Vehicles & Tents not saving on 1.7.2.4

another strange thing, the vehicles after disappearing always respawns at the same place. so we always now knows where the chopper and uaz etc spawns.
  2. Tents and vehicles a priority please, them not saving has really been an issue for me and the clan. Graphical glitches are still a problem for me, though I know some members of my team have not had a problem with them since the new patch. The graphical glitches are so bad though that they could cause seizures in an epileptic and perhaps should be a larger priority than they have been. Respawning on the coast with or without all gear, sometimes stuck to the ground knocked out. Losing pack every time I gain or lose too much humanity. Good luck with it devs.
  3. So I stumbled onto a player tent base right next to Podoba Dam (yes very original) and after receiving fracture and being insta-killed from and unknown source that was not detectable by the server admin in logs, my sole mission has been to destroy this base, repeatedly. It is not that large of a base hardly a tent city, six tents in all, some empty and others full of top tier duped gear. The base is encircled in dozens of sandbags surrounded by hedgehogs surrounded by wire fencing. It is not made to be entered on this server. In the center of the ring is an empty patch just perfect for ghosting into from another server to gear up and go player killing I would imagine. I have driven over the wire and removed the other obstacles. I have trashed all the gear from the tents and saved them many multiples of times. I have driven over the tents with their contents still inside. It seems no matter what I attempt the tents are back everyday after the server restarts. This is my burden to bear, however I would like to suggest that serious thought be given to revamping a system that allows for this to happen. I am personally a fan of the idea of binding everything to server: characters, gear, tents, vehicles, and every other game asset you can think of. This might not only help to curb the current issues of death dodging, ghosting, and loot hopping, but also help to develop a greater sense of community and competition on servers in my opinion. In any case I would like to see removable and destructible items in game that are presently server bound that are intended to be removable and destructible continue to be removed and destroyed after a server restarts.

