As of now me and my friend will be recruiting new members into our Day Z team. My Aim: My real aim for creating this team is to exclude hackers from the game and to try and shift focuses for some who believe the game is losing to hackers. I want to re assure people that the game is a lot better with a team. What players we are looking for. - Any hardcore player, bandit or just normal survivor can join - Will only be recruiting you if you are willing to kill any intruders or other survivors - Need American, Australian and NZ players. But willing to make spots for others. - Up to 10 players who are experienced enough to help out a few noobs. - A person that is okay with playing later at night. - Easy going and prepared to have fun and be serious. What will we be doing? - A series of missions, really whatever the team wants to do and there will be a few selected leaders who are very experienced. - Raiding main citites, camps and the airstrips/airfields. - Creating our own camp as well. - And we will be on the hunt for any vehicles, including helicopters. The group claiming hackers was based off of a hearsay that was said over vent (which could have never even have happened) without clear evidence (both visually or the logs; they just found the camp through metagaming and not hacking.) The group claiming blacklist has visual and logical evidence from multiple sources and separate claims (OP's claim being the strongest.) Whilst you see an e-peen war, I see a valid argument favoring the blacklist side. I'm still for blacklisting the server, though. I'm glad he apologized, but what he did is inexcusable. He clearly violated the rules and thought he was in the right. Just because he said sorry doesn't mean he should be let off the hook. Repeatedly restarting the server to save his camp from getting looted isn't fair and given this situation isn't moral. He was restarting the server based on hearsay over vent that it was a hacker raiding his camp without checking the logs. Again, I am glad he said sorry and supposedly admits he will never do this again, but I still think he should suffer the consequences. This will snowball to other admins blatantly abusing only to say sorry and have free reign as they horde items and vehicles, free reign of shutting down/restarting servers when things don't go in their favor, and free reign to ruin people's fun/effort when they want to legitimately raid a camp. An admin should never restart or shut down the server unless they validate that it is a hacker or the server is being thunderdomed. I've been thunderdomed many times (and won the deathmatch a couple times; ALPHA MALE!) and afterwards I would find a way to kill myself and start over again. I've also been turned into a cow and lost all my stuff. Point is, I am not attached to my loot. As a server admin you should be doing your best to identify the hacker and report him/her, not protect your own stuff/loot. If your server was more populated, dez, then you would have been more disruptive to the others innocently playing than the "hacker" raiding your base. Also, after you actually checked the logs and found out that he wasn't hacking, instead of posting this, you posted this. A very shameful display. 65% of vehicles are actually within 300m of towns. They are just hidden in plain sight. Yes, there are camps on the outskirts of the map with cars, however, its not as many ON MOST SERVERS as you think (some servers do seriously have 60% of the cars in one camp.)

cause theyve been fixed up by other people and hidden? duh? if vehicles constantly spawned there would be 50 things driving around per server. if you dont suck at DayZ it takes all of 1 night to find a vehicle. if you reallllly want one, go to a spawn point and server hop. other than that, search the western/northern forests. takes all of 3-4 hours to do a full clear of the west side and youre guaranteed to find some and atleast 1 tent city per server

Because when the host starts up their server, they will spend hours getting all the vehicles in the game and hording them. It is sad, but it's their server (which they are paying for).

That would be a good idea if you only play DayZ. What about the people that play games like Takistani life or those other mods which you people probably never heard of. They have custom vehicles and decals which are edited and added into core game files. Thus if you make that a ban system anyone with just even a simple mod other than DayZ will get banned

1) Ok story:- Found a quad bike, fixed it, drove around with lights on, got excited and drove to fast and hit something.... Lights now don't work (back lights do)... I understand that I may of broken them, with my wonderful driving skills but can I fix them?? we got some people banned for teleporting and spawning vehicles. But I am pretty sure there are more people on the server who are playing dirty (still people with forbidden weapons), Are there other ways to look for it?

If you are running 1.7.2.5 vehicles WILL NOT save properly. Revert back to 1.7.2.4 and tents and vehicles will save right. I have had 0 problems since we reverted back. All of our tents and vehicles save just fine now.

So does all of our vehicles and all of our tents.

