No, if the server is running 1.7.2.5 then it's just bugs. Tell them to revert back to 1.7.2.4 and all the Vehicles will more than likely reset back to their original spawn points like they did for us -

There's a gaming community? News to me. I thought it was just a bunch of bigoted, racist anti-semites abusing the anonymity of the internet that, in addition to not enjoying the fact that there are more important things for Rocket and the team to do than pandering to children on a forum (like, I dunno, actually developing the mod?), don't enjoy being beaten by people better than they are. Yes, the tents/vehicles aren't working at the moment. Suck it up. You're not meant to retain your gear through death anyway. -
I've been seeing a lot of forum posts about fixing the alpha. Mostly people saying "I quit", "This game sucks/is terrible because of bug xyz, Fix xyz or I quit/boycott", or similar negative comments. I know it can be hard not being able to play the game how you want, but here is my take on why the bugs are actually a GOOD thing. 1.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First of all, I'm glad the Developers have their priority of adding game features first. I do not want dogs, infection, temperature, and all the other goodies planned to STOP every time a tent breaks or a vehicle spawns wrong. If theses bugs are easy to Fix, do you think rocket would not fix them immediately? Yes, dayz is a game you like, but it is even more than a game to Rocket. He has put a lot of sweat and blood into it. If it were the best path to pour his effort into it I have faith he would have done it. That doesn't mean it won't get fixed, but that they are probably working on it BUT also mostly working on DayZ standalone. Likely this is the correct choice. 2.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Devs have already said some of the biggest bugs, such as duping, inventory errors, hacking, and broken characters are not fixable in ARMA II. Therefore, the faster the game goes standalone the sooner we have a Better dayz. I'd rather not play as much now and get a much sooner stand alone than have a perfectly patched alpha. Again, I think if a perfect alpha were easy Rocket would do it for us.. as it is it sounds like it would take a terrible amount of effort and I respect him pushing to make DAYZ better even if it hurts for now. 3.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That said, I think with current duping and inventory bugs, having no tents/vehicle saves actually helps the game have less cheating. Vehicle and tents not saving stops the dupers. It doesn't stop the hackers, but DayZ standalone is the only thing that will really help with hacking. Therefor focusing on developing dayZ and leaving alpha bugs behind sounds like a really good choice to me. The sooner the better. IN SHORT:: I can't wait for standalone and I really don't care if dayZ alpha is buggy & I think you should feel the same way. I applaud the developers for fixing what they can but understanding that if they get stuck on these huge alpha bugs then we'll never have the dayZ we want. I have faith that the developers are not stupid and care about the game more than any of us do.. and that consequently they're doing the best they can. please stop posing urgent threads and threats over and over for the same bugs.. play the alpha and enjoy waiting for the next big build to come out :) Right now tents and vehicles don't work so just don't use them. It's not a game ender, Nor is fixing them going to fix DayZ alpha.

vehicles spawn are randomly selected when the server starts(same as helicrash), but some olds servers have no vehicles spawn coz players takes all vehicles and put them into their hided base in these server, the only way to respawn vehicles is to destroy vehicles and server restart but atm with bugged save, it's impossible to respawn vehicles on theses servers, i think if u saved it before bugged patch comes out it's stay, but now it's not -

Hi there! Admins dont have the ability to do anything at all, but rather refer to that in another thread, seems to be a lot that clarify what admins can do - wiping a server aint one of these things. So, to your actual problem: currently with 1.7.2.5 alot of servers, if not all, dont save the inventory of tents and vehicles, plus the latter ones will also get reset to their spawn positions on server restart. A bug we're suffering from for quite a few days now, but cant do anything else than wait for the devs to fix it. While we're trying to get around that and at least have people enjoy their stockpile for a couple days by avoiding any server reboot, theres still the occasional reboot by our server provider which we cant do anything about. Just have to live with it. In the end, admins and clan members on that server are probably suffering just as you are and everyone else that is currently still playing DayZ and has that crap occur. (Just to clarify: Im not admin of US1166 nor have anything to do with that server) -
On every servers are the same stuff?or some servers dont have so many vehicles and goods?i found quadbike..thats all:) v3s:D..czech made truck:D.i found lots of guns(m4 with granade luncher,mk48,AS50,mp5sd,m249,night vision and some other)but no vehicle at all:(...i fear have good weapons with me:D.if someone saw me, then kill me instatly

