No vehicles spawning on new server.
starfish replied to DarkEnergy's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
If youd read a few pages through the thread you might have noticed that on 15th IDs up to 12.000 have been fixed in the database and should spawn vehicles after their next restart. Fits perfectly to your 8 day theory. The OP might also update his first post to reflect that the issue has most probably been fixed for those IDs listed. Still most people here are still facing the "inventory not saving"/"cars respawn on server reboot" issues, but I guess theres a separate thread open for that. -
No vehicles spawning on new server.
aenima replied to DarkEnergy's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
we've had our server started around august 7th and the vehicles appeared around 8 days later. and no one has done anything to make them appear or not. our server started as 1.7.2.4 and was updated to 1.7.2.5 by the hoster, when it was released. -
2 back to back entries I made in the DayZ Stories thread involving hackers: 1: "9 day survivor lost to hacker. I was running along the north western perimeter looking for camps and vehicles when suddenly someone took a shot at me. I could not hear where the shot came from so I tried to run for the nearest row of trees. Next thing I know, large explosions are erupting from the treeline I am running towards, and the first thing I thought was, "Satchel charges", (now I believe this to be artillery), so I still think I am in a legit PvP run for my life and don't Alt-F4. Now my assailant starts firing with a different gun and I am shot dead. Heart pounding and now beginning to get the slight inkling that I may have just ran into a hacker, I respawn near Cherno. I run in the general direction of my first possible loot location when I am suddenly teleported to the wilderness up north with a large group of other new spawns mostly barehanded, some with hatchets. People are generally bewildered running around yelling. Suddenly cows parachute down from the sky. And then what I believe was a serious of bombs or nukes went off. After aborting and switching servers I spawned in the wilderness bleeding knocked out and with legs broken. Needless to say I respawned when I could. I dont feel I have it in me to play more right now. I might fire it up in an hour or two.... The only consolation I take from this is a full reset of my kill count now that ammo limits are now in place. From now on, the kill count will mean more. Edit: I found a low pop server and gathered some basics and headed to the NE Airstrip After clearing the control tower, I found what I would describe as a "survivor tent" pitched directly in front of the first hangar. Inside was mostly lower tier weapons, but the remington was better than the crossbow I had. Also inside that tent, to my surprise, was a GPS! Which I had not found up until now." 2: "Today I was picked up by a whitehat hacker on an ATV. I was running through the woods towards the airfield and heard a horn honking, and yelled "Friendly" over the direct chat. When he picked me up I did not know he was a hacker, I only knew he didn't shoot me and was willing to drive me to my destination, the airfield, where I hoped to trade my remington for an ak or an m16. As we are driving I feel as if he is taking a route that didn't make sense, and I started to think something was fishy. I asked him if he was taking me to some trap or thunderdome and he said if he wanted to kill me i would have been dead already and that since I was friendly, he wanted to help. It was at this time I told the story of how a hacker killed me yesterday and I lost my M16 and NVG's. Moments later we pull up to a barn, and now I know something is amiss. He urges me to enter the barn where he says I will find some supplies. I enter the barn to find it empty, no loot, no zombies. It seemed a zombie was about to spawn and as soon as it popped up, it disappeared. Now my spidey senses were going wild and for no particular reason I thought to check my backpack. My remington now an M16ACOG, My revolver an M9, NVG's, morphine, everything I had lost to the hacker the previous night (except my M16 was not an ACOG). Next thing I know he comes over the chat with, "hey wow look at that, this must be the best barn ever!". Now I tell him that I appreciate the fact that he is trying to help, but the items aren't legit, and that instead of gearing up guys like me, he should be out hacking the black hat scripters down. He agreed to this and promptly teleported us to NW airfield. Here he displayed the ability to merely walk up to zombies and kill them and when I tried to tell leave using the night time as an excuse, he turned on the sun. Finally I conceded to him that playing with someone with godlike power removed all of the fun and challenge from the game for me and that I appreciated the fact that he used his powers for good and not evil but I still could not play with him. Next thing I know, he teleported away, and I aborted from that server which was beginning to fill up and lag terribly." Edit: to say, not only did the white hat return the gear I had lost, he also gave me an AS50, 6 clips, and a ghillie suit which I burned in the nearest fireplace I could make as soon as I respawned.

