Really effective way of impressing how mature you are...I don't want to raid for other people's stuff or search for some specific servers only to get a vehicle. It shouldn't be allowed to park all of your vehicles and camps outside the map in the first place. That's simply not the sense of the game.

If you have any sort of intelligence you are hard done by finding vehicles in old servers, You need to get on a server that has just been setup or hunt for peoples camps. No one puts any camps in the open. So look in the black forest or up north off the map or near a dam. And why the hell did i tell you this now we are gonna get little fags raiding our camps.

In all my weeks of playing DayZ I have barely seen any vehicles. Once a broken helicopter that required endless amount of stuff to fix and one flying in the distance. That's it. Not a single jeep, car, bus or bicycle. Nothing. It kinda annoys me that we (group of 3) are searching through all of the vehicle spawnpoints on the marked map and still haven't even seen a single vehicle. Not even a broken one. If it's meant to be like this, I demand change. If it's a bug or glitch, I demand immediate fix. As it is now, it's incredibly unrealistic and boring.

I found some inside vehicles but mostly supermarkets and then they duplicate them selves and you end up with 37 from 3...

Colten, in my post i'm saying that my vehicles are on map so that people could easily steal them, where as if they are 40km off map no one has a chance of stealing them. I'm not an idiot and theres a reason why I have the 4 best vehicles on the map and have had them for 2 weeks. -

Have you tried giving the server a quick restart? Vehicles (and tents) might not spawn in after server restarts/updates. Another restart often does the trick.. Of course, if you have no (in)direct control of the server, you will just have to wait it out till they decide to do a restart again befopre you know for sure. -

I'm not new to vehicles in DayZ. I have found well over 15 vehicles for myself and/or the group I play with in the entire duration I have been playing DayZ. Obviously not in one fell swoop, not a hoarder. I have seen almost every vehicle in the game mode that is legal. I have seen illegal vehicles, and have had the admin of my home server remove them. Now, I ask, is it possible for vehicles to have other skins? A team mate just found a Motorcycle, with a red body and flame decals. That seems alarming to me, I know the Motorcycle can be found, but with that skin? Let me know.

Why the hell would you leave your gear near an area that people can easily find them? My suggestion to you would be to move your tents about 500m - 1KM from the vehicles, and leave the vehicles empty. That's just stupidity, in my opinion. -

Shame we had loads of gear in the BAF oh well. Maybe has something to do with the normal Arma II vehicles being banned now when the server loads up so hackers cant spawn them in. I guess something messed up and the BAF Offroad is now a banned vehicle Has it gone on your server aswell Jai ? -
Yogscast spawned weapons and Admin Help?

Dude take a pill. Why are you asking a bunch of Day Z players, (people who probably haven't even heard of the Yogscast) how filming for a youtube series works? Ridgedog is a very good friend of the Yogscast and everything done in their videos could be done without hacking in items or somehow using admin cheats. When a professional youtuber makes a video, they typically spend hours and hours outside of what you see even leading up to this point and make several cuts.Ridgedog died repeatedly after he was accidentally shot by Xephos, so it's not like he just up and got items again. He probably has a large stash on his server that he took the items from and brought them to the Yogscast since he was helping them the entire time because they're (self admittedly) a bunch of bumbling idiots. He didn't drive back to them in a 'low amount of time', the Yogscast drove around like dolts for a long time, and there is several cuts during the video where stuff happens and you don't see it. That is just simply how shit is done on youtube. Cut the boring parts and show the action to avoid turning away viewers. The Yogscast got alot of guff for having Ridgedog even along for the ride, people were expecting to see the Yogscast die over and over and never get anywhere (because that is what would have happened until they got a hang of the initial spawn) but then we'd have just saw 30+ minutes of them dying over and over and getting frustrated every episode. If you want to see people die over and over go watch some twitch livestreams or one of the hundreds of other youtubers who do Let's Plays of this game. Screw your automatic assumptions that they cheated to get their items or hacked in vehicles or whatever guff you think. The Yogscast has an entire CREW of people in that server, several of them are probably on voice comms or chatting with the Yogscast telling them what to do next. Think of it has Hollywoodizing Day Z. You might not like it, but it's still funny to watch. If it isn't, then just ignore them and stop obsessing over this. -
M249, M240, MK48 all have tracer fire, i have seen clanmates using them and seen tracers bouce 90degrees off rocks and vehicles.

In a span of one month, 9 times out of 10 server restarts unexpectedly when I get my hands on a vehicle, be it by killing the driver or finding a camp. Coincidence? I think not. Either way I lost numerous vehicles this way. Things like that occured in EU17, LU15, DE115 e.t.c. While players grief by alt-f4, admins grief by restarting server. -

Yeah it was there in 1.7.1.5 our server updated tonight to 1.7.2.3 and the BAF is gone. Noone stole it they didnt have time to. An ATV is there so i know vehicles are working just the BAF seems to have dissapeared. Let me know if yours is there mate -

