20 words or less: Spawning without a weapon
TractorFiend replied to rocket's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
NO It's annoying as hell, forces you into cherno/elektro to be ganked. As for the whole thing about "you don't have a pistol at home" thing, you're forgetting that not everybody is a master of all types of weapons and vehicles. The 'realism' logic is utterly flawed. -
So Imagine what would happen during a zombie apocalypse. The military would come in and attempt to create a safe zone some where on the map. Possibly to evacuate all non-infected. This would be somewhere up north. Some where easily defended. But of course the camp gets over run in a giant cluster fuck of blood and bullets. Now since this is where most of the population was this is where the zombies in the game come from. How? Zombies trickle out in random groups (roaming zombie hoards of up to 50 zeds?)... usually less than a dozen. These zombies follow roads to a few key buffer cities located around the map. Elekctro, cherno, stary, berezino, the air field. When a zombie dies in non buffer town, a zombie leaves from the buffer town to replace it. Ideally, the buffer towns should be placed so at most it takes 20 minutes for new zombies to get there. Now we all know that zombies have some sort of memory of their past life. That's why they hang around in the fields around their homes and the streets of their cities. This would mean that they'd take the route they were familiar with. They wouldn't walk in a straight line. They'd follow the road. So no zombies roaming the woods. Just on the roads. Avoid the roads. The refugee camp itself would be like the air field times 10x. Firing a shot off inside it would mean certain death as it would be holding hundreds of zombies at a time. Unlike the air field where players pose the biggest risk the camp would be the biggest environmental challenge a group of players could tackle. But the loot in a camp would be in tents. Sorry, intense ;) Vehicles, military loot, medical supplies. Everything. Anyways, I've been playing with this idea for a few weeks. I don't think it's something easily done, but I think it would be an amazing feature to an already kick ass game.

HOST ALTITUDE UPDATE YOUR SERVERS!!!
Castle (DayZ) replied to Paddy1991's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Wow, you managed to get all those vehicles in just one night? -
Good point, I hadn't read about that... So I guess it makes sense, but I'd have to disagree with vehicles being too excessive. There's a few of them and they're very spread out. Now the cars are everywhere because 1.7.1 reset all of them, otherwise it was really hard to find a car because they were most likely to already belong to a server hopper - which is pretty much the only way to get a car. And when you do get one, everyone, literally everyone will shoot at you on sight no matter what. Even if most of the wrecks on the road was repairable I'd still say it'd be somewhat hard enough to get a car. Because you'd have to find all the parts for it, and make it so you need a Toolbox in order to repair it. That way, it'd still be hard enough to get a car, but you wouldn't have to run across the map and hop between server to see if there's one. I've only ever seen one car, and it was the Military Offroad, just next to a road when we were heading to the NW Airfield so we assumed someone must have been disconnected because it was loaded with stuff. Other than that I've seen 2 or 3 cars drive through Cherno with like 60 zombies chasing it. And lets face it, cars are hard enough to use as-is since they blow up if you hit any kind of object at any speed, well, as long as its the wheel that hits it. You're dead. :P

I don't rage that often and I guess in a good way its showing how addictive Dayz has become to me and my fellow crew, but yeah main point is the server we play on US61 (NY2) which is hosted by "Host Altitude" they haven't updated ANY of there fucking servers and it's driving me INSANE I want to play the game on that server because well we have very good vehicles lets just say ;). BASICALLY does anyone know a way of contacting the server admin or owner or anyone that can update the servers. Cheers Paddy.

hi is it possible to use a car or truck as a storing place like a tent? do the vehicles despawn/respawn after a while or does the gear get lost?