Indeed. I don't expect anything, but if one of the developers sees this, it may spur a few ideas about how something like that could be done. Having dealt with developers in the past, it's these odd pie-in-the-sky requests sometimes result in ideas that solve completely different problems than what was originally talked about. A lot of these are related. If you made dumpsters enterable and moveable, you've solved a good bit of how to get things into the backs of vehicles. A lean-to is just a tent with a different skin that you create from wood + a new collectable item, say 'branches and leaves' from bushes. Instead of making an action that requires 2 inventory items, make it two steps - make the frame (wood), cover the frame(branches and leaves). Ropes are complicated, but there may be a way to use them like blood bags for hostages - One step ties arms, the other feet, and they would have to be dragged. a state change similar to the one right after you close a tent, where your weapon is not drawn, would work for bound arms that could not raise a weapon. A second pack carried in the hand might use a modified 'carry body' action to function. Some of these are too much to ask, but a good deal of them are possible, even with the existing ArmA engine. -
What should our next competition be?
Chambers (DayZ) replied to mattlightfoot's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yes, there are the 'Hunger Games' already. I'm looking forward to seeing them, but IMHO opinion, the entire PR/promotional end of it has not been run well. So many opportunities were lost that could have been valuable promo for BIS/DayZ, and the information about the games in general was unclear and hard to find. Perhaps in late October/early November, as the ads, promos and marketing increase, I suggest: The Running Man Pitting the meanest of the mean against the most known (I hesitate to say famous) players Select 15 of the lowest humanity players that agree to the contest as THE RUNNERS Select 8 well-known players (streamers, most likely) as THE STALKERS Conditions - Locked, private server - Disconnects count as forfeit - Streamers isolated, all on 15 minute delay - Hacking/Scripting global bans the hacker, and teleports all equipment from the other runners (but not the runners themselves) to the open field outside the Elektro power station. Stalkers would be notified of this happening. - All vehicles at 100%, just need fuel, no helicopters - Runners camping for more than 5 minutes will spawn 50 infected within 50 meters. Stalkers have no restrictions on camping. Prizes/Stakes - Runners who survive get 6 months free hosting of their own server, and a free copy of the standalone game when it comes out. Runners who die get humanity reset (these are the most ruthless, so they lose their bragging rights), all equipment, tents, and vehicles wiped that are associated with their account, have a special, unchangeable, glow in the dark clown skin for 90 days. Stalkers who survive get 20 free copies of the standalone game to give away when it arrives to their viewers, and personal access to a pre-release version of the standalone to play (gets them followers AND promotes the standalone) Stalkers who lose get an unchangeable clown skin (does not glow in the dark) for 7 days. Any Stalkers who does not win, but does get a confirmed kill, gets 2 copies of the standalone to give away when it is publicly available per kill. This game idea can work very well for BIS/DayZ PR/promotion if done right, with a centralized website for information, links to all active streams, profiles of the stalkers and the runners, and if pitched right, could even lead to coverage on television (G4 in the US for example, or even espn3, but there are many channels that are looking for the DayZ demographic) using the Running Man game show format. This seems to me like a PR dream for BIS and Rocket. -

All good suggestions but some of them are pretty hard to implement. I personally liked this the best: - Fire! More Fire! - burn buildings, tires, tents, or vehicles - the smoke of a house fire could be seen for miles, and last for hours. -

Are unclaimed vehicles persistent or proximity spawned?

