  2. In 'known issues' you post "- Vehicles will keep driving after the driver is killed"... Well, irl if someone is killed while driving, of course the vehicle will continue to travel until it hits something to stop it (unless the driver had stopped the vehicle first and kept their foot on the brake when killed)... If this game is supposed to mimic reality, why do you keep coming up with hair-brained changes that defy that? Seems as though this isn't an issue and should be left as is... Exception would be server restarts, the vehicle should stop at its last logged location upon a server restart - THAT is fair... If some players are crying that vehicles continue driving when they get killed (if said vehicle was in motion at the time the player was killed) they need to grow up do a little thinking on reality and physics - a car moving when a driver passes out or gets killed in real life will absolutely keep moving (driving) until something/someone stops it... Just seems like you guys are trying to break more things by trying to fix something that isn't broken... As the saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"...

This server is loaded with zombies after a week of being on server they have free custom bases you can get with build shed, trader, vehicles loaded ready to go, very friendly admins with quick response times.   4. I see a few familiar faces in here still... Just got started back in DayZ again after a long hiatus and figured I'd get reacquainted to the forums to see if they existed what with Reddit being more prominent than it was back then. Back in the day I rolled with a group that called ourselves the "Helpy Helpers" that patrolled the coast looking for freshies to escort through contested areas and protect them from the armed filth that killed them for sport. Got about 12 hours in since my return and a lot has changed but a lot is still the same. One of the factors I'm most dismayed to see is still a thing is microstutters representing a variety of things from large mounds of loot (bases), zombie / infected spawns (whatever) and players in proximity. I can't write notes to people anymore, spray paint isn't a thing... can't capture rain water in a water container and vehicles are still absurdly awkward and clunky. But I can still come over a hill and see a large city looming on the horizon and get butterflies in my gut from both anticipation and apprehension in a fashion no other game can manage. There's a game meta that has never been matched with a versatility that is unique to DayZ- in my experience anyway and I'm pretty stoked to be getting back into it. Anyway just thought I'd wade back into the conversation and say hello again. Any "Helpy Helpers" still out there doing the do?

    Few Suggestions

    Hi, The game is already so amazing and so addictive to both watch and play. I just can't help myself from often getting these cool ideas for in-game that would make really great additions to an already incredible DayZ gaming experience. *) Artillery strikes on central areas of cities: these could be activated from abandoned missile launcher installations located on the perimeter of said city and may require some sort of activation mechanism like a necessary fuse to be found and incorporate frst. Once activated, there are ominous sirens that go off inside the city, allowing those pesky campers just about fifteen seconds to get the hell out of there before the missiles drop and cause absolute carnage. The infected will also go beserk to the sirens and attack any player nearby. *) Better infected behaviour: I feel it would be more immersive if the infected rather focused its hostility on whomever is closer to it, rather than comically chase down its initial target right past numerous other players. This would encourage more of a realistic race for survival type of dynamic between multiple players within the radius of triggered infected. (You don't have to outrun the infected, just the other players). *) TNT: dynamite sticks could be cool to find as loot, bundle up together in craft mechanic, as well as connecting them to a fuse line for safe distance detonation (either on slow timer discharge or immediate with an equipted detonator). *) More explosions: those outdoor large white gas-tanks with the small red flameable warning sticker on it's side, how are these not explosive when shot at, either accidental or intentional? It would make for some cool collateral destruction. Maybe even incorporate some level of shockwave from explosions in general that might even be strong enough to blast the windows from close enough buildings or vehicles. *) Throwing weapons: hear me out. Knives or even just rocks from building debris, they should be realistic weapons to throw at each other. What about crafted spears that you can actually throw in emergency situations. Or even the axe, with a chance that it's only the handle that hits so the damage is much lower. What about the option to craft a Molotov cocktail out of a bottle, rag and some gasoline? *) Wild fire: as a weapon, fire hasn't been explored much. Imagine catching fire as a player and having to first 'stop, drop and roll' as a survival technique to kill the fire burning your health away before another player just shows up and kills you off anyway. *) Body dragging: I've already seen this suggestion many times before. The ability to drag a dead body so that you could loot it somewhere else close by that is much more safe. *) Foraging: again with the emergency situations, this is after all a survival game, but hear me out. You can't find food anywhere, or anyone to ask for help, and you're just about to die of starvation. What do you do? Kill yourself? No, just run into the forest and find either some berry shrubs or some beehives hanging from a tree - sure the bees sting you a bit causing low damage because you didn't first smoke them out with a burning rag, but hey, you're no longer dying of starvation. And what's more; some additional foraging enables you to find some herbs you can use to craft a remedy paste for treating wounds. Or just heat up the honey to use with the rag as a more effective wound treatment (heals 2 cuts at a time). 'Freshies' will have a better time getting on their feet with little things like this. *) More food: I feel like DayZ takes place in a country that has potatoes as a staple, where are the potato gardens of rural homes? Cook potatoes in a pot or on fire for maximum starch. What about hares and jackrabbits, squirrels and foxes in the wild to be hunted for meat, bones and pelts? Perhaps some bird nests providing eggs to be eated raw or fried in the pan. Why not have some homes with chicken coops to farm their eggs since there are already chickens in the game. Livestock pens with some animals left abandoned like pigs, goats and geese? Too easy of a food source? Leave a guard dog or two then. Can't just shoot the dogs or infected will be alerted - what's more, you kill the guard dogs and the nearby wolves suddenly have nothing keeping them away anymore. *) Looting: interactive cabinets, drawers and closets inside of buildings for more immersive looting and storage thereof. Just like you allow players to open the doors and trunks of inoperable vehicles for looting. *) If the DayZ lore supports the possibility that some residents were given enough time to prepare for a possible zombie apocalypse, could it be possible that some of the more remote houses had small personal survival bunkers that may or may not have been stocked to some extent with food, water and some basic weapons before the national disaster ensued. These small private bunkers could be well hidden and may require the use of a key or just explosives to enter. To prevent being taken out by campers, it would be wise to have a buddy or two staked outside as scouts until you're done looting. If personal bunkers are too extravagant, maybe just some generous stashes buried in the backyard of certain homes then - a nearby shovel could be a hint to a possible burried stash nearby. I will continue enjoying DayZ while generating more cool ideas for the game. DayZ is King 👑

