Server with no vehicles respawning?
Sna.ke replied to atchley's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Shutdown and bring your server back up. Vehicles have a respawn timer, and don't all respawn at once when the server starts up. -
The vehicles and coma are not showing up anywhere on my server. And havent seen a vehicle other than ATV in a long time. is there a way to role a server back to the start?
-
So ive found 3 vehicles today that looked trashed, no wheels, all bullet holed up or rusted. I have went up to them and inspected them and i can save them. As soon as i save them they respawn like brand new. But i can no get in them or get gear from them. I found a URAL in the same condition with 5-6 medium ammo crates all around it. Green ammo crates and when i hit save vehicle it spawned brand new. Anyone know what to think about this?

Well the server was down. Idk if the cars are gone yet. I meant losing the server/losing the cars would suck. We usually park the vehicles at night and get them the next day. Not really hoarding, we use each vehicle everyday.

I'm looking for some people to join up with that are fairly skilled and know how to handle themselves. In the future I would like to have a base camp, some vehicles and supplies. I would also like to conduct highly tactical raids on towns and maybe even player camps. If you are interested reply to this post or message my on steam. A name were considering is Tactical Team (TT) ID: JoeDaBro

Helicopter crash sites can be found in various locations throughout Chernarus and are most commonly found on open fields or on hillsides. The locations of the crash sites vary for each server. As for vehicles I'm not to sure. If someone gets the vehicle first from the original spot and saves it, it wont spawn back. (I'm not sure though) Don't know what map you're using but this ones very good! http://dayzdb.com/map#4.061.115

Vehicles are all luck. Helis crash at Stary and Novy all the time.
-
so it's come to a point where I know how to play the game pretty well and need some advice what is the best method to finding a vehicle and crashed helicopter sites? I have the map but the vehicles are never there.
-
The server gets refreshed. The vehicles that were saved will stay. The ones that weren't will go away. Tents will stay if saved. They go away if not saved or empty. Loot goes away. Zombies go away. Blah laabllaetbltbtrjpekvldf[

So what happens exactly when a server restarts? Do vehicles respawn in their original places aside from the ones saved by players? Does the matrix update to stand the huge ammount of bandits? Does Rocket stab a bean can just for fun? What the hell happens?

Vehicles are controlled by the hive and are unrelated to your server itself.

Server-side Hotfix 0.7.2, Helicopter status and server info
suspense replied to Vipeax's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Hi Vipeax, tents and vehicles seems to save good now. However, we still have about 2-3 camps on our server that is completely duped, full of gear that we can never get rid of. We blow it up time and time again, but it all just reappears after a reboot. Is there a way to fix this? Or would it require a full db wipe of the tents? Right now, people just run there whenever they die, grab themselfs all the gear they can carry, and then leaves. -
We saved two vehicles and a tent last night. After a good night's sleep, we logged in this morning to find that all of our hard work was left intact. Everything has saved properly thus far... ;)

