No vehicles spawning on new server.

Instance ID's up to 10,000 now spawn vehicles.
  2. I have no issue with you demystifying the loot system. However I'm curious as to your statement about throwing server hoppers into debug forest. I don't see any way to do that without using some sort of hack. I might be missing something (on top of brain cells I mean) so please explain? I don't think that breaking down the loot system can be considered the same as server hopping , but I understand what you're saying. At the very least it is just an explanation of how the loot system works and as such could be considered an exploit. However you can't say it's the same as server hopping since that's a very obvious no no. If this is an exploit then so is using DayZDb maps and how many players use that? A great number I suspect. I've even used it myself but no longer do as I prefer immersion over utility. It might be putting myself at a disadvantage but tbh it's no fun knowing exactly where everything is, or possibly is (in the case of vehicles). My point is, if you don't want to know this sort of thing then don't read it. I only read enough to know what the OP was getting at, but I already had an idea about this anyway due to playing for so long now.
  3. I am all for a complete wipe as starting over sounds better than just sitting around with all my high end gear since I haven't gotten to the point of killing fresh spawns just for the lolz. Quick question, so is it impossible for tents and vehicles to be saved automatically whenever they are altered? I have asked this question before and never received a response and it seems that to fix at least some duping all you need to do is have the tents and vehicles save automatically whenever an item is taken or placed within the tent or vehicle.
  4. they are cheaters. i raid and then blow up their base and then almost immediately the server restarts >:( i just spent hours taking a lot of your vehicles and guns single handedly only for you to restart the server. im almost certain doing such things is against the server hosting rules
  5. Dev (DayZ)

