Well, posting here. I will trade any of the following for a ghillie suit as mine was lost with the update, also same deal for rangefinders if anybody has some: NVG GPS Entrenching Tool (Don't have any sandbags tho) M249 AS50 DMR M107 M24 M4A1 CCO SD FN FAL ANPV S4 L85A2 AWS M9SD List seems crazy I know but I play with a group so it's a collective, vehicles help that too. It's possible I may be able to spare a clip or two for said guns, but check with me first please. Made a similiar post in someone else's rangefinder request thread. Let me know if interested in a trade, I can be trusted, hope you can too! Steam, Skype, Teamspeak etc, whatever you want, PM me and we'll get it sorted.
  2. I believe people should be able to learn some skills while living through DayZ environment. Not like extra blood or damage, you can't make your bullets fly faster, hit stronger, or to grow yourself a blood bag. What u can do, is to learn to read a tracks. Human/vehicle tracks. e.g. every day you live you can see tracks that are extra 5 minutes old (1 day - 5 minutes. 2 days - 10 minutes etc.) U can learn to hide your footsteps (different parts of soil/grass are affected in different way - soft grounds will show your footsteps for much longer than dry soil. Paved roads will only show your first ~20 steps after you leave grass/soil - first steps will leave dirt/wet traces) U can learn to use a grenades/explosives to rig/disarm a trap (a way to make car-jacking and tent-looting more risky and difficult than now). Say after you have used 20 explosives u can rig a bomb. After u have rigged 50 bombs you know how to disarm them safely. You can learn better to avoid Zeds. Say after you killed more than 500 zeds you learn how to distract them (lure away from your path. Now u can do that using flares/junk, but you must carry some all the time, and it's EXTREMELY hard to aim when throwing objects!) You can learn to use residential/military/industrial scrap to craft a radio-scanner that will help to trace crashed helis (I guess most of military vehicles have some kind of distress beacons built into them anyway). I have no idea how to train that skill though. :) And, the most important - you can only learn ONE skill. This will motivate players to gather into gangs to help them to survive better.
  3. Not very often. We did sell a hatchback today, but we weren't using it anyways. Vehicles are a bit strange to trade, since they can't be taken across servers.
  4. This is top priority not the fcn 100/150 ppl on the server
  5. The only thing the server owner has to do it probably to restart the server another time and all your vehicles and tents will be back at their place.

My mom just asked me why I play DayZ.

It's because gamers have wanted a game like this for ages, one where hunger and thirst play a major role, one where the map is realistic, vehicles, and weapons, It's about the most realistic thing out now.
  7. Its always gonna be like this, its a game of mouse and cat. It if aint gonna be scripts and spawning vehicles, its just gonna be esp and aimbot. Complaining about it wont make much of a difference, Battleye is already contracted and how they deal with this we wont know until months from now. Its too early to tell.
  8. Thats a good idea, thanks Chauz. I will let Lee know. Also I wanted to inform people about something I read earlier today: The poster wrote the following things -Vilayer has slow support response -The owner works a day job -Sudden restarts for updates I wish to respond to this as I feel he is misguided in his assumptions: For the slow support response, we have a very limited DayZ support staff now as most of the staff works with the other games we host. We often find ourselves getting tickets about issues that really aren't dependent on us as hosts (such as hive issues, hackers and vehicles, etc etc...) so we are completely weighed down by tickets. However if you use our skypes and ts, you will find that your issues will be resolved rather quickly. On any given day we recieve 125 new tickets (120 of which are for dayz and 5 of which are for the loads of other games we host) and we try to get to them all. I would highly recommend skype or TS as those are the fastest. We are looking into hiring more staff soon. For the "owner's day job". Actually, I'm the only one that works a day job, as a US Intelligence Liason to the British Consulate. I work hard and travel frequently, but come home and help people as best I can. I keep this post up to date, because I'm the prototype dayz server admin for Vilayer. I help when my schedule allows. As for other support staff for DayZ, Lee, Ian and Jeremy are on a lot. Lee (the actual owner) works his ass off to get things in order, but you must understand that he has to sleep and live life too. If you can't understand that then I'm sorry, but thats just dumb. If something takes longer, Lee is very quick to reimburse for time missed plus more. He works hard. Ian and Jeremy are also on a lot as well, but not 24/7 because sleep exists. Our support clock nearly covers 24 hours a day (because of mucked up sleep schedules) but not all the time. Lastly, as for updates. I have mentioned to lee to put an email out about updating to clients. I think thats a good idea. However, also please consider that instead of you having to update and go through the hassle of figuring it out, all you have to do is sit there (and sometimes press a single button).. I will try to get it so that updates are warned about. Thats all I have as I just wanted to write this to let people know. I also wanted to let people know the dedication we have to this mod and our DayZ clients to ensure that they are happy. Have a good weekend Johnny PS- Lee and Ian are on all weekend, I'm not, but will be back sunday. Happy Zombie killing