All Items in vehicles disappear after server restart

Vehicles go back to where they were saved on the last patch. Fortunately thats back at our base thingy. Although its impossible to save things in the vehicles now. Ive noticed its possible to dupe items through removing a weapn or whatever then adding it to your inventory somewhere, rebooting the server will mean the item is still in the tent or vehicle, and also a duplicate in your pack. -
I don't think they anticipated vehicles being so valuable when they made Arma 2. In Arma 2 OA, the ATV is just a cheap ride, and if you wreck one you can just get another.

since the update vehicles and tents won't save right. They likely won't be there tomorrow, or the gear you had in them will be gone.

i think the quad is the funniest one to drive in dayz and would love its buggyness to stay lol, it just adds that much fun to the game, when you are on the ATV getting some serious air pissing your pants, its so fun, and when you try to push it over and fling it 30m up in the air lol, the arma engine is forever not understandable. But yeah, the flip mechanics as they have in takistani life should be added to dayz, i dont know why it hasnt as vehicles play an important role and i think that a person could easily unflip an ATV in RL so not having that mechanic in would be unrealistic. Why were takistani life smarter? in that game you can just buy vehicles and the map aint so big, -

Just got back from Gamescom. Must say, it was a great treat to finally meet the Rocket and get to ask him some questions. I asked him about tents and vehicles not saving gear and he said that its not really relevant as you can now store all your gear in Dogs; as well as ride them. Cant wait for 1.7.3. -
Thanks, now I just hope people doesnt find it to fast. Imo vehicles is fun but don't find em that usefull unless you just want to go from point A to point B fast, atleast with a heli that blows your cover quite fast. I don't like to shoot survivors either so the heavy mashine gun hmm naa.