Thanks, Symptom. Exactly what I was looking for. In fact, I should have already figured that out from spawning in next to vehicles in the past but I missed the obvious. That's what I love about this forum, someone is always one step ahead of you.... -
Wish List - Advanced Options & More Difficulties
Chambers (DayZ) posted a topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
DayZ Wish List Some of these have been mentioned before, some are outside of the capabilities of any game engine right now due to the massive load of tracking objects, but here's my thoughts. General Additions to the Engine - Sounds carrying further - maybe not enough to aggro zombies - but I know for a fact that I can reasonably hear a revolver shot from at least a 1000m, not the 52.8m set by the game. Wind should be a factor - don't worry about altering bullet drift yet, but I should be able to hear things for longer distances if they are coming downwind. - Have people be able to ride in the back of the pickup trucks, on the handlebars of bicycles, or even in the trunks of cars. - Holster/stow your pistol, put your rife on your back, and carry things like another backpack, a jerry can, or whatever. Move slower, fine, but I have two hands, let me use them. - Longer weapons or body parts poking through solid objects; not just prohibiting them from happening but allowing the body to move to accommodate them (i.e. legs and torsos bending along a wall as you lie prone) - It's not an easy task, but 'sold object' should mean SOLID. - More climbing, ability to jump, and squeezing though narrow areas - Fire! More Fire! - burn buildings, tires, tents, or vehicles - the smoke of a house fire could be seen for miles, and last for hours. More Object Control: - Put more things into other things - I should be able to fill barrels, bottles or jugs with fuel or water. Make me have to clean it so it's not contaminated (water in the fuel, fuel in the water) I'd rather be sick than dead from thirst. - Dumpsters - be able to hide in them. - Allow me to hide a stash of weapons or supplies in a container-like object like a dumpster, or under some rocks against an old rock wall - If I want to take a couple trash cans, put it in the back of my truck and drive it to a house across the map so that I can stack them and some boxes as well to get on the roof of a one-story house, I should be able to. - Dig a small hole and bury stuff - not an underground bunker, just a hole. With a tarp or box I could reasonably protect canned food, canteens, and other basic stuff. to reliably bury weapons, you'd need a box, a tarp, and and a great deal of axle grease. - No tent? Build a lean-to from wood, leaves and other stuff - works as well as a tent, I've built them myself, and if done right and placed strategically, can be camouflaged very well. - Even in the apocalypse, if I found a auto repair garage, I could modify my vehicle - you don't need power for ox-acetylene welding, just the tanks - for example, let me add light armor to civilian vehicles to protect tires, windows, and the engine a little better - I'd be slower, and still no match for an anti-materiel gun, but against lighter rounds have a bit more protection. Get a working generator and you can do more. - IIRC, towing vehicles is already possible in ArmA II. I would love to be able to tow cars, both useable and the rusting hunks in towns, and put them to use as barricades and whatnot. - Ropes; rappelling, climbing, stretch across a road to clothesline bikers, tie up hostages, or even string backpacks up in trees and have them act like tents. - Make your own cheap-ass, low quality, ghillie suit from plants and branches. Spreading charcoal from a used campfire on your clothes should help hide that clean survivor outfit of yours. A grimy old olive-drab tarp, covered in foliage, with a holes for the head/arms and worn like a poncho could work too. More points of failure - Cars break down - Guns jam, some rounds of ammo are duds, that old shotgun and box of ammo you found in a barn is probably not the most reliable. - Flashlight, l85 thermal sights, rangefinders, GPS and NVG batteries should wear out and may not be that water resistant if you take a swim. - That boat you found might have a leak, or maybe a tire blows out if you go too fast for too long or run over something hard or once too often (that one is at least partially already present). - Oh, your matches got wet? You should only have so many to a box, anyways. - Meat should go bad after a while - remember those raw steaks you put in your tent last week? Maybe that pig has trichinosis or that cow has a huge, pus filled infection that spreads during the gutting process. (perhaps mitigated by one of these 'learning skill' things I've been hearing about) - Ghillie suits need to be maintained after a few days. Hmm. I wonder if they're flammable? -

