  1. Hy, My clan had in the Past quite some own servers dedicates, leased etc.. but we never had an ArmA 2 Server so there are some things that are new to us, I would ask for some advice before I contact my server provider and give him hell. I´m also aware that some of this issues might be fixed with the next beta patch. But anyway I would like to have you opinions before I contact my Provider. 1. Strange / odd behaviour with hatches. On every respawn on our server ALL Players loose their hatches. It doesn’t matter if they got them on the belt or if they got them in the backpack. They just disappear as soon as you join the server. If you find a hatchet you can clone them on our server, you just have to pick it up then you got one in your inventory but another one is still on the floor.2 .Crowbar is very odd, probably hacked. You pickit up then it appears in your weapon slot and you cant drop it anymore. Even if you got still you main weapon in sight. – This is a bug someone reported earlier on the 1.7.2.3 thread. But on our server there is a special gimmick. If you press quite some times “F” you have the crowbar in you hand and on the top left appears “CROWBAR HACK”. 3.Strange respawning of things and loots without server restarting. Well this one is awesome if you want to exploit the game! We didn’t find out what causes this yet. But we saw this at least 3 times today, and yesterday 2. Probably it happens more were not all time connected. Well loots just simply disappear in front of your eyes and seconds later new loot appears. Happens all over the server in different cities at the same time. We had a player on NW Airport, Stary Sabor and Zelenogorsk, reporting this at the same time. Vehicles and Tents disappear at the same time! When we do a server restart, obviously new loot spawns but the Tents and Vehicles are back, empty. Vehicles might be not respawning, not sure about them. 4.You approach animals and they disappear. That’s a funny one. We call it the Fata Morgana. http://en.wikipedia....organa_(mirage) You approach an animal to kill it and it randomly disappears. Especially funny if your hungry, and need to eat. 5.Unlimited smoke grenades. This one is also quite fun. You can throw smokes till you cover the whole town with them. Zombies love them, but they do only react to the first. We do not know how exactly the player enters this state, we thing that it got something to do if you respawn on our server and find a smoke as your first loot object. If you join another server you lose your smoke normaly. 6. Heavy desync / lag / warp issues. Well I know that the current beta patch has problems. But we did not experience the effects that dramaticly on other servers. Desync Two players spot the same zombie but the zombie is for each of the player on different positions up to 50 m! Player shoots, the other hear his shoots like 15 seconds later. Lag Every time a new player joins server pings shoot up to 700 for all players, lots of desync for everybody. Randomly it also happens. Warp. Well zombies just warp and don’t seem to take damage for up to a minute, then suddenly they die, we get used to it. But other players are running on the field static, then suddenly teleport to the other edge of a town, even if for you and for him zombies seem to behave normal. What we think about all this issues, and what might be causing it. 1. I think our provider is using some tool to prevent hacker scripts, this is preventing hatches from normal behaviour. 2. I saw the bug report, but that CROWBAR Hack just let me roll my eyes. I will take a screen as soon I find a crowbar. 3. I read on the BIS, DayZ and Armaholic forums that this usually happens if someone “resets the mission”, I do understand that you have to do this manually, and the people get to the lobby when this happens. However, we experience this without being disconnected. No admin connected when this happened. 4 I’m not sure if this is lag, scriptblocking or WTF. It just dammed annoying. 5. Think here is our script blocking script from our provider doing his funny work, there is no other explanation for me. 6.I know that the “current” 94876 patch is giving problems for quite some people. But this is unplayable at some times. We had to restart the server quite some times and deactivate the BE maxping feature because it was kicking low ping users during the spikes. As I know that almost all provider setup virtual boxes for the server, Im very sure this one is over its capacity at least at network traffic. I will wait for the new patch to complain about this, at my provider. Perhaps its realated to all the problems above, but we experienced this (Hatchet, Crowbar, Smokes) even with only a few player where on. I will ask for lowering the slots on our server as 40 is unplayable for everyone on the server.
  2. When the tick boxes come up a text box comes up saying "addon dayz_anim requires addon CA.Dubbing_counterattack" WTF is this. Also when it comes onto the main menu a box comes up saying "no entry. bin/config/CFG vehicles/citizen1.scope. What do these mean and a box comes up when i try to join a server saying something to do with dependent on downloadble content. Please help i want to play dayz so badly.

