Mac's got a winner here. -

The reason the Army don't use it is because they have fucking armored vehicles and shit. Machine guns, rocket launchers, Sub-Machine guns, 30 men squads, the hell they need a fucking metal shield? And people aren't like "Oh it's bullet-proof lets just walk in there totally un-protected and shit!". And BESIDES if it were that dangerous the S.W.A.T get called in. The S.W.A.T have hostage situations, firefights, disabling a bomb, and many situations which require safety! So of course, a gigantic fucking shield that blocks bullets, is going to be on the shopping list! -

Even if this is true.. why are you so against the idea? why not think outside the box if you can? DayZ is not 100% PVP, such a shield might be good against... Ummm, i dunno, Off the top of my head... ZOMBIES, perhaps? If you get shot at... ~Why not stumble? ~Why not have to drop the shield after rapid fire against you? ~Why not have it protect you from 75% of the bullets damage and then have to repair it with certain tools? (Items are like Vehicles now, they have a damage gauge, a riot shield seems fitting for such a feature, don't you think?) I'd like to modify a riot shield with nails, more scrap metal, all sorts of blades etc. -

It's a private hive. It is day and night but there is nighttime city lights. We have a tea speak server and there is around 150 vehicles on the map the starting load out is just and m9 with a couple of mags if there is anything else you want to know just ask
