So im at my camp almost off the map in the middle of BFE and i did a server reboot. All of a sudden POOF there is an ATV there at the camp. Now the strangest thing is not only did it spawn in middle of nowhere but its spawned right in the middle of my camp like it was a gift from rocket or something. One thing to note is that my server that is brand new and hasent even been spawning vehicles that save. The ones that have spawned havent been at the typical spawn points and dont end up saving after the next reboot. Just thought it was strange to happen anyone else see things like this occur?

...and a few more undocumented changes... [FIX] Coastal Loading: Have increased the frequency of random coastal spawns for existing characters from once in a great while to every other login or so. [FIX] Zombies now ignore players sprinting around them within a 10m meter radius when not in direct line of sight, but will now aggro from 250m out if players are within line of sight even if the player is prone and making no noise. [FIX] Loading Times: Have found the issue that allowed players to load into the game within five minutes; should now take 10-15 minutes as originally intended. [NEW] Empty Inventory: When randomly loading existing characters on the coast, the loading algorithm now also has a random chance to load existing characters with a completely empty inventory. This should balance out tents and vehicles that don't save / or delete items on server restarts. [NEW] Wildlife Apparitions: Dead wildlife from past DayZ gaming sessions will taunt players by re-enacting their gruesome deaths only to disappear as players approach.

Found An SUV Outside Elektro, Will I get Banned?

Hacked vehicles despawn on server reset I believe though. Enjoy for as long as it lasts. -
Found An SUV Outside Elektro, Will I get Banned?
nano27 replied to OPBullets's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I am a little confused now. I found a/an UAZ in Cherno, but whenever I ran into stuff it would take and keep damage. According to my friends, (who are more experienced than I am) hacked vehicles repair themselves when you exit and reenter them. I shouldn't be in danger of being banned just because I found a vehicle in a city, right? I mean... someone could have left it there to loot a building. -
Is there a trick to finding crashed helicopters?
Disgraced replied to XOLiD's topic in New Player Discussion
I had trouble for a long time. The first thing that helped me was finding a vehicle. I could cover more ground, faster. I find it difficult enough, though, to find vehicles on a lot of servers. In any case, open fields near the center of the map are the place to be. Ive seen one pretty far up north east, but mostly around Vybor and the NW Airfield. In addition, they spawn on server restarts, so if your server doesnt restart regularly, or if there are people essentially waiting for those restarts to go hunting, your chances will worsen. I regard these as rudimentary tips. I'm sure you will get better advice from those more successful. -
Found An SUV Outside Elektro, Will I get Banned?
Markedgun replied to OPBullets's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
No. Hacked vehicles are safe to drive, but don't go around killing people or something like that. I would much rather destroy it in some way. NOW if there is a hacked gun inside of it I would just drive it into the ocean, and avoid the gun like the plague. @iamblazelflack You CAN get banned for carrying a illegal weapon, say like a golden AK or RPG. -
Can spend several hours gathering gear, setting up base camps, finding and repairing vehicles, and running around the map, only to get killed by an invisible/teleporting/god-mode hacker, and having all our tents run over by a vehicle either hacked in or stolen from our base, which is then blown up with satchels.

7 vehicles on a server, can be any vehicle, and just so you know, hacked helicopter.

Looking for information about DE 300
[email protected] posted a topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Im currently looking for any information about DE 300. I'm a regular player on this server and my camp and vehicles are there. But for two days now the server is unavailable so it would be great if anyone in this forum could tell me the status of this server. -
I checked the forums and saw a thread about US 401. Being myself i thought i'd check it out, half way through my mission I saw new posts from the admins which had me believe that the server report wasn't legit and the server wasn't admin abusing/cheating. Well BOY OH BOY WAS I WRONG! Approximately 1 hour ago I TheMadBomba launched a raid against a fortified position on US 401 in Polana Factory. It was insane the ammount of fortifications they had there I crawled all around the outside of the camp and inside of it. If I was to make a rough estimate of the number of fortifications (inside and out as I managed to get inside) Fortifications: 300 sandbags minimum 400 tank traps minimum 500 barb wires minimum (they were stacked 3-4 thick in most places) I must commend these guys that getting into the inside of that base without blowing anything up was extremely hard, It was like a maze inside and out. I tried getting in by entering through the Ural that was blocked in and then trying to get out of the passenger seat on the other side, sadly I didn't realise there was fortifications on the passenger side aswell but I luckily managed to get in that way just by pure luck, 9/10 times i'd have broken my leg from it. Inside your base I had to go up 1 set of stairs and down the other in order to get to the tent camp that you had set up inside the factory. There was about 40 tents all in all, Checking them I started to think that they were legit tents and they'd only duped the fortifications, that was until I found a tent with 40 gillie suits and then another tent nearby with 50 satchel charges. It was at this point that I attempted to sneak out the back to satchel charge the last of their vehicles as they were definitely the hardest to get to. It was at this point I came under fire and decided to detonate the 20 satchel charges i'd placed all around, somehow my attacker died but I was left standing with 6000 health, a broken leg and alot of fractures. I then decided it was impossible to get to all of the other vechicles without blowing up some other things so it was at this point that I started blowing up the outside factory wall (which also had alot of fortifications around it meaning it was still hard to blow up the right part of the wall. I saw that the Ural had somehow been shielded from one of my earlier satchel charges by the sheer ammount of fortifications around it and then i went to blow that up. All in all I destroyed: 2 tractors 1 ATV 1 Pedal bike 1 Ural 1 bus 1 flatbed and a few other vehicles. Enjoy your stay in this game US 401, feel free to check the ingame logs as it'll clearly show I walked to your base all the way from Pridorokdy and didn't server hope to get inside My recomendation: Stop duping items (I would have screenshotted the sheer ammount of fortifications if that attacker hadn't interupted me mid mission). And play the game properly. I'll be back if I hear you're all up to your old tricks ;)

