Please more Chernarus Defence Force gear. I find it quite unrealistic that there's no CDF Camo clothing (I think) or AK-74s/AKMs in the bases. Chernarus isn't dominated by the US so why are we finding M4s in bases? I'd understandd if it was canon witth ArmA 2 but seriously, where's the CDF gear?. CDF Fatigues. CDF Cargo Trousers. CDF Combat Helmet. AKM. AK-74. CDF Infected. CDF Vehicles. CDF Pouches, vests etc. I also beileve that each barracks shouldn't hold stuff like UK Jackets and US gear. I doubt the 2 sides would be sleeping together, for whatever reason they were there in the first place Just tired of seeing foreign stuff where it doesn't belong. I'm not saying get rid of them, though.

I hope they will never go up, they ruined the mod, they went completely against all elements of the game. They had quick loot spawns, too many vehicles and removed night time. They attracted and kept a crowd that never wanted what the game was in the first place. -

5 second load times, smooth and responsive controls that are better in some ways than Arma 3 and worse in some ways. It's vanilla. I like vanilla. If I wanted TDM I would play something else. No vehicles. Zombies are sometimes a non-issue. Other times they are instantly fatal. It's very inconsistent. The server-side inventory management causes a sometimes irritating lag before your inventory loads in game. -

Hopefully not for a very, very long time. I don't understand why people are so obsessed with vehicles in these games. They make the game smaller and the smart people who have them exploit the hell out of them. -

Well the main thing here is that I'd rather play this than DayZ Mod. Although they are similiar prices, the standalone while it lacks the same amount of weapons and vehicles, is still a lot better even in its current state. -
First, it's biased. Not bi-est, sounds like you're saying something is more two than another two. Secondly, to throw my two cents in. You're all right, we don't have to play on the 1000+ vehicles spawn with full military gear servers. But, to use the mod as an example, there isn't alot of choice. If you go look for public hive servers you'll find a handful of populated ones. If you look for private servers its a never ending stream of servers packed with people wanting to play their little deathmatch with a side of zombies instead of playing the mod how it was created to be. We get of choice of playing DayZ: Singleplayer Edition or having to put up with the private server shenanigans. So, yes to possibly changing server names, server restart messages, maybe something to do with time because this 30 Days of Night rendition is getting old. No to loadouts and editing vehicle spawn numbers.

Why on Earth would they want to stop that? It's one of the things that kept the mod interesting. Trying to acquire as many vehicles as possible and defend them from other players was a huge part of the game for our group. People who think "hoarding" was a problem just didn't run with the right crowd I guess. I will be really shocked if vehicles are any less rare they they were in the mod. In fact, I would wager they're going to be even more rare and difficult to acquire. -

Christ, running around is hard enough, what will pedaling a bike be like? Never been a fan of vehicles in DayZ, I hope they are a long time, car engines and chopper parts in your bags? Meh. I hope only groups can carry heavy items together as opposed to a single player carrying loads in their bag. Breaks realism and immersion. -
Agreed. They said things like ESP, Aimbot, etc. would be possible, like all games. They did say, though, that because the game is server sided now that spawning vehicles, objects, etc wouldn't be possible. It's a big relief to know that ArmA scripts are a thing of the past.

Thankfully ArmA 2 script injecting is the same as it ever was, so vehicles are actually in the game already. -
I was curious as to when we can expect vehicles to be in the game. I know that it probably won't be all that soon, but they are an important part of the game. Dean keeps talking about re-balancing the map and adding new areas to the north part of the map, but that seems like a waste because the far north of the map is rather inaccessible without vehicles. Right now, it can be hard to do much and see the new parts of the map when it takes over an hour to walk the length of the map. I'm just curious as to what the current time table on some of the new content is.

I might take a while to get to that point, but even in it's current state I am having a blast. Just seeing how much a single update has fixed this game makes me hopeful for the future. I was very concerned about the standalone no being fun, but I think it's safe to say that when the final product comes out it will at least be a decent game. Here is my wishlist: Zombies can have rare items (This would promote actually killing zombies and add more of a thrill) Static mouse acceleration Very rare end game items Vehicles (instead of functioning on spawn, they should almost always be repaired) Stat trackers Better Performance (I can't max it out on my 290x -_-) -

i would like to see something overrunned, corpses, corpshills, mass graves... - this should be everywhere... and of corse more MILITARY vehicles... its like they didnt answer back on that infection! cmon! -
They'll eventually add customization options for server hosts, you'll be able to choose your loadout, make however many vehicles you want to spawn, and probably a bunch of other stuff we're all overlooking. It's too early right now, but it WILL come. Why? Because the majority of the players like playing on those servers. It doesn't matter what the few in this thread that are whining about how they shouldn't add the stuff because those whiney players can easily play on a regular server if it's that big of a deal to them. Trust me, we'll get the server customization options eventually. As for the argument for the ignorants telling others to play on the Arma 2 mod, well they're just that -- ignorant. The devs don't want people to play on the mod anymore, they want people to purchase the standalone and play it. We'll get the server customization options and then some simply because these whiney people complaining about it can always choose to play on a regular server and leave the fun, awesome servers to the rest of us. :D

DayZ most needed stuff! This topic is about things you (the community) want to see in the next DayZ build. Remember we're talking about basic stuff, don't too far from the important stuff. Priorities, we want the basic of the basic first, and then ask for more things to come. Please comment below on things you want to see, and we will build expectations together and hope developers notice it! Hopefully when I will see it (or if any moderator wants to add anything he thinks fit / someone else offered and it fits), it will be added to the list! Features marked with a line on them are added features. Let's begin! The list: [CHANGE] Spawn with full satisfaction of hunger and thirst. His argument wasn't that those 2 are the same, but more of, where do we draw the line? How far to we go to cater to a certain playstyle at the cost of the game's true vision? If you need proof that it is hard to do, look at what happened to the mod with private servers. First it start with 24/7 daylight and spawning with makarovs again, then we'll just add a few more vehicles, then let's just add some barracks here and there, and I guess we can add some Apaches and tanks for funzies, and people are going to need some sort of rifle at spawn now. I should hope you're getting the picture. Once you start giving things away, it's hard to stop people from wanting more. It's better to hold the line and keep the game true to itself and let the folks that want easymode adjust or go back to the mod.