-
I was getting the error prior to 1.7.1 along with other similar errors (glasses, vehicles, etc.) and it doesn't seem to affect the game, just click away and move along regarding your issue, maybe you have just been unlucky since others don't seem to have problem finding weapons
-
Well said. I think the Zombies were good as it was, the main issue is players being utter douchebags. I've played at least over 50 Hours of DayZ and I've only met 1 player that did not shoot me, and that was because he was looting. Every single other one have shot at me, and when I fire back at them with a beefier gun, they disconnect. The only fix I see in this 1.7.1 Patch is that the player stays for ~5 seconds after disconnect. Other than that, I don't like anything. Oh, sure the new monkey animation is cool and creepy but other than that, it's shit. Seriously. Spawn with a flashlight, a bandage and some painkillers? Sure it's realistic, but we can't do shit against zombies nor players! Some players are camping along the beaches killing every fresh spawn for easy kills. Zombies still run through walls. Vehicles still blow up when hitting some roadblock at walking speeds. Night is still gamebreakingly dark. Sure, it's realistic and all. I want DayZ to be somewhat realistic not entirely. It's not possible to play DayZ in Night anymore because all we have is the Flashlight and it's like telling everyone "Hello, Bandits, I'm running over here, feel free to kill me!" Even though the Road Flares does pretty much the same, you can at least throw it to get an idea where things are and where to go. Also the fact that you don't spawn with Morphine anymore! I'm so sick of Zombies breaking my legs and/or knocking me unconscious when I'm above 10 000 Blood, you might as well just hit Respawn. If I'm to be honest, I'd ask Rocket to(if possible) re-roll back to 1.7.0 and work further on 1.7.1, because it's not good. It's horrible, utterly utterly horrible. Edit: And not to mention, if we're spawning with this junk because it's more likely to be the stuff you'd have in a zombie apocalypse, what about cars? Just think about it, working cars would be everywhere. They'd be a thousand times more common than firearms! Sure you maybe don't have the keys for it, but you can always break the window and hijack it, and maybe the alarm would go off and you'll have the entire city on your ass but that's cool. This patch has in my opinion broken DayZ entirely, I can't play for shit. I'm lucky if I find a server that I can join with sound and without that annoying watermark, but then I get stuck with 2-6 FPS. It's not playable whatsoever. :(

It's Impossible to See at Night! - Other threads will be locked/deleted!
WalkerDown (DayZ) replied to daish's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
There's no more lights.. they ALL turned off because there's no more electricity. We only have vehicles and mobile lights. In this situation, during the night, you wouldn't see anything except when there's the moon. Sometime i do the mountain camping during the summer, so i am km's away from the city, and there's no light pollution to light the sky, and when there's no moon, even if your eyes get used of the darkness, you can't see anything! Except maybe the line of the surrounding mountains around you. I'm not sure why ppl are saying: you can see at night.. maybe they mean in a city, or near a city, or when there the full moon... but normally it's exactly like that: it's BLACK and you can't do a couple of steps without a flashlight. Did you ever tried to RUN in this situation? It's incredibly scary and dangerous: you end with a broken bone in a couple of minutes if you try to... -
TITLE UPDATED: No more SOLO corpse runs = Player driven missions
Malleovic posted a topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
This thread was previously titled "Expiration Needs More Lacrimation" There are a lot of topics and posts about making death more punishing, painful, or permanent, using methods ranging from taking away the so-called "starting gun" (yep, I am probably the only person who calls it that) to actually preventing players from playing at all for a period of time following death. The problem is that while the first idea certainly makes life after death more of a pain, it's not really all that bad if you died without a gun to begin with anyway, and if you have a friend who can protect your stuff if you did long enough for you to get there, then there really isn't any extra pain except for an inconvenient trip. The second idea is just ridiculously bad for obvious reasons, example: "oh hey, what a great game! it has