10 Vehicles a script? Are you kidding? Either you're terrible at the game or your group doesn't search for vehicles. Our group has about 6-8 people and we have virtually all the unique vehicles plus a bunch of ATVs. That is to say we do now. Within a week who knows how many will have been stolen or blown up. Banning for hoarding vehicles is a terrible reason and there is no way it should be allowed. If the vehicles were off the map, then they should just have their position reset. If not then of course it's a valid way to play the game - it's not like you can never find them - as is obviously the case as THE ADMIN FOUND THEM. If they don't use the vehicles they get reset anyway. So stop with the butthurt.

There are plenty of vehicles ~20, but the problem is that within hours a new server they are all hoarded off the map :\ . I just got my new server running a few days ago and I saw broken vehicles for about 2 hours, and after that they were ALL gone... It's been up for 3 days and I doubt I'll even get to see any besides the occasional boat which I just blow up in hopes for another land vehicle...

If they implement this they would also need moving vehicles to spawn zombies at cities. I have heard before that you can enter a city with a vehicle and no zombies spawn until you exit the vehicle. Dont know if its true or not.

No. Tents and vehicles are not attached to character at all. The only feature you will lose that you will not able to pack tent back after you die. Thread should be updated or closed. Oh I see, tysm for answer!

LU64 banning people for vehicle hoarding
Gosha replied to 's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
there are alot more vehicles, but many of them spawn in the coastal cities which gives them approximately no time whatsoever before someone comes blowing them up before anyone gets a chance to repair it :p -
lol man, i nearly poo'd myself when i logged in and i saw someone standing next to our UAZ. i was yelling on our teamspeak for someone to identify themselves, but it was too late, you got me. the next hour and a half was grueling as we tried to defend our camp while picking up our group so we could shift everything. i'm really not sure how vehicles work that haven't been saved/are being hoarded and not used. i'm assuming after X days of non use and a server reboot they will respawn somewhere...but i don't really know. it's not in my power at all to respawn these vehicles. regarding my friend, it wasnt a kill over a post, we were defending what we've been gathering. It was kill on sight after our UAZ got nabbed. he's just an idiot.

What do crowbars do in this game? Can you fix up the really broken looking cars and such? Or is it just certain vehicles that you can? Can you put weapons in ur starter backpack? Can you fly jets or helicopters? THanks!

How big is your group and what loot have you got?
KField86 replied to miragexl's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Let's see... my main group has about 5 or so people who play not including me. Much more play but times are varied. Me: M24/FN FAL/Silenced M9/All the other necessities Other #1: AS-50/FN FAL/1911 All the other goodies Other #2 DMR/FN FAL/G17/ ** Other #3 M4A3 CCO/1911/** Other #4 M16-203/Bizon SD/** Other #5 DMR/M4A1 CCO SD/** And our other guy who comes on occasionally, has another AS-50/MP5-SD and Silenced M9. Some assorted vehicles, tents, ghillies, camo, toolkits, blahblahblah. My kit would of been an M107/FN FAL/Silenced M9 today had my backpack not ate the barrett. FUUUU -
Crowbars are the only other melee weapon besides hatchet. Only certain vehicles can be repaired, and the ones that can don't look blown up and are enter-able (via mouse wheel) even if they need to be repaired. Super chancy, I think some weapons might fit, but 10 slot is recommended. Only helicopters, there are no jets.

Okay' date=' tell me what do you like about DayZ. Maybe I should point you in the direction of other zombie mods for ArmA 2. I'm sure they'll be better too without riding on ArmA 2's back. I mean I'm SO sure DayZ would be amazing without the large maps, collection of weapons, vehicles, player models, buildings, simulated weather, physics, night and day cycle, simulated ballistics, simulated wind that affects bullets, trees, grass, etc...I want you to tell me what DayZ is, in a nutshell. What does DayZ contain? Let me lay it out for you. Okay, what you generally have in DayZ is, mission scripts, UI scripts, a few custom zombie/melee animations, some custom object models, custom zombie sounds, custom soundtracks, hrm... What else is there? Can you name something that DayZ NEEDS from ArmA 2 to make it as interactive and hardcore as it is now? Oh wait, hold on I can answer that for you. It's ArmA 2. DayZ NEEDS ArmA 2 to be as good as it is now. Trust me, it's not like that. Go into any Warfare server and you can do whatever you want. Take an F-35, fly around and shoot Russians. Nobody will tell you anything to do. Unless you're playing on a hardcore ACE server...Yeah that's a different story.

