Yeah my squad basically would hoard vehicles and items and I mean we'd get raided every now and again and then find more vehicles and items and hide them elsewhere, it was a rinse and repeat deal. About 2 weeks ago though our Ural got stolen and we were pretty pissed, any good military weapon you could think of was in it, SVD Camo, L85A2, AS50, etc etc, the most distinctive part of the inventory of the Ural was that there was 16 Blood Bags. So, yeah, 2 weeks ago it came up missing, oh well we moved on and made about 3 more bases, obviously we would make one after another was raided. The helicopter update comes back, after hours and hours of searching, and a bit of forum research, we found the UH-H1 on the only apparent spawn point that's been reported thus far. After about 4 or 5 hours of fuel and part trips to the Polana factory and lootpiling, we finally come up with the parts we need to get the thing running. Fortunately earlier we found a boat so we were able to make a few ferry trips, since the boat doesn't have an inventory that was our only option. Got the chopper running and airborne, with hardly any fuel. Took it to a nearby fueling point, spent 10 minutes with a small fuel train, and we were off. Within 30 minutes of base-hunting, we ended up in the forests west of Kamenka, and we spotted a Ural. The 6 of us in the chopper were ecstatic, we couldn't imagine that it'd be our Ural but it was a Ural still and likely to have plenty of supplies. We landed, inspected the Ural, and to our surprise, 16 blood bags were in it, as well as our NVG FAL, L85, AS50, everything we had put in there in a weeks worth of having it, was still there, except one SVD Camo, but that was no issue to us. We had one of our guys transport it to safety, I myself don't know where it is but, damn that was a great bit of vengeance. Whoever stole it will log back on and find it missing, and that was enough to put a smile on all our faces. We'd have never found it if not for the Huey, so hell yeah, I love the Heli Update!

That's when there were 2 people in our camp, friend told me we were getting raided, just wanted to know who they were. If you're going to make a big deal out of me asking for their names, go ahead, but we killed them either way and found out 2 minutes after. "17:42:19 BattlEye Server: (Vehicle) EG.IdrA: Can you get us barb wire/sandbags? 17:42:31 BattlEye Server: (Vehicle) EG.iNcontroL: a fair amount 17:43:03 BattlEye Server: (Vehicle) EG.iNcontroL: TURTLENECK 17:43:37 BattlEye Server: (Direct) EG.IdrA: Spawn him here please? 17:43:42 BattlEye Server: (Direct) EG.IdrA: He wanted to parachute LOL" Friend alt tabbed in and hit eject (His fault), made up an excuse saying he wanted to parachute out so he doesn't look like a fool, so saving the 10 minute fly again we asked him to spawn him here. He spawned us several items (around 10 Barb wires, 15 sandbags, and then planted bear traps all around me and my friend for jokes). Everything he gave us is destroyed, and I believe we lost 1 ATV and a motorcycle because of a bad grenade blowing up the spawned vehicles. I don't have time to argue all night (2 AM here). I asked him for several things (Spawning friends from accidents, small items). I'm sorry that I asked for them, but they're all gone. Can you just announce if i'm going to be unbanned or not, since I would really like to go to bed soon. Edit - Why are you making something between the server admin and me your fight? I won't get a global, since I didn't use any cheats/exploits. The hacker may, but not me, since BattlEye actually knows what to look for.

LU12 - ADMIN ABUSE OR UNIDENTIFIED HACKING + VIDEO SOON EXPLAIN: So I was playing with some friends late, we were supposed to do some raiding as we marked some camps around the map until something hit us (Some AS50 shots) We did as most would which was to spread out and look for any movement nearby, but then suddenly there was spawned weapons / backpacks, vehicles and much more around us. The hacker was invisible for a period amount of time but then he went out of cloak and he started to show off different things. At the end of it all he teleported the entire server to a place called the Thunder-Doom where we had to fight for our lifes (Something not in the DayZ mod) Fortunate as I am I was killed just a minute in or so... I lost everything I had achieved when we all got teleported; the last few days in a glimps of a hackers miserable way of enjoying his sad life. Another thing to take note of he was not unfriendly at start, he did seem to mean no harm, only show off some weapons that are not supposed to be in the game, spawning some vehicles we've been looking for and so on. We did also try to find out what his character name was but as I managed to open his backpack there was no sign of any name... PROOF: I will post a video showing the entire episode soon enough but I really have to go get some sleep for now ... Too bad there are so many hackers in this amazing game, that ruins everyone elses survival experience..... We did try to get hold on the admin but he wasn't online at the time, if you happen to read this ... get a condom for your server, asap ;-) -
Admin abuse ( DayZ - UK125 (1.7.2.4/95389) (Veteran|3D:ON|CH:OFF) dayzmod.com - KIA DayZ Server )