    UK666 Admin Abuse

Something you should read that should clear things up...... I'm getting pretty tired of this fast spreading trend of hating admins and being entitled/ungrateful little children, so here's a short guide on what you need to know about admin abuse. 1 - Before you make any accusations here, make sure you know what powers admins have, and make sure you've got some kind of evidence to back it up. No evidence? Don't even bother making a thread. Your word alone is not enough evidence to prove anything. Making posts saying 'A tank fell on my head on EU13. Blacklist plz' isn't going to get you anywhere. 2 - Understand what powers admins have. We can: - Lock the server - Restart the server - Password the server - Restart the mission in-game - Kick or ban players We cannot: - Spawn in weapons and vehicles - Remotely kill players - Crash your game - Roll back our servers to previous 'saves' - Spawn nukes on top of players - Teleport If anything of the last list happens to you, don't rush to make a thread claiming admin abuse. It's probably a hacker. It pisses me off no end when people make threads here blaming admins for things that are clearly done by hackers. Clarifiction, the above is what an admin is able to do and not do as admin. An admin is able to lock a server for example and while it's generally not allowed, there may be valid reasons to do so - maintenance or temporary protection against heavy connection spam for example. -- DayZ Pallidum 3 - Do not presume to tell admins how they should run their servers. Running a server isn't all moonlight and roses. If you don't like a rule a certain admin imposes on his server, such as imposing a ping limit of 220, then take it up with the devs and get back to the admin with their response. Do NOT make a thread about it and then claim it's not in the rules so you can't do it. 4 - Stop quoting the rules for every goddamned thing. The rules also don't state that we're allowed to ban hackers, nor does it state that we're ever allowed to take the servers down for maintenance, nor any other thing admins do on a regular basis. We're tired of using logical arguments to back up our actions, just to be hit in the face with 'herp its not in da rulez so blacklist plz.' 5 - Understand why people are hosting servers for this mod, for you, for free. We're not doing it for our own well-being. We're doing it as a free service to the DayZ community. Stop giving admins flak about every single tiny little thing. Many of us have pretty hectic or stressful jobs/university/college outside of running the server. We don't want to add server-woes to our ever-increasing list of stressors. 6 - Stop breaking rules on servers and then when confronted about it tell us you're going to get our servers blacklisted. That's akin to the customer at the store being in the wrong and not getting his way, then telling the employees 'I'm going to tell all my friends about this.' There are many abusive admins out there, that much is true. However, the majority of us are not. We're hosting servers for your enjoyment. The majority of threads on admin abuse in these forums come from misinformed/ignorant players who have no idea what running a server entails and assumes the simplest thing that goes wrong is a clear case of admin abuse. If you suspect admin abuse, gather evidence, take it up with the admin in question, find out what his side of the story is and after that, if you're still sure it's a case of admin abuse, post about it here. Don't rush to the forums like Little Bobby Tattletale on his way to tell mommy that Benny stole a cookie. Make sure you understand what happened before you start flinging accusations.

    US53 - Server Thread

July 21, 2012 12:42 AM PST Um....so I was sitting in a car at our camp, and I alt tabbed for a moment. When I came back my guy was glitching out and every time I tried to exit the car it would pop me back into it. So I logged out and reconnected. When I came back.....I was in the middle of Debug plains.......but my car was next to me.....and so was what looks like every other vehicle on the server......I dont know what to do? What just happened and what should I do? Edit: "I found a GPS in one of the vehicles so I think I know what direction to go in to get back to the map. As of this moment (12:55am PST) Im going to scavange for some jerry cans and supplies and try to get back to the map with my car. I'm not saving any of the vehicles in hopes that they might return to their owners upon server restart. I don't know if this was a bug or hack, but this is ridiculous, even the van people stole from my group a few days ago is here."

