increase the number of vehicles and make (most) not required to be (fully) repaired. why on earth are all vehicles damaged, empty and without wheels...?! I would also consider cars leave tracks offroad, but I think it's too much for a mod.

We CAN'T rollback our servers to get vehicles back. How many times must we say this? -
When you die, you die... get over it and start again... but yeah when you have high tier weapons, a few vehicles then there really aint much else to do apart from hunt and set ambushes.. keeps things exciting and no 2 firefights are ever the same :)

Tents / Vehicles disappeared after the restart at DE 196

Just before the restart (20:00 CET) every vehicle we had were in front of our noses and after the restart they were gone. Then we traveled to enemy tent base nearby us and every tent from there was gone as well. There was 4 tents. So I'd say it's pretty certain the server ate them. Perhaps restarting the server would bring them back? DE 196 server admins if you read this please give it a try. Very frustrating to lose it all, because of this. Thanks. -
explosives in Vehicles should go off when the vehicle blows up, thus making it even more dangerous driving a vehicle.

The server code is over 1000 i think, then will vehicles not spwan.

Repairable vehicles should be more common, however parts should have to be cross-salvaged, and fuel should be much more rare. -
We have had our server over 2 weeks now and the only thing to spawn is a bike!!! WTF are our vehicles and why arent they spawning? I have read posts of new servers getting set up and all the vehicles are at their spawn points.

Hunting abilitys * New animals: eagle, crow, deer, Owl ( sounding in forest at night & dawn) frogs ( a change of frogs close to lakes...some eatable and some not...3 different ones...one with a little poison, other gives some small health, can b e eaten raw) frogs sounds during dawn, and rain. ( more frog spawn when raining) snake ( dont know where...but it can bit you...medical treatment allready existing should be sufficient, but vision will be blurred for a short time. * the thing to make animal noises with so I can lure deers closer to me. Camo possibility to plant bushes ( or camo bushes) so it would possible to hide tents or myself. * mobile small Gasoline kitchen (makes less smoke appear perhaps) * fishing gear: Fishnet: can be placed close to lake ( a small percentage of possibility of spawning fish, perhaps 20% chance per day) Classic fishing: 10% fishchance per 10minutes, not sure) http://perlbal.hi-pi...akom-korken.jpg Gear: * Headlamp * Hunting boots ( some bit less noiser than regular) * Rainwear jacket ( dont get cold during rain) * Sleeping bag with very few slots Vehicles (sort of ) Canoe ( possible for 2-4 people in it. should take up same amount of slots as tent or one more) Others: Flashlights will need batteries, with a sort of indicator like fuel has ( same goes for headlamps).

I haven't been lucky enough to test this theory since 1.7.5 came out, but before it did I'd saved two ATVs and a V3S (or whatever the non-Ural 3axle truck is). After the saves, the server had a scheduled restart. Came back in, they were gone. 8 hours later, another scheduled restart (my regular server has 3 scheduled restarts daily), and THE VEHICLES WERE BACK. I asked the server admins on their forums about it and they said that vehicles will despawn after a restart, saved or not, but after a second restart, all saved vehicles will spawn back in where they were saved, and be permanently available (until moved, resaved, destroyed, stolen, etc). Not sure how reliable this information is, but I did witness our vehicles disappearing after the first restart, and then reappearing after a second restart. Who knows :blush:

Hahaha, I guess I could see that. Clans get mad at this one guy tearing them up, and start hacking. Please, come play on our server - I promise, we don't do that. |UCC| have been playing on our server for the past couple days (server is brand new as of Sunday), and they tore us up at first. They killed me and and Qlimax and then took all our stuff up Northeast (we found their camp later near Olsha, which is near where we crashed some vehicles). We like to think we got a stab back at them - but legitimately. Come tear us up if you want, we welcome the competition :D As it is, these 3 guys in this topic killed us on our main toons so we lost most of our stuff. We're still regrouping, but if you get on later tonight, maybe we'll have something tasty for you to steal :P EDIT: Know I said I was going to stop posting in this topic ... guess I couldn't resist, was nice to someone actually being friendly in this thread ;D -

