    Will try that today Levias. Hopefully it helps sudden2k stuff wont despawn. It isn't saved on your server, it's saved at the dayz hive. As long as you save vehicles and tents ingame ofcourse.

    Vehicle Spawn Problem

    I'm sure the vehicles have already spawned, they just aren't in their original positions. It happened to me too, when my new server went up there was barbed wire and tents already put up. Look around, you'll find a vehicle eventually.

    Cars and spawned debris on roads.

    Debris and broken vehicles do not spawn. They are part of the map and persistent across all servers, always exactly the same. Your game lagged and the objects did not render client side until you were inside of them. Internet lag can also cause this to happen sometimes. My one friend lagged so hard on his screen the road was clear but on ours it was not. He ended up getting a bus trapped between a bunch of broken rusted cars in a way that would not be possible to do if they were rendered on his screen.

    Seriously. BF is also a PvP haven with lots of vehicles, weapons, ammo, and even respawning. Oh, wait... Stop being a douchebag.
  8. Alright, how.does loot spawning work? Can someone just afk in one spot and after a certain amount of time, does new loot appear? Or do you have to walk a certain distance away from the spawn location for the loot to be spawned? Same question for the spawning of vehicles? Also is there way to put on a different skin or suit? I keep hearing people talk about gullie suits? How do you get one and apply it to your character?
  9. One of the worst bugs in the game is still around. Why the hell do these guys keep adding new stuff in ptaches, we don't care about bear traps. Just fix the damn game. 1. It does not matter how many sandbags, wire fencing, or tank traps you remove. On server restart they all come back. 2. With this latest amazing and well thought out patch we get to play for hours on end just to find out our progress doesn't get saved. 3. We can still dupe items. 4. We can still disconnect from fights, aggro, and even repair broken bones and refill our water and food. 5. I don't think I need to mention the outfits. 6. I can crash my vehicles, get off of it, get back on it, and everything will be back to green. 7. Can I ask why I need to have a toolbox equipped to remove a sandbag when I can only place one with an entrenching tool?
  10. Im sorry to put a downer on all the positive notes here but i think alot of people are missing the big picture? I mean, Zombies still bugging through walls, Random aggroing from across distances that shouldnt even be remotely possible, the fact that vehicles arnt respawning properly. Not to mention the 10's of cars/vans/trucks that ive tried to repair after them breaking and not being able to get in them to see what they neeed. And for example on the vehicles so theres no flaming towards myself: 3 Scrap Metal - 1 Engine Parts - 1 Fuel Tank Parts - 6 Wheels - And Enough Fuel to Run a Small city All these items spent on the S1203 Van + The hours it took to get them and it still wouldnt even let me climb inside to see what was still wrong with it? Yes i understand its hard work creating a mod + bug fixes and yes its in Alpha but shouldnt you really be fixing the bad bugs before adding more features to bug out too? Just a Thought But on a sidenote (And more positive too) I love Dayz i put so much time into this game and honestly have not stopped playing since i bought and installed it but its getting to the point where im thinking this is minecraft all over again. (Starting something amazing but then slacking when it gets too much) - For the people who didnt get the comment. Much respect <3 Ash
  11. Sorry, the restarts can be explained by the server crashing, which has been happening alot recently. My weapons (I am BORN IN THE U.S.A) are from our camp which we have hidden. About your raft? I haven't seen it and that most likely was someone else. Again we don't reset to get our vehicles back as we only have 1 which is a blue van, which we still have but it's broken down and I was looking for a tire near the airfield as that's where I was. Thor Von awesome, again another thing I have no idea on as I haven't even seen the guy in our server. We had a second guy up near me who was able to sneak around behind you. I find your story invalid. Oh and I forgot our name was changed because there was a second Chicago 117, and they requested we had ours changed. Sorry for any inconviences, but we try to keep our playing experience free of cheating for us and the others on our server. EDIT: I just remembered me and my friends saw your boat earlier today down near Three Valleys? Did you already lose it at the point or was that you guys? It was around 1pm
  12. To put it bluntly the game went from being fun, to being a chore to play. Zombies should be an obstacle yes, but not a completely irritating annoyance. Sneaking around town and avoiding zombies was actually possible and somewhat entertaining in 1.7.1.5...now it is either run thru town like a like a madman looting at light speed or rolling into a town with a 10 man group armed to the teeth. Stealth no longer plays any factor at all. On top of that the sheer amount of glitches this patch introduced turned what was a refreshingly stable mod into a buggy mess. Gillie suits and skins delete inventory, random deaths and respawns, breaking legs next to tents, vehicles not saving... I will not be playing until the next patch or until a rollback of some sorts, as this mod has taken a very large step backwards with 1.7.2.

