LF Clan, Group, or a smart Lonewolf to run with

Hey guys, just posting this here to tell you that im looking for a clan ,group, or even a 2-3 man team to roll with. My irl friends stopped playin and i dont like working without a sqaud. im very good at dayz and know almost everything about it. i work well in sqauds and i have all the voice comm programs available. I am 18 years old, very mature when it matters, and i have a wide range of playtimes. my timezone is UTC/GMT-6 and usually i play anywhere from 11am-11pm in that range but not nonstop. My roles consist of: Sniper, Rilfe Marksman, Infiltrator, and Heavy Fire Suppresor, and im a great navigator. I have quite a bit of gear stashed away at many locations i will not reveal, so its easy for me to gear up fast, but i can work with any peice(s) of gear to get the job done. I am also very mobile, as i have soem vehicles as well, where i can drive to a location and load into a new server if need be for raids and meet ups. I have more of a bandit outlook on the game, but i dont shoot unarmed players. I am very cautious though. To be clear when I said the average server size is 50 players, what I meant was "50 is the maximum players the server will allow". Yes there are bigger and smaller servers but 50 is the number i see most. Furthermore your math shows an average of 69 players per server. (even though that's nowhere near close to accurate) So do you think think maybe JUST MAYBE that one of those other people got to the fresh spawn vehicle before you? Have you even considered that if you find 1 vehicle the chances of finding more goes up by leaps and bounds? Think about it .. you want to check a vehicle spawn, so you head to where it spawns. It's not there because random player A got there first and fixed it up. You then decide that you want to check the nearest spawn to the one you are at, BUT maybe random player A has the same thought and gets there first again because he has the first vehicle. If random player A has a friend than they together fix it up together and drive off with both vehicles while you get there late again and boohoo about the "lack of vehicles". Now lets consider that Rocket adds another 2, 5 or even 30 vehicles. Your chances of finding them go up slightly but more likely is the fact that you get to those spawns late, as well, and the people who already had vehicles simply have more. Crying about a lack of vehicles doesn't put vehicles in your hands. Searching does. Please reread the last thing I typed in my first post .. hell I'll copypasta it for you so you don't need to search. "Also remember that vehicles have a CHANCE to spawn. That means they have a higher chance to NOT spawn." Try not to forget that Day Z is a survival game, not a drive and shoot like GTA or a racing game like Need for Speed. Vehicles are prized possessions of people who earned them either by fixing them the hard way or stealing them from people that fixed them the hard way. Crying won't get you any wheels and it sure as hell won't get you any beans from me. So like I said earlier, vehicle count is fine. Whiner count is a little high though. No Beans for you.

100% right, I've been trying to put this point of view across for ages. Please have some beans really nice to see an intelligent analysis of the situation. As pointed out the current bugs compound the problems tenfold. Tents being immortal item factories primarily. Having some issues with tents/vehicles being rolled back... It seems similar to when the ID's went over 1 million and they stopped syncing. I've tried numerous times changing the items out, saving the tents/vehicles, waiting a long time and saving them.. But EVERY time the server restarts, they get rolled back, regardless of whether or not you save them.

I love how there is no mention on the new TXT files in the BattlEye folder for the server owners. What are they? Vehicles.txt and Remoteexec,txt

Aldy and I got this server for people to play on. Don't know why it doesn't always show on on Six Launcher. Regardless, it is based in CA and filled with vehicles and tents and beans ripe for the taking. We have 2-3 vehicles for our clan, because hording isn't really fun for anyone. I have joined some servers that say they are going to reset all vehicles and tents or something along those lines because of all the hacking/dupping that has gone on. This could just be nonsense I dont know, but I did see two servers last night say something like that when I first joined.