    DayZ Standalone Confirmed

Amen to that, meta gaming ruins nearly every competetive game. I hope Rocket continues to conceal confirmed spawn points for vehicles, possibly randomize them to prevent server hopping. Also maybe not always giving all of the details every update would keep a bit of mystery :3
  5. You know what, good for you! I had a home server, I've actually had several home servers, and now I've also lost serveral vehicles because said home servers cease to exist! Thanks though tips, clearly you know what's up. This is actually another quality piece of bull crap lol. First of all, when you install Day Z they tell you to use Six Launcher. It's posted all over this fucking shit website, everywhere. Yet SixLauncher won't properly update half the time, and is the reason I wasted about six hours back when I was first posting in this thread. SixLauncher should be removed from this website, and Day Z Commander should be listed. It's many many times better, cleaner presentation, incredibly easy and logical updating options, and it actually refreshes the server list properly. So quit it with the elitist attitude about updating properly because this ridiculous website is at fault, people shouldn't have to sift through pages upon pages of random threads in order to find out that the software the mod developer told you to use to update doesn't fucking work properly. Thanks. Also I never had any issues updating after I switched to Day Z commander. Also something at least a few of you will find amusing; After being teleported to the coast at least five or six times due to complete and utter bullshit, I started to realize that alright, fine, If I ever get hackers screwing with me I have to take a 10-15 minute break from the game unless I want the fucking server nazi's teleporting me. Super! First I get teleported by the hackers, then I get teleported by the servers for trying to avoid the hackers! Really, premo system you fools have going here. So after having it effect me negatively like half a dozen times, I'm running through a town inland a bit, middle of town I get hit once by a zombie, I was just over 10k blood, the ONE hit broke my leg, woot! so I fall down obviously, and after two or three more hits I go unconscious. Well guess what the fuck I did, I logged out, used Day Z commander to find a server with an outdated version type, and I logged in and out of it three times then went back to the other server and there you go I was teleported to safety, albeit still unconcious and bleeding, saved my life. I can't even begin to explain how this pissed me off, because most of you wouldn't believe me anyway. I don't like abusing game mechanics, but this shit had me so angry, I got sniped on the coast after being teleported there for trying to avoid hackers, then my first life after all that where I'm actually doing good and some random BS with my leg breaking from a zombie hit at near full blood, and I was like you know what, fuck this, I died twice due to this error, so this time I'm using it to save my life. So thank you for fucking us legit players, and actually making us so bitter that we abuse game mechanics. Keep frustrating your player base and see where it gets you, as I've said plenty of times here; no wonder there's so many fucking hackers. As for the being teleported crap, all you have to do is wait 10-15 minutes and you'll be fine, that and avoid outdated servers. But there's not a lot more frustrating than being forced to take a break from your gaming due to hackers, and that's exactly what's happening. I can't play on high population servers anymore, give them twenty minutes and a hacker pops in. I'm just sick of it. I can't find a 'home' server, I thought I found a good one the other day but it has ceased to exist, and I keep running into hackers. Very rarely can I just chill and enjoy this game, and personally I work full time, I don't get a lot of free time, a couple hours here and there, so when it takes 20 minutes to find a decent server, and I get to play for maybe twenty minutes before a hacker comes and fucks things up, then I have to take a 10-15 minute break before spending another twenty minutes finding yet another server............. Yeah. Pretty much ready to quit playing.
  6. Van thief's location 062, 028 Our base 073, 011 Vehicles (near base) 069, 010 New base (near Zelenogorsk) 102, 011 008/009 line, 081 nEW BASE 018, 091 OUR TRUCK 005, 077m (TEMP) 009, 071 OUR VS3 004, 068 MY CAMP 111, 012 NE CAMP (URAL) 140, 009 NE CAMP (VS3) 138, 010 NE CAMP (White truck) 138, 009 NE CAMP (ATV) 134, 014 010, 065 114, 007 131, 029 014, 086 007, 055 000, 040 000, 027 THERE IS A MAIN BASE LOCATED DIRECTLY IN PUSTOSHKA. Literally, IN PUSTOSHKA. They have vehicles, tents, etc... the town of Pustoshka is barricaded off..... plenty of goodies inside... Skalisty Island also has a great number of tents with items available. There is also a chopper on that island, as well.. This is all located in Seattle 123. Go there. Have fun. You should all make a new home on that server, and bombard their bases constantly. It will be easy to follow their trends. It is becoming quite limited in terms of finding new spots to place their tents, so it shouldn't be hard to plot their new locations judging from their past camps. . . . . . . . . . . ~{SoH}~ is the clan. They told me to join a bandit crew, so I did. I don't think they expected me to actually post these coords. Enjoy it while you have them They also have tents up around Guba, and black lake. Alot of these tents are abandoned.. a LOT. Some may have some items in them, some may not... however, you will find high tier weaponry in some of them... (AS50s, M14s, M4s w/ silencer, etc etc etc). Anything you can think of. LITERALLY. RGO grenades, even... Go to PUSTOSHKA first, then go from there. They will be waiting, I am almost certain... they are probably moving everything out as we speak. Move quick! *** TIP *** SCOUR THE OUTSKIRTS OF CHERNO/ELEKTRO/BEREZINO... they have tents set up in many areas... tents are EVERYWHERE...
  7. I will keep playing and just won't use tents or depend on vehicles. My problem is fixed. How about yours?
  8. Interest check, more of interested in vehicles than other weapons! ... Rockets gone for undisclosable reasons
  9. I think it's important for this whole discussion to properly identify the various sets of skills needed for this game, and the level in which they can be realized as 'authentic-systems' in the game. Then i will agree with the OP and some others here, that the aim should be to pull up systems from the lower levels, upto the higher levels of 'authenticity' if this is possible in an authentic way, where it should never be forgotten that this is still a game! so to start off: Top-level: The systems in the game that facilitate the 'feature' (for a lack of a better word atm) make it possible to use a reallife skillset to transfer over into the game. Examples of these are: Navigating during day or night, based upon shadows/time or stars (knowledge); Aiming your gun, hand/eye coordination (skill/practice); Patern knowledge, evaluation&recognition, not just used for zed movement, but also used in identifying loot locations, and ofcourse attackpaterns for group movement; etc. Intermediate-level: The systems in the game that facilitate the 'feature' are elaborate and extensive, in order to reach a certain level of authenticity, so that a reallife skillset may become a part of using the 'feature'. Or the feature has an integrated system that mimics how a person would improve upon a skillset IRL. There are not many of these around in the game, to a certain extend i would scale operating vehicles (cars, choppers, etc) in this level, seeing that the controlls&behavior try to be authentic and while learning to operate these vehicles is not so difficult as in reallife there is still a learning curve involved (most noticably with the chopper). Bottom-level: The systems in the game that facilitate the feature are shallow and simple, while not everything need to be elaborate and extensive to be authentic, these bottom-level systems can be considdered as just to simple. As there is no IRL skill nor Game skill involved in dealing with these systems. Currently f/e Reloading, Gutting & Cooking would be good examples of these, repairing anything might be too... Now for every 'feature/system' in the game one can scale it into one of these 3 levels. Then the biggest questions concerning these are whether they can be moved up a level, and whether this actually improves the game, and HOW to move them up a level. In regards to the HOW, as that is what this thread is about, you (OP) can hopefully see that you are suggesting to take currently bottom-level features and implement some sort of intermediate level system ('mini games') to pull them out of the gutter they are in... So i fully agree, BUT ONLY, if these systems would then be deviced in such a way that they adhere to the mentioned requirements for systems of the intermediate level. So, aka, these mini-games should be made in such a way that they mimic IRL to such an extend that they become 'authentic' (enough), while not becomming a big frustration. I had a discussion about cooking in the thread linked below, and i quoted an example of a possible cooking 'mini-game', with features that resemble cooking at an authentic level, while not becomming to much of a hassle: Taken from this thread's discussion, quoting myself: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/32582-learning-by-doing-the-alternative-to-classes-professions/ I would suggest you read the threads-OP aswell as it suggests a possible way to deal with bottom-level features and pulls them up to an intermediate level, by integrating systems that mimic how a person would increase their skillset IRL ... Another interesting thread to read might be this one: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/66500-full-character-progression-compilation-thread/ as it deals with all sorts of bottom-level features that do not involve a true skillset, but could still benefit from progression in regards to the game. Now a last bit about the intermediate-level, as you can see in the discription, it could actually fall apart in two different 'levels', one that facilitates the feature with some sort of 'mini-game', and another that facilitates the feature with a learning-by-doing system (seeing all other skillsystems, like perks/skilltrees/etc are frowned upon). While most of my suggestions for improving bottom-level features to the intermediate level are of the 'learning-by-doing' kind, i would actually prefer a more active approach. The problem here though becomes: what are the details of the system, is it authentic enough to bother with it, and is it gamey enough to not become a huge hassle. The learning-by-doing thread linked above, actually has a mixture of the intermediate-level 'systems' as i try to move it more and more towards using atleast some IRL skill... if this interests you please participate in the discussion about the details, as those are much more interesting and much more needed than a poll about merely suggesting to 'pull-up' some bottom-level features out of the gutter... most people will agree, with a big BUT HOW attached!!

