  1. To be honest, my Server got desync/lag problems since the vehicles are on it. It's also reproducable. If, for example, i am driving a vehicle all is more or less ok. But if i drive the vehicle into one tree the server produces a LOT of pending messages in the ArmaOAServer.rpt file. Worst case was that the 'connection lost since xx seconds' counter begun to run, after 15 second and a bunch of player which lost the connection completly, we were able to play again. P.s.: I have enough Bandwidth (min. guaranteed 10MBit/s, max. 1000MBit/s) but still the Lag Spikes are unbelievable strong.

A way to keep vehicles between servers

Yes' date=' that sounds awesome! I'm not familiar with the spawning mechanics of vehicles, but it seems strange to artificially limit the number per server, do you know if there is a technical reason for this or if its just arbitrary? If you read my post you might be surprised that I mention items stored in vehicles might not be able to be packed up with them, so you could still loot after someone disconnects with their car. I don't really care either way, I use vehicles for transport not so much storing items, but it's good to see people have an opinion on the matter. I actually didn't know that cars stayed in the server after you disconnect, I read somewhere rocket talking about how to 'save cars' to a server, I only assumed they disappeared with you if you managed to save them, forgive my ignorance. Though I don't think this is optimal, to me it makes sense that if you logged out you get to keep the spoils of your game, not all of us have time for long gaming sessions. I guess it is a 'care bear' solution in that manner, but I would argue it makes the game more accessible rather than simple. (Before people get upset by the word accessible, I mean usable by those who do not play the game for large stretches of time, not dumbing down) I really didn't expect people to defend the existing vehicle system so vehemently :P

    Electric and Natural lighting's V 4.0

I agree. I like that idea I had about getting "repair books" and scrap metal to a machine shop for parts. I would love to see a LM6000 gas turbine ingame. I wasnt trying to play PowerPlant Simulator 2012, just saying its a little outside the scope of Zombie Simulator 2013. Basement diesel gens I think are the way to go. Power a single building. it is your clans new fort. make fuel runs. easy to see out of. electric gates. SPOT LIGHTS OMFG. maybe even charge electric carts/vehicles? they could be silent. Also, sorry for excessive overkill on power plant info, but, you know, its mah thang.

    Guessing this Weapon is hacked

Im gonna wait and see what the dev's say first if they say its legal ill keep it if not ill drop it. Its Nice for spotting vehicles though
  5. So you want big groups of people to be able to hoard 10 ATV's to one server? (leaving the other servers ATV-less since there's a limited amount of vehicles spawning) I no like. It's fine how it is, just find yourself a stable server and get your vehicles on that.

A way to keep vehicles between servers

I don't usually use the same server day after day, sometimes a server just won't let me in, or is particularly laggy one day or I want to join a friend already playing, I figured there were people out there who also don't stick to the same servers but would like to keep vehicles they find. It's not supposed to be realistic, I know that's the cardinal sin for a Day Z suggestion, but as I said, it's not a permanent solution, it's a means to an ends, to stop a bug eating your car, which might I add, is not realistic. Also players would only ever do this right before disconnecting, again something that you don't do in real life. Sure they can pack it up at other times, but with the reduced walking speed, the inability to shoot or some other deterrence, there would be no point, so no one would do it. There are countless pointless things which you can do in the game, but they don't break the realism because they don't affect the game play.

IF this was an actual game...

I would pay a subscription fee only if the game world was made to come alive via regular events (e.g. military raids), side missions and other new features by the devs. I would also expect periodic new content like maps, vehicles, weapons, characters. I think the problem with subscriptions is the customer has to really feel they are getting a lot back regularly, putting constant pressure to innovate on the devs. However, if this would secure the future of DayZ I would pay, no question.
  9. My three bugs: 1. Breaking bones for no reason (crawling over a step, running into a fence with a friend bumpnig you, etc) 2. The various duping exploits. 3. The server memory leak that makes every server require a reboot every few hours My three features: 1. Deployable camo nets, the ability to bury stuff and other base building stuff 2. Rare patrolling / travelling zombies in the wilderness 3. More light vehicles
  10. The current system only saves a vehicle to the server you find it on, and as I understand it's a bit unstable. There is probably a way to get vehicles working between servers which will be implemented in the future, but until then I have a suggestion which should be relatively easy to implement as a stand in until vehicles are fixed properly. Suggestion: Make vehicles able to be packed up, like the tent is currently, but make them only take up one inventory slot and force the player walk quite slowly while holding it. The intent would be to pick up you vehicle when you disconnect to keep it safe in your inventory, not for walking around with. I was thinking make the player completely stationary while holding it, but they would have to be able to move around a little bit, just in case they need to move to a larger area to set it down again. The only down sides I can see are not being able to keep the items you store in the vehicle (the tent can't do this when you pack it up, but I suppose it was on purpose and might not be difficult to change). Or someone could pack up your car and flee the server, putting a long delay before the packing happens could probably fix this though I know it's a bit hacky it's not meant as a permanent solution, until rocket gets vehicles bug free it would make finding and fixing them a lasting reward, nothing is worse spending hours fixing up only to lose it to a bug. EDIT: It may be 'unrealistic' but it wouldn't effect game play at all, only disconnecting, which is already an unrealistic practice.
  11. I have been hoping server to server mainly because as soon as I find what I think is a decent server.... the admins or hackers start spawning crazy vehicles and fast forwarding the day night cycle...... soo Any decent servers out there with active admins that respect a hack free environment. Prefer an opposite to est so i get some daylight play time. Send me a message or direct me to your server.. thanks... Yea sorry for the whiney post

