Do you realize how hypocritical it is to not support modding? 2)The suggestions made had NOTHING to do with modding. They were suggestions for changes/improvements to the game based on my experience looking under the hood. So SORRY that you don't want people actually making REAL suggestions. Maybe I should have whined about how unbalanced PVP is or some such similar bs. Good god, get moderators that actually read a post before moderating it. Oh and hey rocket, I will call bullshit. First off, gonna say this, that video posted is bullshit..sort of. It is not the server as it is current. That was back in 1.7.1.5, before Rocket put in his over the top banning codes (whiiiichh a workaround is currently being made for thankfully). You do realize that UK1 runs battleeye and some other custom cheat protection right? its actually one of the most protected servers out there. Funny huh? Private hive server being the most protective...oh right cause admins are free to ADMINISTRATE and not constrained by some superfluous rules. Yeh and many of us arent. I don't even touch public hive servers anymore. I feel completely unprotected from hackers and cheaters there, its like I am a little white girl walking in the ghetto with a "Free Rape" sign on me; no thanks. Ahaha. You do realize that most private servers play legit right? Currently working on unborking Rocket's shoddy loot drop code myself. Most admins of private hives do spawn stuff for testing or just to blow off steam. Heck, spawned a SUV today to ride around in all pimp style, thennn used it as a target for frag grenades, was fun and I benefited nothing by it. hrm imagine that. Private hive servers are the best place to test out improvements to the game. Another benefit of a private hive..oh god..COMMUNITY. They actually have one instead of the bullshit on public servers where no one knows eachother. Just saying.

Actually if you payed attention youd notice something. On the messhall forums there's a user named MKDeus right? Whats the name of one of the server admins for that server? Dazbobaby. Whats the name of that youtube channel? Dazbobabymesshall. Oh wait does that mean the youtube is from one of the admins and that MKDeus, while a member of that server, isn't the holder of the youtube channel? oh it does doesn't it. There you go jumping to failed conclusions again! Gratz! And my point was that dayz_anim.pbo seems to 'malfunction' a lot compared to any of the other pbos. I just find it strange that it happens to be the one with the item banning information in it. Argue that point please, tell me how its not a funny coincidence and there's some evil master plan. Oh and wait, why even argue, its a private hive server, you're banned, bye bye. No one can say anything, its actually a server where the admins are in charge as it should be. So what if they spawned in some structures to make a cool base? Base building is one of the few things 'end game' about dayz hence why even rocket is planning to add it. Hrm.

I think MKDeus was basically saying that there's a lot of people on here that scream admin abuse and such when it turns out they were trying to do very bad things and got banned for it. In this case..if nxye was trying to play with a hacked pbo (DayZ_Anim.pbo handles ALLLL bans on items: vehicles, weapons, ammo, magazines, etc. So if he had that hacked, chances were to use something in it that wouldnt be allowed). and got banned for it.....then he needs to stfu about it and go DIAF, dirty hacker. As for the Private Hive crowd.... Pretty much that. We want control of our own damn servers. Most would rather be on a server where the admins actually have a measure of control versus the total lack of it on public servers. Not having to triple check, get video, etc of a hacker before you can ban him because you dont want to get blacklisted is just stupid. Being able to play the game as you want is also a bonus. Not having to worry about hackers (if your private hive is..private vs a public-private hive such as UK 1). @Lukey: Ironic how so many people have 'problems' with the pbo in charge of banning crap from the game. Hrmm. Right. And dont ever fucking speak for me again ya lil wank. I rather like MKDeus being willing to sign up and speak out and I dont want to see him leave, so don't include me in your 'do us all a favor" crap k?

Its a private hive server, you can't do much about it and your complaints of admin abuse accomplish nothing. All of those who run private hive servers do so for many reasons: to have control of their own damn server (something not possible otherwise), be able to have fun with a game (games are meant to be fun, regardless of the phase they are in), and some other assorted reasons.

Not gonna read 85 pages. Read the first two, didnt see anyone mentioning this. Respawn disabled...really? So now when im out in bumfuck with no food, no water, and a pistol and just totally lost I am basically stuck waiting to slowly die? THANKS! -.- Respawn was also the suicide button when you just wanted to start over. I assume you took it out to stop folks from what...respawning multiple times after dieing to try to get closer to where they died because there is some stupid mechanism that makes the gear degrade over a short period of time despite how fucking unrealistic that is? Yeh ok. Chaulk this up to reason 1 ill be staying at version 1.7.2.3. Singleplayer mode disabled. Right. That's like the gov saying murders are disabled. Trying to disable and disuade private servers was the biggest mistake you ever made Rocket. Its the only way to get away from all the annoying hackers out there who seek to ruin the game cause DayZ is a mod built on a game where spawning stuff for yourself is a core part and thus disabling it fully is just not possible. As for the Alt-F4 thing. Spawn in at coast with everything, hey this isn't where I logged out at! Oh another bug? Let me just Alt-F4 and go back in to fix it. Oh wait..now its gonna make me out to be a baddy. -.-

Eh one issue with this otherwise great idea is this... Say me and my buddy just go into a hospital. I am at 10001 and he is at 10002 HP. There's at least 10 blood bags on the floor cause..its a hospital. Why not let me waste one then since I can easily replace it? Ill wait to see your answer to this, but yeh, great idea.

