To a point yes, but these vehicles are incredibly expensive (like a weeks worth of farming), armour is not rolled out constantly and if it is its a smaller vehicle like a M2 Hummvee, we usually travel in a little bird or a suv/ural. Thanks for watching and leaving some feedback, its much appreciated.
  2. In the past, we had a really fun 30+ man server and after an extended downtime we decided to start a new Epoch server. This time around we wanted to do everything in moderation. Our new server is now also dedicated, no server host used. --Cities additions and other additions to the map make sense and go with the theme of a "civilization making a come back" dayz. We have not made pitiful attempts at placing high loot buildings all in one area. --We have made full usage of the new Map_EU buildings and will be adding new loot spots. --The view distance on the server has been increased to 6000. Fog has been tweaked and not only adds to gameplay but looks great, especially at night. --PvP events in a constructed arena also take place, with the winner receiving a vehicle, gear, weapons, or a few bricks of gold. --Missions have been added to provide a varied PvE experience with a reward. The missions have a wide variety of loot, enemies, and vehicles. They spawn out in the wilderness or within cities. --The same missions mentioned above can also contain building supplies. --Server bandit ai have been added to provide PvE in additions to an unknown. We have found that players are too used to Dayz and are comfortable taking chances. We want players to think before doing. --The option of being a bandit or a hero is always possible. The ai are not all enemies, some are surviors and if you are a hero they may even give you a bloodbag. --The hero trader has cheaper prices than all the other traders, however the bandit trader has all the explosive gear and a few extra weapons. The trade-off is a more expensive bandit trader. --After restart, the server launches at various times of day. During the last hour of night and 2 hours of dawn ground fog has been added. --Server traders, vehicles spawns, and loot tables have been customized to include as many as possible vehicles, gear, and weapons. Everything has been done in moderation. If someone chooses to take a heavy military approach to the server they can, however if someone wants to take a survival approach they can as well. --Admins are generally reachable in-game or in our teamspeak. --Other notable features include: Improved base building(no maintaining), Trader City god mod, C-130 crash sites, Auto-Refuel, Self blood-bagging at hospitals and ambulances, deployable bike with a toolbox, and name tags when close to another player. --Right now we have a small population server and anyone willing to invest time in our server will be receiving a small "welcome kit" which is basically enough supplies to start building a small base. --We do not accept donations to get gear, that is garbage and if you do that, you're garbage. Instead just play here and have fun with us, that's payment enough. --We Currently have only 2 admins: Derek and Mintypie. Any reports of cheating or abuse will be taken seriously.   4. I was just wondering if it's possible to lock the fov when pressing " - " two times with a sniper or other ACOG sight weapons. Also when I'm in vehicles it will automatically zoom in again, can i prevent this?
  5. UPDATE: 21 November 2013 RADIO TRANSMISSION: If anyone is listening we need your help now more than ever. If we are to survive we must band together and rid our lands of not only the infected but the increasing number of bandits that are plaguing our communities. I've set up a small camp in an attempt to come together and fight the bandits. We have food and water available and a limited amount of supplies. Beware of Sabina, the Bandits have really stepped up their activity in the city. Just yesterday we lost three good men there. As always, keep the faith - Out... In other news, stay tuned for your weekend update.... -Bandits have built a sizeable encampment in the fields near the racetrack and continue to bolster their numbers there. - recent Imagery of the compound indicate at least barracks, possibly more while HUMINT has confirmed they are stockpiling rare weapons on site. -Intel has intercepted recent long range radio transmissions and expects an arrival of new fighting vehicles never before seen by the Ruthless Toothless survivors in the coming days. -The Bandits have also continued their assault on Sabina and have almost completely taken over the town square. In addition to this they have begun setting up checkpoints on the outskirts of the city in an attempt to keep survivors out.     Will the SA actually be a zombie game?