    What would make a Dayz perfect game?

    The last post in this Thread is over 2 years old xD Serverperformance and most notably vehicles work ALOT better since the last update. When you having car desynch for example, its related to a bad serverhost. I play on a EU server that has between 80-100 players during the time where i play. I play 2-4hours a day average and the server has alot of cars ready to drive and they despawn after 4 hours of not being used. This way you have a car almost every day. And since 1.21 launched i just had a single "rubberband" accident with the car, where i teleported into a tree. The vehicle performance is ALOT better now. They are actually useable. The problem begins when you have modded cars that go over 120km/h. THEY DESYNCH. Vanilla cars are not meant to go that fast. If you however dont have modded cars and drive around in a m3s or a gunther, you wont have any desynch at all, aslong as the serverhost pays for a proper server.

Well, it's not that difficult, more than anything else and very very complex, it really has a lot of variables, and often, with each patch, they change them, and not always well or to the player's advantage. Then it's also a very very long and slow game... It's definitely not a "enter and shoot". Not counting the flaws that, unfortunately, also add to each patch. Even WikiDayZ doesn't help much, precisely because it's a very complex game that changes (even a lot, sometimes) with each patch... You lose days and days of playing to try and understand many things... and often, above all as far as it's about "player interactions", when you've learned something new, you're also dead and you have to start everything again from scratch... more hours/days of play just to get yourself back to where you left off. I have a fair amount of experience with vanilla vehicles, but I did it on my personal server, otherwise, if all your experience is based solely and exclusively on public servers, you will never try certain things and you will always remain "zero experience". This is DayZ too. In my opinion, getting the vehicles to work WELL should be THE main priority, and then putting more of them and with a system that makes them more findable / usable by players. Maybe no longer make them "eternal" but with an "expiration without use" and NOT updatable only by a flag. But until they get them right, they're more dangerous than helpful. And about the bases, getting experience on those is one of the slowest things there is, because they are hard to make, they require a lot of material and a lot of work (and that's right), but they are too easy to disassemble and they don't give any real protection... either the big stone houses, to tell the truth, since the bullets pass even the big stone walls... another bad defect of DayZ since ever... As I said... it's not that it's "difficult", it's that it's very very complex... very very slow... and very very badly done/defective... all this makes "gaining experience" very long. And with each patch, many of the things you've learned are NOT valid anymore and you just have to learn more... It's a "continuous battle", not only "in the game", but also (unfortunately) "against the game"... P.S. My advice: if you want to stay alive longer, avoid full servers, avoid interactions with anyone, move around the game very carefully even if there are only a few of you in the game (even just one player, you might find him around the next corner... and if you see him first, that's fine, if he sees you first, you could very easily die) and follow the players' progress on "Battlemetrics" to see the times of day when the server is less populated, if you have to do something "dangerous" (loot in military zones, for example). With a doll, a few "wipes" ago ... I managed to get 11 days of game before the next wipe. It's that it's not the only one I have in the game, I often play with both official "hives" (normal & HC), as well as my 2 personal servers (Vanilla & Modded) and, sometimes, even in modded servers of others... Especially with the pandemic I really played a little too much. Now I'll try to "slow down" a little and also recover a little "external life" (the real one) 😁

    I've played on one roleplaying server with something like NatureOverhaul and I must say its one of the best and worst experiences in DayZ. Why its the best? Because it really gives a feeling of abandoned overgrown areas. There were some extra tents, vehicles, crashes, trash, trees and bushes everywhere. You really feel like in postapo. And why its the worst? Because later if you want to play on official map, its too sterile and clean 😞 I hope that one day Dev Team will think about overhauling Chernarus in this way. Also that idea of POX dynamic events is also really cool thing that could be part of the base game.
