Helicopters were not added to the game when the vehicles were pushed out to the majority of the servers. They will come at a later date :) -

What I'd like to see if a Map which shows the wiki spawn locations for equipment, guns, and or vehicles. Also MORE IMPORTANTLY!! a way to draw on the map for marking (like ACE) to share with your team and or to keep track of your tents / areas. Also I'm interested in beta testing. I'll send a PM. -
I don't think there's any way for someone to give us our vehicles back. I took the liberty of taking the rare items out of the vehicles specifically in case this kind of thing happened, but still... I would like my vehicles back.

Personally, I think there a few things that could add a lot to the game regarding the radios and other things. A lot/all of these suggestions already exist but I'd like to hear all thoughts in the same place :) (1) Radios. - 1-way radio with set stations that you can access by changing frequency, maybe an emergency broadcast type thing that could warn players of changes in the map (if more dynamic events were implemented such as zombies migrating etc.) or maybe a carefree radio DJ who has accepted that life has gone to shit and now plays old music through the radio to cheer people up (kind of like Fallout). (2) Forts that can be constructed by players. This is a suggestion that keeps popping up and I think it's a very good suggestion that can be implemented. - The general building material can be wood. Of course it would require a lot of wood but using the warfare/commander system that's already in the game I think this is very possible. Change the currency to wood and give players the ability to find blueprints. If you find wall blueprints, for example, You can build walls (maybe have different blueprints for different size walls) and if you have garage blueprints you can build a garage to park vehicles in. This brings me on to: - Blueprints Those of you familiar with the warfare mode (I believe is what it's called) the player is given the role of commander and using money gained from different acts and that other currency (I forget what it is) this player can build different buildings such as MG nests and barracks. I think this should be implemented in Day Z but for much more rudimentary structures. The player will find blueprints (rare) around the map allowing them to build different structures. Blueprints can include walls, gates, chests, garages and watchtowers (and so much more). Gates would have to have some kind of lock or keypad or something to prevent just anyone getting in (unless that's the intention). Large groups (and even very dedicated solo players) can forge their own small settlement for storing vehicles/loot etc. I also think that players should have the ability to use explosives to destroy walls and raid the camp. Adding this feature would also provide a use for the big open fields that have nothing going for them. Also I think the player should need a toolbox etc. in order to build this stuff, not just wood and blueprints. They would have to make it so players cannot log inside the fort to prevent raiders from going to a different server, logging out and logging in inside the fort and stealing all the stuff. Of course I realise this could be very difficult to implement and many variables have to taken into account but I can dream, right? I feel like the fort system could be developed into a major part of the game, allowing players to create things using equipment and wood like a large board with a map on it for other players who perhaps don't have a map to use but can't take around with them. Personally if this was in the game I'd make it my personal mission to create my own fort (being a usually solo player) and make it accessible to other players. I would have the helpful stuff there like a map and I would allow players to take from the storage. This is because I generally get a buzz from helping people but doing directly on "Day Z - shoot on sight simulator" can be a bit difficult. At the moment I spend most of my in game time looting military bases trying to get NVG and the weapons I want and because of this I end up leaving behind A LOT of other weapons and ammo/supplies. I could take these back to my storage and have my fort be a kind of oasis for players in an otherwise bleak world. The only problem I see with this is if there is a player there when I come to fill it up and they aren't exactly the trusting type. Another problem I see is if the servers get too full of these forts and people don't any space to build their own. It would probably also cause a lot of lag in the server when a player is creating a fort. (3) Change the sound system At the moment sound is calculated from the speed you are going and surface you are on. Because of this bicycles apparently make a lot of noise. I find this disappointing because once upon a time I wanted a bicycle thinking it would provide a fast but quiet mode of transportation (I'm generally a solo player and like stealth) but now I don't because of how sound works. It works pretty well when on foot but maybe they could change it for individual vehicles, so that bikes are quiet and other motorised vehicles are loud. (4) Food and drink. It really annoys me that our character can starve or die of thirst in a matter of hours. People can go days without nutrients so why is it Day Z characters die after a few hours? I don't know how well this would work but I'd much rather cans of drink were deleted from the game and tins of food were extremely rare (I'd say get rid of tins and have only cooked meat but matches are pretty rare). In my opinion empty water bottles should be pretty rare and players should be limited to 1 bottle and should have to drink once a day at the very most. This means players will have to refill their water bottle at a pump or a pond and not just carry a lot of cans. We should have different factors affect the rate at which hunger increases. Cold should make hunger increase more as well as running. We should only have to eat once on a less active day. (5) Have the ability to customise your civilian clothing in the beginning. Civilian clothing is the same for everybody and, to be honest, I don't think that everybody in Chernarus dressed the exact same way. I think we should be able to edit our civilian clothing when we create our characters, even if it is just a choice between a few colours and pieces of clothing. Not only does this help you feel more attached to your character but it can be used by clans and groups to identify each other. If my friend likes to wear all pink clothing and I see someone in all pink clothing then, chances are, it is going to be my friend. Also, hats.