us 65 owned by CKC multiple ban

You want to be idiots and use hacked in vehicles/weapons, then do not come crying here for a ban appeal.
  6. I joined a UK201 server and thanks to a bug or something, got plenty of map markers. One of them was called "cars". To my surprise said cars was parked far in the "no mans land" in Chernorus... This whole charade stinks and feels really unfair when people hog all the vehicles and hide them off map for eternity, without ever using them.
  7. what r u talking about man, i no they dont thats what we are saying normally u have to wait a few server resets, what ur talking about has already been posted pointyend, about vehicles going back to where they were when last saved in .4
  8. yeah everything is back... however do your tents/vehicles save the gear stored there? ours don't... lost some quality loot over the last few days^^ ingame nick is: pho (i'm your average friendly neighborhood scavenger tho', no filthy bandit... so pls don't hunt me down) :D
  9. Hey guys, coming from someone that has had a reasonable amount of experience with a sniper, I wanted to lay down some tips that will help other bandits out there get the most out of their rifle and time. 1: Don't dive balls-deep into every situation, patience is your friend. Don't just shoot when you first see a guy, wait that shit out and only fire when you have the perfect shot lined up. ex: www.youtube.com/watch?v=MW1eXRg39kM (example of a time when I waited for the perfect shot instead of getting impatient and possibly missing) 2. Don't fall into the ruts of stereotypical sniper locations. Trap tents and weapons work often, but they are also dead giveaways. The same applies to camping crashed helicopters, they are just too convenient for sniper targets and survivors generally look out for any possible bandits before looting. (this applies to the generic elektro-sniping-hill as well. while it may be fruitful, everyone knows about it and you will eventually get caught there if you stay long enough). ex. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywtAVJf9O50 (example of a bandit that was easily taken out due to his generic sniping position) 3. Understand human nature. When using vehicles, survivors will often stay away from cities and choose gas up at locations that are out of the way, have a wide range of sight (so they can see any danger), and are near points of interest (factories for car parts / large cities for loot / along major roadways for convenience). Because of this, the gas station in between Gorka and Polana can be one of the most profitable sniping locations in the game. It is close to Polana (which has a grocery store) as well as Berezino (all around great city for loot) and the gas station itself is wide open for sniping. This is a prime example of how to easily acquire a vehicle just by understanding how your enemy is thinking. ex. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xomJ3KPeuNY (example of a great sniping spot that survivors generally think is empty) 4. Watch cities before going into them. As a sniper, you need to realize that unless you are 300+ meters away, you are most likely going to lose a gunfight unless you have the drop on a guy. That being said, a great way of ensuring that you won't run into any survivors is to do some basic recon. When looking at a town from a distance (300+ meters away) if there are no zombies scadoodling around, then there are no survivors either. Zombies generally despawn fairly quickly after a survivor has left an area, so a zombie filled town is a dead giveaway of survivor activity. If you are a bandit, this is also a great tactic to use so that you don't waste your time looking around a city that has no survivors in it. 5. You don't aways have to camp cities, camping common traveling routes can be a significantly safer way of taking out survivors and looting their goodies unscathed. Watching the barn north of Cherno is a perfect example. The survivors generally have their guard down because they are outside city limits and are in a semi-remote location. Little do they know that virtually everyone that plans on going to the airfield or stary sobor makes the exact same route. ex. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzamYe5_8fw 6. Parked vehicles/ tents/ weapons/ other dead survivors are great ways of drawing the attention of other players. You can use this to your advantage... but don't be a dipshit about it. Leaving a tent in the middle of the road will draw the suspicion of any survivor... and they will immediately start hunting you down. The same goes for any fully repaired vehicle left out in the middle of the road. If you are going to lay traps like that, hide them in a way that you know they will be found. A tent partially protruding from a bush that is next to a heavy traffic area is a lot less suspicious than a tent in the middle of an empty field. The same goes with vehicles. I don't know how many survivors i have personally taken out trying to get into the tractor near polana. The tractor is a big red bastard, but it is hidden partially behind some bushes... so survivors believe they have found themselves a secret car and are far less likely to get suspicious of it. 7. Instead of making the trek to Stary Sobor / NW Airfield / NE Airfield it is significantly safer (and more time consuming) to search for a crashed helicopter. When initially setting out for one, make sure you have plenty of rations and make your way west of gorka up to altar. Altar is a hill that power lines going down it and marks the transition from the woodsy southeastern portion of the map and the plain-like north western section. From altar you should have a relatively clear view of the plains to the west and should easily be able to see a helicopter if one has spawned. I often walk the stretch of power lines all the way to Novy (all the while checking the little fields to the right and left of the lines). If this tactic does not come to fruition, try server-hopping. You might be tempted to stroll the fields west of Stary Sobor... well think again because those fields are wide open for sniper fire coming from lunatics dwelling in and around stary as well as the snipers located on the elevated NW airfield region (while the fields west of stary might be significantly larger, they are significantly more dangerous. so i guess the looting place is up to you.)
  10. Who has the items doesn't effect if they are truly rare or not, any system that gives a set percentage chance of item spawn will never be able to represent scarcity because nothing is truly scarce, there are no finite amounts in such a system. A player can farm a spawn until he obtains any given item, I know this because we routinely farm NW or Stary and load tons of high end gear into our blue truck before parking it behind a bush at the edge of the map. Labelling my proposal as "artificial" is complete bs, items with a hard cap are truly rare, if they are horded by one group it only means that that group was proved to be better at aquiring a scarce resource than you and the other million people playing DayZ. If they don't want to use said items but instead want to horde them for their own future use or hold them to prevent the oposition to having them thats their perogative, they are the ones that planned and executed a scheme to obtain them. Go shoot them and take their shit if you don't like it. You call it abuse, I call it surviving in a world with finite resources, nothing is infinite if you want something you have to go find/take it from someone else. This is what survival is. Why are you so short sighted that you think this must be implemented on the mod in its current state, the end goal is standalone and that is where a mechanic like this would truly shine, because most of the things your bitching about wouldn't be present. Would people still hoarde gear and do everything they can in their power to aquire as many of the best items as possible, yes, thats what surviving is. Would it suck to be a newb or fresh spawn, hell yea, it would suck to be alone with nothing in a survival scenario. You don't point out actually downsides like inactive players with loot, you only look at how people will be able to shit on your experiance. Thats what survival is, you shit on the people that are not part of your group because they are your competition. All of your posts/threads are like this, nerf bandits, nerf snipers, nerf storage, nerf vehicles, qq, qq. You don't want anyone to be able to put in time and work to have an advantage. I don't get what your bitching about a new spawn can go find a whiny or enfield and they are instantly as deadly as a player that is month old, its already all up to that players skills. 1. has no effect on everyone running around with high tier gear... 2. has no effect on everyone running around with high tier gear, do you really think people that are pissed won't just respawn asap and then bandits never get a chance to loot the body. 3. The system can't be manipulated by players? They can only farm loot and get all the best shit, they just shouldn't be able to carry as much of it.... Player growth occurs when they knock the guy off the rung above them and climb over his dead body. Your system doesn't stop the growth of new equipment they can farm away all the gear they want. Again with the I hate people that organize/think their way to success. What are the boundries that exhist in DayZ, I thought a large part of the games appeal is that it doesn't have boundries or tell you how to play, you do what you want how you want. There is a difference between meta gaming and min/max, to me you describe the min/max mentallity that is prevelant with all gamers more than meta gaming. There is no way to stop min/max its a logical self intrested behaviour, the only way to avoid it is to create systems that don't allow players to min/max, ie log out timers, unique linked servers, or set difficulty and view settings. Storage is a feature that is required in standalone as it is how players will be able to transition from surviving to thriving.