    Why Day-Z Fails

*flame suit on* I have been playing Day Z for some time now and after my most recent run I have come to the fair conclusion that this mod FAILS as a zombie survival simulator. I understand that this game was not built under with the thought of "Oh hey, this would be really fun!" About me: I am not a sorry ass noob who is crying because he keeps dying, or can't find any gear. I had it all. The only thing I failed to find is vehicles(well ive been killed by them enough). I have played the game many ways including but not limited to: a friendly survivor, a terrorizing bandit, a two faced survivor who will gain your trust just to shoot you when you dont expect it(sadistic, i know), batman, an honest abe player who doesnt exploit the system, an asshole whole will d/c when fired upon only to return a few minutes later to shoot you when you think the coast is clear. I have played this game nearly every way possible. Now the only thing fun to do is troll people in Cherno/Elektro on direct chat blaring some sort of awful music or some other weird ass way to play the game. Enough about me... Why Day-z Fails as a zombie survival simulation: Okay, #1, This game is far from a simulation -Aside from zombies not being real and me not being able to hop to different dimensions(servers)- IRL you do not have unlimited stamina. I'm pretty sure if a zombie made you bleed you were going to be a zombie. More cars would be available, but gas would be priceless. Your person would suffer from depression due to the forced style of lone wolf game play (dont even say p2p interaction occurs, sniper bullets in your brain is not what i mean) There are a million things people could pick out if they wanted. Zombies suck in general, while their AI has been improving, they still are pretty broken. Zombies run at the same exact pace as every character in the game. Shouldn't zombies(and players?) run at different speeds? Zombies are hardly a threat (except when your blood level is critical). Wouldn't there be randomly roaming zombies ALL over the world and not just loot locations? In a true zombie apocalypse, the zombies would be enemy #1, not other humans. Yeah, you will have evil people in the world but not nearly as many as there are on any day z server. Day-z = Anarchy Simulator? Other players ruin the game. I feel that surviving is just too easy in this game which is way many players resort to banditry. I think zombies need to much more of a threat. Im pretty sure there are more bugs than zombies, Yeah Alpha my ass, this has been in alpha for waaay to long and with the huge increase on players you would think BIS would help on the bug squashing end. Also- Rocket- This message is for you= Stop doing interviews saying the SAME THING in all of them and get back to work before someone steps in and takes your idea and makes it better. Welcome to Day-Z the walking simulator. The map is way too big to have any fun on when it takes 4 hours to get to the northern border just to get shot by a random sniper. Put more vehicles in the game and make gas a rare commodity that could even be used as a currency. This game is not fun- No one wants to play a boring ass walking simulator. Rocket do you want sales? People dont buy it unless they know its fun. The only reason so many people bought crappy Arma 2 was because of all the hype. This game appeared to be the most fun thing in the world. I even forced myself to believe that for some time. But after about 24 hours of game play, I cant say that its very fun. I think with some major tweaks you will create a game filled with fun while maintaining a walking zombie simulator genre. Okay you savage people, I expect a lot of tl:dr's and other forms of internet doucheness.

How to end Ganking, and support Honor [ v ]

