I could care less if people hoard vehicles - it's part of the game. Just go find them and quit whining about it.

gtfo my thread scrub come back when you have something better than a lee enfield and a makarov mkay and raid other bandits and win and steal vehicles from all over the map

Chernarus Quarantine Force {CQF}
DayZ Dan replied to [email protected]'s topic in Clan / Group Recruitment
Been fighting these guys for about a week now, they put up a pretty good fight... is what i'd like to say. In reality they just die a lot, crash their choppers, revert the server several hours, make Battle-eye server admin announcements about how i'm a bad man, server hop, alt+F4, dupe, script-spawn vehicles, camp Elektro with snipers, etc. Pretty much doing what everyone else, bandit or survivor, does in DayZ. Remember kids, you gotta shoot em in the head or they alt-f4. -
Pretty cool man, Having a lot of vehicles is really fun, specially if all your friends get their own. Its really fun at night too.
-
have fun with that when you find it do what you want i gave away all vehicles but 1 van and my chopper everyones so mad i gave it to my clan mates? i was helping out my friends so instead of playing dayz u come to my thread and QQ xD so butthurt also i HAVE never had trouble finding a vehicle never takes me longer than 2 hrs to find a camp or atv atleast jesus christ scrub. get skillz

Singaporean / SG server players, look no more! Small group of dedicated survivors is open.
Jean Jacques Serrault replied to chad57's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Erm. Another lesson learned: Never drive the car if you can't see the road clearly. We've lost many vehicles due to many things, so I'm ok. I've never had a settlement before, so moving throughout the map on foot is just like coming back to my old playstyle. :P Don't worry 'bout the cars, we have a long list of dreams to achieve in Chernarus. :) The most important thing is... "Hey, at least we have the fun, right?" :D -
Anyone play this in low/very low quality?
krtshv replied to daspope's topic in New Player Discussion
There is no such thing as a friendly server in DayZ. Whenever you move servers, your equipment and locations move with you. They all sync and save to the hive. And actually, finding players is 5 times easier the lower your graphics are set to. Camps (AKA Tents) and vehicles are server-specific, they don't move. -
Pretty hard to fly around the map with a huey spotting all the vehicles

US957, Hacker is invisible with an aim-bot and ability to teleport to anywhere on the map
Liquidlogic replied to realirony's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
He was the only player on the server who stayed in the lobby the entire time the hacking events took place. We (as a clan) have collective screenshots of the people who were killed, and it was everyone but him. We were "summoned" several times to different areas and either killed, offered vehicles, or turned into animals. The server admin was on and observed/ was a victim also. He supplied the above info. -
you salute by standing and pressing "\" but i did this with 2 other mates and surprised my clan by giving them each a vehicle dont hate =P having huey is awesome we found every bandit camp and all vehicles xD we blew up 2 boats and 1 atv 1tractor and 1 uaz and i placed all vehicles here, i did not find them
-
I hate vehicle hoarders...I can understand a few vehicles but thats just lame. Great find anywho. I hope you blew up most of the vehicles. Also, how do you salute?

Blue and white trucks filled with wepons
Tsyn replied to Kaffarov37's topic in New Player Discussion
Heh, you're mis-understanding DayZ a bit. The blue and white truck you're talking about is a 'Ural Civillian'. It's not filled with weapons when it first spawns, but the vehicles in this game tend to get horded. Most people hide those vehicles on the edge of the map and fill them with guns that they find after killing people or looting high-yield loot spawns. You can use this map to find the vehicle spawns. When a vehicle spawns, you'll need to repair and refuel it most likely. Hope that helps ;) -
Our server is being relentlessly hacked nightly. This has made the game unplayable for "serious" players. I realize that the engine has certain security limitations. Is there any timeline on when we can expect to see the beginnings of a playable standalone, where these cocksucking whoresons can be somewhat controlled or contained? I absolutely LOVE this mod. With all of the alpha glitches, etc... I still love it. But the stress of being killed nightly by invisi-players with speed hacks, ported into "mazes", having all of our vehicles disappear has tipped the fun to frustration ratio far out of whack. I am down with losing gear, and having to start over. Thats the nature of the beast. I dont mind "losing" to someone better, or luckier than I am. But the current state of affairs is to shitty to be endured. Cant wait for you guys to have something in place to counter these bastards. I have never been into pwding server, but am starting to believe that servers should be accessible by application only. It wont cure the problem, but it could be more of a deterrent.... Since there are NO deterrents existing currently.

Trading high-tier loot for good intel on {CQF} operations
ImaffoI replied to DayZ Dan's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I want to thank our greatest fan, Dayz Dan, for reminding me to post this: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/56188-a-curious-case-us21-vehicles-teleported/ Thank you, without your tireless efforts i wouldnt be the great person i was today. -
Helped two admins of the server (Bobo and Faded) get the best gear and a ton of vehicles in 3 days and all I got in return was constant kicking and a ban at the end. Enjoy! First location is in the northwest.