Maybe you should rent a server or play better. I have found plenty of vehicles And shot lots of people for them. But no its not good it means the game is unstable and will never work right. this even happens with tents.

Finding scripted inventory items on a player or in their tents or vehicles is not even close to proof of them being a scripter. It doesn't even mean those items were scripted into that particular server. Have you bothered to look at the script log?

Most of the vehicles in the game are pretty much old, cold-war era vehicles since the country the game is set in is a war-torn russian country. Sport bikes in a russian rural country with cold-war era technology would in fact be pretty out of place.

I was planning to build camp but tents not saving gear, I got all the gear i need and had even more but it lost in the tent, found ghillie suit and camo, found vehicles, so there is nothing more to do, I don't want to go "hunting", so there is no much stuff to do for a friendly survivor. Azrail what do you mean not fit? cars fit in game? ATV fit in game? dirt bike fit? and sport bike doesn't?

GREAT server. usually the only one I play in. (needs more players) Very fast loading. No hoarding of vehicles. - and yes. someone has the chopper :D

So yes hacking is a big problem in Day Z. From dupeing to teleporting to insta killing it is seemingly a part of life. So I have a question. Why are there only a few hacked weapons and vehicle? Bare in mind here Im not talking in quantity here but in varity. I mean if I took the time to learn how to hack this mod, you can bet the last thing I'd spawn for myself would be a thermal scoped 50 cal... There's a whole assortment of silenced rifles and such that would be much more fun and entertaining to use. And dont even get me started on vehicles. Who the fuck spawns a SUV when theres a AH-1 helo w/ auto cannon... I guess Im just upset because not only do we have to deal with hackers, we have to deal with the most uncreative bunch of losers known to the community. Come on guys, if your going to cheat at least cheat in something cool...

just so were clear the clothing dupe is a problem with the arma2 engine and cannot be fixed unless he takes out clothing changes. so until he does that; all restarting will do is let the people who know how to play the game (fix vehicle on 4 hour server, control crash sites, dupe gear, control barracks with duped gear) crush the noobs 1000x worse it took me all of 1 1/2 nights to get 75% full geared on current servers (vehicle + high end gear). if i had free reign to know that all vehicles are at their spawn points id be crushing noobs by the end of the night

I've always found the north to be the best unless there is an active Huey on your server. It's soooo expansive so it makes it damn near unbareable for people to search (though I won't lie I've done it before) but with a Huey it's a matter of 10 minutes to find numerous camps. The only bad thing about the north is it's a tad bit out of the way and without vehicles it's quite a treck. I'm currently researching new locations that I can put down a low profile camp that is within walking distance to good loot areas. And when I say low profile I'm talking a tent and maybe a dirt bike or ATV.

-I've never managed to fix headlights when I fucked up an UAZ's even tho I fixed everything on it even if it wasn't needed. -dayz wiki has the spawn per server and spawn locations of all vehicles as well as other useful stuff like storage space, how many players it can carry and so on.

