It would really suck if there were max 20 vehicles for 800,000 players, don't you think? 4. They don't teleport. They lag. Everything lags sometimes. Deal with it. 5. Another bug. You're awfully good at finding these things. 6. There's no point in slowing down bleeding. Either you bandage yourself or you don't have a bandage and die. The bleed out rate is pretty slow anyways. 7. Finally, a good point. Knives should be able to be unholstered - similar to axes. 8. Also a pretty good point. Fists would be key to knocking out players when you're unarmed. 9. A third good point. You're on a role. Obviously this is a military simulator - they look after their guns so the game engine isn't accounting for jamming. 10. You can swim with a backpack. This bug was fixed a long time ago (at least for me).

  3. What are the TOP ten things that ruin the dayz experience, if you say hackers that's obvious so don't bother. PK (player killers) are also not the problem.... Here is my list: 1. Magical items (bullets/flares/chem lights respawn after disconnecting/reconnecting. 2. Items dissapear magically if backpack is full and you try to place an item inside. 3. Vehicles dissapear when moving between servers 4. Zombies can teleport 5. You can swim through a floor and die 6. You cant apply pressure to slow down bleeding, obviously you cant shoot while applying pressure.(balancing) 7. You can't use a knife to attack another player 8. You can't use your hands to fight 9. Guns NEVER jam.(firing too fast jams guns not dirt!) 10. You can't swim with a backpack.

    Looking For Mature North American Players!

    How do you know they are trying to ambush you? We camp too but does that make us KoS? We camp for item spawns at times. Respawn timer is extremely quick. The point was that if your intention was that the rifle is pointless based on your intention. You shouldn't be sniping unless you can acquire the affiliation of the target. Only way is by walking up to the players and asking, "friendly?". Unless you have someone do that then disregard my last two sentences but if your alone you most likely have murders. If you spot a sniper your going to wait for him to shoot you or one of your teammates? Result is already fatal if your only option is to wait until he kills someone to ascertain his affiliation. All snipers are deadly and if you look at their weapon stats they don't vary. DMR is a fantastic PVP sniper rifle in comparison to a CZ. Wasting sniper rifle ammo on zombies sounds unrealistic. Doubt one would do that. Not like the clips contain 30 rounds like the AK. I don't survive with a sniper rifle. I rarely have it out unless im going to PVP. I'm more scared of a player with a sniper rifle than a AK or Makarov. I had people shoot me and my entire group 30 rounds with AK and miss. It only took one sniper to wipe out the majority of us. Wiki explains that. Players with vehicles are considered extremely dangerous. I just don't deem one driver as dangerous as multiple players in a vehicle. Now a days, most vehicles are taking in most servers. Building a vehicle is rare. You have a better chance walking into a forest and stealing one. Players i've met with vehicles were indeed dangerous carrying massive amounts of ammo, weapons, and even explosives. Don't think it will work out. Need everyone to adhere to my RoE/SOP.

    nah, no point since they are back after the server restart which happened 3 hours later. we jsut stocked up the 3 vehicles, got all of our frineds on ts and gave them waht they wanted, and then went on a log night of adventure :) yes we found that stuff, the mk4 48's are in the truck that we took to whats hopefully a safe spot for at least a few days. we basically took everything from the tents that we wanted and put it in the vehicles. are the items duped on purpose or collected and then just duped cause they were in tents, we will never know for sure, but its all legit in game gear, so its definitely not hackers. I would give you an mk48, but dayz has made me very untrustful. i've had people talk to me for hours, only to shoot me in the back after we meet up, even over basic costal town gear. so now I only roll with people i know. I had everything prior to this, except for the coyote pack, so this was really just a nice night for my friends, and in turn a great night for me as well, because we hung out and had a grand time :)