Hacking spike recently, in particular "Thunderdome"...
Mah0gan-3 replied to fourty7's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
That was probably some noob reject fixing to get BE banned, using a very low tech and old (from like 2008 or something cant remember) scripting tool, you can download from some forums. (I used to use it to fool around and have fun in the armory, or train with vehicles like helicopter and planes and such before i learned more advanced scripting tools, because it and a lot of programs like it have a lot of preset scripting commands, for very easily spawning vehicles, carpet bombings, teleportation, etc, all kinds of things and the ability to put white or other colored text in the middle of the screen was one of the presets, and you could change the text very easily, but the default text was set to HAXXX.) He was probably testing it out or something, unfortunately for him, its BE security bypass tech is out of date by literally years, i assume he got banned nearly instantly afterwards. -
Are AS50's worth anything anymore?
Redshift replied to shypatrick's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Well that depends on what value system you are referring to. If you mean are they worth anything as a weapon to use against other player/zombies, then yes the AS50 is a good sniper weapon and very potent against vehicles. If you mean are they worth anything in a monetary or trade by barter sense..... well I can't answer this because trading/buying items in this type of game seems silly. If you mean are they worth picking up because you are worried about getting a hacked weapon, you have no worries there as Rocket has clearly stated that simply having a hacked weapon on you will not be sufficient to result in a ban. -
The Friendly Survivor and the Disappearing UAZ
MrJimmySlayer posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
To set the scene, I began playing yesterday and spawned a-fresh below the Balota deer stands, after dying late the previous night and deciding to wait until the morrow to continue. My brother and I play together often and on this occasion we decided to meet up at the Northern apartments in Cherno, so that I could give him some med assistance (he was on roughly 2000 blood) and then grab some supplies and head up to our camp. I made a quick trip to the deer stands in the hopes of finding some sort of weapon in case of an emergency on the way to, or at, the apartments. Nearing the south-west deer stand (bottom right facing North), I hear gunshots. AKM. The rounds pierced the air around me, but as I come closer to the deer stand I see a man shooting at the zombies on the ground in front of me, clearing a path. I call out to him on voice chat, asking him if he is in need of bandaging, and he responds with something along the lines of "yeah, can you help me look for some ammo?". We search the other deer stands for ammo for his gun, when he yells "Got an AK-74 for ya over here!" We fix each other's wounds up and I grab the AK and a few rounds for it, and say our goodbye's. He veers off toward the coast as I head toward a mountain for use as cover for the rest of the journey. As I move further into the distance, I hear the snap of his AKM, and look back to see tens of zombies fall and bite the dust. This was the first friendly survivor I had encountered in the game, other than a hatchet man in a barn I had to save from zombies weeks ago. I've been playing for multiple weeks now, and had many many encounters with other survivors and bandits alike. The amount times where an unnecessary murder took place and put me back on the coast is amazing. I totally understand the threat factor, and believe me, I know how much it sucks to have to lose hard earned gear, so I get why many people try to DC to attempt to avoid death, but in many of these encounters I would have been more than happy to offer medical support or food and drink, or even give a newbie a gun. Unfortunately when a hatchet man tries to hack you to bits for your gear it's hard not to put them in their place instead of attempting negotiations, because as many have said before, you really can't trust anyone. After this encounter though, much of my faith in humanity and the Aussie population has been restored, and I hope to encounter this survivor again sometime. So... to the other part of the story... I arrive in Cherno and start to crouch run toward the apartments from the mountain on the west when I spot an oddity in a bush. A parked UAZ sits on the hill next to the apartments, out of fuel and with a totally red engine. I didn't want to stick around to have a bullet put in my face, so I swiftly left, and made my way to heal my brother. We get organised, grab all the meds we can, heal up, and hit the road. I want to take another look at the UAZ, so we pass it and crouch behind it incase of snipers. opening up the boot, I find to my great surprise an M107, 3 mags, plenty of fuel, food, water, some odds and ends, and fuel tank parts. I begin repairs on the car, and refuel with a jerry can (enough to make a quick escape). We chuck our meds in the back, and rev up the engine. She moves. We rocket up the hill I came from at a riveting 3kph, and reach a gravity defying 20kph on the dirt track at the top. Stopping further down the road to refuel in a safer place, my brother takes the M107, we save the vehicle, and continue on toward camp. Passing through Nadezhdino, the road is clear and I speed up. Suddenly out of nowhere, that glitch I read about on the forum happens. "Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiet". A burnt out truck appears directly in front of me, and I clip it with the UAZ. Boom. Car explodes, we get out just in time to be unconscious and die on the ground beside the car. My brother flips his shit in losing the M107, and decides he won't be playing anymore tonight. I read somewhere on the dev-heaven Issue Tracker about vehicles reappearing at the last saved location on server restart, and I knew one was due that night. I made the trek back to the destroyed UAZ, and happy as Larry, I find my dead brother's body standing up on the road, M107 in hand. I take his loot (my body had disappeared) and head back to camp on foot. Putting the weapon in our of out tents, I see it. Perfect timing. "Global: Server restarting in 5 minutes" I log off and wait for the yellow briefing status to turn to playing, then I hop back in. It's dark out, but moonlit, so the road and houses are visible as I approach Nadezhdino. I take out the binocs, and to my surprise, instead of respawning at the last saved location, my UAZ was repaired and sitting on the road ready to be taken. I get to the UAZ and to my great surprise, all the gear is still inside, and it is in a drive-able state. It takes me a while to hoof it up a hill which blocks my way to my campsite, but eventually I park it nicely in a spot close to my tents, extremely well hidden from the outside world. Now, keep in mind at the time of play it was night, and there were not too many players on the server. In addition to this, most I would assume would be NVG users looting towns in the North, so the chances of someone having followed me is very, very slim. The UAZ had a couple of empty jerry cans so I went to fill them up at the nearest petrol station, roughly 200m from my campsite. I rush up there, fill them all, and rush back. When I arrive back at the site I have a bit of trouble locating the vehicle, so I turn up the gamma a bit to see if that helps to distinguish the car. No dice. I panic and run around in between trees and such trying to find the vehicle. Nope. Gone. Server had another restart within the next couple of minutes (the server often has 2 within half an hour in case shit gets messed up), and to my great unluck, my UAZ was still gone. Now I claim this on hackers, because I had a similar situation happen to me not two weeks ago where I lost a motorbike, then in the following days my quadbike. Pretty pissed off about it, I mean really, it's cool you stole all our vehicles, but do you seriously need that many cars? Come on mate, when will you ever use all that shit you stole? Anyway, it's an alpha and all that so I know you don't have to tell me, and yeah the tents lost nothing so chill haters :P Well that's the story, hope it was a good little (or big) read for you. See you round :D TL;DR: Friendly gave me boom, boom. Found UAZ, stolen by hacker. Sadface.- 1 reply