Interesting. There are only two admins on this server. The evening you are referring to was the evening uk125 changed to 1.7.2.4 and the 95389 build. Indeed there were several restarts of the server because for whatever reason the cfg files were not loaded in correctly when the server restarted post patch. You already know the game is full of bugs, why do you not suspect the server controls have their fair share of problems? There are three "timed" or "planned" server restarts each day on this server, on top of any restarts that are necessary for cfg changes, server/hive crashes or if tents/vehicles fail to spawn in after a server restart (regular occurence, check the forums) Dayz or arma2 (one of them anyway) has a bad memory leak in the code which means the server benefits from regular restarts to reset the memory usage stats. Our host also restarts the server from time to time with no notice. You are not alone loosing items/vehicles from these restarts, it happens to everyone... Alpha remember? You are correct saying that the server has been restarted due to a vehicle flip (read quad bike on Podeba Dam!) because this is clearly a glitch in the arma/dayz polygons and should not happen - dont like it? Neither do we, but this is Alpha and bugs like this are in the game. I'm not aware of a time when the server was restarted for vehicles flipped due to driver error. Hopefully Rocket can fix the atvs or provide us with the ability to "push" a flipped quad back onto its wheels with the aid of two or more players. You should also be pleased to hear that uk125 tracks server logs and will also shutdown the server manually if they suspect hacked items on the server. This happens more regularly than we would like and it affects us greatly too, which is why we take steps to control it. As with hacking, Intentional duping is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. As someone here stated, we do have a large pool of players and as such cover a good deal of the map. We provide intel on other ppls movements, observe them and farm their gear. We do systematic sweeps of the map and discover tons of vehicle and tent stashes when we do. We regularly find good loot because we (had, i believe we had one of our bases compromised recently) have a large number of vehicles and use them night and day which allows us to find heli crash sites regularly. Everyone is welcome on our server but please ensure you respect that large numbers of players working together tend to have a better time of things in DayZ. The mod rewards teamplay. Typically at any one time the server has at least 50% of the players present playing together with mandatory voice comms despite not wearing appropriate tags in game. -

He was fired at and hit several times. He had god mode and was blowing up our vehicles. After he was banned, Vulwulf spotted the second (AntiSwag) and shot him three times with an M14 AIM. Our vehicles then exploded and Vulwulf was killed, and Xyro (nearby) spotted a large explosion (possibly satchel). ~50m across. Vehicles disappeared (no husks) and tents were flattened.

US 1060 - Admin kicks for almost dying

Not the admin but I was in that bus. He kicked you because we were running an older version which we thought did not spawn helis (there is mention of helis being added back in the newest version changelog) the server is running 1.7.2.3 . We had already seen things that led us to believe there were hackers on the server like large circles of vehicles as if spawned in. Believe me here, if you came by that chopper honestly sorry about that but we had just been discussing the possibility of encountering choppers ten minutes earlier and the general consensus was there should not be any choppers in this version. Don't know if this counts as counter-proof but the video the OP posted as proof is on a channel call [How to Hack] http://i.imgur.com/iPWoC.png Again if that was an honest helicopter then apologies but the admin banned you for being suspected of hacking. Death was not a huge concern as our characters were all fairly fresh and we were on a supply run after picking up a friend. So we were not carrying high value gear just ARs, packs and basic supplies. As for kicking anyone who joined we banned the players in the helicopter, no one else was banned and the server had 16 players in it again in the next 30 minutes. We like having a populated server. It is not our practice to just kick and ban without cause. We have worked hard on this server and we do not want it ruined by hackers. We play this game to have fun and have no desire to interfere with anyone else's. -
I admit he was hacking? I said he was hacking, I didn't admit anything, I'm hiding nothing. Me and my group didn't benefit from it at all. We blew up the vehicles he spawned here, and everything is as is when he wasn't here.. If you read, I said "I was super nice and neglected nothing of his decisions, for the fateful question of "Why not...?" might come up and rage would ensume." It saved time, and it was out of the blue, why not? Of course I hate hackers, everyone does, but with a camp that you and 6 others worked on, you don't say "fuck off" to a hacker hoping he'll take it nicely. Like I said, he stayed around us by his choice, I wasn't against anything he did because, repeating myself once again, I don't want him to get mad. I always keep trouble away from me, and if it's easily preventable, then why not prevent it instead of causing up a storm.