    A few suggestions.

    Hi, nice suggestions. 1.Bandit camps, wild dogs, etc. no extra NPC! AI makes almost every game stupid, because it is hard to create. but it is good enought for zombies or wild dogs. ;) 2. Bases good idea. bandits or survivor can create something like a home. but not to big, lets call them camps. bandit camps! ;) 3. Customized vehicles in this world you should be happy to find something to drive.
  14. Happened to me as well, two occasions. Friend lost an FAL, then an 870 due to it. Twice we had to run back to our vehicles from the last place we connected from.

    For those who encounter hackers all the time

    There used to be a problem with hacker vehicles like tanks jets gunships and the occasional battleship drop but I think all that was taken care of recently. If you're really interested in what's out there I'd recommend searching for the cheat forums associated with dayz. From what I've read on the cheating forum and seen in youtube videos theres the script nuke that demonlishes buildings but that might also be the use of rare (possibly duplicated) satchel charges, also a teleport hack that teleports everyone on the server 50 ft above a mountain or in the middle of the ocean, there's also server side scripts that can spawn items into a player's inventory (I don't know what would happen to them if they received non dayZ weapons, ie possible perma ban from BE due to server running the script on them).

    A few suggestions.

    Its a fairly large no to adding any NPC factions other than zombies ATM I believe. Bases will be implemented at some point, Rocket believes. And customisable vehicles is a possibility, but how far will it go? i've seen a motorbike with a .50cal machine gun covered in sandbugs, making it a moving bunker. If this were to happen it would basically ruin the entire point of DayZ. I don't think you can distingiush between my example and a car with barbwire, so its either both or nothing, and I assume it would be nothing.
  17. Looking for other bandits to play with. My old group (real life friends) can't seem to log into the servers since 1.7.2 and stopped playing after they got hacked recently. I believe I am on day 20 and have decent gear: m24, svd camo (no mags), m1911, (lost my ghillie suit since 1.7.2). My friends lost my NVG and range finder since they were borrowing them when they got hacked. I have a mumble server that can fit 20 people and I can increase the size if need be since I have a lot of friends using it already for various games such as Diablo 3, WoW, LoL, and Dayz. If you just want to join us for fun on other games I won't mind you using my server as long as you are respectful. Real life info: I am 22 years old and enjoy having fun in games but can be serious about it as well. Currently I am senior at a university and majoring with exercise science and a minor in health science. After I graduate I wish to attend grad school to get a masters and doctors in physical therapy. I live at home with my parents and am currently jobless other than helping with my family business. Goal: To form some sort of base camp to store loot and run with a group of people to loot survivors. By forming a base we don't have to worry about dieing because we can respawn and run back to get geared again and continue the killing. I have already stored a few vehicles and I am currently looking to store my weapons so that I can continue looting. Yes, your character and the gear you're carrying are saved through all servers (only official servers - if you're playing on a non-official server, a.k.a. private server, your character won't get saved across all the other servers, only inside the one you're currently playing), including your current position on the map . TENTS and VEHICLES won't cross server with you. Those will stay in the server you found them.