this great difficulty feature built in that doesn't even let you play it for a while when you die" yeah I can't even keep a straight face while typing that. I just vomited everywhere. However, I have recently read two threads (one by Strategos and one by mike_mareen) that attempt to tackle the issue in the above paragraph head on (getting your stuff back). Because you shouldn't be able to get your stuff back. At all. Strategos' and mike_mareen's suggestions both entail server-access-cooldown-functiony-thingy-ideas-whatever that also has the benefit of stripping anyone who dies of any vehicles or tents that they had on the server AND keeping them from linking up with comrades, at least for the duration of the cooldown or until their comrades disconnect and rejoin them in another. As usual, a certain portion of the responses to their ideas were just a bunch of people bitching in one or two phrase responses either because the ones doing the bitching hadn't read the whole post or because they were to lazy to make their fingers work a little bit harder to engage the suggestions at hand (I know I might catch flak for this from the bitching parties in question, and I don't care. Your short posts will be easy to skip with a flick of the mousewheel). Sorry, short rant over. Personally, I'd like to suggest a feature whereby any tent, vehicle or item (equipment, ammunition, weapons, food) that a player touches should be made permanently inaccessible to them upon death (unless someone else picks it up/touches it), to the point of despawning if they get too close (obviously such a restriction would be lifted the instant another player touches the item, or else literally everything would make no sense and explode). This allows players to stay on the same server (very important if good connections are few and far between). Basically, you will never be allowed to loot your own corpse (or tent after death), under any circumstances, and someone will have to actually steal any vehicles or items you want to keep before you can obtain or use them again. This doesn't address the issue of teammate aid in keeping these valuables, but it does make it dicier. Your teammate knows that to help you get your stuff back, he would have to drop something of his (potentially for good if he's running to you rather than camping the stuff) to put it in his inventory/pack, AND that he has to pass up actually stealing for himself any vehicles or items that you might have had (and he now has the perfect chance to do so) just to help you get it back, because you can't on your own. Presently all he has to do is just camp your corpse until you get back. Couple this with a function that forces a player to spawn at a point on the coastline literally as far away as possible from their site of death, and I think dying just got wonderfully more inconvenient. Feel free to criticize, flame, bluster, call me names, and in general tear my ideas to shreds. Do your worst. EDIT: Updated thread title. EDIT: Updated thread title again to reflect the side effect of player driven missions (corpse retrieval) -
VEHICLE UPDATE (database side): 2012-06-16
Dyre replied to Ander (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Announcements & Info
I've yet to ride in a MOVING vehicle and have only found 2 in playing for a week+. One was a boat out in the ocean out of fuel... no way to get fuel to it. Another was an ATV that had a damaged hull (which I fixed) and a missing engine block (or something), which my buddy and I had no way to fix. The only other vehicle I've seen drove past me in Elektro at night and drew even more zombies into aggroing me. T_T SO, as someone with minimal vehicle contact, I still feel perfectly fine about your group having ~6 vehicles, especially since you guys seem fully legit about it. I think it doesn't bother me because it's 2 people per car, but even if it wasn't, I feel it's still pretty realistic to the whole post apocalyptic thing. I mean if some group had the resources to get vehicles, fix them up and successfully take them away wherever, they totally would. If ONE GROUP ends up with ALL the vehicles in the area, yes it sucks for the rest of the people in the area, but nothing is stopping them from trying to find those vehicles and stealing them--or trying to become part of that group that has all the vehicles. I'm happy about the changes though. I don't like the idea of abandoned vehicles (probably outside the map) never being found and thus never being used again being unavailable and like the idea of unused vehicles dying and respawning. :> -
DayZ 1.7.1 Discussion - Others will be locked/deleted!
