Well known YouTuber Seananners knowingly takes and uses spawned in hacked weapons and vehicles (eg chopper) in his recent DayZ video:

Are there are a finite number of vehicles on a server? I'm with a private server, so we know how many there are; 7. We have a bus, traktor, GAZ, V3S, Pickup truck and 2 S1203's. But now for a few days, after multiple server restarts, we haven't found one vehicle. No single car, heli, watercraft, whatever. Thanks for the info.

Look in the woods on the edges of the map, people usually set up camps there and hide vehicles. Pobeda Dam is a favourite for camps.

so server restarted and took along with it all the vehicles we took and gear...

I'm Frijoles Bandito from the server, confirming that this just happened. I stepped away from my computer for a good 15 minutes to eat and I come back to being banned from the server. This is ridiculous, I have never hacked on the server nor do I even know how to acquire these hacks. I'm not even upset about being banned, I'm upset about the time I have spent playing on this server getting vehicles and now all that work is gone in the blink of an eye. The thing that upsets me the most is that these admins make their decisions solely on "gut-feeling" and chat telling them. This is outrageous, anyone who does not like somebody can just say they were hacking just to get them banned. "Gut-feelings" shouldn't be used either. If you want to ban somebody at least have some solid evidence.

What I am saying is the virtual contents of a server (vehicles etc) are not saved server-side. That is handled and stored on the central database.

In our case the admin of de 1564 locked the server after we killed him and he plays alone to find our Vehicles (its pretty long story)...

Ah ok i thought i readed something about special serversettings that only allow vehicles with a a specific Id or something like that to spawn and only the atv and the bicycle can spawn with these settings. I hope the disappearing will be fixed with 1.7.3... Maybe we will meet ingame :D Btw thank you for the fast answer :)

Ill go over the logs trevor and cameron, I saw you guys playing in the server and on 2 separate occasions you logged in and went in a straight line directly to other players and killed them or went directly to vehicles from spawning. This pattern usually indicates that people are using vehicle/player detect scripts so i ban when i see it happen more than once per session. I review the logs again and take a better look, you werent teleporting and usually those go hand in hand so i may have jumped the gun (lots of hacker lately and the live action dayz guys live on our server so its getting popular). Me and my team of three were driving in our Old Hatchback back to our camp, and I notice one of my mates getting banned. Next thing I know, I'm banned too. We weren't hacking, cheating, or scripting. I suspect it was an admin by the name of TonyP because we broke his legs, got out, and executed him the day before. We've been accused of hacking before because we had Ghillie suits and 2 vehicles. We were cruising along the coastline to our camp and without a warning or anything, banned. Can't really post evidence because well, we weren't doing anything worthy of fraps, and the only thing it said was that I was banned. If we can get unbanned that would be great. Our ingame names were Vilapickle and Frijoles Bandito. EDIT: My friend logged out before he got banned, and the admin is indeed TonyP. He was mad that we killed him, and started making stories that we were using Hacked Weapons and Teleporting. Friend logged in under a different name so the admin wouldn't ban him. This is the reason the admin banned us. TonyP - "We made a vote based on gut-feeling and the chat logs, and from that we banned them." EDIT: Most likely not admin abuse, just admins who dislike having evidence before banning.

I agree, just adding more vehicles won't do much. I think it needs a complete overhaul. Maybe making the storage pretty much non existent would help. Perhaps just enough room for a primary and a few mags.

Lol its funney how people bash good ideas like this on these forums. They definetly are a part of the group of people that are causing the problem. If they change this their experienced of this game "how it should be" gets ruined. I will vote for the OP's idea just cause it will mess up all those players game experiences and they actually can go to sleep at 5 am in the morning when a server resets and start searching for their vehicles. These people should stop posting untill they have something worthwhile to say. So yes i support this and not because i never found a vehicle (stole them, found them, lost them). Something is messed up with this system. The way it is now you can stash more gear in a vehicle then a tent while a vehicle is for transport and a tent is for stashing. Messed up so ye change that. Random vehicle spawns will definetly give a wow effect if you do find one. Now you just search the preset locations and voila got 1 again. Car parts are definetly a joke. I find them more then cans of beans. If one of my vehicles get broken i have them fixed in no time. Our team just splits up go to a few locations and an hour later we are on our way. More variety of stats to vehicles would be great. Now bigger is better due to more storage.

