the nato rounds do 140k damage vs m107s 37k damage (m107 will not 1 shot if you hit them in lower legs / feet. also they do more damage to vehicles) theyre also faster and drop less with the assumption that youre duping, the nato rounds would be better -

We've been dealing with a group of hackers in that area for the last few days. We've banned 3 so far. Two for vehicle spawning (one was even invisible and offered to spawn a dirt bike for the admin) and one for invulnerability. They were using a set of tents with hacked items, surrounded by vehicles as their base. While we were watching that area we saw you ride a bicycle directly to those tents, kill someone, move to another location and take fire. We thought it was a little fishy when you headed straight for the tents so we looked up your past few moments in our logs. Our server logs show you joining the server, moving a few meters, and a bicycle spawning directly on top of you. You also came in with a hacked weapon - a PDW sd. -
Join a Clan, youll find plenty of vehicles.

[EU-22M] Looking for a group to play with or clan

Hi, title says it - I'm looking for a group or clan to play with on a regular basis. I live in Berlin, Germany and am 22 years old male - I speak english and german fluently, have a mic and flexible gaming times. I prefer GMT+0-3 (because I like playing at night when it is night - alltho I'm flexible on that) with 3rd-person servers that have a connection time under 3 min if possible. I'm looking for a semi-casual set of people to play with that work good in groups. I'm adaptable to millitary style gameplay because I used to play Counter Strike in a clan about 6-7 years ago. What I mean by semi-casual is that I want to play in a group, build a camp, get vehicles and do raids and stuff but in a relaxed and planned gaming enviornment without yelling at people just because they slightly did something wrong. I'm even good to go with a distribution of roles. So if anyone wants to play with or hire me - I'd be happy to commit myself to a group. Greets, Tingle. This is already in place, if a vehicle is not used for so many days it will respawn. The people who own the vehicles just login often enough to reset the timer. If you want a vehicle check the maps which show the spawn locations and look in the woods on the Western and Northern edges of the map.

I'm pretty sure to have read in this forum something about that, or maybe dayzwiki, if i remember correctly vehicles will despawn after few days being untouched.

He can hear himself shooting. He can hear zombies. He can hear vehicles. But he can not hear me or other people shooting. We have re downloaded DayZ and have re downloaded the new Beta. + validated steam files for both arma and arma:ao Anyone have any ideas?

You're an idiot. As server admins we get 0 tools to help stop the hacking as it happens, now we don't even have a side chat for people to tell us whats going on, are we now suppossed to also pay for a public teamspeak 3 server and police that too so that people can tell us when they see hacking going on? meanwhile the hackers out there have tools like this http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg13/scaled.php?server=13&filename=tentsrandom.jpg&res=landing that are reading from all the info stored in active memory the game client gets sent [for no good reason] letting them see where everyone is, where every vehicle is, where every tent is, where every zombie is, in fact that can see where and what every piece of spawned loot is in the game. Thats not even counting the hacks for killing people instantly and spawning vehicles .etc., this is just the passive hacks that BE can never detect and that can't be stopped until the server stops sending every piece of data about everything on the server to the client all the time. as a server admin, where are my tools to see people teleporting around the map? teleporting vehicles, tent duping .etc? what I have to manually parse the log in notepad for hours per day trying to spot some script usage which 90% of the time BE doesn't even detect because of active memory injection? -