Congratulations on attacking a base on an empty server that had no defenders? Far as the duping, again I can't claim ignorance, shit constantly respawns in the tents on server resets an people use it. What do you want us to do? Bury it all? Keep a hand written inventory of our tents so we can identify when a tent respawns its contents and tell everyone in the clan that the tent should not be used? it just keeps coming back. But we do supply runs every night, I've run a lot of supply ops with our group. The guys are on Teamspeak right now organizing a resupply run to re-coup our losses, so well done Shaun of the Bread, for metagaming our base and posting its location publically so TheMadBomba and everyone else just like him can fuck it over and make the game less fun for the two clans that play on our server together. I didn't deny that some of the fortifications might be duped, but you using that as a justification to destroy all our vehicles which we definitely legitimately acquired and blowing out our entire base is pretty damn weak. Grief play isn't against the rules though.

So ive been playing for about a month and a half. Managed to have a few vehicles and get some pretty good gear. DMR, guille suits and some other fun gear. One thing i have never experienced is a survivor who doesnt just kill me. Of the 2-3 dozen lives ive played..every time i just get sniped or shotgun to the face. Its just not the experience i was looking for. Even with this humanity concept that just came out it isnt going to make it better. People with high humanity will be FORCED to kill the "bandits" so it just creates an even more auto-kill type of gameplay. Ill be back once the stand alone version comes out but untill then ill retire from this mod. Great concept, but the community chooses to just kill everything...

1.7.2.5 Tents and Vehicle Inventories not saving.
Stuart (DayZ) replied to NocturnalS1n's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Same thing here. Every time the Server restarts, all vehicles and tents are reset (empty and non-repaired) back to their orginal spawn points. Server Version: Dayz: 1.7.2.5 Hive: 0.7.3 Arma Patch: 95883 and in the old Version ( 1.7.2.4. , 0.7.2 ) aswell. -
(Rocket) Why are we logging in on the coast
Hysterics replied to Siggy (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Like if you're on your home server with your tents and vehicles or whatever, and all of a sudden a hacker or three log in, it happens, are you just supposed to log out and stay offline until the fucking hackers have had their fun? Sorry but I choose to go play on another server for awhile until the hackers are gone, but now if you do that, you're teleported to the fucking coast. Sweet. Do the devolopers even realize how fucking rampant hacking is? The best part is, shit like this will just encourage the less patient of us to get those hacks just to teleport around and bypass this stupid shit. This game has terrible issues with progression. You can't really rely on tents or vehicles, and that's not even considering other players finding them, they're just incredibly unreliable with the way the servers work... So it's really hard to simulate past the first few days of survival imo. You can only keep so many things on you securely, and there's no way to progress past that point with a camp because the game just doesn't work properly. So now, people trying to cling to their progression, get randomly fucking teleported halfway across the map directly into the line of snipers. Sorry but this is completely fucking stupid. It makes trying to progress feel fucking pointless, and just makes this feel like a Pvp circle jerk deathmatch game. -

DayZ Veterans - UK Based Organisation for Mature Adult Gamers - now recruiting
IMF2000 (DayZ) replied to IMF2000 (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
We are trying different things at present. We have gone from having bases with every vehicle in the game, to running with no vehicles and attempting to improve our bush craft and capabilities against enemy combatants on the server. Long term, a good group of people who enjoy playing together, enjoy structured team play and are able to help other groups out in sticky situations. Veterans of the game basically. -
(Rocket) Why are we logging in on the coast
Hysterics replied to Siggy (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I can understand them wanting to fix server hopping, it's a legitimate issue... But right now, with the way the game is, there are way to many legitimate reasons to leave a server as many people have pointed out. I've been teleported in game by hackers more than once. I've come upon huge stashes of weapons clearly spawned by hackers. I've seen hackers spawn vehicles, and I've been told that they're not even spawning them, they're teleporting the vehicle from somewhere else on the map, Making it that much harder for legitimate players to find vehicles. I mean the game is hard enough to progress in for most people, you shouldn't get teleported away from tents, vehicles, or any other things you have saved / setup on your server. This is just complete bs... I really enjoy the core of this game, but these patches should be fixing things, not making them worse... -
Keep spawning on the coast.
boredtotears replied to Furry_PawstarZ's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I'm having this issue as well. It really sucks, my tents and vehicles are up north, I have to spend all my time running the map so I can 'save' them. -
Script suites aren't currently updated to work with it. Been some amusing discussion on a site I follow to see what the tangos are up to and seems they can't even spawn vehicles at the moment without literally sacrificing a goat (don't ask me how occult rituals come into it). We've had a really nice day on our server. Fairly good population and absolutely zero hacks the entire day.