    UK666 Admin Abuse

Posted Today, 08:00 AM I am the owner of UK666, and as i stated on skype the server restart was not of my doing... Like i also said on skype i would report this myself to John and Lee @ vilayer to look over the server restart at the time in question to prove of no wrong doing (which i did). Like i also said on skype YES it was my team who you came into contact with at the time of the restart, and we also have witnesses that can confirm we were @ north west airfield (where i was killed). Upon exiting north west airfield my remaining team mates came accross your car sitting in the middle of the road, then the server restarted and turned to night time, they came under fire with your guys (killing one of ours) and the rest got away with the vehicle. I understand your frustration as you lost gear but to come on a forum and blatantly lie about so called admin abuse is beyond me... Everyone who has added me to skype from the server has had nothing but praise for myself and the server and it's fair play policy, one clan actually praising myself for not abusing admin controls. Also in all honesty i wouldn't know where to start with teleporting and changing config files... I have problems updating the beta for christ sake! AGAIN.. like i said on skype, i can NOT control what other players do on the server and if yu did come accross 6+ vehicles (which i doubt) it was not of my doing. You could have came to me in a totally different manner but you chose to swear and accuse me of cheating in a rage after loosing your gear. Also if you paid attention to whats goin on in the server you would have seen that the 'Admin' being myself (Davii83) was killed just before you came in contact with my guys. I then sat in the lobby and was not even in the game. This can also be confirmed by TrollerToasterTycoon and his clan as they killed me (who i will link to this page also. I shall also link this page to the guys @ vilayer and hopefully they can confirm no wrong doing. Thanks, Dave [Edit]... The reason i pay for a server is so that i know there is no cheating (admin wise)... You really think i would waste money that i earn just to cheat at a game? I pay money to enjoy a game with my friends and also to help the DayZ cause! Edited by DaveyP, Today, 08:07 AM.