MiNdl3sS replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion

[Video] PvPing, looting a camp and a suprise!

So what you're saying is that all the vehicles we found yesterday was hacked? I'll put the recording up so you can tell if the gear was hacked or not. -
Saving tents and vehicle issues
Elenkel replied to LoG Steppenwolf's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's possible that some or all of the vehicles came from hackers. This doesn't necessarily mean that some of your clan members spawned the vehicles via script, but it's possible that they obtained them from hackers (without knowledge) either by finding them or killing the hackers. Remember the phrase "illegal copies may degrade"? Upon a server restart any vehicle that was spawned via script will disappear. ADD: It's also possible that someone simply stole the vehicles. Hackers have vehicle markers and can spot any vehicle on the map, regardless of how well hidden it is. -
[Video] Touching off 90 satchel charges at once!!
thec1aw posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yes, you read that right. Me and my friend Dagger found a Ural and V3S off in the woods in the NW corner of the map. Both were fully stocked with weapons, ammo, clothing etc, but what amazed me were the 100 Satchel Charges!!! Ok, i know they are obviously duped, or hacked in, but we decided to use ALL OF THEM AT ONCE and clear out a entire treeline along with the Ural :D Here is the first video, all of these were recorded live on my twitch channel with 150 people watching  http://www.twitch.tv...1aw/b/326880292 So we decided to save 10 of them and take down some houses at Petrovka. Sorry in advanced for my excited girly screaming :) http://www.twitch.tv...1aw/b/326880639 And like i said, all of these charges were found at a vehicle camp. Here is the entire livestream, you can skip to around 2:27 to see me finding the vehicles http://www.twitch.tv...1aw/b/326875531 Hope you enjoyed the explosions as much as we did :) -
A funny list, tho. i needs a few more. Please illustrate the hardcore players, like the type "The role player" , "The skilled survivor" , "The tryhard" (which is the one that try to find all the good loot, but never finds any, who whines on forums about everyone stealing his loot, like server hoppers and the hoarders who takes his vehicles. Also the "The hacker" ... 4 personalities which could be fun to discribe. :D ? what you think.

To add to this, I think It'd be cool to perhaps make it so Bicycles despawn back to their original position after being left unattended for say an hour or so, clans may disagree, but bicycles have no purpose besides to transport seeing they don't carry any gear, perhaps would be better to just have them spawn randomly. That or perhaps don't spawn bicycles into the game, and instead make them a vehicle you can actually create, you just need to find say 2 tires and 3-4 scrap metal and it will combine into a bike.. though idk if that is possible to be done in game and could cause a ton of glitches, I honestly think and wish there was a way to counter the hoarding of at least /some/ vehicles from clans, even a little bicycle.