Hacker spawns planes and cars for everyone on Seattle 13

Reports hacker, uses hacked vehicles. Makes sense. -
Exactly' date=' I'd imagine that you'd need an efficient security team to defend the location of this "bank" and any security leak as to the bank's location could result in a massive raiding party. Not to mention, on the subject of a security team, how would you manage that? I figure it would be pretty difficult to find players who would be willing to stand guard for hours at a time and even then you'd have to figure out an efficient supply system for food/water. You mentioned paying your employees? Did you mean a consistent trade of food/water for services rendered? Of course you also have the threat of bandits/survivors following the employee back to the bank location and even then any bandit can ruin your customer's (as well as your employee's) day by killing the employee for loot while they're in-transit. Also, the organisational side of the concept would also be a bit of frustrating if you're using tents. You'd have to figure out how to keep track of each customer's belongings and minimise space for efficiency but also for good tactical sense in order to reduce the risk of the location being found out. Of course, that's if your using tents at all, I'm merely spitting out conjecture. What would be your contingency if your bank's location was discovered by the local server populace? [/quote'] The security team would consist of about 4 trusted members. Guards get bored standing around so I would have 2 or 3 go loot surrounding areas. There would be 1 0r 2 guards who would stay and patrol. They would also be on a rotating schedule. The food and water would be provided in part by the customers and also by hunting. The storage place will be near a lake to refill canteens. The employees would receive a cut of what the customer pays. They also have the advantage of trading with other employees. we would deal with the bandits with the 2 step exchange process. If the bandits follow the employees to the drop off site they will meet armed men. It would be hard to for the bandits to follow the higher ranked employees from the drop off site to the storage site because the items will be transported by vehicles. The tent system will be organized in some way for efficent use. We will have multiple storage sites so if one is discovered then it wont matter that much. Also employees would know the location of only one storage site so if theres a traitor he doesnt get much. Also thought of adding a new rule. If a customer drops something off and leaves it for a set amount of time then they have to either come pick it up or pay again to keep it in storage. If they dont do either of these the item then belongs to us.

Dallas 48 [TOP- BR] Admin Abuse
mannyfresh replied to 's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Sucks. Can't believe you guys got boned like that. It's starting to become all too common however. Nice job though. Just goes to show how important it is to always be recording.. I don't even think unbanning you will give you justice. They need to just vacate the camp and let you guys do what you want with it. Without tampering with any of the tents/vehicles of course. -
Me and my roommates have 7 vehicles so we decided to try and lose one at the NW airfield we drove around for 10 minutes and nothing exciting happened so we drove through cherno then stary and the northeast airfield and nobody shot at us, there were 40 people online also. Seriously lol

As far as I know all servers have vehicles in them. They are usually pretty well hidden either in random forests, or on the edge of the map where no one will ever come. Helicopters don't exist anymore. So don't bother looking for them. And if you ever find one, or see someone flying them -> Cheaters

How big is your group and what loot have you got?
Daddy'o replied to miragexl's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Oh no man you get me wrong. We were never off the map and out of bounds. None of us supported that style of play. If you look at the map, find the NE airport. See the radio mast marked on the north east hill? Directly 1.5km or abouts north of that, in a straight line, there is a round hole in the forest. That was our camp site. It was completely untouched for 3 weeks. Then at the same day about 2 weeks ago, our camp was found and vehicles blown up. The vehicles were hidden even better than the camp itself but not out of bounds either. -
Vehicles would have to be traded on the home server. Also we could set up extra storage areas on different servers so we can run the bank on multiple servers allowing us to exchange more cars. All guns would still be brought to the main server for storage.