I think people confuse griefers and bandits/kos/conflict. I think the percentage of people actually griefing (shooting on the actual coast, or shooting newbs in cherno/elect) is pretty low, I'm not saying that violence is low just people griefing is lower than people think. I think you just have to accept it, its the end of the world some people are going to go off the rocker. KOS is another matter though I think it can be explained by looking at the scenarios that lead to it. KOS is a product of the game and the scenarios players find themselves in. It will not go away, but rejoice as there is an easy alternative already in place that does not require gamification or magic skins, you simply choose to play the game in the way that will result in the most fun for you. And I will throw in some free advice.... As i'm not sure what game all of the nerf bandits/kos sight people are playing, I will explain the scenarios & game play most people find themselves in. Even if your playing lone wolf a characters life cycle should resemble something like this: 1. Spawn on the beach 2. Go into a major city (or to Balota) 3. Loot all necessary survival equipment and medical equipment (If at balota find a gun and wait for someone that will have all survival equipment) 4. Leave Coast 5. Hit deerstands on way to Northern Location 6. Loot Stary, NW, Berizino for military equipment 7. Find tents/vehicles 8. Make a camp 9. Loot other peoples camps 10. At any place in timeline above locate and loot helo crashes 11. Farm any location included in stage 6 and horde gear for your eventual death. If you look at the life cycle you see that at points 3, 6, 9, and 10 you are in direct competition for resources with other players that are at a similar stage in their characters life cycle. This is why people shoot each other in these locations. You decided to go to the fire station first so you have a primary, they went to church so they have a secondary and back pack, you both need/want each others gear so you shoot each other. I think 90% of pvp is centered around conflict or precieved conflict over resources. Precieved conflict equates to someone seeing you were they want to loot. Leet Advice: Most "vet" or experianced players spend 80% of their time at the above locations listed in stage 6, as this is where they will have a chance at the best gear or best equiped players. If you don't want to be shot then avoid these areas. Once you get past stage 7 above you have invested a fair amount of time and are well geared, this is the second cause of shoot on sight, you now know that you are a walking target/safe deposit box. People want your gear, cars, tents, etc. So you shoot anyone you see as this is the safest solution. This is just as it would be IRL, trusting someone you don't know has inherent risks and most players/groups that far along have more to lose than gain by being friendly. This can be avoided to a degree, simply avoid equipment that you know other people would kill you for. IMO there's nothing wrong with the above, or the current KOS play style people use. I think it can be fairly logically explained when you look at the scenarios that occur, and I think its actually fairly authentic. For all the people that don't like it, there is even a simple solution, just *avoid* the areas described above, and don't pick up gear people would kill to have. There is no need to add anything to the game, or change things to make it less authentic, players simply need to actually play the game the way that maximizes their enjoyment. If you don't want to be shot in the face then avoid the areas, players, and reasons that get you shot in the face. This solution is available to you because the game is a sandbox, you can live like a rat and avoid all contact with other players, you can be a civilian that avoids conflict, or a survivor doing whatever it takes to thrive instead of survive. TLDR: Before you QQ about bandit skins or shoot on sight ask yourself the following questions when in game and you are thinking about going to a location or you see a player: 1. Does highend loot spawn here? // Does the player have high end loot? 2. Do other players need/want to come to this location? // Do other players need/want this item? 3. Is this location on the way to a high end location? 4. Does this item make me feel like a badass? If the answer is yes to any of the above avoid that location/item and understand that the other player will murder you.

    ATV and Motorcycle spawns???

ATV's are still death traps. Most vehicles are already all hoarded so good luck finding any, but I just reccommend searching for camps

    ATV and Motorcycle spawns???

Try using this map: http://www.dayzdb.com/map#4.009.122 It shows a lot of vehicles and other useful things too, I used it to find a lot of things when I didn't know my way around. Hope it helps you!

Rocket is a sadistic bear f**ker

ArmA 2 functions on an engine that's been running well enough and continuously improved since its conception in the late 1990's with Operation Flashpoint. It has always emphasized realism, modability, and ballistic preformance over looks and software by tradition, so that you, the player, would have a decent military simulation experience that comes as close to the real thing as possible. Bohemia Interactive designed the game based on what would be adaequate to the Armed Forces, with the regular civilian player in mind. This is a game that supports thousands of AI in first-person stance, allows for RTS gameplay, and complete micromanagement of infantrymen and vehicles. It includes a system of highly advanced AI (when compared to the AI of other games) which don't preform based on a scripted mission like in C0D or Battlefield 3,and most importantly, it puts you, the player, in THE MOST REALISTIC military game world concieved thus far. ArmA 3 is being developed with the issues of ArmA 2 strongly in mind, and the developers are doing everything in their power to prevent them from happening again. They have a plan to implement even more military elements to the game and even making the graphics better, while still keeping the massive scale of the engine's potential attainable. They are doing a massive overhaul, and if you had been with the series for more than one year, you would understand that even the OA Expansion showed immense improvements over the 2008 copy of ArmA 2. Do you honestly think they're going to screw up and rush this game? Bohemia Interactive is going far to develop ArmA 3, and they're trying to satisfy players like you who can't appreciate something for what it is unless it's slick, shiny, and lacking any depth. Do you HONESTLY want to take away from a company that's trying to satisfy it's players rather than just shoving its dick in their faces? In short, your opinion is fucking stupid. Gtfo.