DayzDB.com Dayzwiki.com READ^ Seriously, i read about 6 hours worth before playing. The map on DayZDB will help you find what you need as different stuff spawns in different types of structures (Military, Residential, Farm, Industrial) The Wiki will give you a LOT of help on basic info. Couple Bits of Advice for you.. 1)When you LOG IN to a server (IE: once you can see the world) look at your BOTTOM RIGHT corner of the screen. 3 lines of text will pop up. The critical one here is the 2nd line. It will say the city or other major thing you are close to. Using this, and the DayZDB map you can find out where the hell you are and hope to get somewhere. 2)You can click ESC and Respawn to die and respawn (You have to back out to the big display and hit OK to go back in though) to try to get a new spawn point. Id recommend trying till you get 'airstrip', that will put you near Balota and the airfield. Just run it like a champ to the Air Traffic Control Tower on the airstrip. Zombies walk in buildings so any you got following you will get slowed down. Hopefully you get a gun in there. There's a ladder on the top thatll get you back to ground and around the zombies. Check the two hangers also, then go for the 4 stands to the SE of the airstrip across the road. Clear the zombies around em, usually good loot. This will probably get you at least A weapon, maybe some food and drink, and IF you are lucky..a MAP. 3)Watch tutorial videos on the MECHANICS of the game. Arma2 is a Mil Sim, its highly realistic (compared to COD/BF/ETC) so some of the mechanics are..difficult. 4)When you spawn..you have 1 Painkiller, 1 Bandage, 1 Flashlight. Use that bandage to stop from bleeding out and then find more. Id suggest holding 2 on you at least. 5)Guns you want for starting out: Id suggest IF you can find it..the Remington 870 with pellets. Good spread for easy shots plus a flashlight. Point is...Gun with attached light = godly starting out. (Also, ignore the whole 'have fun...die..etc'. Been playing for close to a month. Died a total of 4 times, 1 due to getting shot in the butt with an Enfield by my friend who thought itd be funny and didnt realize the damage of that gun..)

Why thank you DryGulch for your totally useless posting of a bad, overused, and overall retarded meme picture instead of actually adding anything constructive to the discussion. As the community of DayZ grows there will be new blood coming in with new ideas, desires, etc and they cannot be discounted by the 'vets' of the community as some new rifraf in off the streets. Ive actually pretty much stopped playing on public servers lately in large part to this. Yes yes, zombie apoc is supposed to be all gloom and doom and loneliness but ffs this is a game. There is very little point to the multiplayer if we can't talk to people; human beings desire such communication at a very base level. And considering DayZ now has some competition in the future, if that other game brings in world/global/whatever chat then it would prove foolish of DayZ not to have it as it would be a major feature lacking. "Oh...I cant find folks to play with cause I can't actually talk to anyone in the game unless they are within 50m of me and then there's a good likelihood that they will just kill me instead...great..Im so sold on this awesome non-feature"

Gonna bump this a bit. But yeh...if distance traveled is a variable (as it should be) but without a counter-variable of mode of said travel...then there's a big problem.

So today me and two friends wanted to test something and the results just seem..unnatural. Food consumption in a Dayz is a weird beast. Here's the setup. Me and 2 friends wanted to test rate of food consumption (time between eating). First we all ate at the same time to make our food all green at the same time. Then I sat in a vehicle (to ensure that temp had no effect) in our camp. My first friend then got into one of our motorcycles and drove away from camp. The destination was not specific, just the direction being AWAY (no turns, nothing, just straight away from camp). My second friend did the same but on foot running. Our camp is up north, both went straight south regardless of terrain. The results indicate that a few things happen here. 1)It took me, sitting still in a vehicle, a little over an hour to go from Green to Red (not flashy though). 2)It took my friend on the bike about 15 minutes to go 6KM south at which point he went red. 3)It took my other friend about 45 minutes ish to go about 6KM on foot at which point he went red. So these results basically show that there is an overall base TIME between eating which is decreased by distance traveled. This makes sense when it comes to running as you are physically exerting yourself but the sense stops when it comes to my friend on the bike. He traveled the same distance, in much less time, with almost no exertion as he was on a bike yet he had the same 'food state' as the person on foot. The concern here is when they put back in helicopters which can travel great distances. Will I get to a red food state when i travel that 6KM in a helo, which wont take that long at all? If so, that doesn't make sense at all. Id love to look at the coding determining food consumption rates. In the meantime, they seem to be borked and needed an overhaul before faster modes of transport are put in like the helicopters.

My brain....wants to strangle you right now magnum...the fuck you just put in my brain will not be forgotten.. A)The tent glitch is annoying, known, and a problem. Found a tent lastnight that had some gear in it..took it..squashed it..it came back today. B)You really have no proof of wrongdoing other than that they have been hit by the glitch which is outside of their control. C)Based on clarity of commentary...I am going to believe those that sound intelligent enough to not light themselves on fire vs someone whose spelling, grammar, and sentence structure makes me want to punch babies. Devs should look into the server but just on protocol, sounds like magnum is simply talking about a known tent respawn bug. Ugh, drop it. FYI: I dont know who CGU is, dont know what server you speak of, etc. I play on old North Carolina 2, it has some funky US 7xx number now that i cant remember for the life of me.

Interesting concept, sounds fun to try. While I get your use of the MP5A5, i still would take an M16A4 ACOG instead. STANAG's are plentiful and the more power/range. I do like the idea of all your ammo being in your 'secondary' inventory though.