    Being a Bandit Badass

I'd say that my best moment as a bandit happened when I came across a clan getting all of their shit together for a photo (shit including a Ural, a Huey, and all 13 members of their group) Their heli was hovering about 20 meters off of the ground. I pull out my AS50, ready for fun. I shoot the pilot in the face, forcing the helicopter out of the sky. It lands on a UAZ, making both vehicles exlode, which cause the other vehicles around them to explode with help from more of my BMG rounds. My buddy starts killing the players with his MK 48. In less than 8 seconds, all 13 were dead, their vehicles were destroyed, and two bandits became very aroused.
  12. The Heli on our server is also respawning and at the same spot. It respawns in the same location, but always seems to need different items to get it going. All other vehicles are fine, but we are also noticing sandbags and barb wire are disappearing too.
  13. So, just wondering. I see a lot of people complaining about missing items on their tents, missing vehicles, etc. But i also see a lot of camps when i'm searching for them with lots of gear inside. I just want to ask if there's any way to SAFELY set a camp, like the proper time of the day before/after the restart to save the tent, or any other "technique" that will provide me a safe way to put my stuff inside my tent. Last time i did it, after the restart everything was gone.
  14. I dont quite see how having a bus, a van, a motorbike and a Heli is hoarding, but ok. Regardless, that isnt what is being discussed here, the vehicles being rolled back IS. So please, if you have nothing USEFUL to contribute, dont.
  15. I'm so glad this is happening to you. So stupid for people to get all the vehicles and just horde them miles away. They don't even use them half the time what is the point? Let everyone have a fair chance at getting vehicles. I'm playing the game 2 weeks and have yet to find one.
  16. running the same version on the server, our vehicles do not do that though...just the heli and it seems to go back to the same spot...

I finally found some hackers...and they showed me a good time

There are some fun hackers that just like to screw with people or show new players a good time, like most of the ones you met. Though spawning in a bunch of vehicles can easily get out of control but at least they were nice enough to take you with them the whole time. My favorites are still the ones that just deliberately mess with people. The good ones that know how to creep out even the most hardened survivor. Now the CoD script kiddies who just kill everyone on the server or who only hack because they can't survive otherwise... Well, those we could do without.

Remove Tents And Kill Everyone (A Fresh Start)

As a person who is in a group that has backup gear and backup gear for that gear and so on and so forth with vehicles spread across multiple servers I fully support this notion albeit it's only a temporary fix.
  19. i see the fix. Is this exclusive for vehicles & their inventories, or tents also?

    DayZ Standalone Game Class Perks.

Yeah I have to agree, class specific loot would probably be a bad way to go. These 'perks' or 'professions' should literally just be something do give a slight non-pvp advantage over a very specific detail. List of possible professions: - Doctor/Nurse - Heal faster/more effective healing - Athlete - Be able to run faster/further - Body Builder - Carry more weight (not more slots, and this would depend on if weight was introduced into inventory management) - Locksmith - First introduce locked doors, he could pick locks (or pick locks faster) - Cop/Military - Trying to think non-pvp, so possibly break down locked doors (creating lots of noise for zombies/players to hear) and maybe hold ammo in toolbelt - Mechanic - Repair vehicles with more common items (like MacGyver, use hose, tin can, elastic band, etc) - Farmer/Butcher - Get more food out of animals The list could go on and on, and as other people have stated, with giving you something good, maybe take something away? Example doctors can't have a secondary weapon because it's filled with their doctor's bag. Would have to try and balance that out, or could just stick with giving each person 1 extra nice 'perk'. And the other way we could go about implementing such a feature as stated above was to introduce very rare items that could serve a similar purpose. Instead of choosing a background 'profession', you find an extra rare item that could be say an ammo belt, or a police officers belt. This would remove your 2nd row from your toolbelt and give you that room for just ammo. Find a lock picking set for picking locks instead of breaking doors down loudly. But then comes the question can a player have more than one of these 'perk' items? So I would like to hear feedback on people's thoughts on both of these methods, their inputs regarding each one and maybe add something to flesh out the idea.

