Hello there! Any information about useful supplies, weapons, and vehicles I suggest to post here. And I'll throw first stone myself: First of all Chernarus map At northwest airport there is always spawning AKM. Silenced MP5 do little damage to zombies. Once found Pickup near Vybor but w/o wheels, saw some players on bike:huh: Dunno where to find Night Vision Goggles but someone said it can be found in military bases. Zombies spawn only near towns and only when you are close enough, if you see zombie at large distances - there is another player there. Cow give you 8 pieces of meat - 800 blood each, and you can double it with friend and two knifes (bug) ...

US1169 ADMIN ABUSE RESETTING SERVER
Ragotag replied to toxin232323's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
It wasn't Ghosthawx, he is not an admin, and US1169 has been unstable as hell for the last 24-hours with frequent server resets, disappearing vehicles and tents, huge amounts of lag, and possible hackers executing murder scripts on random players. Heck, I logged off just before noon today -- alive and well, and logged back on around 12:30PM only to be instantly teleported over to debug forest and then back to my original location, followed by seeing my death notification in the bottom left corner of the screen while still in game and walking/running around with a broken leg and a wiped inventory -- go figure. Simple fact is, this server is a disaster and highly unstable and what you experienced is just a coincidence of such. -
I don't want to get banned for this!
[email protected] replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Forgive my hostility, I was just a little peeved that someone had the courage to accusing my team of "hoarding" the vehicles, yet use each vehicle every day for various reasons. Well, except the bus. But who needs a bus. I removed swear words (in quote above). Sound less hostile to you? -
Most hackers also spawn crates of hacked weapons and hacked vehicles as well, its pretty standard procedure to restart/shut down the server as soon as you get evidence of a hacker so you can wipe the spawned in items out before someone finds them and abuses them. If you don't like the fact that guy is trying to help the community by nailing a hacker then don't play on his server, or on my server for the matter, as I'd do the same thing.

My current gear is not very bragworthy, but I currently have an AS50, M1911, AKS-74 Kobra, ghillie suit, ALICE pack, rangefinder, GPS and all of the basic tools to answer the thread. We used to have alot of equipment in our group, but we lost most of it because of the server we had it stored on going to shit (all in all 34 primaries stored in 3 vehicles, of which 30 of the weapons were from helicopter crash sites and the barracks).

Ryan yes if the admin was in game he may of been teleported also but he still can not do anything but abort from the game, if that was successful and he never got killed he would then have a few choices none of which are instant. He could restart the server which the hacker/s could then just rejoin and continue doing what he/she was doing. They could then go through server logs to look for any evidence as to who the hacker was, even after doing this they probably would not find anything to be able to tell who it was. Dayz server logs are very big, for example if you sit and watch the server console in a server that has 20 plus players on it, its almost unreadable it goes by so quick. Admins really can not do anything right now. My example was, hackers joined my server, they teleported all vehicles to one location off the map and killed any player unlucky enough to be in any of those vehicles. 1. When this happened none of our group was in a vehcle 2. We never knew at the exact time that hackers were to blame 3. We did notice one of our vehicles was missing and another we were fixing had dissapeared 4. The way dayz is right now with vehciles and tents dissapearing we could not say 100 percent it must have been hackers or that maybe someone else had drove off in the vehicles 5. The only way we confirmed it was hackers is that another player on our server reported what happened on our own forums 6. After going through all the logs we were unable to find any evidence to who the hackers were. Even if the admin was also teleported, if it is a server with no name tags, they still could not actually do anything ie ban a player Server admins can only actually ban people for 2 reasons 1. Racism and 2. Malicious talk Banning hackers is a whole different story, if the server say had name tags and the admin or another player had recorded what happened and managed to capture the hacker then I guess the admin could ban and post the evidence in the cheat reporting topic If admins just start banning players with no evidence they could risk having the server blacklisted, thats the way I see it If the server has no crosshairs/name tags then the only real way to get evidence is through server logs but as I said right now its unlikley to find any incriminating evidence there.

3rd suggestion is to add a lootable notepad, with say 5 sheets on which u can write whatever you want, and then have an option to leave a note to any gear pile, as well as tents/vehicles. when someone comes across it theyll bne able to pick it up and read what's on there

They spawned many vehicles, 3 heli, 1 quad, 1 van, and when we killed them, they restarded the server. They has ghilie suit, and all best weapons. They exploited thiere commands They used wallhack too, when we respawned, they rushed on us, until we were hide and prone. Player "Eddie "Stud" Farmer" Congrats admins retards

He was definitely still at it for over an hour. Once it got dark, though, he seemed to have calmed down up until the point where he spawned so many vehicles, about everyone on the server had one, and he was just hunting down the headlights. I ran him down multiple times, usually resulting in a reply like, "Your dead when i respawn pussy". At one point, Glycerine and I just drove through the streets picking up survivors only for him to teleport in-front of us and spray the windshield down.