What happens when you "save" a vehicle

As I understand it .... When the server is first started, all vehicles are spawned randomly within certain limits. Only x number of vehicles will spawn over the entire map. Within that number there are also caps on the vehicle types. Only z number of helos, only y number of cars, bicycles etc... Within those constraints, the vehicles spawn randomly and may or may not spawn in any given location. When the server is re-stared, everything is wiped. Unsaved vehicles disappear. Saved vehicles are respawned where they were. Hopefully with their inventory intact. Then, if there are any slots left over, vehicles are randomly spawned up to the limits. So to simplify, saving a vehicle simply tells the server to replace it where it was after a restart. Same with tents. I believe the same 7 day death rule applies as with tents. When it's first saved it's attached to the user who saved it and will remain saved until 7 days after that user dies or seven days since anyone has interacted with it.

    DE77 Vehicles

Hey. I played alot on youre Server cause runs smooth,no lag and Pro Settings Thanks for that :D Personaly i diddnt saw any Vehicles at all. The only thing i found was a Hacker Camb with some BAF Weapons inside some Tents. So maybe ther is someone Hacking and Teleporting all this Shit outside the Map.
  12. Is the present condition of vehicles and tents frustrating, yes no doubt. Are there plenty of other things to do in game without vehicles and tents, yes no doubt. The choice to play or not is your own, but it seems like you want affirmation for your decision? How is a boycott of the game going to improve the situation exactly?

    Missing Chopper.....

You are an idiot if you think downloading a mapping tool is okay. The vehicles do not belong to just one group and the the mapping tool is an incredibly cheap way of finding out where others stash their vehicles and gear. This tool alone has made me want to quit Dayz, what is the point to setting up a hidden camp when some stupid little script kiddie can just see your tents and vehicle on their map.
  14. Twice now we've lost choppers to this bug, and many vehicles. Plus tents won't save anything. Whats the point in looting if you can't keep you're stuff longer than 6 hours?

Vehicles & Tents not saving on 1.7.2.4

Not had any tent/vehicle save anything for over a week. Also vehicles are randomly returning to places on the map there is meant to be no spawns :\

    The Bicycle.

I like my bicycle, I'll even find plenty of vehicles, check their gear and move on with my Bicycle. Just last night I was meeting my friend at the coast and I found a blue van and a motorbike a UAZ and V3S Civillian, Put it this way, I kept my bicycle and my friend took the V3S :D Epic bikes are epic! :D
  17. Zombie Jesus

    The Bicycle.