Cant believe they fixed zombies hitting through walls! This is great, now they just have to make villages and buildings possible to be taken over as a home, with entrances and all. And fix the server resetting deleting vehicles(or the clan ppl that reset after they lose vehicles)

On the second page of this section, there's a vid about fixing helis. Here: I haven't flown one yet, but have repaired a few other vehicles (although it appears the heli is much different). From what I can see it looks like it's completely out of fuel? I've been looking all around the last couple of days across a few different servers for a heli at known spawn locations, and nothing. Alright everyone. I'll be posting a bit of statistics gathered from database. (I wont be posting the statistics already available on the main website or things we cant record at the moment) For example: After removing empty tents from servers (they will despawn after next server restart) there are currently 21952 total tents. Current tents where the owner is still alive: 5747 Out of the 206511 players at the time of this post, about 19% of the total players play as a female survivor. The top 3 most commonly destroyed vehicles are the: Ikarus (the bus) Tractor Bicycle Ever wondered the kill/death ratio of your clan/corp/alliance/group? I can probably help you out with that. Ask and be answered!

Why not, at least for the time being, use the vehicles as fortifications for the central trade area? Parking them the right way would provide a barrier or a kind of wall around a small area where players could feel relatively safe and in cover. Parking them in a semi-circle, backed up to the side of a building, would work too. Probably only one guard would be needed per vehicle, to make sure no one steals one and drives away with it. -
Hello DayZ brothers. I have a question regarding Item Duping and/or Hacking. I'm what is considered a noob to ARMA2 and DayZ as I purchased the game simply to play the mod a few weeks ago now. I like to think I familiarized myself with the game fairly well to the point where I can easily answer newcomers' questions by memory; However, I have no idea what should be or not be in the game regarding items or vehicles.... I have read in various places as well as have been told via chat and by other DayZ players that if you pick up a duped or hacked item/vehicle that should not be in the game you will be banned without question. My question is... how am I supposed to know what is supposed and not supposed to be in the game? Even if I had a huge list of items that are "acceptable", it would be impossible to remember them all by heart and I cannot be alt+tabbing to check the list for confirmation every time I run across loot or a dead body. This frightens me because I don't want to come across a dead player body or kill a player myself only to think I hit the jackpot after finding some awesome sniper rifle or equipment tool of some kind only to find it was hacked into the game somehow and I was banned without even knowing what I was doing. If this is the way situations like these are handled, by just banning without question then I would say this is a serious problem to new players who have no idea such as myself. Can anyone please touch on this subject? I would like to note that this has NOT happened to me so I am not QQ'ing, I would just like to know in order to avoid such things if possible. ======= Several have suggested that I some how memorize the 'official' DayZ weapons wiki to confirm whether a weapon is valid or not found here: http://dayzwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Weapons However, I think we can all agree how terrible it would be to have to alt+tab out of the game just to confirm down the list of weapons to make sure it's okay. This would expand to being more trouble some when it involves weapons, items and vehicles if you had to constantly alt+tab out. Furthermore, the wiki page can be edited by anyone thus not being completely secure and the page is said to be official yet it clearly shows UNOFFICIAL. I did further investigation on the wiki page and came across this log by a moderator: "Incorrect data is being added Copenhagen and m4a1 holo sd dont exist in the game mp5sd is duplicated, we really need to do something about this, the site is being abused by people who dont know what they are talking about, i sometimes think that its done just to troll me :/ I protected the page so only admins can modify it to prevent abuse. I'll remove the Copenhagen, and I'll check the M4A1 Holo SD (since I think it's a valid weapon). Fresh and really cool idea, I want that in the game ! maybe make car parts less likely to spawn in industrial zones, so that it would be more balanced ? Also why not being able to take out parts from working vehicles ? would add more freedom and choices. -
Currently the vehicles seem a little bit of a bonus, and they are unstable, anyone can steal it at any point. I don't mind the fact it can be stolen when you are online. It is your job to defend it, but when you logoff it seems unfair. So here's my idea. When you find the newly spawned vehicles you can take the key. You can only start the engine, and open the boot of the car with this key. If you wish to steal the vehicle you must kill the owner of the vehicle and loot the key. (the key doesn't take an inventory slot, it's like a special item slot. Now in order to stop people just taking keys off all the spawned cars, you must fix up the car to a working order before you can take the key.(don't moan that this is unrealistic, in this game you can do a full blood transfusion in 5 seconds) Now this means you can logoff and know that your vehicle is safe (Not from being destroyed) Because lets be honest, it's kind of unrealistic that every survivor can hot wire every type of vehicle including boats and heli's! This could be interesting because you may see a jeep parked up just outside cherno, then you could maybe wait it out for the owner to return. Or you could be a dick and just blow it the fuck up :)

