Good on you for stealing from the admins. And good on them for not banning you as soon as they found out the vehicles and their precious beans were gone.

Anyone take a big transport VZ3 civilian truck from a forest on US 382?
SEALdvd replied to Slyguy65's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
We (I and some friends) had also hide a V3S truck in a forest. And after 10 days on the same hiding spot it just disappears in one night. We found a Ural truck (on the same day of disappearing of the V3S truck) near stary, take that to an other location and after 4 hours that truck was also gone. It's sad, however you can't hide a vehicle forever.. I read somewhere that hackers can find locations of tents, vehicles and players. Some weapons we lost in one day: Ak-74, AK-M, AK-U, m249 (*2 weapons), mk 48, bizon (*2 weapons), MP5SD6, M16A2 m203, m4a3 CCO, FN-FAL, FN-FAL ANPV, L85A2 AWS, m107 (*2 weapons), DMR, M9 SD (*4 weapons). *note, most of the guns we found were already in the ural* -
Server Blood of Britain Hacked by player "Jamie"
Longs replied to Longs's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think I might take a break from the game for a few days, the above post echo's quite well how I feel atm. We had a regular crowd on our server, people that had set up camps and were using vehicles etc. It was giving me and my friends a real sense of adventure having other organised players to play against. I'd been killed a few times but was always keen to do the start over loot some gear thing then head north to meet up with my friends to get back in the action. This one hacker may have ruined that and scared off the players that were coming on the server every day. -
Exactly. I don't know why some folks are so opposed to crafting or re-building. It makes sense if everything around you is broken or run-down. If they removed the ability to repair vehicles, the "crafting deniers" would complain about that too. I'm not suggesting we go the way of Minecraft. But being able to create basic, useful items would make DayZ appeal to a wider spectrum of players. Plus there's street cred to be had when making your own stuff. It's why we stopped being cavemen. Oh wait, some of us are *still* cavemen.

mentioning all this info in the first post would have been much more helpful for people.. Its against a tree. i know how vehicles work. i can't access gear or get in but i can save. it looks like its been on fire. the tractor is blown up

Confess your sins here - The worst thing you've d
Tsyn replied to Maedis's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Love this thread already ;) Convoying supplies from one location to another. 4 vehicles in a line, all being driven by members of my group. We're on the north side of Balota, heading north. We round a corner an BAM! We see someone in the field. The three in the back say "Meh, leave him alone. If he shoots, keep moving". For some reason, that didn't seem fair to me. This perfect chance to test out my newly installed bumper... I swerve the Ural toward the person. He runs! Dodges! I turn around and go back. 4 Tons of steel rolling at 35KM/H smack the helpless survivor and sends him flying for about 30 meters. He feeds about half of my group and we keep rolling. -
I know how vehicles work. It lets me save the tractor but not get in. Theres no option for it.

Mesh accidentally spawned in the debug forest, he started making his way North and came upon and obvious clan camp, I obviously headed south to meet him ASAP. We find loot galore including weapons, ammo, vehicles etc, take a look, see what happened! Remember, this game is all about survival, survival of the fittest, therefore we did what we felt was necessary to ensure our "clan" was the fittest of all. And after all, other players/survivors are more dangerous than the zombies! ;-) Sorry for the poor audio qualty on this short episode, it was an on the fly recording that i wasnt expecting to make so my sound levels were all over the place, i may be quite hard to hear in places, but you get the general idea of whats happening. Watch it past the credits :-) If you like this vid, please like/comment/subscribe, it means a lot and goes a long way to making sure i keep making content (and making it better), plus you also have the chance to win some free stuff, just by subscribing and watching my vids!

Don't really like the idea of a new map, but. I do want a lot more "end game content". I got a good primary weapon and ammo for it, got a good pistol and ammo for it, I got an alice pack, I have all the utility items except GPS and range finder, I got a few items of each medical supply, and got plenty of food and water. I found I don't need to really play now, I check in every couple days to see if my guy still has food and drink(cause that drains even while offline if I'm not mistaken). I guess I can kill zombies, but their zigzag running makes it an activity that even a good player can't do that very safely. I'm a good person too, so I don't want to hunt players. I could try to find a gillie suit and GPS - but dat drop rate. I could repair vehicles, but those just make you a target more than they help imo. The best suggestion I can make is a "rebuilding" feature more for houses than vehicles. The ability to put together water purifiers(mater pond water undrinkable without running it though a charcoal and sand filter), building a generator(out of an engine, fuel, and a couple alternators), etc etc.

Dear Rocket, first i was skeptic about DayZ, so i tried it out by buying Arma:CO and it was worth it, but theres one thing that is a bit sucky. I mean the Vehicles. 17 vehicles for such a big map isn't much, especially when a group of 4-8 players hord all the vehicles. Will be there more vehicle spawns in the future? So that even a newbie has a chance getting a vehicle at the start and doesn't has to search for hours on the map end in forests for a vehicle camp. Maybe more UAZ? Or much more Skodas and Wolgas, because they were pretty common in the old UDSSR. What about those damn roadblocks and destroyed vehicles? Isn't there a bit too much of them blocking the entire road so you are forced to drive around the entire town. I hope you will answer my Question. Greetings from Switzerland

How long do cars last, and what is considered "off map?"