Just gonna point this out, but one of the few things that keeps many players (myself included admittedly) on the friendly side of the spectrum, is that base building and vehicle hunting provides loosely structured, but still satisfying and achievable goals. Unless someone is directly threatening myself, or a member of my group, I don't have any motivation to harm them while we're working on these goals. If you remove tents, you make storing vehicle parts exponentially harder (Have you ever TRIED to carry more than one tire with a full combat load?), and if you put repairing vehicles out of reach...you've potentially spawned more players without a solid goal, leading to more random killings. Maybe it's BECAUSE I play in a group that I'm still in favor of tents, i can't really be sure. I don't think that it's an abuse of the game to store the weapons we don't need at the time (Why on earth would I need my M4A3 CCO, when I'm supposed to be providing over-watch with my M14 AIM?). We're playing in the sandbox as we see fit, I see no legitimate reason why we should each have to carry > Excessive Food / Water (Can't store it in tents if they're removed) > Extra Medication (Currently we get away with carrying 1 blood bag / morphine each, can't do that if we constantly have to go to cherno / beriz / elektro to refill personal supplies) > Jerry Cans to fuel vehicles (Couldn't store them in the truck anymore) > Car parts (6 slots for a wheel, hope you don't need to be carrying anything else important > Spare weapons (M24 just doesn't cut it when you have to enter the town, gotta carry that extra MP5 if you want to not spend the firefight hiding behind a wall) > Ammo (I like my guns to be able to shoot at things, but maybe I'm just being silly) The removal of storage mechanics is NOT the answer that this game needs. If anything, a better and more realistic solution that isn't cancerous to entire playstyles, would to have weapons and equipment degrade over time, and require repair or replacement (like I mentioned in my other post). Jerry cans can spring leaks, weapons can fall into disrepair, food (Steaks, any other non-preserved food that's implemented) can rot, even tents could require an occasional patching up / replacement. Removing storage all together would be a TERRIBLE knee-jerk reaction to a problem that's not even necessarily the fault of the mod itself, sure there are tents completely LITTERED with duped anti-material rifles, clothing, ammo, what have you. But it's far from the tent's fault -
What -exactly- a server restart does to the vehicles?

If it's really the admin fault I'm sort of relieved. I'm waiting for my server to be approved because I had the suspect that my bad luck was starting to be a little too frequent to be actually "just bad luck" :D If the 'workflow' i wrote in the first post is correct then I'll just wait for my server to be ready before re-starting hunting vehicles. It is a long job to collect all the pieces needed for a full repair, and it's really sad and annoying to see a 3-4 hours work vanished in that way. My friend was so pissed off he almost stopped playing :/ And what about the edit I added to the first post? Is this strange too? -

why arent servers upgrading to 95883?

Because: 1. Some hosting providers didn't updated their servers for their customers (admins). 2. Ppl are afraid of new bugs (ie missing vehicles, tents and stuff). Anyway I'm going to upgrade mine @ 8pm, we shall see :) -

Just speaking from personal experience here but have had multiple vehicles mysteriously vanish after server restart. Seems to go hand in hand with when the admin finds out it's missing... lol Just last week we had a V3S truck just vanish from our camp.. I mean one minute I was looking at it, went to a tent to swap one piece of gear, turned around and poof it's gone. Hackers? Abusive admins? Ghost in the machine? Fucked if I know. P.S. All proper save protocols were followed. Just have no clue what happened. -
Also, upon reloading the server, all the vehicles and tents were gone. Not just ours. Everywhere.

Spot on post OP! I agree with everything you have said! I'd like rocket to remove the tents and stop storing in vehicles, then do a complete wipe of the hive, all tents gone, all players wiped. But he wont do that, not a flippin chance. -