Installed on DE4 with patch version 94876.. Server filled up instantly after reboot, for the first time in around a week, all players were in server anf in game within a minute or so after reboot! So no connections problems after restart! A few minutes wait after respawning, but nothing like the problems the last few days! In game, the fps is very stable, until there must have been at least 20 or 30 dead survivors around cherno, brough my FPS down to around 25 to 30, all very high settings, no PP or HDR! Restarted server to clean up after a few hours, back to 40 - 50 fps in cherno! In game, zeds are still quite dumb to aggro in certain cases, ie I could run into there face and they wouldn't react, but wobetide me if I even crawled across a path of one 150mtrs away, they would run at me like a man possessed, which in all honesty i prefer! They also are rooted to the spot in a lot of areas, but they might eventually go and check a dead bodies out! Ammo still not saving after repawning into game, I also had a report of vehicles not saving, waiting for a definite word back on that one! Usual small bugs like, not being able to gut animals, flies still around after hiding bodies! BTW, the bodies would not disappear at all, waited 30 minutes and the dead around me were still there! Loot seemed to be spawning properly, still no bear trap :( but everything else was in abundance, as usual more watches, maps and alice packs than the server needed for everyone :) All in all so far running fantastically well with no crashes, will do a server monitor check tomorrow and see how it is running! Looking for vehicles is great or just try to help new players. You dont necessarily have to shoot anyone, but be aware of players shooting you for your loot. -

since you already have a group going.Try going to the "hot zones" and pvp a bit while scavenging or just pvp. you can try places like stary sobor,NW airfield,NE airfield. You can also hunt for some vehicles ;) -

I have to agree. This isn't an after school special with cup cakes and glitter. This is the end of the world with zombies and others that want what you got and will put one in between your eye brows to get it. I once blew a girl's head off because one of my mates brought her to camp. Claimed she was "friendly" and wouldn't hurt anyone, but I stick to my rules and the first one is Don't Trust Anybody. By the way did I mention it was a bandit kill? That one act of kindness cost us a few hours of moving tents, vehicles, hardware, and food. If we let her stay I could imagine the real damage she would of done. Sure she sounded as sweet as a cherry pie, but that don't mean Ol' Beltway won't put one in your ass. My mate still gets a lot of crap from us because he fell for the "woman in distress" bit. -
In such an apocalypse the vehicles would have been sitting around rusting for months/years. even new cars need maintenance so these should be the same. the concept is simple , all car parts degrade over time. The faster you drive , the quicker the rate at which the tires and engine degrade. At average speed they would degrade fully in about the time it takes to use up 3 full fuel tanks. whereas full speed it would be 2. This would add a little more depth and feature to the mod/. in before "boo hoo i spent years getting tires/engine parts"

Fact: In Day Zed, you are a civilian. Fact: Some people are good at cooking, some people aren't. Relevance? Sure, you are a civilian in Day Zed, but some people are better or more potent in some areas than others. Say you had civilian classes? You could be a doctor, and administer bloodpacks to yourself and others. Engineers could repair vehicles. Hunters are better at wielding long guns, and policemen are better with one-handed guns. Lumberjacks (or some equivalent) are better with melee weapons. Runners have better agility, and can vault, run, and move a bit faster than others. Pilots can pilot helicopters. These are examples of could-be classes. There is no Marine, Medic, Soldier, Special Ops, or ect, but a bit more realistic skillsets. These classes have special skills and can affect how you play. No characters are at a disadvantage to what abilities they can do, but some are better than others or can do things some can't. Take the runner. He can run faster than some for a time, but does not have the skills of the doctor or hunter. This affects how he will play. Most likely, he will play the game defensively, and evade trouble, or work as the get-go-guy, the one who goes in, gets supplies, and then gets out, fast. He's not any worse at weilding guns, driving, making fires or anything else, although he cannot repair vehicles or helicopters or drive them. The other classes would also affect gameplay styles, but wouldn't make them impossible. Teams wouldn't HAVE to form to survive, but are much better off if they exist. The skills players value would come out, and make things interesting. Let's face it; not everyone can repair vehicles, give blood transfusions, pilot helicopters, and the like. And this feature wouldn't be a burden. It's fun! You get a specialty skill and use it to your advantage to survive. There might be a lot of doctors, but that only gives them a different specialty skill, and some others are better suited to take them out. Even if ALL these classes don't sound good, why not atleast cover the basics? Doctor that can use bloodpacks, engineer that can repair vehicles, and a pilot that can only repair helicopters and pilot them. This of course isn't great, and I like my first idea of classes better, but neither are set-in-stone, and it's just a suggestion. The point is to show you how classes could work out in the game, and how you could benefit from them.

I think in a previous patch you did require a toolbox to fix up vehicles, but it was removed, no idea why. But +1 to anything that nerfs barbed wire. Honestly, people need to fuck off with that stuff. At least make it smaller so you're able to vault over it, but so it still remains its effectiveness of stopping zombies and players from completely passing through it. This I also agree with, it's annoying having your leg broken by a stray zombie. Though the chance of it happening has been lowered, it's one of the worst things to be afflicted by. The possibility to fix yourself up in the wilderness is appealing. I disagree with the map and the "fog of war" sense of exploration, I've found it never helps to back to places you've always been, I feel you should always be moving forward, exploring deeper inland or along the coast.

To fix this they should have put a random spawn on vehicles over 2 weeks!!! Its hard not to take vehicles when you start the server! But yeah your 100% correct!

I disagree. I think IED's should be implemented as another game mechanic. I would LOVE to be able to booby trap my backpack/tent/vehicles. It makes complete sense in the context of the game and if it hasn't already been suggested in the suggestions threads it should be.

Yeah i'm not sure why i'm banned my roomates are still using the vehicles we had so its not like the admin has found them. Vertisce let me know if you host a server and want 4-5 people to play with were pretty damn fun to play with and have an uncanny knack for finding vehicles.