All the blood bags, Stanag mags, m14s in the world arent gonna stop me from stealing your vehicle. Most people have all that, most people dont have vehicles. -
Arma CO and OA no longer works properly. Missing files.
Sushin posted a topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I have the Steam version of Arma 2 and OA on Windows 7. My problem is that after using the Sixupdater to play DayZ now, which works fine, I can no longer play normally OA or CO when I launch the game through Steam. When I do, everything seems to work ok until I load a mission. When that happens, I get an error message saying something like: "No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgVehicles/citizen.scope'." but it's different depending on the map I load. Once the map is loaded, the American Army showcase for example, all the vehicles are missing except the ATV and motercycle, and my character has no gun, and there is only one NPC. In other maps, it seems like my character is missing so instead of controlling an avatar, I get an overhead view of the map and that's it. -
Anyone else feel that .50 cals....

Anyone take a big transport VZ3 civilian truck from a forest on US 382?
Slyguy65 replied to Slyguy65's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
no this was just last night...we hid it and logged now its gone the tent vanished but then the server restarted off schedule and the tent was back...nothing in it...and the truck has yet to reappear...it really feels like servers have just been plain broken recently, but ya like i said. Are there any "safe" servers that don't erase loot like tents and vehicles cause every server i try starting a base on seems to F me over. -
Oh and also, I would really like to add something. I noticed you seem to like "The Walking Dead" series and there is one suggestion I have for you. You know that scene where there is a traffic jam with all the cars? That would be a really nice implementation to the map. Only a few of these cars would be repairable or they could all be non-repairable vehicles some filled with trash some filled with some good loot. This place would have loot that you would imagine people taking when they are fleeing during an apocalypse (food, drinks, maps, knives, backpacks, tents, etc.) Just an idea.

US750 Kicking Players without cause
landshark replied to dark6-6's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Kicking people off a server (forcing them to exit the game) is the highest form of 'stopping that' available. To say otherwise would be insanity. Unfortunately for you, the DayZ server/admin rules were not made up in 'your mind', they were explicitly spelled out by Rocket. I could quote the list of rules that you broke, but someone has already done that in this thread. Ultimately, you very well 100% without any doubt broke the rules. There -zero- reason to dispute that, because it's fact. Please cite the rule that explains how hoarding is not allowed. For all my time spent reading the rules, I've never come across one. At the time of this writing, there isn't one, and again this is fact, so no reason to dispute it with the game players. Disputing it with Rocket would be a better avenue for your frustration and I'm surprised you haven't done so (if you have, then I'm not aware of it). The word "fair" could never be used to describe DayZ. Obviously you have played Dayz, is any of it fair? This game is a sandbox griefers paradise and Rocket is well aware of that, he even boasts it! It's also one of the selling points of DayZ and arguably enhances the excitement while playing, because you never know who to trust, but can still benefit from working together with other players (which is exactly what CQF did). Also, did you bother to even ask the CQF members if you could have some of the vehicles or equipment they were 'hoarding'? If the players on a DayZ server are causing the gameplay to get frustrating for you, there are hundreds of other DayZ servers to join instead. Just like CQF has the option to join any server they want, so do you. All I understand is that some DayZ players weren't playing the game the way you want them to, and so you kicked them off the server. That's really what it comes down to. They did so by not breaking any rules. Instead of switching servers or asking for their help, etc you chose to kick them off. You are the one who ruined it for everyone, because your actions have lead to the server coming down permanently (as you have stated, the server will not be renewed). Had you simply approached them in a mature manner this would have all been worked out for everyone's best interest. CQF is a well known FRIENDLY clan willing to help those who need or ask for it. However, when CQF is approached by hostility (i.e. being kicked off the server) you should expect some kind of retaliation, be it the creation of this thread or having more CQF join your server to cause some in-game havoc. That sounds like it's a great tactic! I'm glad CQF is using it, it means their camps are hopefully safer than if they had placed it somewhere more populated or well traveled. When I join a server, this is my mindset, "I'm going to gather as much helpful equipment as possible in the safest and most efficient way possible. I will then create a base for me to use in case I need to re-supply myself." All of the CQF actions fall within that mindset. The term 'hoarding' is kind of a junk term. The act of efficiently searching an area for supplies is just that, an efficient use of time and a great way to ensure in-game sustainability and character/clan life. The term 'hoarding' is used to describe that efficient use of time. -
Anyone take a big transport VZ3 civilian truck from a forest on US 382?