So Was all pissed this morning because I was killed by my group on the non hive I play on lately. I'm new there, and they were in a locked room this morning. As I logged in I was shot :S sucks. Hours later on a different non hive that shares the same hive I have re geared and grabbed my stashed dirt bike. I head north out of Berezhino thinking I would drop the bike and hike into the NE Airfield to pvp for some end gear seeing such a high zombie count (200+) w a low server population (10-13). I dump my bike a few hundred meters north of Berezhino and start to hike. Not 150M ahead I spot a camo UAZ being driven back and forth as if stuck or running out of guts (power uphill). I crouch keeping a hill in between me and my target knowing it could be loaded w 4 guys...... I strafe to the drivers window @ 90' (not knowing how complicated the ballistics engine is in this game), come up above the hill, iron sights in, and start cracking rounds steadily through the drivers window hoping my over spray / spread will hit a passenger if there is one.... 15 shots later the driver is ejected and drops to the ground dead. Cautiously I approach to find no more survivors. I celebrate now in a better mood. He rounds out my tools and provides a better weapon (M14 Aim). I hide his body to be a ban-dick and steal his vehicle and relocate it more north. Happy I trot off on foot NOT another 150M to find a bus parked against a tree.... w a hedgehog behind it (tank barricade). I search for a number of minutes but being inexperienced with the bus I cannot find its gear menu. Frustrated I pop the tires and dump 2 M14 mags into it and leave. I hike off west checking a few points marked on the map but find them bullshit. Curious I google how to access bus gear menu and find a solution. I head back about 10 mins to the coast and attempt to relocate the bus (a server w no map way points). As I near the coast I scan out..... to find a Ural (yellow), UAZ (camo), and small car (green). ALL have hedgehogs behind them to reduce gear loss..... I scan around for players and hurry in. Checking the Ural first I hit the jackpot.... 2 AS 50s, 3 M107S, 2 FN FALS, Bizon SD, M14 Aim, M4A1 CCO, 2 Ghillie Suits, 5 AS 50 Nato Mags, 20 M107 mags, and other non essentials. I check the other two vehicles to find them just as loaded....... I thought about leaving them to come and loot when I needed but my ban-dickery got the best of me again. I grab the small green car and pack it with my preferred gear. (AS50s and M107s, ghillie suits, frags, ammo, etc). I move it off 100M or so and pull out my AS 50. I take 2 shots at each remaining vehicles engine block, destroying them and the gear inside :) Ecstatic, I head off w my car to hide it before anyone logs in. I boast with some friends on team speak of my accomplishment and hide the car. I head back into the area and about 500M S by SW I find an exploded blue car w a Ghillied body on the ground w an AS 50, Coyote pack and 2 grenades. I loot what I want leavin my Alice pack and head back to the car to dump my spare AS 50 into it. Im walking on cloud 9 with this.. (being non hive and actual real gear). (IE, on a hive server it would just be duped back...). I head back into the forest to find that damn bus.... stumble upon 2 brown ATVs (apart from each other) w gear and simply destroy them. All of a sudden........... a fucking player running towards me... I grab a tree w no branches and prone out!... line of sighting... he has no ghillie..... cant see a gun... I scope in w my AS 50 w no time to switch... but cant draw a bead.... I scream into broadcast... "dont fucking move...." he stops..... I query "I dont want to lose my shit.. you have no gun?" He replies.."friendly... yes no gun" I demand he stays still while i check his pack w my pistol out (M 1911). He complies happily. I circle behind him w no intent on checking while hes alive.... "I assume your the guys I have been trading vehicles too?" he says. I smile... "No.. Im the one who just fucked up thier shit" bang bang bang 3 shots to the back of the head. he didnt seem mad..... "o... ok then...." he says dying on the ground Loling hard telling this story I finally find the bus and check its gear. Nothing incredible but ok. I use my AS-50 to take it out and call it a night. TL;DR found a shit ton of real gear on private hive. Stole it and a car. destroyed 5 other vehicles and killed a player EPIC win tonight :)

Good times in DayZ :) Last night my friends and I repaired a V3S looted m14, fal nv, nvgs, rangefinders, mk 48s, m14, l85 ect... we setup a tent assuming it would eat everything, saved our V3S assuming it would disappear with everything. Woke up to find the V3S still there, but it indeed did eat everything. Atleast I have a V3S to drive around and loot stuff again. I never have vehicles last more than a day or two before disappearing. It's just part of the game atm, it is very buggy.

Rocket and co should wipe all tents and vehicles. All characters while they're at it. The mod has gotten out of control with an inflation of gear via duping and vehicle hording that has gone beyond levels of reason. However, they should only implement this kind of radical action when/if they get duping and hacking in weapons under control.

Plus the north is where clans stash all their vehicles, so with some patience and a lot of searching, you can find another ride without even having to repair it. All my past vehicles (2 motorcycles, 4 ATVs, hatchback, Ural truck) were all stolen.

Got a Server from Zap-Hosting, dont know if its their fault or the fault of the Hive, but Tents and Vehicles wont save on my Server. I asked the Zap-Hosting Support if its possible to downgrade to another Version so it gets fixed (many people in this forums said so), but they just said "nope". Now im paying for a Server we cant play on, because every progress we make wont get saved. Yay!