  8. My friends and I found a huge campsite on server US 150. This server belongs to the clan =DHD= and their campsite had tons of tents and vehicles. The first night, Tuesday July 24th myself and a friend were caught stealing from their tents and sniped. An admin message "Hows it taste to fail?" appeared. To retaliate, I later stole some vehicles. The next night, Wed July 25th at about 920-930 pm I was camped with a .50 cal near their tents. =DND=BanHammer, one of the admins showed up in a truck and got out of it to go to the tents. I sniped and killed him then ran to steal the truck. About 30 seconds later we all got the message "No message from server for xx seconds". He clearly raged and reset the server trying to roll back. The server remained down for several hours. The next day when trying to log on I was banned along with one of my friends. We played fair. US 150 admins from =DHD= do not. Just putting this up to give fair warning to others who enjoy robbing campsites. AVOID US 150 (not US150, there is a space between US and 150!) Crybaby admins will ban you for outplaying them. Also, a side note to clan =DHD=: Enjoy the work of my other friend who you didn't ban. He counted 36 tents destroyed today by running them over with a tractor that I stole from you.
  9. we drove around for 3 hours, an 8 man ghillie crew, on a night time server with 25 poeple at the time. bandit fights, huge zombie fights, lots of looting and car repairing. messing with costal spawn nubs, and finally finding a place where to park the vehicles. lets hope the hackers don't insta find our stuff, so we can drive around like bosses for at least another night :) even if they do find it, it was an epic night :)
  10. First off, I don't intend for this to be a thread to argue over what should be done about the new Arma 2 update that is affecting DayZ. I just want to how you my perspective, obviously. The change to the Enfield seems somewhat off, but maybe it is for the better. I do not use the gun that often, but if i find tons of ammo for it, then yea i might give it a go for the hell of it. Killing players with 1 bullet makes sense to me, since it is firing a .303 round, which isn't a small round. I understand that realism isn't always sought after, but this mod does base off of the mil sim. The best thing about the Lee was that you can find it nearly anywhere! Most people drop them, so you find em at markets, fire stations, military tents, etc. and with plenty ammo. Also, being the the anti-sniper weapon available at the start of the game, makes it ideal for unarmed characters. For the Enfield, I don't know what the plan on doing, whether buffing it back up or keeping it the same. It doesn't affect my gameplay style in the slightest. The pistols seem to cause the most commotion from the community. For these, I really don't stand on either side for they are just secondaries. They all fit their individual roles, and do them well. Sniping? Hopefully you find an M9 SD if you want to be quieter, especially if you attract zombies. Clip size? Give the G17 or normal M9 a go, again, if you can find them. Having trouble finding ammo? Maybe try the Makarov since the ammo is literally, EVERYWHERE. It may not be a PVP weapon, but if you have good aim on zombies, then it's not bad at all. The .45's seem to be the biggest concern. Personally, i would like to see them be 2 hit kills on zombies and 1-2 on humans as well. Headshots are still OHK, of course. The reason I think it should 2HK zeds is because they are undead! Sure, they are weaker than survivors, but the reason why they are lethal to people is because the hit those vital body parts that zombies don't need! All kinds of zombies in movies and other games walk around with no arms or legs, and none of their organs have a meaning, so to me, 2 shots seems appropriate. Again, just how i think of it. I also see people post things like, "Too many weapons with the same damage, not much variety." Well, to me, if they shoot the same caliber, then they very well should do the same damage. Sure, IRL one gun might have faster velocity, but i don't think the Arma engine has all those specifics. And if the engine does, please tell me because I'm not saying I know the engine in and out. I have no clue haha. But the 9mm's should do the same damage. Maybe the SMG's should do like 300-600 more damage because they are stronger guns, but again, they fire the same round. For the shotguns, pellets and slugs should have different damage values. Pellets should be pretty deadly within their range, And slugs should be above rifles for damage, but slightly IMO. I do not use these guns much either, so I don't have as much to say. Going by my thought of the bullet being shot, I know slugs aren't the smallest rounds, or the biggest. As long as they keep them usable, it's fine by me. Ak's being nerfed doesn't seem too bad. The only reason i see for this is being able to find them quiet easily, unlike the M4's and M16's. It gives full a reason now if you are close enough. I don't see this affecting gameplay that much, because chances are you will kill the other player if you see them first. And for the other rifles not being nerfed, i don't see why the sniper rifles should receive one. They all shoot at least a 7.62x51 if I remember correctly. To the leg you should survive, but a body shot would be hard to recover from. And the .50's should not even matter. I mean, c'mon! It's a gun designed to shoot through vehicles. Anywhere on the body should be a kill, because you would most likely die from blood loss anyway. I do not see any of those guns getting a nerf ever. Please let me know if I am wrong about anything i posted. And again, not trying to start arguments, this i just the way i think about the nerfs. Sorry if I had grammatical errors, or used too many commas because i usually do lol. If I missed anything let me know!