Banned from UK 25 for server hopping??

I don't think you've actually understood what I have said, I am not having a go at you, you're English suggests that it is not your first language, so to clarify: I said that the trucks were most likely ours because we had exactly 12 SVD magazines in the truck last time I looked in them, and I was the last one in our squad to see the vehicles, but I never stated the satchel charges belonged to us. I would love to have owned 7 of them, but if I had them, they would have been one of the first things I transported during my server hopping, its common sense. Please try to read and understand fully the comments, before trying to quote them. On a side note: If that is how you react to hearing other players opinions, then I am surprised you haven't been blacklisted already. I wouldn't request you become blacklisted, but the way you are acting towards fellow gamers is just disgusting and I'm disappointed that you still act this way. You have not been the mature ones at all and just apologised for the ban you placed on me, and instead have tried to hide behind petty excuses about your BF3 server, seriously? That's your reasoning of why you unbanned me? Not because everyone supports the unban appeal, even staff? The more you argue against the rest of the community and its staff, the more respect you will keep losing. Stop digging a hole and instead fill the hole with a simple apology, admitting it was wrong to ban me and then all this will be forgotten and can go back to normal.

Admin abuse UK117 (The MoFo Police)

server admin trying to balance "fairness" to all players by taking away vehicles to themselves using admin privileges yeah i guess thats pretty much what rocket wants all round. i would just say that guy was stupid to tell were their camp was to a stranger, more than that, an admin that can kick you and take your stuff.
  10. Today i entered at US106 server and found that my account is banned. Message says Battleye banned: spawning items/vehicles location. I never used any hacks and scripts. All i know that some my clanmates got few cars, that could be a reason for ban if they used hacks, but looks like admin decided to ban everyone with same clantag.
  11. No one with a brain is blaming DayZ for the prevalence of hackers. But because it is in Alpha doesn't excuse Arma II and BI either. Everyone that says they've never seen a hacker. I question whether you would know even if you did. Most hackers don't turn on God-mode. They just spawn their own weapons every time they die while we scratch and claw for a hatchet. We search endlessly for car parts and vehicles to repair and the perfect hiding place, only to have them stolen in less than 24 hours because hackers can see every vehicle on the map. I'm not here to complain, I only want to point out that I understand those who are complaining or "whining" as you put it. I get it. If I lose the Military Off-roader because the MOD crapped out, fine, I can live with that. But when I lose the truck in a day, along with everything in it because every vehicle has an inherent homing device, its very frustrating. #justsayin

The buses weren't ours, we didn't save anything at the marketplace. When you were at stary we saw you run uphill from far away but didn't see who you were fighting, couldn't tell if it were Zeds or another player. Today 3 guys disconnected in my face after shooting at them, lucky me I keep an eye on the disconnects and got their names. I saw the red signature thing battleye complained too, it occured after I decided to stay logged and wait to see if it entered.. didn't complain after so I don't know what was that, if you got a screenshot of it paste it so I can google it. About the vehicles, we have found our motorcyle where we fought you the second time, so my guess is that the server stopped sending info to the Hive 5 minutes before it crashed, if you have it on video you can count the time more precisely. Hope your buses are still around there, don't worry we won't search for them now, but rest assured we'll meet again! BTW, lets continue that chit-chat at http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/26318-lu129-arturia-pendragon/page__hl__lu129 Don't think it's appropiate to spam the Cheater forum with this.
  13. I do hope helicopters make a return in some form... Even in the original Dawn of the Dead, I recall the main characters straffing ambling zombies with a helicopter before perching themselves ontop of the mall. I hope rocket will bring us the civilian Mi17, aswell as a ported civilian plane from the original ARMA.... Perhaps including ONE rare gunship for folk to fight over. All of which have no radar. None of vehicles are immune to ground fire y'know.... A single well placed shot or two on a tail rotor can bring choppers spiraling down to earth. Drilling their fuel tank may force a landing later on. And lets not mention shooting at the flight crew from the ground. I also agree about the inclusion of the UAZ or Humvee. Ofcourse, any military vehicle should be extreamly rare.... making them a key asset that players are fighting over. I like the idea of players fighting over scraps in Day Z... Greed is entertaining to watch.