    The Game

The guns, vehicles, textures, IDK, but it's not just because they want to screw with you.
  14. Important Things I wish I knew earlier.... (will update every so often as I find new stuff, suggestions are welcome) Zombies You can lose zombies in buildings, because they can only walk No buildings to lose them in? find a hill, you can run up a hill and zig-zag left and right, this causes the zombies to walk up the hill, which slows them to a very slow walk allowing you to prone and get away No hills or buildings? never fear, if your close to a dock just sit around the pier and wait for your opportunity to escape, they zombies usually walk into the water and are slow Don't fight zombies on stairs, you have a greater chance of encountering the zombie 'super attack' which does massive damage, you'll also have a higher chance of breaking bones on stairs while fighting a zombie. Zombies can glitch through walls slightly and attack you, they can sometimes get through doors too, and up stairs/ladders so don't put your back to an open wall. Keep your distance from hoppers (hopping zombies) they seem to have the longest aggro range of all zombies. If you have a gun, and your in a city with zombies all around you simply must shoot a zombie to defend yourself always use your sidearm, they are a lot quieter than many primary weapons. Remember hatchet is just as effective as an Makarov Pistol but silent. Hatchets are usually one hit kill vs zombies, aim for their legs for the best chance to not miss, Crowbars will take about 3 hits to kill a zombie. PvP Combat (basic survival against other survivors in new areas/cities) Close quarter combat, Hatchet vs Gun usually wins as it knocks them unconscious pretty quick and breaks bones. Just remember to strafe around that player while swiping with the axe so they cant lock their aim on you with their gun. Scope out where you want to go, watch it for a bit to see if anyones around, then move in, don't just rush in. DON'T trust anyone coming at you with a hatchet, just GTFO, don't bother shooting them unless you have the element of surprise When you kill a player don't loot him straight away, pay attention and watch flanks from the back for about a minute in case he's got a buddy. Remember the rules for close quarter combat, HATCHET, if your in a narrow corridor / stairs then a gun is preferred. Lots of zombies in the far distance means there is likely a couple players around that area, and is unsafe, a couple zombies around usually means its just you (you learn how to distinguish this with practice). Sprint out of combat if you don't think you are going to win or have been ambushed, just GTFO your pursuer can't shoot if he wants to chase after you, zig zag run like a mo fo into the nearest forest or weave in/out of buildings.. Use the cover of the forest for cover, don't walk in the road/coast. High Risk Areas (PvP) Electro - Forest area behind the power station in the hills is frequently visited by high end snipers in ghillies, avoid the road alongside the fire station at all costs unless you don't mind losing your gear. Electro - Grocery store, the hill directly behind it is watched by snipers, make sure to check this before entering via the back. Cherno - The Northwest Hospital, snipers frequently sit in the four apartment buildings and snipe people, be sure to go far back around the bottom hill to stay out of sight of these buildings during your approach. Cherno - Fire station, players often sit atop the stairs aiming down, waiting for that unwary survivor. General Survival Sprinting by double tapping forward, will raise your body temperature to the maximum, even in rain! *you don't want to go below 36degrees* Don't drink / eat until they are blinking red, from there it takes five minutes before you will start losing blood (20/psec). Water Canteens can be filled via water pumps around some cities and locations, and also ponds. Eating 'Cooked Meat' will restore 800blood per piece, this can bring you back to full from the brink of death. Cows give 8 pieces and are often found near barns & open fields, you need Hatchet (chop wood), Hunting Knife (to gut animal) and Matches (to make fireplace). If you only have a hunting knife you can find fire bins around major cities and use them to cook. General Stuff to watch out for & oddities (I've learned the below the hard way) Don't crash vehicles into trees, cars explode a lot easier than you think and kill you instantly (if your lucky you'll be thrown out the window) Don't log out when your in a car, as when you re-log you'll be crushed by the car and die. Don't drive too fast on the main roads, rubble can pop in suddenly and BANG out the fkn window you go, bleeding like a mo fucker and losing 8k blood. Don't forget to 'Save' the vehicle after you put a replacement part on it, or it wont apply when you logout/back in. Biggest Don't!!! climb around rock faces or try to jump up/around them, there is a bug where you can lose control and just slide down a bit & randomly break your bones & insta death (lost my ghillie suit and night vision goggles doing this, body was bugged and couldn't loot it when I got back) Don't place items into a tent until the server has been restarted after placing it, or it eats your items. I've tested this three times and after the first server reboot items never disappeared for me. Don't place items into your PBX Boat, it has no inventory and will eat your items (lost two silenced weapons because of this) Don't put weapons/items into your backpack if you don't have room, your weapon/item WILL disappear forever. Don't just 'TAKE Backpack' you'll lose everything in your current pack, transfer the items from your current backpack into the new one first via the 'Gear' or 'Open xxx backpack' option when you scroll See a backpack and can't pick it up? clear the junk around it first and then you can loot it. Ghillie suits do work now, but your zombie kills/murders won't update until you next login (just doesn't update in real time is all) Web Resources Interactive Map with loot locations & vehicle spawns (must have for any newbie)- http://dayzdb.com/map#3.072.086 Wiki Page to answer all the questions you may have about items and/or their use - http://dayzwiki.com/...title=Main_Page YouTube Videos - Search 'DayZ How To' if you don't understand something in the wiki/game.

The one thing i hate about Dayz

You also have to remember that due to the fact that our characters run so fast, vehicles are sort of obsolete. I mean yeah, sure you need one if you're going from one end of the map to the other, but the random shit that happens to them - ATVs flip, cars blow up - makes them a rather dangerous form of travel - not forgetting the fact that anyone and everyone will shoot at you as you're riding around in your big bullet magnet.
  16. I think there are too many duplicated items spreading around the servers. upon the next update. I suggest that all players gear is removed and all tents and vehicles are removed, in order to reset the mod to a stable testable state.

i wanna get a car or something

You can find vehicle parts in large factories and random barns. First you need to find a vehicle. On a lot of maps they get hoarded by the Admin or clans, in that case you need to find their base and steal it from them (also destroy the other vehicles). If you do find a vehicle to fix up you'll be doing a lot of running parts. Wheels take up 6 slots for example. Use this guide: http://dayzwiki.com/...=Vehicle_Repair In my experience it's better to just wait until you find one by chance. Head North and start searching the edges of the map if your really in need. Good luck.
  19. thisisbleep

    Helicopters?