So yanno you go a couple days with your server up and its all good, then suddenly in the wee hours of the morning just as the sun is cresting over the Chernarus horizon, all the vehicles on the server suddenly teleport to a single location....and in 5 minutes three unknown names on the server have teleported to locations like Skalisty Island the middle of no where wilderness north of Vybor, and down to Chernogorosk and killed everyone you have in your team speak including several people that weren't. You attempt to recover from the situation and find multiple buildings around the server where you could potentially enter a building near the coast has for some reason spawned nearly ten meters of tightly packed wire fencing, sandbags and tank traps in a nearly geometrically accurate pattern. All of which seems to have occurred in the space of a few minutes. Nice job there BattlEye....seriously. Other than pulling GUID's and reporting them.....what are we supposed to do? You can't stop this crap from happening, you can't see it coming before it occurs. We can't lock the server...thats a given, and we can't divert a hack in progress until its pretty much over. Oh and more fun, no matter how many times we restart the server all that script spawned area denial stuff comes back with every server restart, regardless of how many times we remove it. Yanno we're already paying for the server, and we're not asking for safety from people playing the game straight, but theres no way to detect a hack in use til BattlEye has updated to counter it, and then....surprise surprise all the hacker does is change the memory addresses in use on their hack and the hacks are back. We definitely love playing the game when everyones playing straight, death is acceptable, dying cause a group of people can teleport to every location on the server with active people in it and kill everyone there with next to no effort is not acceptable...and to be honest it sucks to be paying to allow people to do it. Kick them, ban them, they just come back under a different IP and start over, so the server admin, the poor sap having to pay for everyones fun has to go pull the server logs, parse the data for GUID's and ban the GUID's...when hey, would be nice if the guy footing the bill could play, rather than have to do data analysis simply to deal with a situation that has already occurred and the damage is already done. Is there some kind of centralized server admin resource that has an up to date list of GUID's we can just add to our ban list? Our host service doesn't seem to keep one. -
Niemands "Cleaning a Village aka Settling down"

Since I am one of those settler-types that want to survive and settle down somewhere, I gotta provide this idea, even if it will not get good feedback. The striked parts are obsolete. Please read the new, coloured parts. Sources: Blue refers to requests/suggestions in this thread, usually are linked to the post. Green is inspired by the idea to use a generator for making Zeds unable to spawn in an area, see Post#82 in the Liberation-Thread. Crimson are new additions from my own brain. The Idea is to clean a town from Zeds. Somewhere hidden in the town is a spot/switch that makes the Zeds unable to spawn for 12* hours. Before being able to flip that switch to green (what means "save") you need to clean the city out. This will need a reduced Zed-spawnrate. (Since when you are in a village with 4 people the ones you killed first respawn the instant you kill the second ones). How it could work: Players come into a village. they need to find the lever/switch for the village (it is randomly placed somewhere, a bit hidden). They go to the switch and set it to "try cleaning". Now the Spawnrate for Zeds is reduced to 50* percent. When all Zeds in the village are dead the Lever turns green. In every village (towns, airfields, random huts/sheds/barns and cities are not cleanable! | Post #7 ) is a generator. - Usually it is a bit hidden. If a group of players wants to clean a village they need to fill it completely (it takes 100* liters?) and then start it. It will make an unsteady, stuttering and loud noise. This will attract the Zeds in an area of 500* meters. The Zeds will try to attack it (or the players next to it) and destroy it (if they succeed it needs to be repaired with engine-parts, fuel-tank-parts and so on...). Players need to defend the generator until it runs steady (and more quiet). As soon as it runs steady no new zeds will spawn in the village, but some will spawn around it. If there are enough players in the village it could happen (only by a small chance) that there spawns a horde on one border of the village. The Generator The generator runs a few (maybe 6 to 12?) hours with those 100* liters. It will start running unsteady again in the last 10%* of tankfilling (but not as loud as before) to indicate that it is empty. As soon as the generator is out of gas the area slowly becomes swarmed again. Players can fill it up again, same as they can with vehicles.Maybe the generator will start to "die" with the time. so you can walk to it and check if the engine and the fueltank are still alright. Players would need to go out and find new parts and repair it. Lootspawns in cleaned areas Now, most of you will say "That will result in lootcamping!". But! The Lootspawns will be like the Zed-Spawns. They will not be removed but the spawnrate will be down to 10* percent and the value will also drop one or two levels. Zedspawns in cleaned areas Since it would be too easy to have the area cleaned once and no Zeds appear anymore, there will spawn some from time to time. but maybe only one or two. (RolePlay-Reason: It came from the woods). Keeping the area cleanSee "The Generator" above. There are two ideas in my head. The easy one: The Switch needs to be flipped every 6* hours. To add more action: it will appear on a different spot every 4* hours. This way players need to find it. The more complicated, but realistic one: Zeds will spawn once in a while (like i wrote above at "Zedspawns in cleaned areas") and as soon as there are 10* Zeds in that village it will become unclean again. The Serverhopping-Problem Now, I await people to say "But but but the serverhoppers!?" I read a good suggestion (cant find the link, sorry) where somebody suggested that people, if they logout in a house and login on another server (this three words are added by me here will be ported 500meters away to the woods. This could be used here, too. All in all * You will have a little village where you can live in peace for a while - players will be able to settle down, like they (at least some of them) want to. * Bandits can raid those villages. * Other groups can take over those villages * Defensive Buildings (like tanktraps, that fence, sandbags beartraps and so on) will become more needful. * Players can find other players easily and there can be an inGame-Community established. - Means: Roleplay-elements. * Good loot-items can maybe become more rare, because the value of the spawns gets leveled down. * Increasing action with the roaming Horde-suggestion by I_Guts_I Addons/Ideas for later features ◊ "Clear Debris" You can clear the trash that blocks the road. You will need to use the scrollwheel and a shovel-tool (the one you use to fill sandbags with). It will need 5* minutes of animation to clear it. Inside you can find a bit of loot. Maybe scrap-metal or ammo from a car-wreck, a tank-trap-kit, some sandbags or clothes in a trashpile with a washing-machine. (All the loot is just an example). ◊ Setting up some defense. As an example: with your axe and five piles of wood you can build one meters of a small palisade-wall. It blocks Zeds (vision, passing), bullets and of course players and their vision. (Heavy?) Cars can still crush them, same as they do with fences, bushes and walls. Since it is already possible to build sandsackwalls, fencelines and tanktraps that would become a nice feature. ◊ Building Deerstands. For 10* Wood, players can use their Axe to Build Deerstands as Watchtowers. The Idea comes from here: Tent city and protection ideas. ◊ Building a Well. If the village does not already have one or a pond, people may want to build a well. This can happen with the shovel (sandbackfilling-tool). With this and some hunting people can survive. There can also be more ideas like that. I will quote them, if you write them here. The Devs of Battleye are ignorant! Petition.

