@aesaunic 40 slots its the minimum you are allowed to run. This is a new dayz rule not ours. @chucklemonkey we no longer offer servers in either of those locations. only atlanta and seattle. Vehicles are enabled on all servers up to 2000 which all of our servers are under that number. try restarting your mission from in game. We are thinking of some ways of server offsets but its not an easy task with the control panel we use. Thank you :) @peperonikiller If you can not seem to find any restart your mission from in-game. it will usually force them to spawn. Also i got a nice 12 hours of sleep thats why i did not reply sooner. but dont worry im setting up servers as fast as i can now.

Anyone whos played Project Reality knows what a stamina can do to shape player behavior. It's not always about making the game realistic, but rather stop an unrealistic action. In this case it's unrealistic that people would run kilometers around the forests and stop for 5seconds and be ready to thread a needle. Things like fear and adrenaline are most likely possible with the engine, and would add to the experience in my opinion. Maybe being chased by X number of zeds triggers adrenaline which give you increased stamina but less accuracy? Fear, if they're too close you start to lose accuracy? Similar to needing pain meds but less intense. He already screams when they're too close. Why automatically assume something like this will ruin the game? Rocket would do it in a good way I'm sure. Sometimes those moments are forced upon you' date=' not being able to run or escape from an encounter is stupid. players would be forced to use their ammo or gun IF they have one and those without would automatically be dead. Imagine when your playing stealthy and someone starts shooting at you, how are you going to feel when you run for 10 seconds then start walking in the middle of being shot at for no reason? Everything a player has worked and tried for will be lost. Those are only a few examples, travel without vehicles would be completely forgotten, everyone would be crowding the cities and coastline because of deaths or not wanting to spend half an hour just to travel a few hundred meters. [/quote'] Never did I say I wanted someone to run for 10 seconds and then walk. I even said the current "out of breath" state comes too quickly. Way to take my desire for a stamina system and twist it to you fucked up views. You can hide from zombies now, let's make it a requirement, give people something like 5 minutes of run time, once they tire themselves out they'll have to walk, and the stamina regenerates for a short period(60s?). Shorter if you stop or sit down. If you aggro zombies and run for more than 5minutes, you should die IMO. The game isn't that hard, the map isn't that huge.

The server has been mislabeled as 1.7 , or 1.7.1 for some time now even though it has been keeping with patches and been intentionally using past patches but current patch data to leave less players on this up to date server. This is the only grit I can prove it on. The Server Admin is on frequently and the camp we had hidden away was just raided today, obviously there is the possibility that it was scouted but of course unlikely given the server population rarely going above 6-9 players ever. Of the players on the server the server admin was the only one we knew who had the logictics to completely loot the camp we had in the short timespan of about 30minutes, as the vehicles in the camp would be incapable of carrying the 3-4 tents worth of equipment as the vehicles were also full. In anycase although the admin *appears* to be running a legit server, he's obviously trying to keep it lower profile by mislabeling it. It may be note worthy that only a 2 days ago it was Chicago 49. I'm not mad about the loss rather suspicious about admin abuse hearing that it is indeed possible for Server admins to have full access and knowledge of all these locations and are allowed to even play on their own server.

By an off chance there can be a vehicle rollback at some point. Happened to me and my mates. We had the VS3 and a military offroad stashed somewhere and somebody raided our camp and stole both the vehicles. We were pretty bummed but moved on and then later the same day after a server restart/crash one of our members logged in the vicinity of our old camp and the VS3 was standing in our old camp (the offroad was missing still). I bet the guys who got it from us were pretty unhappy about that since they didn't take anything out of it (or the items were duped). We then hauled it's contents onto a better server we found. So yes. Vehicles can disappear on you randomly. Your best bet would be to revisit where it was standing the moment you found it.

1. There are places to find loot around these builings. There are a couple small sheds, outhouses and even dog houses sometimes have loot. Tho the dog house seems to be bugged, most of the time it's in the air above it and can't be accessed. 2. There are helicopter crash sites, castles and hunting platforms. And you get wood from the forest and water from the lake, broken down vehicles scattered all over the place. But, I would love to see some more random stuff like the crash sites. Military road blocks, Outposts, crashed jets with pistols and smoke, overrun convoys, random airdropped crate in middle of forest, mass graves, 3. Disagree.