There was de-sync issues and the radar was far too overpowered, it shows where all of the other vehicles are on the map. Once those are fixed it should become available again.
  20. GeneticAssclown

    Camp Griefing

I've never had to, but if I saw a camp, I'd destroy it. In a way, you're doing a favor for them by giving them more stuff to do (as in, start over). Imagine if you had a camp filled with every weapon imaginable, all the vehicles on the server, and all the food and drink you need until DayZ standalone is launched because your camp was never touched. Not once. How fun would that be? Not very.
  21. I always give 5 minute warnings. Missing tents/vehicles is a server loading issue and is usually fixed with another server restart.
  22. basicly the best way to find cars is to hunt for player camps, they can be anywhere sure, but theres 3 rules for camp hunting: 1. people camp places that are easy for them to go back to, meaning; 2. people will camp near landmarks they can recognise, clearings, rocks, interesting shapes on the maps, height markers 3. while some will hide minor things (ATVs, bikes, pushbikes) near to major loot spawns or nearer the middle of a map, the more loot spawns around a place, the higher chances somone will run through it, so people with lots to lose will chose harder and more inconvinient hiding places to protect it As for actually going out and then finding the vehicles, the best bet is to set aside a couple of hours, stock up on food and water and journey around the edge of the map, coming inland to check clearings and distinctive map markings till you find one. the OTHER option which is much more based on luck and requires having a car in the first place is to simply drive around the map, going through every town and village, because people raiding little towns and villages rarely bother to park their cars outside as it takes too long transferring loot, so you can find pristine vehicles just sat in the middle of the road... just watch out for owners ;)
  23. Hey after one of your surprise server resets my group lost every one of it's tent's/vehicles. This is pretty disturbing since we've pretty much spent the last 3 days rounding it all together.. so question, are we going to get all our crap back or what?
  24. Hello, Since I am getting a little bit annoyed by the amount of utterly useless and often pointless opinions of noobs who somehow got their hands on this game, I finnaly deceided to make a manual for this mod myself. It will not only cover some of the basics, it will also be riddled with my own views and thoughts on this game and on the statements of others. It will be a manual about longer lifetimes, and higher gains allround. Fun.. is just a totaly other factor, but it sure is present. Lets just start off with the very basics of this game: Why have you bought it? This seems to be the main point of many dissapointments. Because there are many topics about people being dissapointed in some way or another, most often just people who have been shot, blaming every single thing on the shooter. They will state on how peacefull they where minding their own business and BOOOM! out of nowhere comes this little codkiddie who just kills them. But let me tell you a little secret: Unless its a bug, which also made me swim for a long time once, it will be 100% your own fault if you die. YOU chose to make a target out of yourself, YOU chose to walk up to people asking them if they are friendly without even realizing if they even speak your language, or wheter they are scared or not. I am playing this game for way over four months now and I've died 8 to 9 times. Only ONCE I died because of another person who shot me because we crossed paths. And do you know where we crossed paths? in the good ol Cherno, where I spawned after one of my mates accidently shot me in the face because he was alt-tabbed and impatienlty clicked himself back into the game, clicking one time to much. Other times it was just zombies raping me because there was a time where even I was new to this great mod. There really is'nt much to learn from that, only that Cherno, and even the whole coastline, is a place to avoid at any time. Its the rally-point of so many dangers! Not only are there many armed killers looking for easy kills, there are also people who just died, people who therefor don't care alot since they lost everything. They can go and have some fun at the coast, like creating zombie-trains and other things which can get YOU killed, and that is what we are here for to avoid. So lets say you are here to survive, get off that dreadfull beach and head inland immediatly, but don't even think about going into a town just yet. First we need weapons and ammo. The best way is to look for deerstands, barns and stables, and if you google just 0,001 sec you will find many maps on where to find them. You can get into them without a gun, just wait long enough for the zombies to make some distance between you and the building, just sneak in, get what you need and get out. I prever quantity over quality because zombies walk when they are inside buildings, making them very easy to shoot in the face, even with the lowest caliber this game has to offer. Ammo for the "weaker" weapons is also more common and if it kills it kills does'nt it? Obviously