Hello dayz community, We were playing me and 2 other friends on the server DK11 around 1 and 5am (Gmt +1) and we notice a flying helicopter above electro that crashes close to the city like 10min later and 2 other players (jordan and if i remember well the team tag [ASS]Alpha) disconnect immediately. We assume they failed to drive it and ragequit the game (there were only the 5 of us on the server) and we proceed to go to cherno. When we get to the city we noticed that the 2 same players jordan and alpha recconect, and like 5min later they are above us in another helico. We run away of the city with our vehicles and hide in the forrest. The helicopter then passed so close to our position that if it was daylight they would have easily saw us. We waited there for 5min and disconneted. The fact that they crashed an helicopter , diconnected, reconnected later, got a brand new heli just few minutes after that and knew exactly where we were led us to think that these 2 people are hackers because it really seems highly unlikely that a totally functional and full of fuel helicopter appears like magic near their spawn point. Thanks for considering this message.

Yea, they should drop everything to focus on fixing a mod that might break Arma2, you know the actual game you purchased to play the free mod, instead of trying to make a polished version for release. Some of the forum moderators are dicks, but it is often in response to some whiny child expecting the world of a testing alpha that needs a separate platform to be fixed (you know what they are hopefully working on right now). You answer the same whiny question thirty times a day and tell me you will not get a little frustrated by the endless amount of people whining about an unfinished product. It is not like they told you the alpha was the finished project, so people should just be happy they can play anything. I actually think this is exhibit A in any case for not allowing public Alpha testing because the people playing the unfinished product seem to think it should work all the time. I read the post you are referencing and it was about a 120 pages of people whining about their tents, whining about vehicles, saying they were over it, or complaining about the lack of patches to fix the problem. Not only does the community get the problems, so do the developers who are working to fix the problems for a stand alone. So stop playing until the stand alone comes out and if you are that worried wait for a few weeks and see if problems are resolved. But for the love of God stop coming on the forums to bitch about the same topic for weeks on end (oh I could not see in the airfield and was too lazy to just log or try one of the many other fixes).

Global Board to post: missions, request help, offer trade and post contracts
Mane (DayZ) posted a topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Hello community, as i was just surfing this forum and the reddit dayz-threads, i realised something. At every given moment the community of dayz is searching for ways to get more out of the game in context of endgame-content and team driven efforts. The fun and emotions in dayz come from player interaction. At minimum this means teaming up but it goes on to creating a small camp with vehicles and tents and then there is more. There are great projects out there, people offering rescue, trade outposts, taxi services, mercenary´s for hire, clan wars going on etc. This is all great but what i think is missing is some kind of central information hub. Think about dayzmod.com (or another name) where every server has it´s own page showing: A section where it is possible to: leave messages for others, request help or a teamup, offer missions, offer bountys, post trade requests. maybe a map of the map running on the server where you can mark locations and leave messages attached to it maybe even the number of claimed/free vehicles etc. Also clans could try to lay a claim on a server by leaving a message for other clans on the serverpage. There are more possibilities if you have ideas chime in. Exceptionally great would be a chat Area where you can team up and join together at a specific location. Plus the usual serverinfo that can be found on sites like gametracker.com and a shiny join Button. I think this would really push the game on a completely new level. Right now (i know it´s alpha) if i wanna play i just start on a random server and hope to find some friendlys for a teamup. Now, i know a big part of the community is already organized in different clans over different websites but this leads to fragmentation. For example to find out about the trade outpost i have to find the correct forum and check the right thread for the proper time, trade requests are on reddit and here etc. Imagine you go onto dayzmod.com click on play and first you get the main page with an overview of whats happening on dayz as a whole, with a worldmap showing how many instances are up per country. A ticker with information in realtime with info: Where players are searching for a teamup, which tradestations are up and running, if a medical rescue service is up, if someone just discovered and shared a camp location (which could be trap). You click on one of these and jump direct into the game or you choose to go onto a specific serverpage and check a specific server for missions or messages or if someone published your campsite. Maybe another clan or the "bandit alliance" had the audacity to lay a claim on your homeserver etc. Many ideas and a rough concept. Maybe some people get the idea. I attached a crude mockup of how it could look like (very very crude done, in paint and i am no web designer). What are your opinions on something like this? How would you design the global welcome page or the specific serverpages? The game is in alpha let´s get some ideas for interfaces together i know there are really talented people out there, show us what can be done. Thanks for reading, even more thanks if i get some responses. And beans will be given out to designs and well written good ideas. (English is not my native tongue, if i butchered the language i am sorry) tl;dr Dayz needs an infopage for every server to check for missions, trades, wars, help requests etc. -
Dayz 1.7.3 Suggestion - Vehicle Reset