    Aside from the points I've mentioned already, what's the difference then? Simply that one zombie is controlled by repetitive routines and one zombie is controlled by a less predictable and more creative (and dangerous) mechanic? Why does that bother you? If we had this mechanic already, we might have zombies waiting for you in spots you thought safe, following you into forests and waiting to attack until you are searching in your backpack, running at you indoors, sitting in vehicles and popping out at you when you get close, hiding behind doors and around corners, sneaking up on snipers until they are directly on top of them, and occasionally doing all this in packs... it could add a new dimension to the zombie threat, maybe some paranoia, and that's just in the mod, alone, not to mention what could be done in a fresh game being built with this in mind. I don't really understand the nay-sayers, human AI is a much more interesting/challenging/scary opponent than stale, repeating computer AI. If you don't think so... Look at the current state of the mod.
  7. Just to point it out: We are trying to make a TRUE DayZ, not that 1000+ vehicles crap. We are trying to get some more player interaction, like DayZ once had. Instead of the shoot on sight mentality a lot of people playing DayZ have now a days. In my opinion DayZ is supposed to be a survival mod. If you want to fly around in an attack jet to kill tons people, i would suggest playing ACE mod or just vanilla Arma 2. With that being said, we are also against admins abusing their power (using control panel map to find items, players etc.) So if you want to have a authenthic DayZ (Epoch) experience, feel free to check out our server :)

    well I believe the dev team has very large plans for this game. I would say the early access release will barely scratch the surface of their vision. You know, hardly any guns, no vehicles, etc... They want to get the framework in place to support these things and some limited/core amount of functionality ready for testing but that is it. Whoever gets in early access shouldn't have any great expectations. However I bet if the game is at least fairly successful at release the next 6 months will bring a whole bunch of updates, changes and improvements.

  11. I play DayZ Epoch myself but its on a server with no vehicles lying around, no towing, no armor, no overpowered gear or any of that stuff. Its basically vanilla DayZ except if you get lucky a trader might have a Lee Enfield for sale. This just seems over the top also it took your clan a week to buy one of them but it seems as though everyone has one.

  13. NO. Please go play arma. Seriously you have no place in Dayz with these vehicles. "Briefcases" "money" "earn". I'll go as far as saying that you're a disgrace to dayz. You shouldn't post videos with "DayZ" in their title when all you do is mess with armor. I'm not condeming armor or that kind of play, unless it's in DayZ. But that's why I play arma 2 OA if I want big epic fights.
  14. These aren high end vehicles that a clan has to put the money towards to buy. The average joe cant afford them. Its not everyone's cup of tea but i enjoy the higher cap on the level of vehicles and the active clan systems on the server. If you have seen any of DevilDogGamer's videos it is the same server that he plays on and he can show you more about the server than i can. EDIT: For example a t-34 is the most expensive vehicle at 12 breifcases, it takes my clan about a week or so to earn that.

Whether its PVP banditry or PVE Survival you will find both, including a friendly community full of both highly skilled and knowledgable players to help you out. If you are of a mature, responsible, atitude, 16+ and have beans and/or beer head on over and sign up.     Creating a larger map for Dayz?

    Definitely a good idea for SA. Not only will it reduce the chances of coming across the noob KoSers near the coast, but it would make vehicles less OP, add more places to hide your base, ect ect And there could also be more players per server!

    There is no teaching people how to fly in the SA, you're a survivor, not a know it all. Nobody can jump in a plane with 0 experience and just fly around and land, it's ridiculous. And of planes were on two servers that would NOT work, as those servers would be swarmed and the vehicles would be griefed/hidden to all Jesus. So let's say this every time the planes are destroyed or lost (not acceded in 7 dayz) they respawn on a different server in a random location. Secondly a PA-18 is quite a simple plane to fly. My dad has a 2-seater version and has turned to stick over to me when we go flying . Of course I've never landed it or done a take off.

  20. I always wanted players to assign their own classes in a sort of group. Like one guy might instantly decide to be medic and carry the majority of the groups meds around. Another guy might decide to be the engineer because he likes driving, brake it you fix it sort of deal. One guy might prefer sniping, another guy might like CQC so he grabs a shotgun. If you are on your own you're probably going to struggle to medicate, and defend yourself to the maximum extent let alone being able to repair vehicles.

    Horses.

    ahhhh horses....i don't really see them to fit into this game. they wouldn't be much more than a neat alternative to vehicles, bikes and helos and therefore maybe far too time-consuming and complex to implement. but what do i know. reference: please RDR for the love of god