dealman replied to Tigerr13's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
While I do like the new patch, zombies can still hit you through walls and even deer huts if they're underneath it. The one thing I want fixed the most are Vehicles, I mean come on! Me and a few friends have had numerous vehicles but if you hit a roadblack at like 5km/h and your tire pops the car WILL explode after a few seconds. We even had the V3S, a military truck and we didn't even make out the Quarry because vehicles are so shit, we barely touched the fence that's around it and the truck exploded from nowhere. Vehicles are so ridiculously fragile! Gunfire? No problem at all, they can take a lot of hits! Roadblocks at low speed? Fuck you, you explode. ArmA Logic. -
1.) zombie spawns - On the dayzmap.info page it shows the zombie spawn chance for each building, most small to medium size buildings have a chance of 0% - 40% to spawn zombies, but literally EVERY tiny building you find in the middle of nowhere spawns 3-5 zombies. With the 1.7.1 update buffing the zombies quite a bit it would be nice to have some changes made to the zombie spawn system. In a real life scenario you would obviously have larger numbers of zombies in large cities like cherno for example. If you are in a larger city then yeah the current spawns are fine, but what really pisses me off are zombies always spawning at every single barn, shack, and tree stand in the middle of nowhere. Again with a real life scenario most people wouldnt be hanging out in a barn at the end of the world, they would be going to "safe zones" or something. Im not saying these buildings should NEVER spawn zombies, but my suggestion is for the smaller towns and especially the really isolated random barns and stuff to have a chance to spawn fewer, or SOMETIMES even no zombies. 2.) zombies have sonar apparently... Fire one shot and every zombie knows exactly where you are. Come on now, zombies are dead, their senses have been impaired not enhanced. If im at the airfield with a DMR covering my friends while they raid Im usually OUTSIDE the fence and if I have to fire I usually get 2-3 zombies running at me from god knows where, even in the dark. Zombies shouldnt be able to tell exactly where you are whenever a single shot is fired. 3.) zombie speed - apparently they are olympic track stars. I understand they are kind of like 28 Days Later style zombies that sprint for you and all, but again... they are dead, their senses and motor skills should be AT LEAST slightly diminished, they shouldnt be able to run AS fast as players... at least not all of them. maybe have different speeds available to the zombies or something (like every time one spawns they must have some bit of code that randomly makes them a walker, crawler, or hopper, so maybe there could also be a way to randomize the speed they can run at as well). 4.) tent/vehicles - sometimes vehicles (across the entire server) seem to vanish and return to their default spawn locations. Also tents sometimes seem to have gear just vanish out of them as well (and no, its not someone finding the tent and stealing stuff. I have nightvision, GPS, silenced CCO in my tent, but like.... 10 M1911 mags, or a bunch of AKM mags just disappear from a tent on occasion, it seems random). 5.) disconnect timer - obviously this has been brought up many times but I had to mention it. Its stupid when u kill someone and they just abort real quick and you dont get the loot or credit for the kill. Also, apparently if this is done fast enough people can even respawn in still alive with all the gear. 6.) clothing fix - another one thats been brought up but please fix the camo and ghillie from spawning you in the ocean or debug. 7.) zombies constatly respawning - say some group wants to clear a town (or if they are really crazy, an entire city) for some reason, the zombies shouldnt keep respawning as soon as the players move a few houses away from where they just were. If someone WANTS to do something like this, the area should STAY clear of zombies as long as there are players anywhere in the town, and if they all leave, the town should STAY clear of zombies for a set amount of time (maybe 15 minutes?) so if another player stumbles into the area they wont have to deal with all the zombies respawning as soon as they get close.

Kuznetzov replied to Ander (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Kinda embarresing, they were stolen, some nerd left their bike, to bad we got too many vehicles to steal :D -
Well after having played a couple of hours to the new update I can only say that Rocket has again hit the mark. So far Chernarus move was easy if you knew the mechanics. You spent unnoticed if you walked crouched or walking slowly and completely invisible if you were going to crawl though you were in the middle of a road with no cover or any shade near being surrounded within 10 meters. Login to plunder a village was a snap. The biggest problem, what more to worry and be careful were the bandits. And there I think the main problem lay DayZ. Chernogost or Elektro was like the Wild West. Shooting everywhere, bandits with sniper towers ... The same happened in airports, military camps or in other cities with good loot. The greatest danger: other players. And we're playing a game of Zombies gentlemen. They should be the major threat. Now it has changed. Do not pound on foot lying or crouching go. Almost always have a line of sight unless you're inside a building (you can see through the