Are unclaimed vehicles persistent or proximity spawned?
SystemiK replied to SystemiK's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
That's not what I am asking at all. I am wondering if the vehicles are persistent. Meaning does the vehicle still exist in the world even when a player is not near (which I would expect to be the case), or is a vehicle handled like loot (only spawning into the world when a player gets close to the loot spawn)? EDIT: To be even more specific, say I ride up to a grocery store on a bike. I will have approached the loot spawn so fast that it will not have time to spawn so I would see a completely empty grocery store. If I run to the store instead, the loot will have time to spawn before I get there (I've just tested this exact scenario, rode up on a bike and the store was completely empty, left for awhile and ran back to it on foot and it was full of loot). Same question for vehicles. If you approach the vehicle spawn too quickly, will the vehicle not have time to spawn, or is it there all the time because it is persistent in the world? Kind of a tricky question but an interesting one... -

Are unclaimed vehicles persistent or proximity spawned?
SystemiK posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Meaning do the vehicles spawn into a server as a persistent entity that is present whether or not a player is in the area, or do they spawn similar to loot, i.e. chance spawn when a player gets near the vehicle spawn area? This is pretty much impossible to test, just wondering what you all think about how the vehicle spawns work. -
although server instance ids are linked to the server, but anytime a server changes it's name, everything on the server is completely wiped out that includes all the sandbags, barb wire, tank traps, bear traps, vehicles and saved tents on the server are gone now. the only way to restore the items is when the server changes its name exactly the title it had before

So Was all pissed this morning because I was killed by my group on the non hive I play on lately. I'm new there, and they were in a locked room this morning. As I logged in I was shot :S sucks. Hours later on a different non hive that shares the same hive I have re geared and grabbed my stashed dirt bike. I head north out of Berezhino thinking I would drop the bike and hike into the NE Airfield to pvp for some end gear seeing such a high zombie count (200+) w a low server population (10-13). I dump my bike a few hundred meters north of Berezhino and start to hike. Not 150M ahead I spot a camo UAZ being driven back and forth as if stuck or running out of guts (power uphill). I crouch keeping a hill in between me and my target knowing it could be loaded w 4 guys...... I strafe to the drivers window @ 90' (not knowing how complicated the ballistics engine is in this game), come up above the hill, iron sights in, and start cracking rounds steadily through the drivers window hoping my over spray / spread will hit a passenger if there is one.... 15 shots later the driver is ejected and drops to the ground dead. Cautiously I approach to find no more survivors. I celebrate now in a better mood. He rounds out my tools and provides a better weapon (M14 Aim). I hide his body to be a ban-dick and steal his vehicle and relocate it more north. Happy I trot off on foot NOT another 150M to find a bus parked against a tree.... w a hedgehog behind it (tank barricade). I search for a number of minutes but being inexperienced with the bus I cannot find its gear menu. Frustrated I pop the tires and dump 2 M14 mags into it and leave. I hike off west checking a few points marked on the map but find them bullshit. Curious I google how to access bus gear menu and find a solution. I head back about 10 mins to the coast and attempt to relocate the bus (a server w no map way points). As I near the coast I scan out..... to find a Ural (yellow), UAZ (camo), and small car (green). ALL have hedgehogs behind them to reduce gear loss..... I scan around for players and hurry in. Checking the Ural first I hit the jackpot.... 2 AS 50s, 3 M107S, 2 FN FALS, Bizon SD, M14 Aim, M4A1 CCO, 2 Ghillie Suits, 5 AS 50 Nato Mags, 20 M107 mags, and other non essentials. I check the other two vehicles to find them just as loaded....... I thought about leaving them to come and loot when I needed but my ban-dickery got the best of me again. I grab the small green car and pack it with my preferred gear. (AS50s and M107s, ghillie suits, frags, ammo, etc). I move it off 100M or so and pull out my AS 50. I take 2 shots at each remaining vehicles engine block, destroying them and the gear inside :) Ecstatic, I head off w my car to hide it before anyone logs in. I boast with some friends on team speak of my accomplishment and hide the car. I head back into the area and about 500M S by SW I find an exploded blue car w a Ghillied body on the ground w an AS 50, Coyote pack and 2 grenades. I loot what I want leavin my Alice pack and head back to the car to dump my spare AS 50 into it. Im walking on cloud 9 with this.. (being non hive and actual real gear). (IE, on a hive server it would just be duped back...). I head back into the forest to find that damn bus.... stumble upon 2 brown ATVs (apart from each other) w gear and simply destroy them. All of a sudden........... a fucking player running towards me... I grab a tree w no branches and prone out!... line of sighting... he has no ghillie..... cant see a gun... I scope in w my AS 50 w no time to switch... but cant draw a bead.... I scream into broadcast... "dont fucking move...." he stops..... I query "I dont want to lose my shit.. you have no gun?" He replies.."friendly... yes no gun" I demand he stays still while i check his pack w my pistol out (M 1911). He complies happily. I circle behind him w no intent on checking while hes alive.... "I assume your the guys I have been trading vehicles too?" he says. I smile... "No.. Im the one who just fucked up thier shit" bang bang bang 3 shots to the back of the head. he didnt seem mad..... "o... ok then...." he says dying on the ground Loling hard telling this story I finally find the bus and check its gear. Nothing incredible but ok. I use my AS-50 to take it out and call it a night. TL;DR found a shit ton of real gear on private hive. Stole it and a car. destroyed 5 other vehicles and killed a player EPIC win tonight :)