I think it would be cool to have a few of these dotted around the maps, they would probably be marked targets where every bandit on the map would head out to for kills... but if enough players were defending it i think it could make things interesting... or to even the odds actually make it available to build your own anywhere on the map like a tent, maybe after collecting the parts as you would with vehicles?? i know if i was actually irl surviving i would head out to the woods and build one myself well hidden not far from a water supply in the trees, not trying to hold up looking over my shoulder in a ruins, or in a building sleeping with one eye open. What do you guys think??? -
We have caught you teleporting on US 153. That is why you have been banned. I'll ask my head admin see if we can dig up any evidence and if we don't have any on our side we'll un ban you from the server. Last night we had tons of hackers in the server teleporting in vehicles on top of our friends and teleporting on top of another player. We may have accidentally banned you from the ban wave last night but it could be other evidence that we have gathered that goes against you. Please be patient as finding evidence takes some time up to 24 - 48 hours. I'm sure your vehicle you was looting is still up there I won't have anybody touch it that I know. And also no there is no such thing as a admin vehicle on our server. If somebody takes our vehicle in front of us we do not abuse and kick the person that takes our vehicle we let it be. But we do not tolerate hackers that tend to teleport to us and start shooting at us I know for certain we have video/photo evidence of them. We do have a secret weapon program on our side that is logging most of the suspicious activity. We can track almost everything.

I have noticed that all the hacked vehicles respawn with the exact same things in them. I don't think in this case it was admin abuse. I have my own serer and have never hit the restart map button. Now if you steal my stuff I will search every grid until i find you and gut you like a fish :D . But seriously it's part of the game to lose stuff. -

You had horded 8 out of the usual 11 vehicles on a server and you try to speak as though your guild tries to make it fair and even for your server? You have a very twisted idea of fair. Heres an idea, Use 2 vehicles, one larger and a smaller town runner and leave the rest for the remainder of your server population and stop banning people for raiding and destroying your camp. As stated by the others, your actions and statements are childish and you do not deserve to be an admin. -

What is cheating, here is a list of cheating activity. 1. dupping gear by droping and disconnecting 2. disconnecting in PvP 3. disconnecting to despawn zombies. 4. disconnecting to refresh your ammo 5. using aka "scripts" on a server to spawn vehicles, gear, and things that was not intended for DayZ mod. other cheating activites that happen against you. 1. Logging in and take a few step and everyone die instantly on the server. 2. Being teleport to a bandit. 3. Legs breaking for no reason. 4. Getting you inventory stripped when you log into a server. All of these things make this game impossible to play, and people lose interest in a game that could be allot of fun if played legit. Sad people lose interest in the mod after a week or two. Bugs that make it difficult to play. 1. getting disconntect when in a vehicle and logging back in to have the vehicle kill you. 2. Screen tearing making it impossible to see. This started for me since 1.7.3 patch. 3. dieing and spawning inside a buildings in stary Sobar and can't get out.and since 1.7.4 you can kill your self to restart. 4. opening a door that swings and kills you. 5. Trying to find a game you don't spend 20 minutes looking at "LOADING". 6. Being disconnected because you brother joined the server, because you share the same interent connection. Theses are just a few I personally encountered while playing the game. -

Those are cool suggestions. Here are mine: Less emphasis on military: Make the clothes, weapons, vehicles and locations a lot more civilian, and stuff like cammo, sniper rifles and jeeps into a rare reward. Especially night vision. More "medical" sim: I would like to see more wound variety just for the sake of team building, and also better ability to disable zombies with careful shooting. More world alteration: Barricades and barbed wire are cool. I would also love to see restoring power, clearing zombies (for a while) and setting up bases. -