Lol, it's Alpha and free, how greedy do you wanna get? It's also just Rocket running it with a few moderators.... Give the game a break you little child, who cares if you lost your gun, I've lost bases of them (with vehicles as well) Go play some other game if you are hating

My helicopter and tents seem to be working properly, before the patch our new tents and vehicles would vanish and rarely come back. -
Well, lets see i've sniping for a while now with my BAF as50 for a while now, i have both m107 standard ammo and the as50 NATO rounds which are BEAST when shooting down helis or blowing up cars on the road. (For those that don't know the 12.7x99 NATO rounds for the anti-material rifle BAF as50 will take out any vehicle/player/zombie in 1 hit of course for vehicles you have to hit the engine block). I know how to adjust for bullet drop, which is fairly easy when using my rangefinder so i can zero in my rifle to whatever is desired. The reason why i'm listing this is because i'm trying to prove that i'm not some nub trying to join a group and be carried. I don't kill randoms that spawn at the beach, i specifically counter camp bandits / griefers. While playing dayz I've had my run ins with douches that shoot to kill, i've spent a lot of time collecting weapons and transporting them to my stock tents that i won't reveal. I have died against other survivors before but that was in like 5v1 scenarios. In the current life i have around 50 kills, mostly all bandit and those i deemed dangerous to my "well being". Its only been like 2 days as well in this life. I'm looking for a group that shares my interests, in well actually playing Dayz and some not ripoff of BF2. Hit me up here if you think you can fit me in your group, or if you just wanna hang with me! I have a mumble as well, keep in mind i'm not going to run around with beginners please provide some screenshots of your gear. Found someone atm: will bump again when lonely!

I fixed up a UAZ that had 10 of these in it, and I wasnt sure about them so I dropped them. I couldnt imagine trying to get the Heli going, it took me 2-3hrs of running around just to get the UAZ going....then of course it was found when I logged after work. So it really wasnt worth it for the time that I put into it. The 55 error is really odd, Im starting to believe it is a hack? Because it seems to only happen to me on my home server...and it seems to come up at really inconvenient times.(driving vehicles, looting crashed heli's etc.) Ive also had vehicles disappear on me after being kicked with the same error. -
I like the idea. I know there are several posts about this, but that just shows that people are interested in this. The point of the game, as I understand it, is to promote all playstyles. Not just YOUR style. So if this was added, it would need to be something subtle. Nothing that added combat value, or like several people mentioned most people would pick it. I personally would be a medic or engineer. I love building bases and helping people, so something like this would interest me. A doctor WOULD be better at medicine. A mechanic WOULD be better at fixing cars. Little bonuses that your character is born with. I think subtle is the key to making something like this work. Class balance is always a pain in games, so make it more roleplaing and less important. So what if was like this: Soilder: can combine several partially used ammo clips into 1 full clips Doctor: Faster transusions and bandaging Engineer: Faster setup/tear down time for building objects Mechanic: Faster repair of vehicles Etc: etc I just think it would be really cool to see people in tattered versions of their uniforms from their profession.

was on a server the other day, wished i knew what one, (joined a random one) was up near misty point and found clan members of the said server building a camp, they were instantly spawning in vehicles and weapons and tents, i took shots at them and they kicked me for hacking....... very very lame and pathetic of them, i sure hope i find the server again, if i do i shall report it

US 1: Biscuit.Gaming Admin Abuse

We have never banned a single player from our server. We have never even kicked a single player off our server, even when we have been under attack by cheaters. Yet, a couple of players found our camp, stole our vehicles, and we tracked them down 3km from where they were stolen from. We retook the vehicles and according to these players, "the admins are cheating and are using a vehicle hack" to find the vehicles they had stolen. These two guys have even posted a thread on Reddit about our "cheating admins" and how our server was "crap". Lied about there being multiple complaints about the admins, when there's never been one. They then posted the location of our camp and told people to go get revenge. We're not worried about the camp, not the first time we have had to move a camp or lost gear after it was compromised. It is the fact that we have a continuous Reddit army coming into the server to get revenge on "cheating" admins, and we have had more cheaters today than in the last fortnight (3 terrordome teleports so far today). What does upset me, is that a situation like above can destroy a server and it's reputation, all based on the words of one little butthurt player. There are abusive admins out there, but there are a lot more good admins than there are bad. We need some love. -