Pro Tips! Post Pro Tips Here!
GiggityGump replied to outlawbigpappa's topic in New Player Discussion
To expand on this: you don't have to do the whole bootcamp, pick the missions that are more likely to help in DayZ. Focus on learning the ins and outs of movement and inventory. Spend time in the shooting range. Do it more than once, till you feel comfortable handling the weapons. Even if you're experienced in FPS games, each game and each gun handles differently. Adjust your sensitivity and "Smoothing" to match your preference. Again, go with what feels good to you. Practice flying and driving in the bootcamp. Vehicles are fairly rare in DayZ. They're plentiful in the bootcamp. Throw some 'nades. Throwing in DayZ takes practice. A well-thrown can will distract zombies. Smoke grenades are excellent for buying time in high zombie count areas. A frag grenade can do a lot of damage. A well placed 'nade will do a number on a squad who is bunched too closely together. If you're in the edge of the tree line and someone takes a shot at you, pretend you're on fire. Stop, drop (prone), and roll. Randomly go left and right to make yourself a less predictable target. If you can roll to a conifer (pine) tree, you can roll under the low branches. You're less visible here. Get up and run in the oposite direction, but PLEASE zig and zag. Serpentine running left and right and don't stop moving. Don't do the same pattern. Vary your movement. Its a good idea to get use to doing this anyway, especially in open fields. You never know who is watching. If you're on a lower populated server, hit the "P" key now and then and see just how many people are on there with you. You may be the only one. You may have 10 new server mates. Its good to know how many people are out there. You'll have an idea of how likely you are to run into anybody. Don't let your guard down though. I've run into the other guy a few times when we were the only two left on the servers. Cooked Meat gives you more blood than beans. Beans are 200. Cooked meat gives you 800. If you can't get transfusions, keeping a couple steaks in your pack comes in handy. Also, keep your thirst in mind. Even if you have a water bottle (canteen), it might be a good idea to keep one soda with you. You might not get a chance to refill that bottle for a while. Hunger and thirst eventually make you lose blood, so you can't totally ignore them unless you don't plan on living long anyway. *edit: Forgot to mention: Not everybody knows that some guns in-game can share ammo. If you're not sure which ones, you can search the usual online sources. -
hmm looks like tents and vehicles are gone.:[