This would be a great idea as people mentioned if it could be continuos. One reset for all vehicles wont work; it must be on a regular basis -
Vehicle and tent questions???
Silverfade357 replied to Silverfade357's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Thanks for the answers, I guess vehicles are really not worth it then because you spend all this time looking for parts and then next time you sign in the vehicles are just gone. Hopefully this will be better when the actual game comes out. -
Alpha testing is over for mod
Angel Knight replied to RECphantom's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I would rather the vehicles save properly. I hate walking for 10m (minutes, not meters) to meet my friends, especially after I've wasted time locating and repairing a car. I will of course be happy to see the hackers gone, but right now I have more of a problem with bugs and features not working than I do with hackers. I've only been killed by hackers twice, although everyone else and their mother says they are scriptkilled/teleported/thunderdomed daily. -
Need help! My gun randomly fires when i am not clicking the left mouse button, also happened in vehicles? my mouse is fine? does anyone know why this is happening and have a possible solution? Luckily i have a silenced assualt rifle, but when i dont eventually i dont want to be spotted etc by zombies and players. Thanks.

So it is shoot on site, but vehicles are every where, mind*uck!! So if i find a vehicle in woods, say its someones with lots of loot, kinda like a bandit camp, do i leave it or take it? And again, i can kill anyone or see, i dont mind not, i just dont want to assume its a non pvp server to be shoot in the back, and ill come on tomorrow, about 10am. Is there anyway i can communicate to friendlys when i play. My in game name is Will Interesting name i know. See ya soon.. :P -
Your english is not that good so It's difficult to understand you and therefore you may find it difficult to read english also, So I'm going to try and explain this the best I can. If you pickup an AS50 TWS off a dead body OR out of a Tent, etc It is not Legit! These weapons are NOT found in the Mod, So it was Scripted into the game by a cheater so Picking one up and using it puts YOU at risk of being banned for Scripting, So if you ever find one, Just leave it there. Secondly, I have read through the thread and it sounds to me that you or someone in your "group" is a scripter because no one is that "lucky" to able to gear up with those sort of items and have items to repair vehicles right by them.. If you are NOT a scripter than I'd sudgest staying away from your group before they get you into a more serious ban. The evidence is stacked against you honestly, So just move on. If this was on a Server I owned I'd also would have banned you.

Thats what I am afraid of death at a camp could lead to discovery you know tent bugs and such if you see a player die in the middle of no where with no close by players could indicate tent bug or something else. I don't see how this helps detect hackers in fact it could cause a lot of bans for people who are innocent. Scenario: Survivor A is killed by hacker he is 10 meters away the nearest player is Survivor B at 20 meters totally unaware on the other side of a building, Hill , Thicket of trees. Admin checks logs see survivor a who complained of hacker was killed and when and where notices survivor B was close to A and assumes he must be hackers friend as he hasn't died ! Scenario: Survivor Jimmy has made a nice camp has a few vehicles and tents. He is riding his bike back to camp when he runs into a tree and kills himself Admin A checks logs finds Jimmy was killed at location in the middle of no where. Admin investigates with high hopes finds camp.