When I lost my bike to most likely a script kiddie I was so pissed I almost stopped playing. I have lost three vehicles in a obscure spots on a low population server, then I looked up map hacks and was surprised to find out there is a player locator script, a vehicle locator script, and a tent locator script. This game is incredibly broken when a bike hidden in a Bush on the Western edge of the map is vulnerable to theft.

    Missing Chopper.....

I paid for the server rental, ill do what i please with it. Who are you to tell me otherwise, there are plenty of servers for you to choose from. Cry me a river you petty bitches. The whole reason we do it is because of hackers. Im guessing as per the 2.5 comment it will keep happening. Seems a bit daft to me.........So when I find a legit vehicle, repair it, drive it to hide it then save it........itll go back to the place it spawned?? This game is genius. I might revert back to 2.4. Atleast I will be able to save vehicles again and dupe items. We have a dedicated lorry to store guns in and another ural for food thanks to the dupe glitch. We have every weapon in the game now with multiple copies.

Apocolypse Currency (ideas for trade items)

If i get the OP right he is not trying to find a currencys name be it gold coins, shells, cigarettes or stardust to horde for players to buy huge appartments in cherno, retro chairs and new nikes in a virtual Shop but rather something we as players could misuse as a currency. And the answer is of course: fuel. I think it would really come down to this especially if it turns out as rocket stated in an interview that he would like the standalone to feature lots of repairable vehicles but less fuel. I'm trying to establish a shop right outside electro with fuel as a currency. Anyone willing to participate is more than welcome (PM me) because i just thought of my meaning of dayz life in that instance and first have to figure out how this could be accomplished. Guess i'd need runners (some sort of errand boys), gunners (bodyguards) and diggers (guys that loot the world). I don't want to get rich with this concept but it would be cool to re-establish some small parts of society. Which i hope i will fail because i love the game as a hardcore zombie apocalypse and not as The Sims. Well anyway i guess it would be fun to fail in the attempt :) (sorry for hijacking the thread for a moment. I got carried away).

    Missing Chopper.....

Pay to win with your own server for vehicles and locking it down when you aren't using it? That is vagina.
  21. F4ll3N

    Missing Chopper.....

Thats a problem with 2.5 rollback to 2.4 and all your tents and vehicles will save again.... there really is NO POINT to running 2.5 other than the humanity thing... which isnt worth loosing all tents and vehicles every restart imo.
  22. Banicks

    Missing Chopper.....

Vehicles are stored specifically on a server, turning the server off, then on is classified as a restart. Thus you lose where you parked the heli and all vehicles reset. Your gear however is stored hive side so that is why you keep it. Fairly certain you're not supposed to be doing this, but with scripters/hackers and so many high end items rolling around lately. What difference does it make.
  23. mikey182

    Missing Chopper.....

Its a server connected to the hive mate. We use it to store weapons and vehicles, and use the vehicles (mainly chopper) to get about the server, then server hop and turn our server off. So unless im going to grab some packets (which I cant be arsed with) I dont think there are many alternative methods.....
  24. I specifically rolled my server back to 1.7.2.4 to avoid vehicle/tents not saving due to 1.7.2.5. I was able to restart the server fine without losing any gear/vehicles but It seems after the hive went down last night it also effected 1.7.2.4 servers as well now... Anybody else experience vehicle wipes on their 2.4 servers after the hive restart early this morning?

    Banned From AU32

Well, oh I see. Well actually the truth behind the matter is I must've got in a hacked helicopter (Hear me out because this wasn't intentional and didn't hack) I was walking to Elektro like always when I heard a helicopter approach from above and landed about 100m away. I ran up to the helicopter and shouted "Friendly" hoping he would give me a lift. Suddenly he get's out the chopper and walks off. I think "Wow that was nice of him to leave me a chopper" I tell my fiend who spawned down the road and waited for him. While waiting in the helicopter for my friend I saw another chopper fly over head (By the same guy) which I was thought was a bit suspicious but hell "I found a freakin' chopper". So yes I was suspicious (but I had no idea that he hacked it in). When I was banned I had no idea why and asked my friend if he knew anything and he suggested that the person might have hacked vehicles and that's why I was banned. I brushed it off saying "That's pretty unlikely". After trying to reconnect to the server I came here and put the ban appeal up hoping others would see my innocence. Well that's me story, believe it or not. Either way I just wish I could have 1 more chance. P.S. The community can be quite mean and untrusting :( Edit: I also crashed it 5 minutes later so... yeah XD