How could you do that with vehicles?I like the idea though

Anyone who stumbles upon your vehicles will be a happy camper... Or should I say would have been. We always kept our tents and vehicles at seperate locations so that if they found our camp they wouldn't have an easy way to take everything, or if they found our vehicles they wound find our stuff. You're kind enough to already have everything in the vehicle for anyone who finds it :D -
Sandboxiness, Guard Zones and the Deathmatch thing
Dr. Toros replied to ZekkCC (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Honestly, server-side location and gear would fix two of the main issues with the game: server hopping for loot, and using other servers to effectively teleport to a more advantageous position. We don't need a city with no zeds as much as we need zeds to not continuously respawn. If I clear a city, zeds shouldn't spawn for a while. What would be really cool, would be if there were generators in buildings known to be valuable, that require fuel to operate. When you put fuel in them, quality loot begins to spawn in, but zombies also continuously spawn in (think left for dead finales). This would be too difficult Suddenly, people have a reason to actually kill zombies en masse, and a reason to not just server hop for loot. Make some new items that only spawn through this method, or simply remove high-end items that currently spawn normally, or both. People will have a reason to do something that would require a moderately armed group to invest time, or a heavily armed group to allow efficient resource collection. If you could get great gear only by grouping up (or by killing people who had) more people would do it. The ability to clear a city by killing 30-50 zeds would be a reasonable goal for fresh spawns if they worked together in groups of 2-6, and would give time to really comb through the loot effectively. Initiating finales by powering a generator would give well-equipped groups the ability to get large amounts or high quality gear, but be too difficult for people solo. Suddenly, two different tiers of people have a reason to work together. This game needs more goals that require a group effort, especially for fresher spawns. Zombies also need to be less of an irritation (and their ability to break legs makes them extremely irritating) and more of an actual challenge (as currently you can simply run away with no risk). Not having server-side positions and loot is also a problem, and would make people server hop less, which allows players to get to know each other. Trust could actually be built. You throw a lot of pretty phrases around, but most of this post is either short-sighted or meaningless. This game needs to be improved relentlessly, which is what rocket is doing. It absolutely nails the harshness, the chaos, and the destruction that occurs in an apocalypse. What it is currently lacking is the ability to create anything. You can't create trust because there is no static community. You can't tell friend from foe because there is little to no character customization. You can repair vehicles, but you can't build a base or anything worth defending. Yet. I believe rocket is working hard on fixing things and making this game deeper. We have the tools to break and maim, and can fix some things, but many people want to do the far harder task of creating. -
I don't want the game to feature vehicles at every point of the map, but hell... it's impossible to find any! I was in a group with 3 people, scattered all over Chernarus. We had a map with all vehicle spawnpoints and were going all over the island for several hours, specifically searching for them, right after the server restart. How come that we do not find ANYTHING. Not a single bicycle! Why are there 20 cities and not a single functioning vehicle? It's annoying and unrealistic.

We(6 people) have/had: 1x Old Hatchback 1x Red UAZ 1x V3S Truck 3x ATV 1x Dirtbike 5x AKM with 30 mags(our cookie cutter weapon, if someone dies without being able to retrieve his gear he just grabs an AKM and a couple of mags, good to go) 1x M249 SAW with 5 belts 2x M14 Aimpoint with 20 mags 2x M4A3 CCO with over 40 mags 1x CZ550 with 5 mags 3x AKS74 Kobra with 30 mags 1x MP5A3 with 5 mags Now the problem is we had most of the weapons stored in the Hatchback and UAZ After yesterdays server restart our vehicles refused to spawn Todays server restart respawned the vehicles.....with both the UAZ and Hatchback being EMPTY So basically we lost all the expensive weapons that nobody used anyway....but we managed to keep our vital supplies and spare parts....and I still have my beloved M14 Aimpoint -
That save function saved the inventory of the vehicle in case the server crashes. Not the vehicle/location. And yes, vehicles are bound to their server, so you have to hide it somewhere and join the same server the next time you want to play.