hey rocket should disable those white circle halos on the side of the screen not sure if anybody notices them but hackers may use that for their advantage to find vehicles near them with a script. Also should disable any scripting commands such as createmarker or createmarkerlocal on the client side in the dayz mod itself I don't know if its possible to do but it just may stop hackers from teleporting to them or being able to see them on the map. Wish I can find those private sites if I find any I'll share what I find in their scripts and tell them what they are using and atleast in that way you guys can figure out a way to prevent it. I will PM it and not show it public. Also disable setposition script or anything that a hacker can use to teleport with. If you can disable anything like that, it would really help alot and stop hackers from using anything to troll with. Also disable allowdamage 1 if possible. You can also add in some stuff for admins to use I'm sick of being powerless as an admin and can't find out who is launching scripts.. if you can find a way to script in a way to show up on screen to show when a player launches a foreign script or execute something to where it has allowdamage 0 in a script it should show it to an admin. Also should see if its possible to create something to detect when a player teleports from a certain distance like a player teleported like 500m out of no where or 10,000m out of no where and tell the admin and the admin can investigate it :). Also the admins should be able to read player stats as well in game. If you can make anything like that for admins to use that'll be awesome anything to show player's information or game stats and don't show their location or any of that but just the stats will be fine. Admins should be able to get information about a player or anything that an admin can use to gather evidence before they ban will be greatly appreciated. Just don't tell admins like their location. Also players should be able to see who they got killed by. But I mean in a way I do understand why you have them disabled as hackers can use it to rage against that player with hacks to get them back. But if true admins be able to see it only like in displays in group channel that be cool also. Right now Day Z is in desperate help of some admin power. -

Rocket you need to get all the hackers out of here we got a heli today and a load of stuff, a hacker teleports to us with m136 and satchel charges and blew up all of our tents and then teleported the vehicles on the server to nwaf with everyone. Need to make it so this stuff doesn't happen. -
Hello, I was thinking of some stuff that may be able to stop hackers from teleporting stuff or seeing markers on the map. How about just disabling them on the client side permanently? I really don't know if its possible to do so but delete or ban that script or command from the game :P and disable any other scripting commands that aren't being used in game so that way the hackers won't be able to create a script to show where the vehicles are at. Also if there is a way maybe encrypt the packets being sent/received from the server to the client at-least make it nearly impossible for a hacker to be able to hack on the server or exposing vehicle locations or tent locations on the map or being able to teleport to it. I mean thats the best that I can come up with.. an in game anti cheat is the best anti cheat protection that your going to get. Battleye is okay to a point but anything that wasn't built by the game itself is going to have weak points. But if you build it in game and runs only from the server like a script of some sort it be harder for hackers to hack on servers. I mean I don't know this is just all a guess and seems possible. If its possible also disable those white circle halos that you get on the side of the screen which indicates that something is there like an animal or a player or even a vehicle I believe a hacker may be able to use that for his own advantage with a script.

Hey, I'm looking for a casual bandit clan. My current gear is an M4 CCO SD, Coyote Backpack, NVGs, full toolbelt, and a silenced M9. My age is 16. I don't act like an immature 16 year old does, though. My voice is not annoying as shit. My longest survived is around 15-20 days. I also want a clan that has at least 20 members. Optional: Have some vehicles, and a camp. Optional: Have your own server. I can supply weapons to the clan if needed.

I was thinking earlier that it would be cool to be able to use the hatchet to cut down branches that could be used to hide/camouflage smaller vehicles and make them less visible to passers by when they are not in use. It wouldn't make them impossible to steal, but it would make hiding them easier and a more viable option.