Server-side Hotfix 0.7.2, Helicopter status and server info
slyder73 replied to Vipeax's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Are the heli's on yet? Last night there were many servers locked after the update. Both my regular servers were locked with only 3 and 5 respectively in them, all clan members. I'm assuming they were doing the rounds and gathering the vehicles before opening the server up to the rest of us peons. Glad to hear at least one clan won't be parking them off the map, though that isn't as much of a problem as clan/admins locking servers until they gather all the vehicles. EDIT: Actually I just checked, the servers are still locked. Any bets once the helis appear and are taken by the admins they lock will come down? -
Not sure about that, unless it was changed in a recent update. Every time I've had a vehicle I've driven right up to barns, ran in and ran out. My advice? Save often. Carry as many jerry cans as you possible can. Make sure that you keep ALL valuables on person and keep the crap stocked up in the vehicle. Also, make sure you have inventory space in the plenty, so that when you run to grab something, you can be in and out as fast as possible. Obvious one, don't hit high population zones. If you need decent medical supplies and such, drive to a forest, get inside the trees and go to the supermarkets on foot. Try to hit the towns like zelenorsk that's further north from the coast and further inland (west). Make sure it's a good distance from the towns and not on any specific path that someone could walk through. When you hit a hospital make sure you rearm the box (if the option isn't there then clear all the junk away from the box, at least that's how I personally do it, it's worked every time but I've never seen another post on the subject, but I spent ages looking for the rearm and noticed every box had crap around them, so I cleared it then rearmed and it worked). Also, make sure you have as much space as possible and take the 10 morphine and 10 pain killers. I like to keep 3 of each on me, the rest you can store in the truck. Maybe 2 pain killers 3 morphine. Also, bandages, they are important. Once you've got those supplies sorted, then it's time for food, since taking blood bags would be dumb (why risk someone helping you?) clear your inventory and go look for some animals. Get as much meat as humanly possible, go to the truck, make a fire, light it, cook the meat and drive off ASAP. I had the ATV once and I found that great for quick runs. Make sure that if you're going to check a barn and you don't want to stash your ATV/car whatever, turn the engine off (move to side seat then back since you can't start it right away) and just look around for a bit. Especially if you have the army truck, that's a big painted neon sign. It's LOUD and it leaves a trail of dust for miles, so you need to be patient. Watch out for walls! I let my idiot friend drive my truck when I had it for so long and went through so much with it, and I went to fill up some water and some people drove up in a hippy-mobile and started shooting at him. I ran back from the lake and shot at them and noticed there were quite a few and they had snipers, I told him to drive off and I ran with them shooting. After some running he picked me up, but was bleeding, he drove it over a wall and got it stuck. I got in and tried to reverse it but it was t aking ages (4 of the 8 wheels over the front of the wall, 4 behind it) and as I was doing so, I saw his head explode, and I jumped out (couldn't drive off) and someone was shooting at me and I couldn't pin point the location and I died. So moral of the story? Don't drive while bleeding. Lucky for me, the server went down about 20 seconds after I got shot so no one got the truck in the end and then there was a patch which reset everything. Personally, I hate vehicles, they are too much pressure to keep. their never safe, they are an attraction, people will chase you, shoot at you, want your stuff and go out of their way to make sure they get it. No where is safe to stash it, so make sure when you log off you have everything decent in your bags. I'd also suggest putting as many weapons as possible in there, just crappy ones like the WC or LE along with whatever ammo you find. That way, if you die and the truck is safe, you can go pick it up.

hey people i just wanted to verify what i and my fellow survivors have been experiencing. well now it is clear that tents are bugged and will swallow everything u put into em. my question is how is this about vehicles? saving 3 mins before server restart apparently does not prevent items from deisappearing on restart furthermore we cant tell if anything new is stored at all since patch since the items tend to glitch back to the original vehicle when we shift em between multiple cars. didnt fing a topic bout this...so what is going on? we are all kinda loaded and would love to stash some stuff without having it disappear on server restart or even sooner. Date/Time: sat 28.07.12 What happened: items disappearing in items, shifting back to original location over restart Where you were: doesnt appear to be location specified What you were doing: saving items, waiting 3 mins, restarting server *Current installed version: 1.7.2.4 *Server(s) you were on: de 633 *Your system specs: not system related *Timeline of events before/after error: saving, restarting, noticing AWESOME weapons missing...meh thx for responses in advance