Not sure if I agree with these exactly. Maybe just make the spawns more infested with the infected? I do like the idea of making the game more difficult though (which this would help to accomplish). I like fuel being a currency, but more vehicles would mean that it would be much easier to get one. At their current rate they are difficult to find, which makes them more coveted. If everyone had a car it wouldn't be much of an Apocalypse in my mind. Isn't that a long way off? If it means waiting even longer for this game then I have to say a heartily disagree. Arma2 is nice, it will do the trick for now imho. -

My approach to Stary Tents & NWAF: In general, I avoid going there. I'd rather spend the time looking for crash sites (particularly if the server restarted recently) and the edge of the map looking for tents. You'll find much better gear and vehicles in camps but it does take time and patience. But if I go to loot I follow this approach: a ) Go on a moonlit night: so much easier to avoid avoid zombies. If completely dark, use RED chem-lights. b ) Bring a tent & set it up some place out of the way and well hidden about 500-1000m away from those locations c ) put all the stuff you are not willing to lose into the tent. Usually I just keep my handgun, bandages, 1 food/water, morphine. d ) Move within 200m and spend a few min scoping for other players. Check the player list. e ) If you see a player, kill him if possible. Otherwise, move as fast as possible through your objectives keeping best cover in mind. The vast majority of times I have died at the airfield has been inside the barracks because i took too long. f ) leave as fast as possible to the woods, make sure you are not followed, go back to the tent. -
so if i happen to have 3 vehicles on the airfield, im a hacker? i think we once had a bus and a bike there at the same time, is that close enough? Of course it depends on the terrain/vegetation. if both go prone right on the airfield they will NOT be hidden. Sometimes... common sense...

Everyone has likely heard the news about the stand alone game. What kind of improvements/changes would you like to see? I know there is already a suggestion thread, I just felt like posting this kind of stuff in there would be off topic since it pertains to the standalone game and not the mod. I'm sure some of this stuff has all ready been suggested for the mod, and may already be on the white board for coming changes. Moderators, please forgive me if that is the case. I will continuously update this post with new suggestions so check back every once in a while! Who knows, some of this stuff might actually make it into the game. A few ground rules we should all agree on before we begin: -Search the suggestions (or quick glance at the tl;dr) to see if your suggestion is all ready in. -Leave the "no hackers", "fix bugs", "Arma3 Engine", blah blah out and try to post unique things that you would like to see. -Lets assume that we all want more weapons, bigger/more maps, more vehicles, etc. All posts shouting MOAR! Weill be ignored. -Anyone who suggests making the game "less difficult" will not only be ridiculed, but beaten up and have their beans taken. -When you post a suggestion,post some description. Any post like "I want turtles, that would be cool" will be ignored. -I try to respond directly to everyone (everyone who contributes) but sometimes I'm sure I miss some of you. Tell me if I do! Suggestions Melee Weapons Guns Gear Other Equipment The World Terrain and the Elements Bases and Command Centers The Ruins of Civilization The Inhabitants Movement Life and Death The Infected Other The Vehicles Other The Game tl;dr RPG Elements EDIT: Many, many changes have been made to the OP. Some of the key points of debate are whether or not Classes, Skills, and Perks have their place in DayZ. Also, I would like to point out that I snuck another suggestion of my own in there. It is under "The Equipment" > "Guns" > "A Realistic Ammo System". Please read it, let me know what you think, and we will either improve on it, or take it completely out. Thanks! Leveling does not suit a game like DayZ. Its a way to represent progress in a linear, descriptive way. DayZ does not need leveling. It needs to expand on what it already has. More statistics. Zombies Killed, Headshots, Murders. These are all statistics, and we need more. I like seeing my records. Priority should be with 'Total Time Survived' and this should only count when player is active ingame. You should be able to view your current and best character records, best based on the above ^. Then, for both these you should be able to view everything. Kills with specific weps, cows slaughtered, vehicles repaired, total meters travelled, helicopters found etc etc. And finally. A leaderboard for all.