Location: Closed Server: Closed How to attend our facility Locate our base by using the main road use caution as bandits can be waiting to ambush. Once you have arrived please contact a guard to inform them of your situation. Based on the severity of the situation you will be asked to wait at guard post or let through. Once you arrive at Base PLEASE WAIT AT THE GATE FOR STAFF TO CONTACT YOU. If you are not contacted by our staff and enter the gate you run the risk of being marked as an attacker and will be swiftly dealt with. Once you have been seen by one of our staff. Please use the road to exit the facility immediately, DO NOT RUN INTO THE WOODS and DO NOT LOITER. We cannot see the next patient until we know you have left. It is possible at a later time that a vehicle will available to pick you up and bring you to our facility. Such notice will be given on the forums as to the make or model of said vehicle.     UK 1 Server, private hive / abuse

    I think MKDeus was basically saying that there's a lot of people on here that scream admin abuse and such when it turns out they were trying to do very bad things and got banned for it. In this case..if nxye was trying to play with a hacked pbo (DayZ_Anim.pbo handles ALLLL bans on items: vehicles, weapons, ammo, magazines, etc. So if he had that hacked, chances were to use something in it that wouldnt be allowed). and got banned for it.....then he needs to stfu about it and go DIAF, dirty hacker. As for the Private Hive crowd.... Pretty much that. We want control of our own damn servers. Most would rather be on a server where the admins actually have a measure of control versus the total lack of it on public servers. Not having to triple check, get video, etc of a hacker before you can ban him because you dont want to get blacklisted is just stupid. Being able to play the game as you want is also a bonus. Not having to worry about hackers (if your private hive is..private vs a public-private hive such as UK 1). @Lukey: Ironic how so many people have 'problems' with the pbo in charge of banning crap from the game. Hrmm. Right. And dont ever fucking speak for me again ya lil wank. I rather like MKDeus being willing to sign up and speak out and I dont want to see him leave, so don't include me in your 'do us all a favor" crap k?