Server: PA 2 - Full name shown in screenshots. Time: 10:40am est Report: Around 10:30am est or so me and a friend had just started heading back towards the NWAF after retrieving medical supplies from Berenzino. We were traveling via motorcycle. As we rounded one of the dirt roads just outside the airfield wall we came under heavy machine gun fire. Obviously, we got killed. We originally thought this was just a good ambush, seeing how close we were to a danger zone such as NWAF. We re-spawn in our respective areas and notice half of the cities are on fire and there are vehicles and items everywhere. Then we notice an individual named GioLeo teleporting to our locations and either, killing us, spawning a vehicle on us, or spawning in items. I created a little photo album of his adventures as he tormented me after my spawn at Elektro. He continued griefing players on the server, even losing connection and rejoining under the same name to continue. http://imgur.com/a/MLcAC#5

Hey, I cn understand your point about haxers. How ever, The haxers I have seen tend to spawn in a weapon and ammo and thats about it. We aree a group of over 10 clan members, we have a huge arsenal of gear over 3 or 4 servers. As50's are everywhere and when you have the number of vehicles we do it's not hard to find them on heli crash sights. We just left another server due to a number of haxers tping every 1 and slaying them. Was told your server was ok so it's a shame this has happened. 1 way to solve this would be to drop the vehicle (both) some where with their gear in and let them know where it is to collect without shooting them. We really enjoy this game and appreciate server hosts, so we wouldn't want to fall out. As for guilli suits, easily found in tents. ;)

Me and my buddy were talking yesterday and it would be really cool if vehicles came with a key and has to have the key to start it. But on the other hand add a hot wire kit on a rare-ish spawn so if people want to steal your vehicle from your camp they cant just walk up and take it after you spent 2 hours fixing it up.

List 3 things you would change about this game
Hashisx replied to -NGR- Larkinto's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Zombies - More zombies, i never see the "hordes" anymore. Make them more smart. Map - 3x Larger with more buildings to enter, more loot spawns however low grade loot. Vehicles - More atvs, motorbikes. -
I don't feel like I answered these on a bias premise. Most people need to understand that when you play a sand box game that players control how the game is played. Not devs. Alt-f4 - Yes we all know this is pretty lame. Rocket knows. They are doing their best to try and fix this. Remember this is a mod and they don't control the arma engine. Zombies - Unless you don't watch any of the interviews Rocket has stated he wants them to be able to run, swim, climb. These "zombies" , he says infected, aren't the movie brain dead zeds we've seen many times. The zombies do seem dumbed down. If anything they need to more intelligent. Bandits - Bandits is a huge part of the game. PvP tends to be one of the major activities in sandbox games. Punishing someone for killing is out of the question. That will never happen. AS50/M107/L85 - These guns should never be removed from the game. The .50 cals are the best for disabling vehicles, especially helicopters when they get put back in, so I don't see a reason to remove these. The L85 in itself is a terrible gun to shoot people with and is only good for spotting. Most people who have used this gun will know what I am talking about. Hackers - There is not much Rocket can do with this other than ban GUIDs from the hive. However you need some pretty hard proof. To implement a better AC would almost be impossible. Arma2 is pretty old so just deal with it until the stand alone. I have been in many servers that has yet to see a hacker. Yes I have dealt with hackers. Admin Abuse - Don't come on here and cry admin abuse without proof first. I don't know how many threads I have gone through where its people just going back and forth with no hard evidence. Also admins need to post logs. There is nothing special in these logs other then cold hard facts. Loot Cycling - It's not clear if this is a exploit or not. It's well within the game mechanics. I wouldn't even consider this a problem. Kill on Sight - This is just depending on the person. Life or Death situations tend to have rash decisions. Avoid high populated areas if it's that big of a problem for you.

HFB Camo / Ghillie suit problem fixed
NocturnalS1n replied to phisher34's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
So is it guaranteed that tents, vehicles, etc. will stay after a reinstall? That is my only qualm about taking such a measure if there is a risk for losing stuff. I mean everything stayed for your server, and if that is the case with any reinstall, it'd be great to know. -
Music you listen to while playing DayZ
DrHellNo replied to nightmareus's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah, as much as I love listening to music while playing games (and in general for that matter) listening to music while playing DayZ will ultimately just get you killed because sound is far too important in a game like this. Hearing gunshots, vehicles, or other players movements is going to save your life. Not hearing them will cost it, simple as that. -