windows) or covered by a wall, a tree or a fence. This forces you to go with much more care and use objects that were leaving to appear before useless. As the empty cans. Which have become an essential element to carry. The noise made by falling alert and attracts nearby zombies, this is almost all we know, but now takes on far greater importance. I've had to use 4 zombies to get stuck inside a building which wanted loot. Not to be born in, but if the last time you see or hear you are in X place, will go to there and start looking for you. If you lose you are hovering over the area. The same happens when you pursue, if you rush to run into a forest and you weaving through the trees just losing. See you leave and when they are left standing looking around looking for you you're already too far away to hear you. Luckily we have not yet reached us not get tired running and although things will change in the future xD insurance. Born without arms, food and drink Sounds like a great idea. Before you were born equipped with a Makarov, spare boots, bandages, morphine, painkillers, water, food ... In short: almost fully equipped to jump into the adventure, go inland to see that you found trying to avoid places with great villain. With a choice between doing that or go directly to a big city like Cherno or elektro, quickly equip with better weapons and dedicate to kill other players or... go to another town to better equip. Not anymore. Now the first thing to do is go into the first shack of shit you see in the hope of finding food, drink and hopefully a gun. What about zombies? Plan well your movements, monitor their own, using the cans ... etc. On the issue of subdivision have improved a lot. Now find easily in any hut the knife, matches, map, ax ... etc. Weapons and food too. All in more quantity and better. For example, in the same building near a factory I found 2 coils for wire beams and 2 anti-tank locks. Things that had never encountered before in the game. Now they say that work tents, hopefully with reason. On the subject of the vehicles I've also read that this fixed. It is assumed that all spawnean properly, boats, buses, helicopters, etc ... Perhaps this is the cause that at some times and in seconds they go pretty low server fps. Pd. Hint: Entering the oldest servers. As UK6, UK9, EU10 ... which yet I have seen sound longer. It seems that the newer servers have not yet managed to successfully upgrade to the new version. I UK9 playing UK6 and I have not noticed anything strange in the behavior of the zombies. Green or respawn back being glued to you, hurt you through the walls or the like. If you get a message saying that you should download this file and your version is 1.7.1 but the server is 1.7 even though it appears in the same name that is already updated this is due to the server.

You: In A Truck Me: Sniping you.
pogoman979 replied to xzalander's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
yeah i generally assume any groups with vehicles or powerful weapons are bandits who kill everyone on sight, so i usually snipe them with the DMR. Unfortunately not everyone in the group is always a bandit (i.e. say one hasn't had the chance to get a murder yet) so i sometimes get murders, but the majority of my kills are bandit kills. Because of this though i'm not sure if i am technically a bandit or not. But yeah the only shame about removing side chat is not being able to see the reactions of the people you just killed XD -
Hi, I dont consider myself a veteran. Ive been playing the game for 2 to 3 weeks now, 52 hours in total, my highest bandit murder count is 3, Ive never killed more than 250 zombies and my longest survival time is with my current character at about 15 hours. Yet, the fact that Im not a hardcore veteran survivor may help people. Also, its important to remember that 1.7.1 has come yesterday (16/06/12), so some of these tips may need tinkering. First of all, you need to understand this game is not perfect. Its at an alpha stage. When I discovered this game I watched a lot of youtube videos about it and all the "awesome adventures" people had with it. Yet when I connected, it was an entirely diferent "adventure". The first day it took me 1 hour just to connect to a server. I died due to bugs. Spawned in the endless ocean, wilderness and god knows where. So, the first lesson is: The game is not what the videos show us. Its harder, has way more bugs, isnt as exciting or fun as all the videos we have seen. The videos dont tell us that, they only show us the "awesome" parts. The second lesson is that information and decision making is more important than gear or weapons. Its amazing how people dont realize that in the start, but learn it from all the "stupid" deaths you had when you were a noob. In this game you need patience, you need to know what you need to survive, how important are the items that MAY BE in that house surounded by zombies and if the risk to get them is worth it. My tips are: - ALWAYS use the internet map: http://dayzmap.info/ With it you can know where you are, where you can find items, how far things are, where to find buildings in the wilderness that can have loot, the best path to reach inland places. Without it you will probabily spawn in the coast, travel right or left until you reach a big city, go into it, find a bandit and die. I cant believe how many people play this game without any clue about where they are or where they are going. Knowing the above, in my opinion, is the most important thing