    Car crashes

    Yeah, vehicles are WAY to fragile. I tapped a fully repaired tractor against a tree and it exploded... ;.;

    Cars and their respawn time

Respawning vehicles is currently not in game, but i would expect it soon, as it is 'easier' to do than many other things.
  14. Fixes: 1. Random Environment damage/death 2. Desyncing 3. Bugs with backpacks, inventory and looting. Features 1. return of sandbags, wire, fortification options 2. improvements to vehicles, durability, repairability, availability. 3. friendly player identifier options.
  15. Definitely cooperating with the docs would also increase our services and such. A trading server or designated server might be a good idea too. We're going to need a designated server just to orchestrate our activities, procuring a vehicle and preparing a location for this trading post. Is there any progress being made on this idea? I'm actually jumping at this opportunity, I really think being a guard would be interesting just for the Role-playing interest. I don't have any vehicles or sandbags to offer, but i'm outfitted with a decent primary weapon and some transfusion bags to run guard duty or scavenger duty.
  16. You'r a beast good work man i'm glad I chose you! I also wanted to ask I wanted to see how everything went and how it runs but I may want bigger and better. I want to provide a quality server for people who want an active admin to do the small amount that they can to make the game fun and safe. If I can upgrade later will my players tents and vehicles stay the same? I would hate for it to have to reset in that event i may take a vote. For anyone else interested I plan to provide TS3 and a webpage for my servers. I plan on them being permanent homes as stabil as i can for people
  17. Vehicles? They just killed me 30 seconds ago. So much for "helping survivors" raiding camps and killing everyone and taking everything for themselves and server hoping into another server to repeat against people who find the same camp.

  19. Hello there friend, I just saw your thread and wanted to post here. If someone were to check the logs on Dallas 20 they'll see that I was the one that killed Bla_Ze here in his third video. (In game name is Chernogorsk_bandit, I am a regular on Dallas 20) As quoted from another thread: "I logged in and heard gunshots in the distance, I was at Lopatino. Saw reersh9 was killed, saw Skeptic was killed, and saw Sagez was killed (all regulars) that I've played with and against throughout my stay on Dallas 20. I saw that one or two of your group was killed also. As I crested the hill I saw a guy looting what looked like two vehicles and a bunch of tents. Experiencing desyncs and server crashes all the while. At times the server can be a bit unstable. I crawled closer and decided to watch for a bit. It was pretty obvious he was raiding the area. I waited until he hopped into the vehicle to drive off, then I rolled around the corner and lit him up using my DMR. Killed him instantly, got the truck that he so nicely loaded for me, and rode off." I also had experienced server DC's and had just loaded in when I saw him at the tent. In the third video you'll see that he never looks my direction, I didn't want to risk the shot unless I had to take it. It wasn't worth the chance of being killed. It takes trucks a bit longer to back up so I waited for him to get in, and as soon as he did I lined up and took the shots killing him almost instantly, I took the truck and drove off to my tent fortress then. So no, Reersh didn't bullshit you he's a good admin. I've killed him, he's killed me. It's a good server and i'm sorry you had a bad time on there. Fun fact: I crashed the car during a lag spike later in the day anyways.

    where do our vehicles go?

There are no hidden locations. The more remote, the more likely someone will search that area. Many groups just hop server to server searching the edge of the map for camps and vehicles. Believe it or not, that remote, 'hidden' spot you guys have, people have on other servers as well. Let me guess, it's northeast of the dam? or NW of Lopatino?
  21. Whats this about NwO blowing up vehicles?
  22. Hello, today me and my friends were playing for several hours at US90 (Dallas 20). Estimated time 07:15 AM some of our friends were killed, we investigated and found a tent city. After a while of scouting around it we get attacked and i kill two players, one of them a moderator maybe admin? After 7 minutes, when we go to loot the tents we get “session lost” and the server goes down. We try to rejoin with some trouble after a while I get in. But get kicked for having high ping. And it was the same value as the hours before we played. Even a user on the forums asked why the values was changed. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=9599 This means the server was restarted just before we were going to loot the mod/admins tents and steal their vehicles. After the server was restarted the required ping value was lowered, pretty much barring us from any online activity. I eventually get killed after relogging quite a few times. This is the feed the recording. Please disregard our bad language.(lol) part1 part2 I get killed (Very funny :D)I’m not sure at all what happened on the server, if anyone deliberately barred us from looting their stuff. But it is very suspect and I would like some help figuring out what happened or maybe having it investigated if that is possible.

    Dallas 42 Apache

Well regardless have the server owner check the server logs. I'm sure they can find the IPs and conduct the proper punishment. I am also lead to believe that DayZ frequently scans for non server specific Items, such as guns, vehicles.. etc. In short if a hacker spawns a "non-normal" mod item it gets flagged.

  25. For the 3rd day in a a row when we logged in we have found that our car is gone. We are hiding them in very remote locations and even the atvs are well hidden inside pine trees yet every day without fail they are gone. We are making sure to click save several times before we log. Is someone finding our stuff? If so how? Or is something else going on with the server and saving vehicles or server restarting doing anything