Hello survivors, i'm aLaaa and somebody could remember me because i'm the developer behind the RCRN lighting mod for Skyrim, i'm a big DayZ fan and i'm playing it since about a month, but i never actively posted in the forums before (only lurking :P). The purpose of this thread is to collect the most interesting and solid ideas provided by the DayZ community, repackaging them into a wireframe structure, and then provide an easy-to-browse thread with fresh ideas for Rocket and devs. I would be happy to keep this thread in the general forum instead of the suggestions one, because the base purpose is to address the general discussions to a more constructive way than the usual pointless complaint threads about barbed wire/tank traps/hacking/severhopping/zomgiraidedyourtentandigrabbed2cansofbeansi'mso1337. Suggestions list: (in some cases original post could be missed, if you are the original submitter please notify it to me.) 1) Humanity v2: Rick Edition. It's pretty obvious that the old bandit Skin was not the right solution, but it's pretty obvious too that the actual situation turned everything into a pointless deathmatch. Here is a proposal based on a total different thing: Vanity. Every new player should start with an Humanity value of 4/7 of the total points: Killing and shooting at not bandit players will make the value decrease. Killing bandits and heal other players will make the humanity value to increase and unlock stuff (everything already included into Arma2): Humanity 5/7: Allow you to wear the Policeman Skin, an average rarity military item spawn. Humanity 5/7: Allow you to wear the Doctor Skin, an average rarity medical item spawn. Humanity 6/7: Allow you to wear the UN Pacekeeper Skin, this is a camoufage skin with a blue helmet, it's an high rarity military item spawn. If you are using a positive Humanity Skin and your Humanity decrease until the value that allow you to wear it, the skin will be automatically removed and repackaged into your inventory at the next server login. Related Gameplay changes: skins are cool and people that want to obtain them will act better. This kind of skins will help the role playing too and they'll add someone to trust in the game. This system doesn't remove bandits from DayZ, it's only developed in order to balance the actual state of things, so expect only a 20% decrease in banditism and murdering. It will also add much more sense to PvP. This will not turn people that are wearing the skins in walking targets, because bandits doesn't look at the skin, they will kill you anyway like it's happening right now, but much probably you will recieve less random shots from survivors because they will recognize you as friendly. Paint cans should be civilian rare loot, and several colors should be available, by combining paint cans you can obtain different skins that can be applied to your veichle. Examples: Green Can + Yellow Can + Brown Can = Woodland Camouflage Skin Black Can + Gray Can + White Can = Urban Camouflage skin White Can + Red Can = Ambulance Skin Blue Can + White Can + Green Can = Police Car Skin Yellow Can + Green Can + Purple Can + Pink Can + Blue Can + Red Can + White Can = Special Flower Power paint job for the hippy van The above combos are just examples there are infinite possibilities, but for sure be able to repaint your veichles would be a nice addition also because a lot of skins/models are already in ArmaII and CO. 3) Helicopter Crash Site Implementation Change (by Callaghan) Everything is already explained here: http://dayzmod.com/f...ntation +change I want only to add that imho the Heli loot should be reduced in quantity, and Heli crashes should happen randomly and only 4 times a day. When an Heli crash happen also a pre-recorded SOS message should be brodcasted to all the players that with a Radio in the toolsbelt. (For more info about radio mechanic, please read the next suggestion). 4) Radio Mechanics: Hello World! I think that this could be a really nice feature, the Chernarus map is full of unused Antennas, this mechanic is supposed to give them a sense. Here is a demo Radio Map that i just done, with stations and ranges (everything is based on already in-game buildings/antennas) (click me!) Features and explanation: - 3x Main Radio Stations, usable by players for voice broadcasting in the antenna areas. Squares in the map are the areas of effect. (Green Mountain Station, NW Airfield Control tower Station, Drakon Isle Station) - 2x Small Modular Radio Stations (marked with SW in the map), usable by players for broadcasting in the antenna areas, this kind of stations are using an external facility (about 1km away) to broadcast, the linked antenna can be used for broadcasting the linked station or as relay station by an adjacent Main Station. (Modular Stations are located at the Balota Airstrip Control Tower and at the NE Airstrip Control Tower) - 4x Relay Antennas, they are used only to re-broadcast signal of Main and Modular Stations coming from an adjacent cell. - Every new player spawn with a radio in the tools inventory. - Players can interact with Antennas and Stations, they can be user set: OFF/ON/Repeat broadcasting of an adjacent station. - Side-chat is enabled into all the radio covered zones (setting Off Antennas/Stations disable sidechat in that area too). - Users can select what to hear. By opening inventory and right clicking on the Radio they can select a station or turn Station Broadcasting off. Turning station broadcasting OFF will block the HELIS SOS message too, because it will be re-broadcasted by all the active stations/antennas. Related Gameplay changes: this add something to do for clans and groups; conquering, defending, switching on/off Radio Stations will keep them busy for a while, and will make them use their veichles for a good reason. Partially active side-chat will add a bit of support for newcomers. 