necessary to increase your survival rate. Another extremly important thing is to know which houses and buildings have loot. That help you aproach specific targets, lessening the chance of agroing zombies. They are always the same. - KNOW YOUR ENEMY. In this case, its both the zombies and other players. Dont trust anyone unless you have extremely good reasons for doing so. They may come with you for a while, help you, but just before disconecting they may think it would be wise to have your beans. Decent and helpfull players have been betrayed a lot and learned to shoot on sight. Also remember what I wrote above: Most people have no clue what they are doing. Which means they will stay near the coast (most youtube videos tell you to go to Cherno or Elektro when you spawn, which is stupid), meaning most players of the server will be near Cherno or Elektro. The more people around, less loot for you and higher is the chance of being shot. - STAY AWAY FROM THE COAST. Its not worth it. Too many people, not enough loot, high chance of dying. Some places are ideal for snipers, like the apartment buildings or hospital in Cherno. There are other big cities inland and also in the coast. There are tons of good places to find loot, and since they are inland and usually far from each other, the chance of finding another player is very low, meaning a higher chance of getting loot without dying. I wont tell you where to find items, but I gave you a map. Think about it. - SHOOTING IS A LAST RESORT. This is a survival game, not a deathmatch or first person shooter like COD. Ive played with other survivors which first option would always be to kill zombies around. That is not wise. Stealth is your best option. Try to be as safe and silence as possible in the start (I dont like to prone, I usually walk while crouching) and eventually you will learn how and how cautiuos you need to be. Shooting not only atracts more zombies but also alert players of your presence in the area. Even if you survive you will need more ammo, meaning more looting and more chances to die. Also dont fight zombies in the open. - ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. If you have food, drink and ammo to make you survive a few or a bunch of hours, you may not need more. There is no need to put yourself in danger for another makarov magazine or extra flares. If you have enough basic suplies try to find isolated loot points with your map that may have better gear, like military camps and deer stands. Since most of us have never played a realistic game, we think we need as much ammo as possible. I dont think so. You can do well with just one clip. Remember, if you find another player it will probabily be a very fast and intense firefight (you may die without even seeing your killer, and kill someone the same way), meaning you dont need a lot of ammo. You probabily wont even have time to reload. Killing zombies is easy if youre indoors and have time to aim properly and kill them with headshots, which always kill with one bullet no matter which weapon youre using. - SCOUT AND BE AWARE. This is a survival game, where information and decision making is essential. If you find a good loot spawn point, scout the area. The more time you spend doing it, highest are the chances of you surviving. Imagine that if youve looked at the map and thought a certain place is a good place to find items, others will think the same. Look for dead zombie bodies or the lack of walking ones in loot buildings. Remember that once someone go inside they may take 5 to 10 minutes to explore, loot and decide which gear to take. If you hear people opening cans or eating, trust your instincts and believe there is someone there. Also try to think where snipers might position themselves if they were to protect a certain area. Also there are some clans and groups that have taken hold of areas like airstrips and airports and they probabily will have someone guarding it to stop people from looting it. Always think there may be someone in that building youre going into, no matter which one it is. Boring? Maybe. With these tips some may think youre a coward. Others will think the game would be too boring. I dont think so. I have decent gear and enough to survive. I dont need 7 DMR clips because I dont want to shoot without reason, even if I find another player that might kill me. Once you stop looking for the "thrill of battle", you realize acquiring survival skills and experience about the game, landscape and scouting can be just as rewarding. The deal is that when you have good gear and dont need to loot as much you are left with barely any objectives. Some, like me, look for tents and vehicles (even through Ive never found any so far). Others will try to acquire the best military gear avaiable, like nightvision goggles, military rifles, sniper suits. Others get good guns and start killing people for fun. I started playing this game because of the stories and awesome videos I´ve seen in Youtube. Yet all those were made with cooperative play. The way the game is right now you can barely talk with strangers because of the danger of being shot on first sight. I hope in the future people will realize the pleasure of playing with other people, even strangers, is more interesting than shooting them for their gear (which is not that essential, IMHO), and the focus of the game will change. I hope this post was usefull for some people, even if extremely long. If youve liked it please reply so the post remains in the first page.