This is a bug. NOT a hack. It has to do with vehicles and I am not sure what the fix is but there are a ton of post about this. I would use search here on the forums and even google maybe.

The vehicle system is badly designed, but I don't think adding more vehicles will necessarily solve the problem. Simply making it harder for clans/admins to locate those vehicles by spreading them out similar to helicopter crash sites will allow for a more even distribution of vehicles, as I've said in earlier posts.

Was just on ca79 in elektro and heard multiple explosions/gun shots by the church and fire station. Having picked up a few grenades the night before on the same server I was not to alarmed.....so after scouting out the town and seeing several zombies argoing someone around the fire station, I decide to move in closer. I made it through the school/supermarket/hospital with out a scratch just a few bodies scattered here and there. I made my way to the church , in the doorway lay a body and across the street two more bodies. Looked like a pretty good gun fight just broke out before i got there. the guy had an ak74u but with a grey clip ? so i studied the body and his name was robert or robby ect cannot exactly remember. So i closed the door to see if he had any suspicious gear, but nothing out of the norm except his od looking ak74u. *no it was not the akm* As I'm in the church I hear the sound of a horn and very quietly someone talking over the mic........ THEN BOOM. I opened the door and looked around I noticed two charred up vehicles outside of the fire station, Looked like the white pickup and a black suv I have only seen from videos. as I looked farther down the road leading to the beach there was the biggest mob of zombies I have EVER SEEN IN THIS GAME. I ran my ass inside the fire station to see if anyone else was taking shelter......There was a guy in the stair well just spinning around.....Freaked me right out and I shot him dead on the spot. I walked up the tower only to argo that massive mob my way. As i run up the stairs there was a body on every level except the top where i hid out until the zombies wandered off.....It got really quiet and freaky so after a few moments of almost breaking out into a heart attack I logged off and made my dinner. So if anyone was on around 5pm today and you were there for the action... Can you fill me in on what exactly happened. *note I was so sure a hacker was about to instant kill me at any moment so I really did not care if I was killed, just was really curious on what just had unfolded* Sorry no pictures I didn't even bother turning on fraps I couldn't have been bothered with all same hack attacks coming every few moments, no point in making more videos and wasting a gig a minuet on that bs.

Better protection against hackers. Removal of Graphical glitches. These are the only things that make me die. So they must die as well. Im tired of buildings falling on me, vehicles teleporting, automatic crossbows, thunder dome, being tossed to the sky and falling back down. All in agreement say Fuck Hackers.

I find the vehicle system to be horribly designed. They are non existent for pretty much anyone but clans and admins. In two weeks, I've found a bus and pretty much just use it for storage as it's a pain in the ass to drive around with all the roads being blocked in and around towns. I found an ATV but it was flipped on it's side and apparently my character is not strong enough to push it back over. I found one truck and one chopper in their spawn locations but the server disappeared. Now, I've only seen three vehicles being driven and two of them were on my first day. The third was a chopper flying over head. I'm not asking for grand theft auto type vehicle numbers. But the numbers now are ridiculously low.

I hate to break it to ya but jumping to servers to raid a camp is a bannable offense regardless if you or another of your group members jumps servers to find the camp. You just admitted to server hopping. You don't have to log in to 100 servers a day to be a server hopper. So, your buddy was server hopping and logged in on the hill our camp was on. Saw it was there. Called all of you onto our server. You took all the vehicles and probably drove them back to your camp location which is on a different server. Changed servers taking the gear from the vehicles with you and then blew up the vehicles seein as you don't need them anymore?

What I do is I get all the other clans vehicles and just drive them into the ocean

Alright so I am some what new to the DayZ forums... However I would like to see modding or add-ons be a part of both the Standalone version of DayZ. More importantly the Steam workshop or something similar with a "Mod Marketplace" where the best mods are able to be sold at a very low price. Less than a few dollars or something like that. I know that Team fortress 2 has done this to great success in the past and is still doing it with just hats, weapons, and custom skins. Day Z would be able to foster allot of great community driven talent and make a better game. Examples being - - Custom Maps - New Weapons - New Drugs - New Zombie Skins - New Vehicles Once again this is just a thought/suggestion. :)