These tips are for solo players looking for a challenge. The weapon and equipment choices are not intended for group use. The most fun you will get from this game when you think you've done it all, is not sniping newly spawned players in Cherno or Elektro for the lulz. Grouping with friends will also become repetitive over time. Going lone wolf and attacking groups of between 3 and 7 players will take you from a fluttery heart to full on cardiac arrest. It's the endgame that everyone thinks is missing. After playing Ever Quest, World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings Online etc, in groups, I became bored and wanted more from the games I loved. I started looking at game mechanics, boss skills, spell affects, their counter affects and their patterns. I wanted to kill that boss on my own that 6 of us had trouble with the day before. I have since succeeded in about 90% of my goals, the other 10% were impossible because the game mechanics didn't allow it. DayZ mechanics allow you to do anything you want because there are no set limits, rules or number crunching anomalies to battle against. You get a weapon and the other/s get a weapon. Simples. These are my findings and tactics that have worked for me through trial and error. This is not the be all and end all of solo/lone wolf guides, tips or tricks. It's just me, take it or leave it. If you think killing more fresh spawns than the next guy will boost your ego in your own eyes, continue doing it, but please stop reading from this point. Start: When you spawn and begin running around alone without a hatchet or a box of matches, the blood will start pumping through your veins more when you have the lone wolf/solo player mentality and ultimate goals in mind. This will give you an advantage over players who would rather pvp and ignore the permadeath mechanic. Get your bearings and head north. Primary Weapons: If you find a Lee Enfield or double barrel shotgun on your way north, ignore them. Take a hatchet instead. The M16A2 M203 spawns in military areas and deer stands. It has terrible iron sights, but it's grenade launcher capability is required when soloing many high level targets. The M4A1 Holo is extremely rare but does spawn in more locations. It is one of the best weapons you can own for solo raiding and group killing. Both weapons above are useless without ammo and grenades. Pick up all Stanag mags and M203 explosive and smoke grenades. Avoid heavy machine guns if you can. They are loud, have a huge muzzle flashand the ammo is very rare. If you find a Mk 48 Mod 0 with more than 1 mag, it could act as a valid replacement for the M14 AIM below. This weapon can be heard on the moon. Side arms: The G17 pistol should be your ultimate goal. Its low noise, neat iron sight and mag choice puts this above the rest. Grenades: Use smoke grenades to confuse the enemy, don't use them as cover. Use explosive M203 grenades against vehicles or players in a bunch. Hand grenades are very useful against multiple targets in a close group. Frag grenades are a high priority. Secondary Weapons: Sniping is mostly a bandit thing. We can ignore it. Also, sniping a group from a distance is a bad idea for obvious reasons. The M14 AIM is the only secondary weapon you will ever need for hitting targets accurately at around the 500m mark. When soloing a group it's best to keep your targets within 300m. Gear: Going lone wolf is not just about the weapons. A solo player needs to forget about soda cans and other tinned food. Hunt animals and know your watering holes. A map and compass are high on your list of priorities. Use the map. Tactics: Never attack a group on first sight. Follow for as long as it takes. A group moving for a long time without being engaged by an enemy will become complacent and make mistakes. I once followed a group of 6 for almost 2 hours. When they had met no resistance during their journey, they grouped up and 1 M203 killed 4 of them. The other 2 were left discombobulated and crawling around. I'm sure you can guess what happened to them next. Always attack from behind. Your muzzle flashes can't be seen and your targets will not expect to be attacked from land they have just walked over. Silenced weapons are the last thing a group hunter/killer needs. Ignore them. Naughty tricks: Set up easy to find tents between the north west airfield and Stary Sobor. Players are attracted to them like zombies to brains. Keep a safe distance (300m-400m) and use the M14 AIM to claim your barracks raid prizes without having to go anywhere near the place. Set up your own tent in a very hard to find spot. When you have your basic hunting and drinking situation sorted, your weapons and gear in your bag, the next thing you should concentrate on finding is the L85A2 AWS. Get one here: http://southcoastbea...Heli-Map-v7.jpg This is a luxury item and is not really needed. It does however give you a silly advantage when scanning your surroundings for targets. Almost everything in the mod is broken thanks to patch 1.7.2.5. If you are running this patch most of the above can be ignored. Happy being better than a bandit.

Me and my buddies used to play on us 1570, we have a tent gear whatever anywho, the server was apparently changed to us 2325 From what arma 2 game stats http://arma2.swec.se/server/data/280718 says. Do our tent, gear that is not equipped on our persons and vehicles etc change over or will they be completely gone?