Forgot to mention, but I saved the vehicle before we logged off. Does anything remove vehicles (server reset, what do you mean by server dies?) or did someone just steal our truck?
-
How do you get a vehicle to persist? The other night I found a military truck (well friend stole it by murdering the two occupants with a shotgun after they broke his legs trying to run him over) and my friends and I parked it deep in the woods no where near anything or on a route between areas. When we logged back in our truck was missing so. It's possible someone found it and took it, but I'd like to make sure I know the rules behind how this works as well. How long does a vehicle stay where it is on that server? Does a server reset place the vehicle back where it was like it does with tents? How do I get a vehicle to remain there for us to use when we play again?

Add way of adding people to your group
FrankDaTank1218 (DayZ) replied to justiceabove's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I think joining a group should be done like this: If you walk up to a player, a context action should appear when next to them, like the "give Morphine/Bandages" option, it would be "invite to group" or something, and the player who receives the invite can accept or decline it through the context menu. -Only group members nametags come up if you aim at them. -Group members locations show up on the map. -Tents, fences, campfires, and tank traps made by groupmates show up on the map, as well as vehicles used or repaired by groupmates. -Group members only stay in the group for that one instance on the server, if they leave to another server or log off at all, they have to find the members and re invite them to have the group again, AKA groups shouldn't be persistent. -
For a trial run it went pretty well, all things considered. I went in expecting all of us to die, though with 16 people there's not too much of a chance of that. Mostly we just gotta figure out communication, discipline, and security. On the topic of the boat, that's a much longer term goal. Once we get the server sorted out (we're looking for something with at least nametags), we can proceed to figure out vehicles. And imagine what it'd be like to walk into a warehouse with 16 guns pointed at you :D

UK6 server gone mad
replied to 's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Hah well yeah I suppose but the only way to avoid it would be to find another vehicle on another server and stash them there, however with the state of the game as it is the now iv been losing vehicles left right and centre due to the servers fucking up with the patches so at the moment it seems there is no point in spending any time finding nice weapons which renders at least 50% of playing this game useless -
You can join by simply adding the [beanditz] tag to your profile! We have no rules, we do have guidelines to enhance your gaming experience however, I'll list those at the end of my post. Currently we're using skype as a voip, however we have a 500 slot ventrilo server at our disposal. Now for a little speech: We Beanditz are a proud and respected bandit clan. We do not kill without reason. We do not kill without hesitation. We do however, kill for the lulz. == Beanditz Guidelines == *When interrogating an unarmed survivor, always allow a bribe of 1 can of beans. If this fine is paid, give them and item and send them along. If they refuse then DESTROY THEM! *Do not kill someone because they have better gear than you, that's boring as shit and everyone does that. Instead, kill them and loot them, then fill their entire inventory with FLASHLIGHTS! *Don't steal vehicles unless they are within "direct voice range". No point in stealing it if you can't taunt them. Instead get far off in the woods and snipe the vehicle every time they try to repair it. Trolling to the MAX! *ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS carry some sexy beans on your person. If the bean god catches you without a companion who knows what may happen?f

Haha well that happens sometimes... Anyway I do like your ideas. I think it would be better if you could strip some vehicles down for parts so you don't have to search for them. Maybe even add a gas siphon option or something. With the helicopters I agree. Even though I've never found one yet I've seen pictures and they look like it would be rather difficult to find anything in the overgrown grass.

Everyone has been at that point where you just needed that one more part to fix up your vehicle. Ofcourse in that situation the item you're looking for never is there but an abundance of other items which you don't need. What i'm suggesting isnt for items to be balanced spawns(one of each in a factory for example) since i think the current system of randomisation is fine. What i'm thinking of is that parts from vehicles should be detachable. Let's say you find 2 ATV's. Both ATV's need 2 more wheels. What you should be able to do is remove 2 wheels from one ATV and place them on the other one. This doesn't make the game easier in my idea but it does give it more depth. Also another suggestion i would like to make is that crashed helicopter loot should be easier to find on the ground. I've found alot of crashed helicopter spawns in the past week, and i'm not debating whether or not there should be more or less spawns. What i'm simply suggesting is that the loot that is at the helicopter, should be easier to identify. At it's current state, the loot is laying around the helicopter, in the grass. It can be very time consuming to find every part, and even then you can never be completely sure you found everything. As a fix, i would let the gear stay on the same spot, but make the ground it's on stand out more. One idea would be to make the ground "burned out" from the helicopter crash so it's black/grey. A constant color background without vegetation should make gear stand out more and easier to find. I hope these suggestions arent reposts and that you can do something with it.