Incentive for not being a bandit?

  15. Hey, I thought about why not put bikes in big vehicles like the bus, pick up, van, Ural or V3S but not the small cars. So if a bike is close to a truck u would be able to load it up via mouse wheel. It should take maybe about 20 slots or more. Would be great to travel fast and efficient like to park the car in the woods and then ride the bike to a city or smthn.

Yes, ur friend shooted me and left with 6000 blood and bleeding ^^ We lost our motorbike too, we are going to check if it's in last place we saved it (hopefully). If not we may restart the server, as sometimes the hive may not load the vehicles. I wish we can answer if it's save, but it's not the server who give the problems...it's the hive. So it's out of our hands. I will keep you informed, sorry for any problem it's causing to you :/ Nesie.

I edited the last post and added more info. About the server crash that just happened now it's the first time I've seen it, searched the forum and only found one person that got that message when the 1.7.2.1. I'm really annoyed with this, since last patch everthing has gone horribly, hope they patch it soon enough since this is getting unplayable. Oh, so you got the skirmish we had on video? Nice! Would love to see the video if you upload it to youtube or something. We were having such a nice fight.. If your brother was the sniper that left the bus when we began shooting you he hit me in the first fight when I got off the bike, and in the second encounter he hit my friend. As I said, both times we had to patch and almost died.. really nice sniping. Now I'm running aaaaall the way to our tent to check if the rebootwas properly done (sometimes restarts don't spawn tents and vehicles). My word of advice, until everything gets patched correctly I wouldn't count on getting much new gear with this patch... so much stuff disappears in tents and vehicles I've lost the count of it. Oh and remember, Server automatically restart at UTC: 20:00, 4:00, and 12:00.