False. Destroyed vehicles do not respawn. False, destroyed vehicles do respawn. This bug was recently fixed, about a week ago. However, they don't respawn where they were last saved. They respawn at their specific map-based spawn location. If you found it at its original spawn location, that's where it will be. If you stole it form someone, it'll respawn where they found it. (again, assuming they found it at its original spawn point) -
What happened: I had found an L85A2 CWS at a chopper, held on to it for several days and each night when i logged off I would put it in my backpack. I always checked it was there before lifting my other primary off the ground. I then go and hide and wait a minute or two to ensure my location is static and hidden just in case. While doing that I look at my stuff, checking i have food and drinks etc....and look at my prize possession again. I then log out. Same routine last night but today, the server is updated to beat 93701 so I update the beta patch as normal and i log in for two very strange things to happened that seem like very suspicious coincidences given that no one should have access to my gear while I'm logged off and the server I always play on has always been UTC -9 which it states very clearly in the server list description. My L85A2 is gone from my backpack having been replaced by a makarov. No makarov rounds were present in my pack but my Stanag rounds for the L85 were still there, which, had i switched the weapon out back into the jeep by accident, the Stanag rounds would have went back with it. Now, I'm not saying this is more than a coincidence...(that's why I'm posting this as a bug)...but the server today (I logged off last night at 10:30 UTC realtime in daylight on the server) still states -9 UTC in the description yet is now UTC -14 on the watch in game meaning today is complete darkness on the server...shame i don't have my L85 with night vision any longer. Is storage space in vehicles/tents segregated like in your player's inventory, or is it one large pool like in your pack? Example: Say you have a car with 50/10/2 storage space, can that hold 50 misc items AND 10 weapons AND 2 bags, or by adding a pistol do I now have room for only 45 more items? I have read contradicting information about how this works, so if anyone can confirm this that would be awesome to have a final say on the matter.

at what time do servers do a tent/vehicle server-reset?

anyone know what time the servers get reset to where tents and vehicles appear again? im guessing that its global across all servers once a day, or is this incorrect? i went to bed last night and woke up this morning hoping to find my tent/vehicle when i woke up but it was still gone. so im guessing either the server hasn't done its once-a-day reset that returns tents, or that it did it's reset but since then has crashed getting rid of all tents again. -

US61 is down. Does this server have autorestart feature? Well, its up now but have no tents. Looks like first start after crashing will be with this bug were tents and vehicles are not spawning. Please restart it asap. -

Ill look at it today. If there is no natural cover we are going to need a lot of sandbags. And if no concealment it wont be a good "safe zone" there is an island however with just a light house but its very steep and small. Not much flat ground. Not very comfortable for a trading post The moving camp is starting to sound better and better lol. I just dont see how its feasable as safe. How would anyone know where we are, what we are and who we are. Unless we can pick up and move a substantial amount of fortification equipment easily around the vehicles than its not possible -

Thanks for the new server. Been fun so far. Just one small thing: Could you give some warning in advance when you have to restart the server? Then the players could save their stuff. We're kind of left guessing where we last saved our vehicles right now. -

I'm hosting a server through HFBServers.com Dallas-49 Ive read that it is a good idea to restart your server every 6-8 hours to keep it running smooth. I have only done one restart on the server, and somebody told me later they lost a vehicle they had fixed. If I manually restart the server through the HFBServers.com control panel, does this reset spawns, + saved things such as tents / vehicles? I'm new to hosting to bare with me please! Hey guys we are having trouble with our land vehicles, They don't seem to be re-spawning or spawning at all. A few players said their vehicles had vanished and that they cant find any at their usual spawn locations. Boats seem to be fine and apparently peddle bikes are also unaffected. The problem seems to have started after i had restarted the server to update the MOTD. So yea... Cant find any ground vehicles (cars, 4x4, trucks etc) Any help appreciated Cheers.