Hello my friends, So in the title I have stated that the few devs of Battleye are ignorant and should be replaced. Some of you may think that statement is inflammatory and some of you may agree. Regardless, the statement is true based on their website. I quote: "No one is banned for using non-hack programs (like Fraps, overlays, etc.), picking up or using hacked in-game items, weapons or vehicles, being on a server at the same time as a cheater, or other passive non-cheating activity. Therefore all requests mentioning these things as possible reasons for the global ban are ignored." And to that, I say bullshit. My story started on us 44. Teleported to an undisclosed location with many other players and scripts were executed ON MY CLIENT. I was kicked even though the hackers who had commandeered the server ran the scripts. Regardless I was banned. You don't believe me right? Battleye is Jesus and never wrong is what you say right? Bull. Today as hundreds watched the Machinima DayZ Live stream, while Mr. Rocket was being interviewed, a hacker teleported the player to the infamous thunder dome and all hell broke loose. After the interview and repeatedly being sent to the thunder dome, shibby took the controls and killed a player. After doing so he was teleported by the hacker to Cap Galova where the hacker told HIM to play the game legitly. Seconds later a global ban was issued and it flashed on the screen. The thing that makes this so ridiculous is the fact that they bought the account/key for the STREAM. It was fresh and brand new to my knowledge and was not shibby's personal character. The devs of BE can check it out. The link is this: Start watching at the 1 hour mark. The account was fresh an these guys are too retarded to even know how to script. It would have been obvious if they were. It was streamed to hundreds. One should not be held responsible for another's action. The principles and sheer omnipotence that battleye tries to convey is just ludicrous. Read their ban id. Mine is #b09a. I can't play the damn game. I'm a kid. I don't have much money and I have no reason to lie about a goddamn video game. Please consider what I said and give me some feedback. - Dubba. -