your food management also needs to be in check, but this is not to big of a deal. You will find more food and drinks than you actually need. The second most important thing of staying alive is cover. Always asume that someone is watching you, or that someone is hearing you. Don't let this sound paranoia but it sure helps. Knowing the surroundings, which escape routes they offer, knowing the enterable buildings and barns before you head into town, these are all very important if you get in contact with either zeds or other survivors. Imagine a zed sees you, you will know the enterable buildings since you observed the town, you will know which one is closest. When you make it inside its just a matter of easy headshotting untill the threat is gone. Where zeds are quite easy, some survivors are not, but if they manage somehow to mis you, never go prone. HEAR where the shots are comming from, MOVE in a way that puts as much obstacles between you and the shooter, just EVERYTHING to avoid his line of fire. In my opinion the ditches and downhill routes are the best. If you manage to get behind a hill you will gain the upper hand on your attacker. You can now deceide to either flank left or right, or to wait for him to come after you if he is dumb enough. If the shooter was very close, just lob your nades over the hill in his general direction, if you happen to have some nades ofcourse. But whatever you do, never disconnect, hold your honour. Some days ago I was up against 2 guys in the pitch black night. They where drawn to my flares and they went looking for me. Since I heard their car I was ready and prepared in an ambush position to take their lifes. I peaked arround the tree I was hiding behind and I could see 2 guys, I shot one of them, the other one fled the scene and disconnected. I had gained: NVG's, GPS, binoculars, matches, an axe, a L85 TWS, the big coyote backpack and some other stuff which makes it a neat loot. Some call it a walking simulator and it sure is 95% of the time, but it are the 5%'s that are counting, after that engagement I was shaking and cheering of joy! You can choose the more boring way to survive for a very long time, making it 100% walking, or sitting in this case. Just get a map, compass, hatchet, matches, any backpack and all the canteens you can carry and go into the bushes near a lake/pond. Just axemurder some animals for food and drink water from the ponds and just sit in the bushes without ever having to go downtown while you are ranking to the #1 spot on the leaderboards of "Alive Survivors". Which brings me on to the next point, named the PvP and the horse-shit surrounding it. Just imagine a server without PvP, joy of joy will that be great, your noobbrain will be thinking. But if there is no loss, due to death, there will only be gain. You WILL arrive at a point where you have EVERYTHING the mod has to offer, and now what? just fuck arround? You can already do that in the games editor, just place all the vehicles you want, and go fuck arround in those. Hell I've played Arma 2 since its release date and 90% of the time I used it as a flight-simulator, flying arround in choppers all day since I liked to do so. The VERY big point (and essence) of this game is to give you fear, the fear of loosing it all, which makes this mod so great. If you don't like that, dont judge the game and just fuck off and play another game. Which brings me to the next point, named the CoD-kiddies and the horse-shit surrounding it. To start with, they don't even exist. Dayz can't even be compared to CoD. I once killed 3 survivors and fucking hell I did'nt get my killstreak, which proves my point. The term was emerged from the very noobs (possibly even playing COD themselves) who came to this game, thinking that it is all about teaming up and being in Cherno (great line by a great person) Boy where they wrong. Ofcourse you can team up, do so with mates you KNOW, and mates you can keep in contact with the WHOLE time via a voice server. Don't feel bad if you killed someone, they made a target out of themself, they deserve it. Hell I even made some great friends by just shooting them! And just because everyone shoots you DOES NOT mean that there are no big groups, you can find alot of them on the forums, although the smarter onces stay away from that, since openly recruiting on the forums is a great way to get backstabbers in your communities. Also don't bother about save-zones, people WILL get in and they WILL ruin your shitty save-zone. Killing happens, wheter it is self defence or some bob sniping in the hills over Cherno, it will happen, its up to you to put on your sun-glasses and deal with it. Also, for a little fact, I am a Cod-player myself. Although I play the older Cod4 I still play it on a daily basis, problem? My final point is about 3rd-vs-1st person. I personally think 3rd person is a bit pathetic, being able to look over and arround walls without physically putting your head over/arround it. I have seen many dayz footage of people who go prone when in danger, and when they finaly aim, they will only see grass, because they are not part of the surroundings, which may lead to pathetic cover and even death. Also the amount of time it takes to aim fast is way longer then when you are already in 1st person. In 1st person your view