Damn man, that sucks. There are vehicles around the map somewhere. We just lost a chopper and ural. But upon reset you won't lose anything from our server. Everything saves properly, so feel free to check us out and see what you think. -
Save them more than once? and I'm no server admin but sometimes if you restart, vehicles don't show up until you restart again.

wow lots of questions. ok.....we found your camp because we flew over it. if you've ever been in a helicopter you know its not hard to spot tents, especially if there is a cluster of them. i usually like to fly around the western and northern perimeter as you can spot many camps that way. also what i noticed first was a hatchback next to your tents. when we came back the second time it was gone. like i said before, I was the pilot and have no idea why you couldnt see me. after you killed theron, i tried to take off but you hit the engine again so it powered down. I got out and ran down the hill and flanked around behind but because it took so long you fixed and flew off with the heli before i got around. i have only witnessed the invisibility thing that wasnt a hack once with a friend of mine. it wasnt a hack it was a glitch. i could only see his face, gun, and shoes. everything else was invisible. seemed like some kind of glitch where the clothes didnt load. not sure if this could have been the same problem. as to the heli repairing: i know that with things like the bus and some other vehicles, if you bump into something, sometimes you lose a wheel. if you get out and get back in, sometimes its magically repaired. i dont know why but seems to be just another dayz glitch. the problem with all the glitches is that its hard to distinguish a glitch from a hack sometimes

I love dayZ, but it gets very boring for me sometimes. There was a mod that was taken down that made an SP version possible. It looked very cool, you could spawn vehicles that need to be repaired, different clothing, weapons, etc. As a player, I would love to see this. Yours truly, Partyfox1

This is getting ridicules where are the devs in the forums? where are the updates its been over 3 weeks (thats if you count that bullshit update called 1.7.5 that did nothing). This isnt a laughing matter where are the updates are the devs too busy sucking each others di**s? Honestly i know its an alpha/beta but this isnt my first time in the rodeo, i have played a ton of other betas and all of them have hard working devs working around the clock and updating within days to fix issues. To make matters worse the game consists of SERIOUSSS bugs that make the game unplayable that havent been fixed 3 weeks going now. Bugs like artrifects everywhere, tents/vehicles not saving. Its stupid how bad these guys are. GET UR ASS IN GEAR AND GET TO WORK. For those who want to troll let me answer a few questions before hand. This is only an alpha = Thats all the more reasons we should be seeing updates every other day This is a fan made game= Look at the amount of players playing this. Its time to hire a few extra people dont ya think? There is a standalone so they are working on that = That is no excuse for not working on the mod.. hire separate teams. Let me do the math for you. There 1147500 users each paying $30 each for this game. That totals to $ 34,425,000 dollars in 4 months of production in an alpha stage game that doesnt even have auto installer. There are companies that would kill to have those numbers and here you guys are completely wasting it. Im tired of seeing all the people quitting everyday because of ur too busy not doing anything. Again get ur shit together and fix the problems. The fact is if you dont fix this mod your standalone wont amount to much. Keeping the community happy should be more important right now then abandoning 1.1 MILLION fans (i say fans because you really need to be one to buy 2 games then manually downloading a mod)