Since the mod seems to pretty much beyond repair imho. I've decided to rejig my suggestions list into a standalone suggestions list and remove discussion about the mod and bugs. There's so much duplication in here it's hard to credit original authors on the ones I didn't come up with myself but I try. Firstly communication. Dayz is all about interaction between players. It's important that communication is quick, clear and easy as death occurs so fast. 1: Whisper, Talk, Shout. Different ranges and audibility to both players and zombies. Also a whistle or some-such. 2: Improved hand signals for silent communication. 3: Walky talkies and radios for long range communication. http://dayzmod.com/f...walkie-talkies/ 3.5: (controversial) Find a way of either stopping 3rd party voice or making it transmit an audible (non specific "talking") noise in game. To encourage use of direct chat over 3rd party chat. And at least give those people that still use it the penalty of giving away their position in game. A great idea that will add a valuable humanising element. 5: Notes. Placeable notes. Being able to interact with players in this way is important I think. Limits will be needed of course. 6: Better hunting. Animals that are harder to hunt, they spook and run etc. Also I'd like to see Z's kill nearby animals, providing that feeling of a ravaged eco system and creating another unpredictable element to their behaviour. Combined with the zombie modifications below would create unpredictable zombie encounters. ie Wandering through the woods, a deer runs past followed by some zeds, then they spot you... Gear and loot etc: 7: A more involved crafting system. Makeshift weapons etc. Possibly more interesting cooking. 8:Far less high end military gear. I believe the CZ550 should be the top of the food chain for all but a very very lucky few. There should be less ammo and weapons in general , giving more of a scrabbling for survival feel. And tied in with the crafting system so you can always make SOMETHING to defend yourself with. The nightime / light mechanic is very rewarding. 9: Less predictable loot locations. Maybe a searching system so that you have to search more carefully to find goodies. 10: repairable generators etc. i don't agree with everything in this thread but there is some good discussion: http://dayzmod.com/f...enerators-v-33/ . I also know generators are in the game with an eye to being used so expect some of this stuff anyway. 11: Padlocks: Allows players to lock any door , blocking zombies. but players can break padlock with any weapon. Alolows players to hold up in a building against zombies for a while but not block players permanently. 12: Camo netting. To help hide vehicles. It's been suggested many times. 13: non lethal weapons. For instance tranq darts. To balance , bolt action, slow firing. !st hit slows player and blurs vision. 2nd shot slows more until they pass out. Epi pen neutralises effects. Again adds more gameplay options. 14: Shots damaging equipment. Discussion here: http://dayzmod.com/f...age-by-gunfire/ . Also weapon maintenance. Environment: 15: This ground mist is amazing, would be greatif this cropped up occasionally, http://dayzmod.com/f...136-heavy-mist/ . More atmosphere and horror in general. Zombies: 16: Zombies more curious about long range noises. For instance an explosion in the distance would make many of them shamble that way. Not agroed as such just curious. 17: Zombies not giving up so easily. It's currently to easy to lose zombies, and it is immersion breaking that they suddenly stop and give up straight away. A "searching" period after they lose a player would be nice. 18: Zombies spawning much further from the player, giving the feel that they are always there, and making them more dangerous , especially when combined with No: 16. Be nice to see dismemberment etc. General: 19: Standardise Things: I'm assuming the standalone will provide a standard "this is Dayz" experience. http://dayzmod.com/f...dardise-things/ . Up the FOV a bit, and remove peripheral dots. 20: Server hopping: It's really nice to be able to change servers at will. And the flow of new people coming through a server keeps it alive in many ways. But I wonder if ghosting can ever really be fixed ? Do the pros outweigh the cons ? I'm not sure on this one but wonder if there should be a delay before you can go back to a previous server. Or possibly even being locked to one server ? 21: Linked maps to create a bigger playing area. http://dayzmod.com/f...linked-servers/ Achievable with current technology and doesnt have choke points. 22: Characters linked to timezones. So people can never TOTALLY avoid night-time play. http://dayzmod.com/f...synced-to-time/ Either this or possibly speeding up the day night cycle a little bit. Something to encourage nightime play as it is much more immersive. 23: Player customisation. More costumes and more mix and match, this allows groups to make a "uniform" for visual identification. This should include camo gear options etc, but Ghillie suits need to go, they currently overwrite bandit / hero skins etc and are too ... standard. These suggestions are or course just my opinion. But I feel strongly that Dayz is at it's best when immersion is at a maximum. I also know that there are elements of Dayz that really enhance the game but people avoid them because they put you at a disadvantage. Everything possible should be done to maximise the massive gameplay possibilities that Dayz has to offer, but that so many people never experience because they are given other options. The perma death mechanic is incredibly harsh but its what makes Dayz so compelling, there are other mechanics just as exciting in Dayz but they get overlooked. Im not discussing some issues such as Alt-f4, duping etc as I believe standalone will resolve them anyway.

1.7.2.5 is pretty unplayable for clans - no way to store gear (tents and vehicles don't save items inside) and a lot of vehicles just vanish as soon as the server restarts and appear in their default spam locations and broken again (just lost the chopper after hours of fixing *sigh*) To lingor island, at least there should be some news there. -
Yes, vehicles & pitched tents do not transfer servers.

If you find a vehicle and save it, I know you have it on the server you played on but if you logon to another server and log back on the server you found it on, is it still there or do you need to play on that server only to be able to keep the vehicle?

Are the AS50 and m107 going to be in the standalone?

As someone in a different threat stated: it's time for a complete reset of all the stats, vehicles, weapons and tents. But first they need to address the duping issue. After all that AS50, M107, SVD Camo and other very rare items will be rare again. They don't need to remove any weapon from the game, they just have to add more different types. I bet you that if the duping and hacking is fixed in the standalone, this weapons will be rare as fu*** -
All tents and vehicles have been completely wiped...after the hive crashed.