    Tent got emptied

A grenade and driving over tents just flattens the tent and then they reappear fully set up with all of there items gone. I found that out because I parked an ATV close to one of our tents and it vibrated down the hill and flattened it lol Lets just say i'm not allowed to park vehicles anymore
  20. Nope, all vehicles are server-bound.
  21. Yes vehicles disapear when you use mission restart but they will reappear again where they were when theres a proper server restart same with tents
  22. Looking for a friend or two, to join myself & another friend in Dayz. We are tired of travelling alone, and wish to travel / scavenge and use general team work to accomplish tasks. Our main goal / hope is to find a vehicle, and use that vehicle, to find more vehicles. - If you regularly play at the hours I posted above, then you'd be more than welcome to join up & perhaps build a camp with us, a mini clan as such. Our main goal is to have fun, but of course, we all want a vehicle. - Once we have found more vehicles than one, if we do decide to part ways at the end oft he night, and expect to never see each other again, we will divide the vehicles equally amongst people. - I will be sharing my vehicle regardless. ANYWAY, The upshot is, we want to travel, have fun, defend ourselves & explore the world more so in the process. Mature & experienced players are welcome. Don't be a boring bastard. Cheers! - Will check this thread back at around 21;45 GMT. PM skype info is interested, and post here to keep bumped, thanks.
  23. I have to agree, I hate that term. I see people throwing it around all the time and it makes me cringe every time because it just proves that they don't get DayZ. There is no endgame. From my understanding of Rockets point of view there never will be an endgame, nor should there be. If you want "endgame" then Left4Dead, Dead Rising, or any number of other zombie related games that incorporate the concept of levels and a final scripted goal. The only endgame in DayZ is when you die and get to respawn on the beach. Well of course its just my opinion. Honestly, I always feel odd having to say "IMO". Shouldnt the default assumption be that people are just talking out of their asses and giving their own horribly biased opinion, unless they specificaly state otherwise? And if anyone thinks their own opinion is not horribly biased then they need to wake up and stop being so deluded. In the end somewhat arbitraty distinctions are all that you can go based on. I mean why don't we have laser rifles, longswords, breach loading muskets, or those classic Civil War Era (American) gattling guns? They don't fit the setting that is why. And why don't they fit the setting? Because of somewhat arbitrary distinctions. Distinctions in dates, distinctions in gere and setting. And that is where my distinctions come from. It's like the distinction between Dawn of the Dead (2004 specifically, because I think it is the better version) and Resident Evil Apocalypse. In Dawn you have a very minimalist approach to zombie defense, civilian firearms and hand to hand weapons. In RE you have the other end of the spectrum. This is an almost perfect example of this type of distinction, because in the end Dawn of the Dead is by far the better film. Similarly I think DayZ will be a better game by going minimalist also. And I agree, I think all vehicles take you of of the game to one extent or another. And I would not be sad if they were all taken out. That, however, is unlikely to happen. So instead I choose to discuss what I see as being the worst of the bunch (choppers). So that is why I made that distinction. As for the distinction of vehicles with mounted guns that one is pretty simple, though I will admit it could be based on faulty assumptions. I have never used a chopper nor been in one in the game. But from the video's I have seen the mounted guns seem to have unlimited ammo. If accurate, this allows people to fly around above the threat of zombies and fire to their hearts content at people on the ground. People who if they fire back, run the rick of alerting zombies, and running out of ammo in the process. This allows the people in the chopper to effectivly rule a server. You are incorrect. I believe what Rocket has said is that he has no intention of making the game balanced. Balanced and Fair are two very different concepts. The game not being balanced means "not all weapons are good. Some of them just suck, and some weapons are completely amazing". The game being fair means "Everyone can die. No one can be effectivly immune from harm or threat". Otherwise he would have open arms for the hackers who want to spawn battleships and chopped at the push of a button, I mean arn't those people stronger than the ones who can't do that? [Yes that is an example of Reductio ad Absurdum, but I use it to highlight a point]. Why not just add suitcase nukes to the game then? Really rare, but you set it on a timer and then it kills everyone and everything on half of the map. It's not fair, or balanced so you should love it. Or tanks? Im sure there would be some tanks laying around somewhere, lets add those in and see how much better the game gets. Oh thats right, it would be worse, not better. If vehicles must be in the game, then I agree people should be able to defend themselves from them. But not with mounted weapons that never run out of ammo (again see the assumption made above). Instead of putting weapons on the vehicles, why not simply allow people to fire out of the windows with their own guns? It seems a much better compromise to me.

Hello Earthy. Reading your thread almost brought a tear to my eye.... But then I don't seem to understand why you a posting a thread on the DayZ about the clan being so bad and horrible... But firstly I would like to mention that we was going to restart the server from scratch (Which we later discovered was not possible as the server company informed us that its not possible) You came on our team speak and you was friendly I admit but nevertheless you was boasting about having all the vehicles and posting us pictures of your game which some members found irritating. But you did indeed give us a vehicle which we was thankful for. The next day as a group we decided to look for your "camp" (Not illegal is it?) and was attacked by your group who took back the Jeep (It's DayZ expect retaliation) We later came across one of your friends who decided to join our teamspeak and beg us not to kill him, we did indeed decide to kill him but lets remember that's not against the rules (pvp enabled and you can expect to get shot here and there by other players) and took his stuff. In our Teamspeak (Which is Public) You decided to join and start swearing and shouting at us which was inappropriate and you was kicked from the team speak (Not the server). Later the in-game map was flooded with markers which was abusive to the players and admins of the server, which we did kick you for (Is that so un-reasonable?) Later we did repeatedly kicked you (as seen in the video) because of what you said and did. Seen as tho one of our memebers owns the server and PAYS for it we decided not to let you back on the server because of your violent and offensive behavior / Actions but you did keep rejoining the server leaving the admins no choice but to keep kicking you. With that in mind and the fact we don't want abusive / disruptive players on our server we did kick you over and over. Oh one last thing! According to you all the vehicles in your base disappeared so how could we have possible stolen them? It's not admin abuse! we are just kicking people who cannot behave correctly and there is plenty of other servers so if you do feel hard done by then I would suggest that you played on a different server. Thanks Phool.
  25. This has happened to me before while driving, but ALL the vehicles on the server were gone. I always record all the save coordinates of all my vehicles on a google doc, so after another server reset I checked back to where they were. POOF, they were back like magic.