Love the new changes, aside from the FPS issue.. but that's been identified already. :) The game feels way more intense now and a lot more about true survival. The zombies are insane, but i like that i can get away even without shooting now. Great changes. Also props for fixing vehicles.. I found a working tractor last night, was super fun.. until I love taped a tree and it exploded hahaha.

WRONG BANNED OF "EU6" FOR USING BUGS
Ninefingers replied to watsukette's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
We got banned from EU6 because we killed the server admins team, and we were just about to loot their corpses (and 3 of ours which fell aswell) and take their Humvie, a bunch of sore loosers abusing their admin status, not only we did not get their equipement but we lost our own, NVG's, Fnfal, M4A3 CCO SD, our 2 vehicles etc, if anyone should be banned it's them not us ... -
EU 40 admin (Dregek) is a cheater!
LdW-BinarySoul replied to ldw-troublemaker's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
He think, we are silly. He starts an other Server and hope, we dont notice that. Other "Server Message", the Camp (about 25 Tends) vanish, all the vehicles (about 8) vanish and so on. He just save his cheated gear with starting an other server-instance if he get killed. -
EU 40 admin (Dregek) is a cheater!
insumsnoy replied to ldw-troublemaker's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
The same thing happened to me last week. Stumbled across a HUGE camp, I couldnt beleive my luck there where loads of vehicles just like you said. Started looting some tents and vehicles. couldnt carry any more so I got in a 4x4 and drove off. Less than a minuite later the server goes down. Funny thing is it was the same server you are posting about, EU 40. -
Our clan raided a hudge camp on EU 40 server. About 20 tents, 10 vehicles, lots (I mean really LOTS) of weapons like M107's, SD-Weapons, Backpacks, SD-Ammo,... While one of us was looting the tents, the others covered him. We stole them a vehicle, and suddenly another player spawned at the camp. We shot him and right after that (about 15 seconds) the server was shut down. That happened twice to us and we were told by a guy in our TS, that exactly the same thing, on exactly same server happened to him too. YOU ARE A COWARD NOOB CHEATER DREGEK!!! Don't play on this server, cause the admin is cheating! He and his mates collect loot and as soon as somebody enters their camp, the server shuts down!

The issue regarding this mod, the people who bought the game for DayZ
H@buster replied to privatewolf's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
OP, please stop making such stupid generalizations. I bought ARMA 2 just for this and I'm not one bit what you described, neither are the other people whom I play with who bought it just for this. I used to play COD (before it went downhill after MW1) and I spent lots of hours in BF3. I played L4D as well, but I DID NOT expect this to be a fast paced game. I even wish the server I go to most often was 1st person only (because 3rd person is cheap as hell). I don't even know how people would get bored with this quickly, there's so much to do! - Finding a secure location for a camp - Finding and patching up vehicles - Finding NVGs (still haven't found any in >70 hours :-/ ) - Stalking people and taunting them over direct chat - Running through cherno and crying out "friendly" whenever I see someone and actually surviving that way - etc etc etc The problem is not people buying ARMA 2 for DayZ, the problem is people being stupid as fuck AND youtube videos displaying the game for something it simply is not. -
3 restarts without any notice? We lost vehicles due of this.

Looking for someone to play with on a veteran EU server
Eccentric posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Looking for someone to play with, as a group. Abit about me: My ingame name is Rain (steamid: R4!N). I am from Norway, 24 yr old guy. Been playing DayZ since April, as an activ player. Unfortunatly, the ppl I usally play with does'nt play DayZ that much anymore. So I would like to team up with some other group, for some fun play. I have good experience with navigation around Chernarus, as I am familiar with most of the places in the game now. Know where to find weapons, spawnpoints for vehicles, parts to repair vehicles and other useful miscellaneous items. You can often find me playing on the norwegian servers. My ROE(rules of engagement) is: Whenever i play solo I shoot first, ask later. But whenever in a group with voip, this changes to ask first to see if he/she is someone from the group. I prefer to play on european servers with veteran status. Which means no third person view and no crosshair(but not as important than 3rd person).:D