nicraM posted a topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
This is from playing today. We went all over today and encountered a few vehicles. I had videos of a heli too but nothing really happened and we desynced and that was that. But either way, the experiences in the videos were great fun. I hope you enjoy watching them as much as I enjoyed making them. Subscribe to my channel. I'll probably have more videos on a weekly basis. Yeah, I'm a dick http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfnFuA0wIX8&feature=plcp 3 Minute Rule -
I'd like to address a situation, based on my personal experience with DayZ (which may or may not be connected with most people, so take it with a grain of salt). So people are complaining about something that's no even getting implemented right now (Bans and such), since the ONLY thing Rocket said was that they're gonna start logging the data with the new patch. And many of the complaints are related to real life issues (have to feed my baby, etc etc ad nauseum), and the exhaustingly repetitive "I usually log in to X number of servers to check performance/day/night/crosshair/etc, and I need to do this everyday". So let me tell you, that sounds like a really boring way to get in game, and, it kinda (IMHO) takes away from the experience. You should find servers in which you like to play, and stick to them, for several reasons: 1) Building of a community in server, allows for cool RP'ing. For example, I'm currently trying to assemble a squad to patrol Cherno and Elektro outskirts and kill all noob-snipers there until they give up on the activity. And this is to be done in my main server. 2) I always know how the game will behave. My main server is Veteran, No crosshair, 3rd person ON, no kill messages, and it is -8h on my local time, so I always know it's daytime when I play in my evenings. 3) Vehicles and tents are server-bound. 4) My main server occasionally crashes/not updated/whatever, so I have a small list (3 servers) aside from my main in which I know I can play if needed. So my point being, instead of a desperate chase everyday for "a server", why not check one you like and stick to it? Thus all the "omg I'm getting banned (which you're not, since the update will only log data) for server hopping to get the best experience" seems quite pointless to me. Unless (and I'm pretty sure there are those cases as well), that the complainer is just trying to find a "workaround" to keep using alt+f4/log on/log off for whatever "cheating" purpose they like. HFB Camo / Ghillie suit problem fixed
Hrorek replied to phisher34's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
So I'm assuming that this is why I had to manually start my server back up this morning? I can confirm that vehicles/tents and everything saved. Just make sure you rename your server back to what it was because mine was defaulted. I also noticed that the control panel said both updates were not installed. Should I have not installed them again? -
Well there be that, but there already the capacity for, trenches for example, could be used to force particular routes of entry for vehicles, but ive also seen discussions/threads on trip wires which open up a variety of potential booby traps from IEDs to blunt force trauma, or even alarm systems (imagine if a trap was somehow linked to a noisy object like a rape alarm or egg timer that once ye set the trap ye became attached or entangled in a rope or thread holding the device attracting zeds from all around) i dunno pretty random 24+ awake hours suggestions dribbling out :S I just like the idea of creating a trap mechanic that allows peeps to be creative with setting up traps, it would at least ensure that there were not repetitive processes for disarming them that would allow more experienced users to easily identify the skins and or animations. :( Hmmm i dunno if this game is going the way eve went tbh. IT really depends on where the game direction is really going. Although ive seen a presentation rocket gave about where he said that the actual survival aspect of the game was more important necessarily from the zombies (they were just a apocalyptic scenario) which, if were following that direction solely, it might not make room for ideas like this. But he also seems to be very much interested in the idea of permafixtures, and players almost making their mark on a server and manipulating the environment. I think requires what ive peeps have been discussing related to this thread, but the whole purpose of these activities is survive zeds. I dunno if anything as far money will develop, trade of items and services, sure, but i dont think money will come back into it. I dont think youll see that kind of evolution of gameplay - ingame - in DayZ. Im not too sure though, have ye further thoughts on how this would function if zeds were consistant? And tbh given the server numbers (there should be less) it might conflict with the way average direction in gameplay develops then EVE.

^^^ This is starting to Piss me off. Mate, thousands of people keep posting this. Try searching the forums. SERVER ADMINS DO NOT HAVE THE POWER TO TELEPORT OR SPAWN GEAR VEHICLES. It would have been a hacker/scripter.

The problem i see with this, is that while yes, a lot of these came from duping... I fear even more came from spawning these items in. I have seen multple cases, where a person (same one) is sniping from the roof of electro, he gets killed (his body had an extra ghillie suit+coyote 24pack+AS50+NVG+rangefinder+GPS+DMR) and i am not kidding, less than 7 minutes goes by, he's already in the exactly same spot, with EXACTLY same loadout. And not like he alt+F4'd out of dying and his body was duped, no, he received a .50cal bullet to the head... With people teleporting others/spawning in weapons/vehicles (always nice to see an APC rolling down Electro) there is no point of that reset, just yet.. All reset will accomplish is give you 99,000 pissed people, 40,000 of whom will find all needed for survival in first 30 minutes anyways, and 1,000 pricks who'll spawn that crap in and drive off in a spawned vehicle

Tents still duping/losing items 1.7.1.5
C0LDKILL (DayZ) replied to kicktd's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD FIX THE TENTS!!! I have resorted to using my communities Ural to store my gear because NOTHING saves after a restart. I have used multiple tents and multiple steps to prevent this from happening with no luck. I have to put my gear in my community ural, which is not safe at all. For 1 it is big and blue so the chances of it and my ggear being stolen are pretty good. Also, everything in the vehicles is shared community loot. So my members just take all my shit. Please hurry and fix this, I would like to be able to collect gear.