PM me your Steam ID. Edit: Mission restart on our server, dammit, lost seven vehicles. -
not sure if it would be the same on console, since tents, vehicles, etc are tied to the server, which means that DayZ needs dedicated servers instead of the way most console games work (the server only lasts until the one who started it stops playing on it). plus, DayZ is meant for 50 players per server, consoles can't handle that plus the keyboard makes it easy to have many controls, keybinds etc it will. Chernarus is probably going to be different from the mod version, but it will be there this. Skyrim's UI is stupid on the pc since it is developed for controllers, we don't need a repeat of that.i think rocket stated that it (standalone) wil go to PC first, and if it sells really well, they'll consider releasing it on consoles. but first, it needs about 2 million sales, i think

FADE (or DEGRADE) is digital rights management software developed by Macrovision. It operates by detecting if a game has been pirated, and initially allows the player to use the game normally. It then gradually degrades certain game features over a time, eventually rendering it unplayable. FADE creates fake scratches in specific areas on the disk image. When the disk image is copied, the program used to copy it will notice these scratches and automatically fix them. The game's master program then looks for these scratches, and if they are present then it is an original. If they are not available, then it knows it is a fake. There is no notification or error message that tells the player that a fake disk image has been detected, which makes it very difficult for software crackers to determine if their crack has succeeded in defeating FADE. FADE will introduce many issues in the game, rendering it unplayable, giving the impression that the game is simply "buggy". For example, in the first person shooter Arma 2, FADE will begin by gradually decreasing the accuracy of the player's weapons, making it very difficult to hit a target. FADE might reverse the left/right controls of vehicles, or make them randomly start and stop moving. Eventually, it will turn the player in to a bird, and display the message "Don't fly away!".

Alright suckas, I am trying to organize a DayZ marathon. I am going to need some volunteers to help me organize the race and of course I am going to need runners! So some basic info: The race will start on the outskirts of Kamenka and will end in a soon to be set end point at Otmel. The race will be run along the coastal highway, runners will be expected to run along the highway the entire time even through towns. Running off the road but not too far from, like on the grass next to it is okay but straying off into the mountains will not be permitted. The marathon is basically a death race in the sense that if a player is killed by a zombie or other hazard then they are disqualified. Players cannot kill each other and aren't allowed to use weapons during the race. Its you and your feet. Food and water will be permitted. One runner killing another runner will result in the disqualification of the murderer. The date of the race will most likely be either the 22nd or 23rd of August at around 10pm EST. The date/time will be decided by monday. The first player to cross the finish line will be the champion of the first ever DayZ marathon. Myself and some others will be documenting the race on film by following the racers on bikes and other vehicles. We want to film the race so everyone can see. Volunteers: I am going to need the help of close to ten volunteers. I am going to need the help of players to help get some vehicles running for the race. A car or two and some bicycles are necessary. These will be used by trusted volunteers to monitor the race so we can catch any cheaters. I am going to need a server with a shit load of slots. Anyone willing to volunteer their server PLEASE MESSAGE ME. I want to select a server with good connection and that will be in daylight hours during the race. I want to keep the server unknown to everyone except the runners and volunteers, just to prevent people joining just to be trolls. I realize other people will be on the server that could interfere with the race. Shit happens. IF YOU WANT TO VOLUNTEER PLEASE POST YOUR AVAILABILITY AND I WILL CONTACT YOU VIA MESSAGE ON THE FORUMS IF I WANT YOUR HELP. Runners: If you would like to run in the race PLEASE POST WITH YOUR AVAILABILITY. PLEASE LIST THE HOURS OF THE DAY YOU WILL BE AVAILABLE (EST PLEASE) ON THE 23RD AND 24TH OF AUGUST. If you win the race, you will be crowned champion of the universe. For running in DayZ at least. There will be 20 spots for runners! So act fast! There will be 15 spots for backup runners! You will need to be available before the race in case one of the main runners is absent. If a main runner is absent you will be called upon to fill his spot! If you miss out then we just keep asking all the backup runners until we get someone. If we only have 18 runners to start the race then so be it! If the race is a success I plan on doing more. DEADLINE FOR ALL RUNNER AND VOLUNTEER APPLICANTS IS TUESDAY AT MIDNIGHT EST.