Just died so I do not have much gear atm, but I have a very deep understanding about how the game works, and the different mechanics. Used to own around 3 or 4 vehicles, skilled helicopter pilot as well, and overall just wanting to have a fun and enjoyable time on day z whilst keeping a serious tone in some moments. -
How Zs should behave. (very long post, no real tl; dr)

So, after the last patch, Zs hearing has been fixed: now they always hear gunshots if they are in the weapon audible range, and they aggro the shooter. I like the challenge they pose now - it is actually quite difficult to take a group of them alone, hence more teamwork is needed (which I think is a good thing, makes the game much more interesting, even group vs group pvp is metter imo). However, I'm not happy with the way Zs behave - I find it to be very unrealistic and extremely annoying. Also the respawn is a bit too fast (and seems bugged in a way I will explain later, but that might be an intended feature What annoys me is that even without line of sight (if there's a building or thick vegetation between them and a shooter) the know where a shooter is as soon as they hear a gunshot, and start ussain-bolt-fast zigzagging towards the exact location of the shooter. This behaviour should happen only if they have line of sight with the source of the noise (gunshot or footsteps): if a Z hears a noise, he should "turn" that way: if a non-infected is in sight he should proceed do what Zs do - ninjazigzag towards him and break his legs with a well placed thai low kick, then proceed to eat his ballsack. But if there's nobody in sight they should just move towards the location. So, if someone starts firing a loud weapon inside a church, all Zs in the audible range should move towards the church, trying to get in, but without immediate aggro until they actually see a prey. What do you guys reckon, wouldn't it be much more realistic? Let's tl;dr recap with what my ideal model for Z aggro is. 0) Zs wander around, minding their own business and not giving a fuck like a baws. 1) If a Z has a non infected in his line of sight he aggroes him (although this obviously is effected by the survivor distance and crouch/prone/walking/running/still, just like it does now) 2) If a Z hears a noise (footsteps, gunshots, vehicles, explosions, tin cans, etc.) it immediately turns towards the noise source, and then: 2a)if a Z has a non infected in his line of sight, go back to step 1 2b)if a survivor is not to be seen (because too far, prone, behind a building, etc.) he should start walking towards the area where the noise came from, kind of 'looking' for him, but without instant aggro 2c)if the noise comes from inside a building, he should start walking towards the closest entrance of the building and get in, and wander inside for a while, but without instant aggro 3) After steps 2b) and 2c) , if the Z hasn't found a prey for X seconds, he starts walking back to the area of his spawn point, and goes back to step 0 So, again, what do you think? In this way it would be pretty much more realistic, without losing the zig-zag hard to hit once they aggro thing, even though I'm afraid Arma II OA AI pathfinding would limit this possibility. -

That's because not nearly as many people were ever really doing it as the forums would have you believe. It wasn't that common in the first place, so of course there's not a ton of people coming and saying "it doesn't work anymore." It was a bunch of overblown complaints on the forum and probably a small handful of servers where it was actually happening. Most people hide their vehicles near the map, because nobody wants to drive for 45 minutes and use a full tank of fuel at the start and end of every single one of their play sessions. It's prohibitive. People just park their vehicles in the forest west or north of the main avenues of traffic and nobody is smart or dedicated enough to find them. I've kept a land rover for like 30 days doing just that. No off map trickery. Just park it behind a tree and rely on people's inattention to keep it hidden. Simple as that. -
UH-1H Takes A LOT of Fuel

nothing special really, my group got so far 19 ghillies 12 nvg's plus 6 people running around with some aswell, 1 of them were duped we think about 20-30 weapons, weapons being. M14(6-7), AS50(1 we had 3), m107(1), M4CCO(6), M4Holo with launcher(1), M4's(cant remember), 2 or 3 M4SD's, 1 Saw and 1 MOD 48, 4 DMR's, 4 L85 AWS, some FN-Fals, 1 Rocket launcher when i go pick it up lol and more weapons i cant remember right now im holding 1 SVD camo we got 1 huey 2 pickups 1 Motorbike with flames on it and one white/red that we cant seem to find 2 ATV's (we had 4) 1 Flatbed 1 Ural 6-7 Satchels 3-4 Range finders 4 Gps about 1 of the m14's were duped in a weird way where one of our guys chars were spawned twice, i have no idea how that happened, other than that, we found all the other items :) its funny what people save in their tents and how great it is to come across nice people, even on a twitch stream :) And if some of the items were duped by other players then it isnt our fault either, as we destroy the camps we come across, yesterday we found a camp with 20 satchels, and blew it sky high lol, it should be on youtube shortly No items were hacked in ofc, and i dont think any of the weapons we have are spawned in by a hacker, and when we find a hackers weapon we usually run far away with it and drop it. the way we fuel the chopper is we have 12 or so jerry cans and we just go to a refuel spot and go nuts, it takes some time but its efficient. The vehicles werent horded aswell, we came across them on the map and some of them we lost and regained, plus some people really got happy killing us when they got all that phat lewt, since we arent disconnecters we are gold on feet. + my char is 8-9 days old