Windows can be broken with thrown items such as grenades or empty can/tins/bottles (which is advised). When you're on low enough blood to be knocked out via Zombie-punch, you should probably get someone to give you a blood transfusion. Otherwise, eat lots of cooked meat (which you loot from players, tents, vehicles or cook yourself) or a million cans of food in order to replenish your blood. -12000 is max blood. -9000 is when Zombies can K.O. you. -5000 is when you will pass out by yourself at random intervals. At this point, you're basically screwed unless you get help. There are many possible reasons why you can't look through the scope of your weapon - though the two main reasons are; 1. Your gun has been lowered, which you can remedy by double-tapping the left Ctrl button. OR 2. You've pressed F, which switches what you can use with the primary mouse button. If you have flares, trash, grenades, chemlights or any other throwable object, you can switch to equip them via the F button. It will give you details at the top right hand side of your screen upon pressing the button. Keep pressing it until it returns to your actual weapon, then you may be able to scope in again. Cardboard boxes are typically full of medical equipment - just use your inventory button to access it, don't worry about the 'rearm at' selection - it isn't implemented into Day Z. Your hatchet, once removed from your toolbelt, becomes your primary weapon. Since you're telling us you already have something with a scope, we can assume that you already have a primary weapon. In order to put your scoped weapon away, you will need 10 free slots in your backpack for the weapon by itself - with extras for the ammo as required. Note that the backpack you spawn with has only 8 slots, meaning it is insufficient to hold any weaponry and if you try to place one inside, it will disappear and never return from the depths of Alpha. To enter a hospital, break the glass on the far left or far right using tin cans or a hatchet. Guns take too long and attract attention. When you regain consciousness, make sure you aren’t bleeding and continue playing. To scope in on a rifle, double click right mouse button. (Same on all weapons) The reload option thing at vehicles, tents and boxes will take the first set of items from it and put it in your inv. (I think) You cannot equip the hatchet while holding a primary weapon (rifle) as the hatchet occupies the primary slot. So either put your primary weapon in your pack (make sure you have room for it and the ammo! Primary guns need 10 slots, and 1 slot for each magazine. Once primary weapon is no longer in the slot, you can remove hatchet from tool belt, once you have reloaded it, all done! To put it back in your tool belt right click and add to tool belt. (The reason for reloading the hatchet is that it was not intended to be used as a weapon, so it has been modified, it is essentially an extremely short range gun) -

i wouldnt mind seeing 2-3 more vehicles per server, but after awhile there would be like a 10:1 ratio of vehicles to players. -
Hello... RGB Fourty7 here. I don't like being called a hacker, or having someone talk about our friend's server this way. Here's a video of how we play. I would not want to play with hacked/cheated/spawned/cloned gear. I think that is pathetic, I am a game dev and want to see games played the way the dev's want them... I mostly use an AKM because it's my favourite weapon in arma. Been playing Arma2 for four years, check my steam account... http://steamcommunity.com/id/Elation-Station/games/?tab=all Also, I don't accuse you of hacking, because you aren't very good at killing people (We stopped a helicopter 5 feet from you and I told you to get in and you shot me with your m4 lmfao, only down to 9000 blood), but you did have 3 g36 subsonic magazines on your body, which is not in the game, and we definately don't have (The only gun I use in arma without dayz is g36cSD, check any of my other youtube vids lmfao). This is how much I hate the hacking in dayz, and what my opinion is on it... If you think we "Spawn vehicles" because we always have a chopper, geuss what, I know how to fly. That's why we don't need to "Spawn vehicles", because we don't loose them. Didn't even loose it to you when we didn't shoot until you shot me (Pilot). Yes we shot your boat down, but that was after we told you to stop and you tried to ram the chopper. Anyway's, I hope you actually read this without raging because I don't know why you think we do anything you are accusing. Thanks bye.