I wish vehicles did get reset nightly, its horse shit that people hoard them from everyone else... I see people taking bicycles just to have them, they dont even use them -
I completely understand OPs issues, but its Alpha and core components are still being developed so gameplay will be changing over the years, hell even the stand alone is starting in an Alpha for so ya. Here is my 2cents experience on what I have seen this game come from to what it is now. *WARNING LONG POST* When this mod first came out it was an experience myself and my group had never experienced before. We have played ARMA2 for awhile now so, we knew this map pretty well, but we still felt lost and unsure on what to do, how and where we go and what to do. ALMOST EVERYONES first week of playing should be like this without the consequence of getting capped near a town like Elektro or Cherno. I know for atleast 4 weeks I never died nor did I just shoot at anyone. Everyone early on was like "wtf is this, yo dude can you help me. Man these zombies are scary as fuck (as u go prone next to them)" . The immersion was so insane and it made you addicted. Finally we find an airfield, still not getting into firefight at this point, and we find a DMR. WOW A SNIPER! *FAP FAP FAP*. Our first thought wasn't to kill each other or anything, but felt safer that we had a sniper now in our group. THe game is still early alpha and not a single "BIG" youtuber had even heard of it or had interest in it nor did popular websites like 4chan, reddit, etc. Finally after about a month more people started to hear about this mod and it got server populated pretty fast. We encountered a bandit for the first time. We killed him and was like wow that was close. But that moment stuck with us forever. He didn't tell us to stop moving he just saw my group of 5 and started shooting. From there on we said to ourselves, "trust no1". So we ended up going up and down the coast line and ran into 3 dudes. Both groups halting and freaking out BUT STILL NOT SHOOTING. After about 15min of talking back and forth we recruited them into our group. NOW we are running 12 -14 guys deep nightly on a server. Now early on food and water was so easy to get, you never had to worry. Now I feel like food and water are more scarce and harder to get ahold of, so we as a team designate peopel roles for ammo, weapons, food, water, medical supplies etc. THis type of immersion has never happened in a game before. Also during this time there was no vehicles so we just went to airfield looking for endgame gear and getting into small skirmishes, but the experience was different everytime NOW lets jump to now. Now there are over 1million UID and 1k's of servers. So a new player spawns on shore gets killed 5min into going into elektro and cherno without warning, without help, without mercy. No1 helps eachother. No1 is patient to group up. Everything is SHoot then ask questions. No1 groups up unless your friends. Endgame gear has been duped / hacked in so much that there is a huge influx of endgame gear circulating the mod. Was it expected? Yes, definately since Arma2 is a scripted based game. We who played early on knew this would happen but not as bad as it is now. I mean just last night, I spawn on coast, go into cherno, kill a guy with my axe and get all gear and a hacked as50 thermal (cool btw but fucking lame). I burry the body so no1 can get this gear again. I drop all the hacked items and end gear in water and wait for it to dissapear. No one chooses to be a hero (majority of the players). Everyone is running around using as50, m107, NVGs, etc is all starter towns killing new players and its Bullshit. So now sicne my group is tired of this faggotry, we decided that all 12 of us will slowly purge the campers of these towns. We go into servers in our secret spots (NO not ontop of cherno factories, thats too obvious and everyone spawns there hahah) and we kill these people and hide their bodies without looting them. I personally think until a good dupe fix is out and DB is wiped clean to start all gear and players clean this type of gameplay will continue. Hacking cant and wont be stopped since only battle eye can do that. Its in alpha stage, yes I get that which is why i and many others suggest a HIVE wipe and start everyone over clean again. If there is more risk in losing weapons and gear becasue duping is fixed the best of its ability people might find out how to play this game. Will gear get duped and circulated again? Yes of course, but it will be slower since everyone will be starting fresh with NOTHING and nothing saved etc. TL version : Game/mod was awesome and best immersive gameplay before it got so popular. Now just a fag fest of noobs thinking its funny to shoot then ask questions. Solution: Fix duping to best ability and wipe DB/HIVE and have everyone start completely over 1) better data gathering 2)People learn and see how game is supposed to be played. Also not meaning to plug my buddies videos, but he captures all the moments from early on that NO ONE ever gets anymore EVER This video is the very famous "Battle at Devils Castle" that many people here on DayZ Forums has seen. This was a large battle we secretly organized for 7 hours. This was also when Dsyncing was so bad that you moved it desync'd so it might seem "bad" but the mod was uh haha not smmoth, but the experience was just so insane I feel bad for those unable to be able to get this Also here is his playlist with all early footage