Bikes need to slow the hell down. My squadmate almost careened into a forest by going so fast on her bike! Also, an increased number of vehicles should be present, of course not operational.
-
Okay so vehicles are obviously one of the biggest "do-wants" in all of DayZ, and have driven most if not all cars in DayZ, even the huey I have to say that Vehicles have to be fixed, fast. Vehicles are so useful in DayZ, but this is negated due to the fact that they're more fragile than your limbs which seem to be held in place by nutella. Take the V3S Truck for example, if you hit a small fence/roadblock at around 5km/h and if the wheels are damaged - it will explode. Get stuck on a fucking aluminium can? It will explode. This happens to pretty much every vehicle, only the Military Offroad seems to be working properly. So what has to be fixed: • Vehicles take WAY too much damage from hitting objects. • Can survive tons of bullets, a tin can? Fuck no. You die. • Vehicles get stuck on objects too easily and usually results in the vehicle exploding. • Inventory "Calculator" - Showing how much room is used and how much it has, very much like the backpacks. • ATVs flip from nothing, ATVs are meant to be offroad but as soon as they go offroad - they will flip eventually. Seems to be highly reproducible going uphill. • ATVs needs to either be fixed or given the option to flip it back. • Cars are too slow off-road. • More? That's pretty much all I can come up with right now, if anyone else have some ideas/suggestions feel free to post them and I'll add them to the list!

Rocket I love you: Going out of bounds - exploit or acceptable?
Shoarmaboer replied to Publik's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
As someone who has attempted to build camps outside of map boundaries I can tell you that it's pretty much undoable now. Afaik you can place tents out of the boundaries but you cannot actually interact with them, and that also counts for any item you drop outside the map boundaries aswell (buggy behaviour, you can only see tents when you look at them with a zoomed view or bino's). Also due to some vehicle hotfixes there's a chance for vehicles to explode/despawn when they are outside of map boundaries, we've already had it happen to us once after a server reboot. This just means you have to find a good hiding spot within the map boundaries and hope for the best. As a member from a pretty big group (8+) I can say that this is actually a good thing, because it makes it hard for us to have keep alot of vehicles around. This causes us to 'ditch' vehicles we really don't need and it gives other players a chance to obtain a vehicle and reap its benefits :D. -
#Writeable Notes //Players can place and edit notes for other players. They can be placed on bodies, loot area's, broken vehicles, tents, etc. #Fox Holes //Players can stockpile loot like a tent but in a more realistic way, with a fox hole.

The best part was when they moved to a new location after the initial raid (which at the time they just assumed it was a legit raid) that is when things got weird as within hours of their new camp set-up, it had been found, and ripped them to shreds. Fishy, hell yeah it is. BTW, the server restart wasnt them. Just the server doing its scheduled restart. If it was them, and they were being malicious, why would they wait til after those guys stole everything? Also, that server message has been on their for weeks, and it clearly doesnt say anything about stealing loot, it says loot farming. Big difference. Ever wonder why places like the firehouse are completely blocked off by barbed wire with no way in or out? That's a loot farmer inside it server hopping to the firehouse in dozens of server, and is an exploit and IMO should be very bannable. Their is a huge infux of cheating and hacking in Day z atm. Teleporters, aimbots, wallhacks, ammo crate spawning, scripts to detect where all vehicles are on the map ect ect. It's really getting out of hand, and Battleeye is severely limiting what an admin can do about it. Ive never heard of a game that doesnt log who killed someone. Arma 3 needs Punkbuster. At least with it admins have some tools at their disposal (pb screenshots, pbbans, cvar/md5 checks) that they can utilize to help detect cheaters. Right now Battleeye just doesnt cut it.

Atlanta 42 is fresh and some vehicles just re-spawned. It's only a 30 slot but it will be 45 soon. You should come by sometimes.

i love the idea of two large groups going at it in all out war, both sides could be ready for a huge attack, Trading Post being the best equipped but bandits have the element of surprise. Helicopter attack whilst people are charging the post and vehicles zooming in to get close enough to jump out and try to infiltrate. when/if servers get bigger (100-200).... would be enough to make even the most strong boweled men poo in excitement

And I suppose you guys want rid of hunger, thirst, temperature, weather, cooking, hunting, using meds and gathering materials / fuel for vehicles too? Since these things aren't exactly amazingly fun and maybe too "realistic" for your zombie game. Realism and survival simulation are a huge part of this mod. Even the description on the dev heaven site (which I assume rocket wrote) says: "The first and thus best, free-roaming, SURVIVAL MOD for Arma 2. Comes with a free side order of Zombies" So yes, zombies aside, I'd like some consistent realism with the survival mod.