The clan I'm in I've played with them, they are a group of 10 people or something, with everyone their own role. Have multiple vehicles, own TS and DayZ server.     This the only thing I'll post, because its a pointless to try to argue. Aelus left the game and clan and gave it to me. I built it into what it is today with a server, website, and teamspeak. I've ran it for over a month now and everyone is having fun. Aelus clan was the same as ours a bandit clan that shoot first. 90% of the operations Elysium did I ran and were after Aelus left. --------- Operation Pusto Cache After Action report: Operation Pusto Cache After Action Report: Pusto Cache 1. Overview a. Leader: Commander Todwarter, Operatives: Androctons, STGSLAY Jr. Operatives: Computer(Cory), Taco b. A congratulations and thank you goes to Junior Operative Cory a.k.a. computer. Junior operative Cory discover the campsite on routine patrol northwest of the Northwest airfield. He alerted his commanding officer , Cmdr.Todwarter to the camp. Cmdr.Todwarter formed a assault team of five Elysium squad members. The squad then track 5000 m North West towards position of the enemy cachet of tens and vehicles. Upon arriving there was 10 tents and seven vehicles. Dear ranging from Fal 308 battle rifles, DMR’s, MP5 suppressed, in 16 different variants and much more. To summon up the camp was a hotspot for gear. To hostile's Crow and Germany were seen in the area. Operative SGTSLAY fired upon them, causing them to run west of the campsite. Cmdr.Todwarter track their movements upon the enemies going undercover he fired at them with a DMR sniper rifle. Hit Crow on his first shot both hostile was disconnected, proving that they were disconnect warriors even though is banable offense. Germany reconnected after server hopping to gain a better position then managed to kill Junior operative Cory as he was feeling a V3S truck. Operative Andro fired upon Germany with a 240 machine gun killing the hostile cheating player. 2. Goals and Objectives To kill any hostile's at the cachet of tens and vehicles. To destroy all vehicles and tents after gear was collected. 3. Analysis and Outcome Besides the death of Junior operative Cory the mission was a success. We managed to destroy a well-established campsite and gear up for later operations. We killed two well armed bandits/survivors and the process. A defeat made even sweeter because of their regard for Rockets rules about disconnecting. The server is to last well armed new players. As a result of our operation. 4. Summary After all the loot was gathered and supplies loaded up in the truck. We then blew up the vehicles with frag grenades and DMR rounds and ran over all the tents destroying the campsite completely. As the procession was going back to our base Crow log back in and died immediately of his wounds received from Cmdr.Todwarter DMR bullet to the chest. 5. Recommendations ---------- OPERATION Electric Eleckro After action report: Electric Elektro 1. Overview Commander Todwarter, Junior Operatives Hachetboy, Sgtslay, Thorn, and venial disease ops I mean Infamous22 started a combat mission attacking electro. Com Tod and Junior Operative SgtSlay acquired a motorized dirt bike and with the dirtbike and ATV headed towards Elektro. Outside of oatmeal they headed up the mountain and flanked Elektro from the right West Hill not the common sniper hill but the one beyond the second fire station and across the field. Upon arriving Com Tod was shot in the head from despawner in the second fire station second-floor window. Junior operatives Sgtslay with his AS 50 sniper rifle took a shot at the cheater. The cheater logged and was never seen again. Com Tod retrieved his body and went in to scout the second firehouse. Seeing the firehouse is clear Com Tod & JrOp SgtSlay headed towards the supermarket and then the first fire station. Upon arriving at the first fire station Com Tod shot SHARRRR north of the fire station by the grey wooden house. 5 min. later from the grey wooden house hostile player Pickles shoot with ak47 Com Tod as he was climbing down the first floor latter. JrOp SgtSlay heroically with Makarov in hand provided covering fire as wounded teammates with broken leg and blood loss retreated behind the firehouse going into the rear door. JrOp SgtSlay then with his AS 50 Cal sniper rifle shot hostile player Pickles in the chest. JrOp SgtSlay then climbing off of the first fire station went and searched Pickles corpse finding medical supplies and ak 47 rifle, he then hid the body and return to Com Tod to give aid. That was the start of Operation Electric Elektro. From there it was a counter opposition of hostile player pickle and his friend bandit who later change his name into bandit hunter. The systematic hunting down and destroying these pathetic survivor/bandit wannabes went on for over an hour before they called and more reinforcements. It was our luck to have Junior Operatives Hachetboy, Thorn log in to assist in our growing operation in EleKtro. Junior Operatives Thorn was providing cover fire with a deal he suits and Lee Enfield 303 battle rifle from the North East sniper hill. He systematically acquired no less than 15 kills upon enemy targets. 2. Goals and objectives: a. To wreak havoc upon Elektro b. To encounter hostile targets and make them fear the bandit tag Elysium c. To gather supplies to take back to our forward operating base. 3. Analysis of outcome: Elysium Department of Defense received no less than 30+ any kills in EleKtro. We managed to kill one legitimate bandit well geared and six wannabe bandit/pathetic survivors. We obtain supplies and equipment for our forward operating base. Group morale was heightened because of this operation and all parties had an exciting time. All operatives and Junior operatives obeyed direct orders from there, commander, and showed excellent behavior in the light of chaos. 