I'd keep checking Sly. I've had vehicles disappear and upon a restart they show back up. -
My initial thoughts: Great to hear you're finally logging data on how to fix the disconnect during combat exploit. However, I think that the bad reputation -> warnings -> bans are severely flawed. Unfortunately, the mod just isn't stable enough for this type of system to work. There are many combinations of server settings, some aren't even listed on the server name in the browser (or sometimes, they are just wrong, like when using DayZ Commander) - and sometimes I log in to a server I think will be good, but turns out it is actually 100% blackout dark. Or, crosshairs will be off when they say they are on, etc etc. Sometimes I will connect to a server after a very long time period, only to find that the server is lagged beyond belief and I'm getting 5 fps. Punishing people who are trying to play on a specific type of server doesn't seem right. Also, I'm sure people who are willing to disconnect during a fight would do it every single time they need to, and just take a break while the cooldown expires. A better solution, as discussed would be just the logout delay (I know you have mentioned this is being implemented). I also realize that no bans will be given from disconnecting at this point, I just don't think you should move forward with that solution until there is a way to reduce the amount of false positives it will generate. Suggesting a review ticket system would just be swarmed with thousands of appeals, anywhere within a large spectrum of innocent to guilty. As far as the suicide controversy goes - I'm pretty sure if players want to respawn somewhere near a group/town they're just going to run into the water until they die (you can drown in this game right?), or just aggro some zombies until they kill themselves... Don't see how removing the respawn button prevents constant respawning tbh Glad to hear helicopters and clothing will be returning. Moar vehicles and different skins/paperdolls add a great touch to the mod.

US750 Kicking Players without cause
dark6-6 replied to dark6-6's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
So, honestly, I agree with you on a lot of points. I know, as one of our now ex members rented a server on his own and kicked players for doing things he didn't like, that this can blow up in your face really quickly. I believe server admins should have powers to run their stuff as "carebear" as they like. Even have servers with no PvP, where you can all safely go to Cherno if you want and use the NVG's and Mk 48's you farmed to do glorious battle with hordes of undead as you circle overhead in your chopper without fear of getting shot down. The thing I took issue with is the manner my Clan member was addressed. Honestly, CQF is made of people who work cooperatively and enjoy PvE. My group responds to requests for help from people that aren't even in our clan, which I'm sure you can imagine is about as risky as Running through Cherno with a lit flare at night blazing dubstep through direct channel. I joined just to see if I could find an Admin to get more details as to why they were being kicked and take those issues to my superiors if you felt they were being rude or if you'd had a bad experience. If you didn't like what was going on, all that would have been needed is a "Hey, I would appreciate if you would leave vehicles for other players as my smaller group would like to work on them." Not only would I have agreed, I would have posted a notice on our board and then gave you a hand if you'd like. Instead, I get chainkicked and called a faggot by your admin. Honestly, my first instinct would be to go in there and start using your boys for target practice. That isn't my deal though. Instead, I would extend an invite to one of our servers, and if you'd like a chance to play with us to get a feel for how our group works. I'd like a chance to apologize for how our group's actions made you feel. I assure you it wasn't intentional, and I'm the last person to bitch at admins. I hope that you continue to run your server in the manner that you see fit and can continue to enjoy the company of your peers. I also hope that this will help you reconsider your stance on my group, and maybe one of these days, when you get a broken leg and you need some help, maybe I'll be there with a blood bag and some morphine to help you out. That's what the CQF is all about. -
Green Mountain Survivors [GMS] Clan and twitch radio station.
Warlord Bob replied to Dr.Lyme's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This is an application for three people actually; we are all interested in becoming GMS members Names: Chris / Jason / Patrick Age: 31, 35, 36 In game name: Warlord_Bob / Dax_Scrim / PWheeler Steam Id: War Lord Bob / Dax Scrim / patrick.w.wheeler Desired combat role (Medic, sniper, exc): Long range expedition squad. (multi-role) Why we would like to join: We've been roaming by ourselves with no server or clan to call home. We would love to join a larger community and really get more out of this already great game. We've always had the mindset to avoid talking lives unless required to do so, and even helping the wayward traveler if they allow us to do so. What can you offer to the clan: Defence of Green Mountain. Joining the clan for events and down time as well as providing the community with our services and supplies whenever needed. Reporting locations of crash sites and vehicles. Gathering equipment, supplies and ammo on request (clan wish list). -
Bought new cd key but im still banned
jaynich replied to asjak5's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Funny thing is, when cheaters spawn in ammo crates, you can't view what's inside unless you spawned it yourself. Otherwise it's just empty. I know this because I too have been banned for it. But I was using the script on a private server to test weapons and learn to drive the vehicles. Anyway, you're better off with a Retail. Steam likes to make things difficult. -
I think as it stands, the issue that comes up is that night time encourages people to switch servers to avoid the massive number of issues that night time brings up for starting characters. I mean, lets be honest, without a good weapon and night vision goggles, night time becomes a significantly harder experience then day time. And when there is no penalty for switching servers to a day time one (besides perhaps a loss of vehicles should you be so lucky) there is very little reason not to just jump off. Now, I do like how intense it is, and I approve of taking it seriously, but I see this as an issue that should be looked at.