My suggestions to add new gameplay elements
bad_mojo (DayZ) replied to herd's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Fine, I'll bite. Incoming wall of text, beware! Like was said above, you get a warning, when you get too close they verbally freak out, when they aggro, they freak even more. Also, how does this allow for better sneaking? If you're seen you shouldn't get a grace period before you get attacked. Think realistically here, if you're spotted, you're spotted, end of story. Not to mention this would only improve sneaking for the people who suck at it. Changing the HUD is going to be purely cosmetic, so it's not really worth our time analyzing that. But, your idea about the eye telling you when zombies are about to or have spotted you is making things way too easy on people. Why would anyone use flares, flashlights or chemlights if the magical icon tells you when you get close to a zombie? Why should I know that zombies might be able to hear me on the other side of a wall or object? If anything like this was to be implemented, it should be a totally different icon, maybe a zombie face with bars when you get close. But I don't want to see it happen. They stop when you get out of their line of sight. Run through a building or around some trees or other objects. Once you get out of sight, start sneaking and move away because they look around from the last place they saw you. I can't comment on how broken melee is since I haven't used it myself. I did watch another survivor crawl up to zeds and wack them with 1 shot of the axe. So, it didn't look broken to me. But you mention bleeding/broken legs as the reason melee is broken? I'm confused about that bit. Doesn't matter how many zombies you aggro, getting out of LOS will lose the whole pack usually. Not sure what you're suggesting here, since you just said you what you think is broken. No, simply no. Broken bones and bleeding are what keep people from mingling with the zeds. There needs to be a consequence for getting hit or for not having full blood level. This suggestion seems like it would just make the game easier. Disagreed, a large axe or crowbar is about the same size weight of a rifle, not a pistol. Leave the melee for people without firearms. The zombies already drop ammo, food, drinks, bandages, meds, etc. So they already drop useful items in my opinion. Perhaps you could elaborate on this one? What kinds of items did you imagine they'd drop? I could maybe agree with more variety based on type of zombie, like a soldier zombie would have a rare drop of a frag grenade or smoke. But, I don't think giving them stuff of significant value would be smart since the zombies respawn and could be farmed/grinded. I think there is more than enough loot already in the game. If you look at some of the maps on google it's amazing how much stuff is in every town/city. There is a chance loot won't spawn, so while it might seem like there is none sometimes, it's just the luck of the draw. This is something similar to what I've suggested, I wanted more vehicles and rarer parts. But, I've heard that vehicles are a big source of lag for the servers, so adding more might not be feasible. Hell no! It sure as hell doesn't add to my "atmosphere" if i see a wall of fog 200m in front of me at all times. I'd even like to see this go the other way and the view distance increased. What's it at now? ~500m? Not sure what you're doing wrong, but I can go prone in the grass and be invisible to zeds when not moving. No bars on ear or eye icons. Yeah, I could dig it, but then why don't we turn into zombies when we get hit/bit? And how long would this guy walk around for? Would it benefit the game if we had player bodies full of loot running around everywhere? Whos machine figures out his pathing if nobody is near him? Does he cease to exist if nobody is within view/spawn distance? I have heard this suggestion a few times, and there is a lot of discussion about it in other threads. Nah, infected humans should all be the same. Unless maybe you added body armor to the soldiers and made them barely take damage when shot in torso. But even then, they would take 1 m1911 round to the arm and be dead. This idea could be good, depending on how it was tackled. They're infected humans, so a bullet in the brain will mean death, infection or not. Even if they were the walking dead, I don't think this would add to gameplay, it would just appear to most players that the death of zombies is bugged. It goes against logic to kill something and randomly have it come back to life. What? Was it sleeping? LOL -
Are items permanent when you drop em on the ground?
Greenhound replied to purplehazetoss's topic in New Player Discussion
No, if you want to save items you'll need a camping tent or a vehicle with storage space. Then you will need to note down the server this was on, as camping tents and vehicles are only saved server-side. Also, make sure you hide it well. -