4. Summary: A great mission, one of the highlights was five enemy hostile's coming up on Junior operatives thorn. JrOp Thorn took out 4 and then was wounded, Com Tod and JrOp Hatchboy killed the last wannabe Ducan Enemy combatants: Pickles Bandit Killer Evanthereaper Duncanthereaper Myoda -------- Operation Eastern Seaboard After action report: Operation Eastern Seaboard 1. Overview Squad Leader Todwarter with Operatives Andro, Sully and Junior Operatives Kohv, Hatchetboy and Thor set up 360° security Cherno. The squad camped successfully killed over 15-20+ kills in city limits and a two-hour period of time. SL Tod and Op Andro and J’Op Kohv then found and repaired a red vehicle. Once the vehicle was repaired and fueled up the three headed east. Before the city limits of Electro we encountered a survivor Uncle Taxi upon getting out of the vehicle SL and J’Op distracted the zombie train following Uncle Taxi as Op Andro took the shoot with his Lee Enfield rifle, survivor had ammunition and vehicle repair parts. Following the road east to cities out of electro we came across another survivor when we're stopping for gas. As J’Op Kohv was filling the Jerry cans SL Tod saw a survivor spawn Nexx, one shots center mass with Lee Enfield rifle 303 killed the poor bastard. We received no more resistance until we proceeded North East and ditch the vehicle at our new base camp, which will not be disclosed on the forums. From there we headed and searched the woods for hostile enemy camps. We came across the Northwest airfield where we gathered supplies and meant hostile resistance. Survivor/bandit Apocalypse with a Mk machine gun shot Operative Andro as he came out of the left hangar from the West. O’P Kohv, joined SL Tod inside the left hanger, but was shot as he tried to sniped bandit Apocalypse. Bandit Apocalypse in a peachy little Australian voice Squad Leader Todwarter “ I've killed two of your Mate and will kill you to. Drop your weapons and, if you want the live” SL Tod told the Aussy “ for him to drop his weapons and that we he wasting his time” the Australian from then became cocky and 30 to 40 min. camping feast came in the play. Squad leader Tod snuck out of the left hanger and proceeded to flank survivor/bandit Apocalypse. Once behind Apocalypse SL Tod took two shots, one hitting in front and behind the target. The target then proceeded to crouch and look around not aware that SL Tod had flanked him. SL Tod stood up and put two shots in Apocalypse with his Lee Enfield 303 1 for each of his fallen comrades. 2. Goals and objectives A. To kill survivors within the city limits of Cherno. B. To find and repair a working vehicle. C. to search the Northeast map for enemy camps and players. D. to set up a base camp close to hostile survivors and bandits. 3. Analysis of outcomes Base camp created with vehicle and motorboats obtained. 4. Analysis of the performance shown on critical tasks Overall, the squad performed quite well. One outstanding moment was on the Chenro tower where three of the Ol’ Clan server owners rushed SL Tod and J’Op Kohv with hatchets. J’Op Kohv shot two with his Fal 308 battle rifle and SL Tod one with his m16 a2 assault rifle. After going extensive training Hatchetboy and Sully managed to fall off two of their post twice. Op Andro is one the best vehicle drivers I’ve ever seen! 5. Summary A great little mission for our growing infamous Bandit Squad! 6. Recommendation J’Op Kohv for his preformace promoted ot the rank of Operative. Over the last two nights he has shown countless hours of dedication and skill! A true team play and a bandit to the soul! ----- Operation - Northern Forward Base Primary objectives: 1. Establish a forward base of operations 2. Acquire means of transportation Secondary objectives: 1. Eliminate all resistance 2. Acquire medical supplies 3. Acquire military supplies Participants: 1. Junior Operative Xerpt 2. Junior Operative Ziegel 3. Senior Operative Vlad I decided its about time we gained ourselves a forward base of operations in order to minimize organizational and supply problems. Due to my location on the globe and time region i found myself rather lonely at the time of the operation's start. My initial plan was to head to the NW Airfield from Stariy Sobor in hopes of camping out with a DMR until someone brought a vehicle for me to hijack. As i proceeded up north Junior Operative Ziegel informed me that there are two vehicles readily available to him - a UAZ and a Ural, located NW of the NW airfield. At the time he was on a different server so i proceeded to switch and continued up North. Due to the time difference between our locations in the real world Ziegel had to retire for the night and was kind enough to transport the UAZ for me to the southern barracks at the NW airfield. He also stashed a ghille suit in the back of the said UAZ, which greatly increased my survival chances. After i completed acquisition of the UAZ it was time to gain additional man power. Junior Operative Xerpt was located at Chernogorsk and, despite my utter hatred towards that town, under cover of darkness i bolted south in order to pick him up. Having picked up JO Xerpt we proceeded up north to loot Stariy Sobor's military tents and supermarket in order to outfit Xerpt and find rolled-up tents, weapons, ammo, and other miscellaneous supplies. The town was clear of enemy presence and apart from several aggroed Z's there were no troubles. Our approach vector helped us scout out the town before heading into it and snappy cooperation minimized our presence at the military tents. With weapons and ammo loaded up on the UAZ it was time to gain medical supplies and spare car parts. We visited Berezino's hospital and the coastal eastern factory for their invaluable respective loot and, having loaded everything into the 4x4, proceeded back NW to find a spot for our new forward base. There were several hiccups on the way, courtesy of my amazing driving skills and buggy road blocks, but we managed to set up two camping tents and preserve the vehicle in good working condition. We now have a forward operations base. Grid coordinates and server name can be obtained from Tod, Xerpt, and myself. Re-supply missions are on-going. Base is conveniently situated relatively close to NW Airfield and Stariy Sobor while being completely away from general traffic routes. --- Just a few examples, Yes we did run a few with aelus over 2 months ago, but he quite playing slowly then quite another and we've ran a operation almost daily over the last month. It come down to what the clan wants, the members of the clan who've been there for months want to keep the name. I have raided a few camps and committed many murders in the last week. Explored the whole map multiple times, have most of my routes memorized already. I'm awesome at driving any of the land vehicles, have trouble landing choppers however. I know were all the hot spots for great PvP opportunities are located, and good vantage points to said hot spots. I have an amazing sense of direction in this game and rarely cant point out my exact location on the map. Also, I have come to realize I am a very good sniper, and with a range finder... I won't miss. Nice little story from my time playing so far. ( Favorite kill so far was yesterday outside Elektro to the north east, I was about 350 meters out looking over the fire station and seen a squad of four survivors. They made there way to the top story and were taking forever to leave. I zero in to 400m with my AS50, aim a little low and take a shot at a survivor standing in the window. It hits and he goes down instantly... The other three survivors panic and start shooting each other thinking a member of there own group turned on them, killing the player I had shot. LOLOLOL. I proceeded to just sit and laugh while they cussed and yelled at each other over public chat... This game is AMAZING )