Hello There, Are you thinking about buying a server and supporting this game, well stop, read and think again. I have been a server admin for 3 weeks now and have been following this forum allmost every day, in that period. I've noticed an increased number of threads and appeals about Admin abuse and being banned / Kicked from servers. I've also seen that many of the threads are being spammed either by other people saying they have had the same experience or people saying its your own fault. I have been waiting for a post like this, but seems like nobody wants to step up and face the fact that the future of server admins in this game is only to laugh about. I Will now state the most common rights you get, when you buy a server. List of Features: Start / Stop / Restart Time Changer Configs of server (Change name, motd .....) Kick / Ban Lock Updates Now this seems like allot of features for an admin, but before i even start i will remove "lock" from the list, because this is not allowed and will get your server blacklisted. I do admire this rule and many hosting companys have applied the rule, so that if the system spots a server with password it will be shutdown until, pass removed. Then we have Kick / Ban, this seems like a fairly command for a server admin. But the fact is that if you decide that a user have broken the rules or actually hacked and bans him for it, you will find a post on this forum a few hours later with screenshots that dosent prove anything, other than he is not guilty of his crimes and shall be unbanned. If the player is smart, he will have his friends backing him up, saying they have experienced the same thing. In a few minutes the thread will have 10 posts saying that you abuse your admin rights. In the end it will be you that gets punished, for the fact that a hacker or a player that just wants to make your life hard entered your server. Now there is something called a HIVE LOG, and allmost everything is reported to this but, it dosent show shit other than spawning vehicles and disconnect. You can actually be standing right behind a duplicator, but in the server log it wont state the same. Yes he is getting allot of loots, by glitches, but if it so easy to see then dayz could make a filter and punish them. my 20cents go on the fact, that it looks like he just loots another alice backpack and not duplicates it.. who will win?! Start / STOP / Restart, you can use this feature but yet again. IF a player thinks you restart the server, just because he stole one vehicle, that dosent have to belong to you. He can make a post and wolla, you lose again. Whats left then? Time Changer Configs (Name, version ....) Updates... IS this worth paying 50$ a month?, in my opinion no!. I gotta say this is a great game and have been allot of fun, but the appeals and abuse threads are clearly out of hand..! My 20 cents, I know this thread will get spammed by people who simply dont care but either way my words are written.

@ZDB all respect intended: "Pretty sure that's not going to be the case. I seriously doubt DayZ stand-alone is going to have private servers." Its going to be alot easier if everything just saved to the server pretty much like it does now on ARMA2. I can see how things could change quite a bit. "They would use the power to password their server in order to limit a server to their clan, farm gear and vehicles all day, and then use their server as a private safehouse storage and travel area in order to terrorize other servers." This is happening now, without a passworded server. Unfortunately my clan does not play this game. We have well over 75 members. If, they all played we could all hop on that server as soon as its started and have it locked down easily. I have seen this on other servers. "OP said in his first sentence he wanted a server for himself and his friends. What is that providing me besides the chance to face a large, well-armed militia who have a safe haven to retreat to any time they are wounded, killed or threatened?" The game is setup to offer this now. I wanted a server for myself and my friends to call home, so that we would have a place to play. A place that we could keep "hack-free" and fair. You know well as I do that this game is extremely boring without the "consequences". By consequences, I mean the reality that the game tries to put in place and the limitations of your character in his/her environment. The problem is that these consequences are being forced into the game-play fabric by a set of rules and not software. The software we do have to ensure fair gameplay, rarely works and it does not enforce a lot of the "other" problems. @Vipala "Only way that would work if you were limited to 1 server and thats it. As long as server hopping is possible and you keep your stuff it is a stupid and bad idea" This is the problem. I agree and disagree at the same time! Maybe I'm schitzo? The Hive, is the problem. This is the limitation. @SlaveGirlLucy "As a side note, I don't see why any clan would lock their server to farm gear. I'll take my clan into a highly populated server and farm all night if I want to, anyone who tries to counter it is going to be outnumbered anyway". I agree completely. Seeing as this is probably the main goal of the game, "Farming" or "scavaging". Anyone who does this, wants to do this or has done this has at least had to spend lots of time doing it. Hackers make their shit appear instantly. I do not at all condone this behavior at all but, this is a problem that the hive presents. @Schalart Can I get an Amen AMEN @BonnyBrown "Just figure out how to make a private server with a separate hive if you want to lock it down so bad, there's plenty of resources out there if you want it that bad." This is exactly what I am going to do. Once I have done this, I am going to invite people to play and they will have a "sanctuary" away from all this! Then they can come play on a fair 95% hack free server. No DCing, No Hopping, Almost Never Hacking.(nothing is ever 100%) But it can get close! -
Ive ssen em spawn at alter with that stuff... and without it. But i think its legit, or there is some random arse hacker spawning in wreaked vehicles to legit spawns, around the world... seems unlikly...