Hello everyone! :) I started playing DayZ today, and, to be honest, it is already pretty awesome ( some bugs keep annoying me, but that's not the point of this post ). While getting my first weapons , I got an idea... I didn't think about it too much yet, but all the people I asked liked this idea.. What about making another DayZ gamemode, in which you basically are a normal group of soldiers and need to haunt and kill all the infected? ( Something like a "story" ).. A nuclear powerplant ( or something chemical ) explodes and turns all the people in this area into zombies ( Oh Really? :D ) You, a special team of soldiers, get sent to this area to kill all the infected and stop the mutation's spread... But unluckily the mutants hide, are pretty strong ( and maybe got something like a special attack or feature, super jump 'n stuff ). By the time you killed a specific amount of zombies, more vehicles , better weapons and stuff get unlocked... In case you killed all mutants and stopped the mutation's spread, you win and another round with different spawnpoints, maps etc. will start I already told the support about this idea ( and a few bugs ), and they told me to create such a post and gather your opinions about that... I'd be really grateful if you'd leave your opinion about this here ( I barely thought about it 15-20 minutes yet.. It's just the main idea. ) Best regards Splittey :) P.S. I could also imagine a gamemode where players are able to play the mutants, sth. like Team Deathmatch ( Soldiers vs. Mutants )..

UK 1 Server, private hive / abuse
Ganjastar replied to nyxe2k's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
it did, but you didn't notice it. when you click on the server before connecting, theres a description tab near the bottom. legit servers have @hive. shit cheater, private hive servers have something like @local hive. most of those servers have increased vehicles, helis, admins who cheat, etc. avoid unless you hear good things from friends. -
Trading MNT DEW for...
[email protected] replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Mountain Dew protects from all forms of bodily harm up to, bullets, zombie attacks, glitches, hatchets, werewolfs, cows, vehicles, patches and hotfixes, inventory wipes, Rocket posts, helicopters, and zombie pigs. So good luck! I'll be setting here with my CODE RED. -
Since I posted the images in here I restarted our server. I logged off and restarted game the problem was still there. Others were complaining about other parts of the map and showing the same problem as well as the tents and vehicles not having spawned back in since a recent server restart Restarting our server cleared this problem at balota for me anyway.

Indeed. Duping has to be fixed and then all the tents and vehicles should be wiped. So everyone is out there with what he has at that point. And for everything extra he has to work hard...

Tents have been wiped?
ZedsDeadBaby replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Nope. My tents are present and accounted for, still teeming with delicious loot. Server is most likely de-synchronized from the hive which means no tents or vehicles will appear until it is properly restarted. -
First off, there are plenty of people who aren't "dupers" who nonetheless have their stuff "duped". Secondly all items need to be reset, not just tents but vehicles and players. There really needs to be a clean wipe of the database to start fresh. It's an alpha, stuff honestly should be wiped far more often, it's not like it's hard to find decent items in the game.

Maybe a suggestion would be to do a major "clean-up" of tents. This is an imperfect solution, but might address the vast amount of duping. Normal players should have tent/vehicle contents that generally reflect the relative scarcity of items. Develop a formula that evaluates a tent/vehicle's contents and determines whether it is within acceptable norms of item spawn percentages off of the production loot tables that Rocket actually uses. For example, a tent/vehicle full of food, beverages and basic medical supplies and Makarov clips would rate as very low in the average rarity bell curve. A tent/vehicle full of rare items like NVGs, rangefinders, GPS's, ghillie suits and AS50's would scream out as disproportionally full of rare items and would rate as very high on the average rarity bell curve. Common sense might be necessary to prevent a tent with just a single AS50 from being purged. A compllicated imperfect calculation, but so what? Corrective actions? Tent/vehicle that fall below an acceptable rarity level would be untouched. Tent/vehicle that are above the acceptable rarity level (as determined by Rocket) would have items removed (rarest first) until they fell back into acceptable norms. Item removal would be distriuted across items and not focus on just the most scarce (ie. don't purge all 5 NVG's and leave 5 rangefinders and 5 GPS's, drop them down evenly based on their relative spawn percentages) Rocket could even in something like empty cans to show that items were removed by the system. This could help a bit and when combined with not letting tents/vehicles save outside of the map boundaries we might finally get a handle on duppers. Let them carry the 5 NVG's on their persons or set up more tents if they want.