If you get a vehicle: Old Bike: - Play either Queen: Bicycle race or Ridin Dirty over direct chat! -This is the ultimate indestructible weapon of Trollhala. Bling Bling around players and bring zombies to them. - Indestructible it is, because of a bug, if you disembark and get on as driver again, the bicycle fully heals. ATV (All Tripping Vehicle) : - Go into a town and honk. - Play the Warthog song over direct chat. (youtube and search for Warthog song.) - Drive over bridges and railroads as fast as possible. - If you flip it, get off as quickly as possible and wait till another players comes and helps you flip it over. BUS (Big Unmaneuverable Suicide): -Pick up random people on the coast at gunpoint -Shoot them if they talk on the BUS: Tractor: - Buy farming simulator and get some practice, remember, the zombies are "wheat" you need to drive over and harvest. Motorcycle: -Find a friend and honk around Stary Sobor on the sniper hills, bonus points for breaking sniper's legs. Ural: - Find other vehicles and ram them off the road, saying you are the truck police. - Bonus points if you have a whole swat team of friends in it, then park at a contested building in Cherno or Electro and let everyone disembark and wreck the building. - Tents are your enemies, drive over them. UAZ or Military Offroad: -You are pretty much set gamewise. Get some friends and play military police, a UNO peacekeeping unit (bonus points if you find blue helmets) or be a medevac (drive over people, then heal them.) Civilian cars: - Drive only offroad with it, it's seriously a lot faster on it if you imagine it is! - Taxi people, take bullets as payment, preferably from the barrel. Fishing Boats: - Let a friend drive it and then run past him, mocking him. PBX (Plumber Bro Xtreme): - Do marytime raids on Electro and Cherno at night without NVG's, if you hit a rock, you won the game. - Drive over people swimming, punish those who disturb Neptune's slumber! Helicopter: - Let the most newbiest of your group drive the chopper, if they didn't do the chopper tutorial, even better. Believe me, it will pay off. - Constantly shoot the Miniguns when you are the gunner. - Try doing para drops into forests, 5 points for leaf trees, 10 points for pine trees, 0 points if you miss all the trees. - Troll your friends as a pilot by shutting off the engine and say the engine is out, telling them to eject eject! And remember kids, the more you honk, the cooler you are!

If you do join us, make sure you have downgraded to 1.7.2.4. Just another update to the community. As I like to keep everyone informed and up to date on what we are doing. If you want to join a server with active admins, no downtime, all vehicles and tents saving properly and just about all vehicles are still in their spawn points. Then come on over and give us a try. Our server is routed out of Dallas, TX and set to UTC -6 and runs day and night. We do not reset the time when it becomes night. We use our flashlights and play the game as intended. We do use veteran setting with 3DP ON, CH ON, nameplates off, waypoints ON. BUT we are open to the community and listen to all suggestions for changing settings to the players liking. -
Option 1) Don't use vehicles/tents until they're fixed and stfu. Option 2) Don't play alpha versions of games and stfu. Option 3) stfu. Your call bro.

no not bad luck. in 1.7.2.5 when u fix up a a vehicles it will respawn back it its spawn point after the server resets. u cant do anything about it. its just a pug