I'm asking this simple question because I still haven't fully understood how this works, I'm waiting the approval for a server I'll host so I'd like to have this clarified. I mean, it isn't there anymore. last night I was with a friend on a motorbike, server restarted without notice, we went back in and the bike was nowhere to be found --- where I leaved it, but without anything in it (spare jerry cans and stuff like that) --- at his spawn, to be fixed, like if I haven't done anything to repair it. happened last week, we repaired a vehicle and as soon as we started using it the server restarted - when we came back the vehicle was at his spawn, with engine-body-fuel tank and all the 4 wheels broken, like before whe repaired it, but we didn't have anything in our gear anymore - no wheel, no engine, nothing. I'm not really complaining, I'd just love to know how it works in order to do correctly the next time I'll found a bike or a car :° Thanks to everybody that will answer me :) Edit. -> I should add that in the first case, the one with the motorbike gone (we found that at the airfield about one hour before) we were also fixing an Ural. By the time the server restarted, the Ural needed only one wheel to be completly fixed, after the server restart it was again ALL broken (body, engine, etc). I'd like a clarification on this too :( -

Good luck in your recruiting. Saw you guys roll onto a server I was on last night as my buddy and I were tromping around the map scouting vehicles. You guys didn't stay long though, I think you were expecting to find us in cherno or elecktro. Really only time's were there are after a death and have to equip again. Come join us again if you can find us, we'll see how well your 5 match up to us 2. =) BTW TS sucks, get mumble much better and it's free. -
You are correct in assuming that this was me in the Helicopter, I can only assume you were the AS50 that chain fired at me when I went over to take a look at the airfield, you need to aim a little further forward presumed you have M107 over the AS50 rounds. Basically FR100 has had some issues with hacking, quite a many even, NE airfield was a target of such and I was actually killed there myself when I got mass teleported, in that instance I was tabbed and kicked all the players off the server, usually that helps prevent some deaths. Later on on the server we had another one of these, again impossible to track down who actually did it, every vehicle on the server seemed to have been teleported to one location with all the players aswell, our helicopter along with another one that was broken was there, along with all the other cars and the ones that existed, at that point the server was just too far gone and issued a restart to fix it, sadly it seems every single vehicle due to that has gone and there literally is no more. Later on more hacking came about and now there's a bunch of stuff all over including Cherno looking like a warzone.Oh and also, do take in mind that hackers don't need to bother with this sort of thing clearly, they spawn vehicles when they need them and spawn gear when they need them. Hacker camps are usually rare due to that case and any you do find are more likely to be realistic, however we did find this with our helicopter aswell earlier on: http://puu.sh/QK5a

FR100 Possible Admin-cheater

Representing Enko here, those vehicles were not hacked. All of those vehicles were spawned at the airfield previously, the NE airfield. We just took the vehicles to store gear and such in there, we knew they were going to disappear on a server restart anyway, so we figured some of the vehicles may be legitimate. We simply then took all of the vehicles there and left them there, knowing that when the server disappeared it would leave the legitimate ones there and the hacked (see, SUV's), gone. Enko does not hack and never has hacked, we have banned multiple hackers on that server, in fact. -
New Server No Cars 4 Dayz without Car/Vehicle Spawns

There used to be serious problems with vehicle spawning. On some servers, vehicles wouldn't spawn at all. On other servers, vehicles would spawn, but their database entries would become corrupted within days and they would despawn but not delete. When enough vehicles become corrupt, it breaks the respawn system so no more vehicles spawn (I think the server still sees the corrupted vehicles as existing even though they can't spawn). I'm not sure if that was ever fixed. -

Greetings guys, Server has been updated to 1.7.2.5 and Arma2 Beta 95883 Running great with the new awesome patch from the DayZ team... just brilliant! OK mate, don't get in the vehicle, it will probably explode if it has been hacked in. Yeah, sounds like its not part of dayz from the vehicles list. Everyone gets a second chance :-) But I take your point, some don't deserve it. Ill send them some warning messages next time they log in and monitor their behaviour, I can watch for multiple disconnects in the server logs. Warnings do seem to work though, mod1sh and alex were carrying hacked in weapons. Not seen Alex but Mod1sh started playing fair after I sent him a warning. Keep an eye on the tryhard guys (alpaca and sheep) they quit on me the other day, but have not been back yet, they are not banned but I am keeping an eye on them. Thanks for the report, they will be warned and monitored.