5) new Tool: Flare Gun (by thefonz) A simply flare gun for rescue/communication purpose, more info here: http://dayzmod.com/f...5180-flare-gun/ 6) Updated Melee Weapon/Tool: Knife Knife is already here, would be nice use it also for cutting zeds and not only for gut sheeps. 7) New Melee Weapon/Tool: Shovel Smashing zeds with a Shovel sounds really funny, this should be used also to create little sand fortifications (model is already in Arma2) like this: (maybe a 2h cooldown should be in too) http://www.armatechs...EnvelopeBig.jpg The Melee Weapons damage range should be something like: [lowest] knife > crowbar > Shovel > Axe [highest] 8) Power Plants, electric grid, and Generators (by Bullfrog) An Electricity System would perfectly fit the DayZ gameplay, it should be a nice boost to the teamplay and also a little nerf to the excessive NVG usage (because with this system batteries needs to be recharged via the power line) that is killing the night-time immersion. You can find all the informations in this thread: http://dayzmod.com/f...enerators-v-33/ 9) Night Time/Dusks/Dawns Atm this stuff seems to be not very well balanced, i'm not saying that night time is too dark, but i'm speaking about the night simulation it self, seems that it's simulated by just decreasing saturation and brightness, that is not correct. Arma2 uses a post processing injection system very similar to the one that our mod (RCRN) uses for Skyrim, we work on this kind of lighting stuff for about 8 hours a day since november 2011, and if you want we will be happy to assist you in providing a better night/dusks/dawns management. -------------------- thread update history: - 12/07/012 : removed the TinCan anticheat idea because Rocket already fixed the references in 1.7.2, added Car Paints and Power Plants! -------------------- This is my collection for today, i'll update it everyday with the best ideas that i'll be able to catch around the boards.   20. I suggest the incorporation of the ability to harvest/forage/scavenge scrap metal and possibly tires from the debris piles and vehicle wrecks that obstruct roadways and towns in Day Z. This would remove the pile or wreck and make the town more accessible to vehicles and provide materials. I realize the number of objects to harvest are finite and vehicle repairs are not so, while I would recommend decreasing the scrap metal spawn to encourage this activity I would not recommend its elimination. Improving the environment would also hint at a route any endgame or future of the game could take by providing the means to establish a base for a group, faction, or even some RP ideas of societal recovery. My preference would be to see this function necessitate a tool, preferably a Power Cutter. The idea being that whatever metal is there is not useful or transportable in its current state. This would force the player to use this tool in a primary weapon spot and make them more vulnerable to attack. Their vulnerability would in turn encourage teamwork with a buddy needing to cover. The tool would be extremely loud and likely aggro zombies and possibly players as well as shoot sparks up in the air. Would the tool require fuel? They do IRL but I don't know if that would be making it more annoying than fun. -Inspired by Arcoolka's "Real Time Settler" from Fallout 3.

Over the course of 2 weeks my group has acquired a large chunk of the vehicles on the server we play on, all packed with weapons from deerstands, barracks, corpses, raided camps I don't see why we should loose our legit stuff just because some moron has duped ARs and NVGs in his camp And neither do I see why we should loose it because some random moron(i.e. OP) doesn't understand how to get good gear and requests a wipe A reset at this point would only mean an even larger advantages for dupers Because, BREAKING NEWS!!, DUPING STILL EXISTS AFTER A RESET
  24. Lol no, I am not a hoarder, neither I am mad. Please read what you are quoting next time. Nobody took my loot because I never had one. But I'd like to find a vehicle once in a while, which is almost impossible since you have been hoarding all of the vehicles to just stare at them. What usefulness are you talking about?

    Zombie RPG NL2

    We (me and 3 my friends) can't log in server since it was updated to 1.7.2 version. We all get same error "Please go to the player selection screen to continue in game" for 10-15-20 minute and stock with that on loading screen. Can someone help with that? On other servers login normaly exept Zombie RPG NL2. But we have vehicles and tents on this server and do not want to lose it. Or first check for it if we lose it any way.