    teleporting to the coast

Does anyone have any information on whether or not there is a set time period where if you switch servers that spawning on the coast occurs? It's happened to me several times and I have just resolved to play on one server but strange things have been happening on our main server US1306 with vehicles and tents. My friends and I are wanting to move to a new server but we want to actually be able to transfer the lion's share of our gear to the new server without being teleported to the coast. I'm going to begin experimenting with staying logged off a server for several hour before switching in the hopes that I don't get teleported; if not my friends have a long car ride to get me.
  22. i need a team...scavenging for a weapon or something to eat or hell even just a damn bandage is crap when people are running around with anything they need! lol smasht_AU: did you guys build that entrance with sand bags, and the anti-vehicle barriers? how do you build stuff like that, just scrap metal and a tool box? this game has so much more that I have even begun to be exposed to... another question, are vehicles and barriers and stuff taken away after a while or do you keep it and new ones are respawned after a server reset? also, if you destroy a building, is it only down until the server reset?
  23. My team and I raid other camps and the NW airfield just about every day now. It's the only thing to do now that we have vehicles and all of the gear/guns we need. We also have like 15 Mountain Dews, as a comparison ;) Wow, 1 more would have done it? Or is that a joke?
  24. Hello, I do not have vehicles up for trade, as I usually split my time between 7-8 servers and whenever I do manage to get a hold of a vehicle on one, it's never for long. But I am looking to trade anything in my arsenal for a Mk.48 Mod 0, Don't ask why I love that gun, but I do, and everytime I find one I seem to have the badluck to lose it to a desync or in last nights case, I played when I was over tired and passed out while playing, anyone can tell you that's a bad move. Woke up to a You Are Dead screen. Between my 8 tents i have several ghillie suits, camo clothing, Svds, AS50s, M107s, L85AWS, M14Aim, FN FALs both version, M24s, M4A3 CCOs, MP5SDs, AKS-Kobras, M9 SDs, Coyote and Alice Packs, NVGs, Rangefinders, Toolboxes, Gps's, Entrenching tools, Maps, extra tents and a lot more. I have ammo for all of those guns. I even have Bear Traps if that's your thing. Please PM me if interested, it doesn't need to have ammo, as I said I've had a couple so I still have some leftover ammo. So name your price and we'll work something out.

    Cheater on US349

Time: 3AMish EST Server: US349 (Peacekeepergaming.com) I logged in to check and see if the tents were spawned and holding items. After the last server restart all the tents and vehicles de-spawned for some reason. I get to the lobby screen and see to players named: LeYang and Trevisus. I took a screen shot later but I dont know how to find it or if it saved. Anyway, I got past the lobby and instantly died before I even saw my player even load up. I previously was logged out in the middle of no- where near a tent with full health and wearing a ghille so its impossible I was found or killed under normal circumstances. I mean ffs, a server with 3 ppl in it and this douche hacker kills us? I mean what is he doing testing his stuff out? Anyway, instant death followed by teleported waaaaaaaaaaaaaay outside the map as there was no vegetation anywhere. I press 'G' for gear and everything is gone. I still had my ghille on. I see one other player where I was but no idea of his name just said survivor. My kill count and zombies are all still the same even after my death. After staring at the other player in a ghille who was not moving (maybe afk) I logged out. When I logged in thankfully I was teleported to Oatmel nearby the coast. ALL MY GEAR GONE but I have my kil count and ghille suit. Thankfully I can go to a town and gear up agian, that is if I decide to play anymore...from reading the forums it seems like its easy to hack and battle eye is doing a good job of banning people who are just playing the game. I loose all my gear that I spent hours collecting for no reason. I mean its one thing to spawn flying cows (which i saw several days ago on the same server) but another to fk with players who did nothing to you.