  19. Very little in the alpha I'm afraid. Vehicles have likewise proven to be a great enemy of mine. I'd say keep it on your person. If you're too afraid to lose it then you shouldn't have it in the first place, since you'll never use it. I've learned that the hard way time and time again. I've managed to cling to my silenced assault rifle for ages, probably because I never trust it to storage and I always carry it around and use it.
  20. Harder difficulties don't change the weapon spawn chance. You can turn on/off vehicle spawn i believe, at least you could in the past. When you start the server some vehicles spawn in pre-defined locations. When you destroy one pf these vehicles they will respawn a few days later after a server restart. I also think that if no one finds a vehicle after ~7 days, they will spawn somewhere else. Not sure of this tho.

    Yes, hacks do show on the map where vehicles and tents are, the hacker can also teleport to them... This is rather sad because as you said there is now no point in having a base....
  22. I would like to say that i had a great time on this server so far. I even managed to set up my first good base with some tents and a couple vehicles over the course of about two weeks. But I noticed that i seem to be banned from the server saying it was a script injection or something. Is there a reason for this? Thanks again.
  23. all this vehicles stood by your camp. except the tractor, and v3. we didnt had this two, dont know where you saw them. I dont want to know, what you do, when you use all the available hacks. i dont want any hacks. and i dont acuse out of reason, i made my statements clear. the most used hacks are spawning hacks, and we saw more than 10 tents, and some of them contained more than 15 other ones. dont know how you got this many in this short time as well... and the "bug". dont know, if thats an actual bug or not. doesnt matter the case. and where was the abuse you are talking about??? the server was switched off, and got switched on two days later. then, normal gameplay happened. nothing to complain about. just your stuff, that you lost, which you could get back, if you have been "fast" enough - as i sayed, we were at your camp around 24 hours after restart the last time, and a lot of stuff was still there. so get over it.

Hello! =) Me and my Friend got finally an own Day-Z Server :) Now we have 1-2 Questions; first thing is about vehicles, are we able to turn them on/off for spawning? and how much % are the spawn chances for one? The next question is about the weapons, Does it take any effect to the drop chance if u play on several difficultys? thats all.. =) would be cool if i get a answer to that thaaanks cyaa
  25. Its me, Disgraced. They thought dressing me up in this "1.7.2.4 Patch" costume would humiliate me into not posting... But being a patch hanging out on some lady's stomach has its benefits. Anyway.. I've been tooling around the northern ends of the map in my Scooby Van (aka S1203) for a couple of days now. I tend to drive through field and forest and only hit the roads when I want some speed. So can any vehicles go "off road"? I notice that the van slows on certain terrain and climbs hills and mountains (even with "E" pressed), like a 90 year old lung cancer victim. Do other vehicles climb better? Can they go faster off road? I really want one of those Toyota pickups, but if the van is just as good, then any bother?