A buddy and I have been playing Arma II/DayZ since the beginning. We've gotten pretty experienced. Welcome to the DayZ hitman service. Name a player, their server, and their approximate location. We'll do our best to take them out. We take on entire clans as well, however the approximate locations are needed. Also, the character must be online. We are NOT hackers, just experienced enough to have a high success rate in PvP. Screenshots of the kill/kills will be posted in this thread. Loot will be left on the corpse and coordinates will be given to the client upon request. If this is not specified, bodies will be hidden and vehicles destroyed or claimed by us.

There's all this complaint about cheaters and hackers. But what about the Admins abusing there ability to reset a server? I can not count on my fingers the amount of times servers gets reset for no reason. Right at the moment either i or my friend shoots a server related person. Moments server restarts without warning: - Shoot a player that is related to the server. - Steal a vehicle. - Shoot people in vehicle. - Drive off with vehicle. Effects: - Loss All gear. - Friends gear. - Newly obtained gear. - Own Vehicles. - Captured Vehicles. - Tents. - Chance of killing someone. - Feel free to add more to this list. And all this applies to ALL the people that are in the current server being forced to Reset. How is this not worse then cheaters? How is this not a priority. In most occations it happends when i shoot a camping ghillie dude thats related to server owner. This is just sick really. i think its worse then cheaters to be honest. Because the admins are the people who are supposed to make it playable and keep the game fair. Why i post this in Suggestion? Because admins should not be able to reset a server without an automatic countdown (cooldown). If they in any case DO reset servers "the hard way" then they should be blacklisted after a set ammount of times they do that. Why punish players for reconnecting but not admins for abusing there server reset button? Ive been in 60 player public servers where the server resets 3 times in a row after seeing the same player getting shot. i cant believe what i see. When you are in a server and you see the timeout message. Look at who got killed. Because kills dont happen that much in DayZ. And timeouts seem to happen allot right after a kill gets made. or a vehicle gets stolen. Look at the Server report forum. imagine the ammount of people who actually bother to make an account and go post on the forum what happend. then imagine how many of those actually tape whats going on. Now take that in account and see the ammount of threads in the server report forum. that just concludes that it happends in insane amounts. and that for a game where resets and crashes influence the game and the characters gear ALLOT. its sad. Vote for forced timer on server reboots and tracking of hard restart by manual resetting. The whole forum server report and letting people tape that they get disconnected is a total unlogical way of doing this and does not really show allot of support from the hive side. Its such a long way around of catching these admins. As they spoil the game completely for everyone with full servers. Hive should track the way servers are being reset. And if they already do that. Then why is this data not being used? Gp

So I was teleported, last night, to the roof of a building in the NW airfield, along with everyone else on the server, which turned into a bloodbath for everyone who didn't logout in time... but now that's not an option to prevent people from Alt+F4ing out of combat. Great. How about taking these administrator functions away in this mod? There's no reason to have controls like that, so why not disable them? I won't be playing again until there's some fixes for this, and I won't be buying any Arma 3 : DayZ either unless I'm sure this is taken care of. Looking through the server complains forum, I see this isn't an isolated or even rare incident. There were 20+ people on my server last night who were all teleported to their deaths, and not one of them posted here about it, so I can only assume this is happening pretty damn frequently. This is the #1 issue, not alt+f4ing out of combat or zombie vision or rarity of vehicles.

Can zombies destroy cars?
DEOVONTAY MCSLANGA replied to Crowbar (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
Good to see no one has responded accurately to this yet. Most cars zombies will not attack. They will not attack it if the engine is off. They will not attack it if the engine is on. This includes ALL closed-top vehicles, such as the UAZ, Ural, Bus, Hatachback, Blue Van, etc. If it is a CAR WITH A CLOSED TOP THE ZOMBIES WILL NOT ATTACK IT. EVER. I have confirmed this numerous times. Zombies however WILL attack most open top vehicles, such as the motorcycle, bicycle, and ATV. As of 1.7.2.5 ALL closed top vehicles DO NOT spawn zombies when you approach a building, even if you completely stop and wait for a while. This makes it easy to tell if someone is in town, as zombies will only spawn in if they are on foot. In 1.7.2.3 zombies would spawn in if you were riding an open-top vehicles, such as the ATV. Last I checked, this has been corrected and even bicycles no longer spawn in zombies when you approach a building riding them. This could also indicate that zombies no longer attack you when riding these vehicles either, but it has yet to be confirmed. -
Since tents and vehicles have been fubar since the beginning I can only assume they can't be fixed. None of the "fixes" have ever worked. I suppose we will have to think of it as a feature and not a bug.