never said that i could not find vehicles. just yesterday my brother and i stole a helicopter from a group of people and we have had many other cars/bikes as well. thats not the (only) point here. but i do tend to have more fun hunting for vehicles by encountering zombies or even better players. that does not happen often if i search for vehicles in woods. you are right, IF you find someone driving a car you can take him out. THATS why i suggested to make gas more rare and reduce the number of gasstations. to promote reasonable pvp with good risk/reward, instead of shooting newbs at cherno/elekro. also, you might just suck at driving, saying atvs and bikes get damagesd fast. cause we manage to drive across the whole map without severely damaging our atv/motorbike (as you used those as an example). you can turn an ATV up again if it fell on the side btw if you are not stupid. now let me quote you here: 'So for any good car parts the factory or a major city is the way for those players to go and thats basicly what you are saying for the fuel supply, if parts are hard enough to find then logicaly there already doing what you want rare fuel to do so just go and camp a factory.' i dont understand that sentense. its late here. but i just dont think you make much sense. what i take from the quote is you think that because you crash all your vehicles alot, fuel is rare already. or something? nah, dude. you just dont get the point. it is not about getting carparts. fixing vehicles is fine the way it is imo. its about making fuel rare and decrease number of gasstations so they become hotspots for good risk/reward pvp and also allowing the increase of the total number of vehicles in the game (because of the rarity of gas the total number of DRIVING cars [noone wants everyone on the server to drive around in cars] would stay the same. -
Hello, WHAT21A, I google'd your server name primarily because i was interested in speaking with you. I was the lone guy with the AS50 That raided your camp earlier today, and i just wanted to say i am really impressed with not only how good your players are, at not disconnecting, but how well you actually handles the raid. I managed to shoot one of your men who rolled in on an ATV as i was in the middle of raiding a truck of yours, and then another man raced off into the woods and hid from the fire so i couldn't take him down. I then called a friend into the server for assistance, and as he made his way up, 4 more men poured into the camp, including yourself. I was really impressed as Just as i panic fired, and managed to kill you just before you shot me, You actually said "Nice shooting :)". This impressed me as i have been playing since 1.5 started, and i have experienced my fair share of admins restarting their server when i have raided them, but i have never seen an admin commend me for shooting him, and i really admired that. I also want to commend how tactical you were. As i managed to panic load as many weapons as i could to the truck, i got my friend to drive to the coast with an ATV to keep a lookout, but he got shot by a party of 3 people already closing in on my location. I then proceeded to drive the truck away in panic, Only to notice there was Another patrol of people are circling the camp in another hidden pick-up truck. I then had to pause the engine, hide until they left, and then hope they wouldn't found me. I eventually managed to escape with the loot, and then get it to safety, however for people that would think they are just hording vehicles, they are not, i actually crashed into a fully repaired yet abandoned ATV when driving through Berezino, and i passed a bike. All in all, i would recommend this server to anyone, as i believe it is the pinnacle of all that is correct with DayZ, keep up the good work admins. EDIT: Writing this - a white pickup pulls up and someone pops me ;) Good job, shame we already hid the stuff haha. EDIT 2: About to press post when you drove up ;) Anyway i have to leave for the night, good job.

55 is happening to people in vehicles, it could be related to changes made to prevent desync whilst in vehicles. BIS should be aware of it, but you can always check the bug reports forum and see if there is an existing post. The desync fix will most likely also be working whilst not in a vehicle, so it is reasonable to assume that you can get it whilst out of a vehicle.