will be lower to the ground, which makes you more aware of all the angles and it will improve your aim drasticly. Ofcourse, when you prefer 1st person never go to servers which have 3rd person on so that you are equal to all the others in the server. It might be harder to spot others, but others will also have more trouble spotting you, which is saver if you really think about it. And ofcourse, when you spot something you'll know immediatly wheter you are a easy target or not because you have more POV than when you are in some invisible camera floating behind you. If you get sick of the moving screen just go to the game options and lower the "head bobbing" etc etc. And the biggest tip of tips: Don't be a blittering idiot and LEARN or ADJUST the controlls of this game into your liking! This about sums up my way of playing and how I look at this game, I am sure I forgot to add some things and I am sure there will be people who will disagree with me on some points and they are completely allowed to do so, hopefully proving more of my statements. I also don't care if you call me the whinebox, I wont sleep any minute shorter because of that. If you want to own me in a Cod4 pcw feel free to contact me, as long as you are above med+ skill since I dont want to waste my time (promod211 server:ON not cracked btw) I do apologize to the way it has been written. English is not my native language which makes it a bit harder for me to type everything in a more interesting way. Yes I am aware there might be some grammar errors, but talking proper English is a whole other business. Also feel free to ask whatever you like :) KarbineR-
  25. So, this is just a little story of what happened to myself and my friends the other night, not a whine or a rant (maybe a little bit of a rant). We set off as a group of 4, we had all been alive a while and had aquired a selection of mid to high rarity weapons, as well as building up a camp of 6 tents and 4 vehicles (3 stolen and 1 trashed as our camp was sacked after we logged, but thats not the point) after setting up and piling into our truck we set off for the northen airfield, going via a hospital and stocking up on enough medical supplies that we could just go nuts with the Zs up there and not worry about blood loss, leg breaks etc. Amazingly the NWAF was quiet and full of fresh loot, which suprised us as the server was reasonably busy (25~ people on) and so encouraged by our success there we set off for stary sobor for the military tents, high yield, high risk as we all know what the snipers are like in stary. But we were confident, there were 4 of us, all armed decently with large stocks of ammo, and one of our number with an M104 to cover us from the woods while the rest of us looted the tents. but of course being in a truck (the vs3) that is louder than the sound of the windows start up noise at 3am when everyone else in the house is asleep, taking the truck all the way in would give us away to anyone nearby in an instant. so after parking the truck back some way in a forest we set off towards the tents, moving cautiously in the hope of coming on anyone sniping from the hill from behind and to scout the tents for people. as we went, chatting away on TS, one of our number lost sight of us and fell back a little way, so the rest of us circled around trying to find them again. Then everything went to hell, one of our group of 3 still together spotted who they thought was our 4th, same clothing colour and same sunglasses (damn numbers of people in aviators!) he looked at them for a moment before suddenly announcing he had been shot down and in the confusion while we tried to figure out if it was friendly fire or confusion as we expected, the mystery 5th person gunned down the second of the people with me, and as i hunted desperately for them hoping to avenge my fallen comrades so we could salvage their gear, he opened fire on me as i tried to scope on him for the headshot, in retrospect, the m16 acog isnt great at close range with the scope ^^; luckilly before he could kill me i dashed sideways into a cluster of bushes and began frantically bandaging myself as i was bleeding in pain and at 3k blood, as well as shouting for our 4th to try to get a bead on us before the player spotted me and finished me off, as i had failed to bring painkillers and was unable to defend myself sufficiently at that point. And then, joy of joys our 4th announces she has the guy in her sights, and the other 3 of us all shout for her to blow him away, her first shot takes out his legs, crippling him, and then... that *insert string of profanity here* disconnects to avoid taking the death he so fairly deserved. now most of us at some time have D/Ced to escape, and we all have our rules in our heads about what point its ok to exit out after PVPing/aggroing, if it be when you're just starting and cant defend yourself or when you've eluded your persuers and hidden long enough to feel safe but not want to venture back out to the town/airfield/whatever you were exploring, but this is just the worst kind of abuse, picking a fight, finding you're not winning and escaping like a coward But the big thing from this story is my question: does anyone else find it really damn hard to tell who the hell each person is if you dont have their name showing up?