Training over time (Character skilling)
xximrtwoixx replied to Gordon Axeman's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Death should suck, and skills or anything that can not be taken by another player should not be tied to your account becaues that would negate perma death, all it would do is reset your location... WTF is the point of content if there is no value in it, we're advocating for having things included just to have them? That makes no sense, if there is no point or so little value that people don't care if they have them then why even have that content in the game?? IMO Skills should be important, if your not "skilled" with a gun can you reload it in seconds or take it apart and clean it?? If you don't know how to drive a stick shift car are you making a quick escape with the car? Can any average joe jump in a chopper and fly it? Skills and what your skilled in should have some measurable effects, the balance is that you get to pick what ones you have and there would be some way to improve/learn them while playing the game. There is a huge difference in saying someone should not have an advantage because they play more and saying in a heads up fight there should be no difference. If you did not have tangible benefits from playing longer/more what would be the point this would simply be another pure FPS shooter like COD/Battlefield, where gameplay is jump in jump out and nothing really persists. So long as skills do not effect the amount of health or damage dealt then they have no effect on player conflict, if your better at aiming or can set up an ambush then you win at PVP, I to want this preserved because its part what I think is so appealinga and refreshing about DayZ. I think skills can be implemented in such a way as to have little to no effect on direct combat, but can have huge effects on surviving and indirect combat like reloading, weapon maintenence, piloting vehicles, etc. -
Player activity heat map w/ travel routes - Also my random day Z tips
LeninTheRed posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
So I've been playing Day Z for a little over a month and I'm starting to get a pretty good feel for the game. A few weeks ago, I decided I'd start keeping track of what routes I used to get various places and how often I encountered a player along the way. I put this together with loot maps, the experiences of other players, lots of youtube footage, common knowledge, and a fair bit of guess work, and came up with a map to use as a general guideline for where I was most likely to encounter another person. I've always been a solo player. No clans will accept me because I can't use voice chat (My sons crib is right next to my desk and I can only play quite late at night), so its always been a necessity for me to figure out how to survive on my own. So far the best way I've found to do this is non-confrontation, and an emphasis on survival when contact does occur. Unless I think a player saw me, or I think I am likely to meet them at my next destination, I let them pass. To date, I have never been killed by a player. However I always pay careful attention to where they are going and where they were coming from, and most importantly by what route they went there. This has given me a unique opportunity to notice trends in player movement and anticipate where I'm most likely to run into trouble, thus, this map. Unsurprisingly, most people stick to the trees and take the shortest route between to points that has consistent tree cover. Keep in mind, this is still just my opinion. I'd love to see other people add to this, I think something like this could be a very useful resource (as long as its not put out by the devs, which is obviously unfair and ruins a whole dimension of meta-gaming for day Z) if it were contributed to by competent players and experienced groups. I'll take all the suggestions on this thread every week or 2 and update the map accordingly if anyone cares. That said if your contribution is to call me an idiot because my map sucks, please post somewhere else. I know it sucks, it was initially for personal use, and I decided to add a legend and share it here for people who might be interested. If you aren't interested, that is fine, but I really don't need to hear about it. Anyway here it is -------------------- Resources Here's a bunch of my favorite resources for day Z (Many i'm sure you know already) http://dayzmap.info/ - Interactive map with loot probablity tables, very nice & fast. http://dayzdb.com/map - A very polished and comprehensive map with loot tables & even vehicles. http://dayzwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page - The day Z wiki! http://ttp2.dslyecxi.com/basic_rifleman.html - An enormous, comprehensive, and wonderful guide for the default game, ARMA II. It answers many questions you might have and offers a wide range of beautifully illustrated and well explained strategies that apply to Day Z. I recommend every Day Z player read this, excluding the parts which obviously don't apply to Day Z. ----------------- Tips, rules, and random observations. These are my rules for solo survival, take em or leave em. I added one every time I ran into trouble. The Rules: Rule #1 - NEVER RUN IN TOWN Rule 1A - Unless you've agro'd a zombie, then sprint for the nearest large building and attempt to shake/fight the zombies. Rule #2 - Engage any player who might be aware of your presence or location. In the event that this is not possible or is unsafe, make a stealthy retreat as soon as it is safe. Do not engage a player if it can be avoided. Do not approach the players body to loot if there is any doubt it can be safely recovered. Rule #3 - When combat with a group is inevitable, determine the existence/location of any possible overwatch/sniper element. If one exists, engage and destroy it with as few shots as possible, making a quick retreat out of the line of sight of the main group as soon as it is destroyed. Rule 3A - If close combat with a group is inevitable, IE in a town, attempt to sneak as close to the enemy as possible and intermingle with his ranks. They will often hesitate to fire to determine if you are friendly over team speak, giving you an advantage. This has saved my life more than once. Rule #4 - The hospital just isn't worth it man. Rule #5 - Cooked meat is King. Always have at least 4 cooked meat on you whenever possible. Replace canned foods with cooked meat as you build up your pantry. Rule #6 - Keep only one food & water in your main inventory, keep the rest in the bag. Rule #7 - Keep at least one pain pills in main inventory at all times. Rule #8 - Eat & drink before leaving any building which has food or drink that you cannot take with you. Rule #9 - Do not enter a building with a zombie in it. Just don't. Rule #10 - The further NorthWest you encounter a player, the more likely they are to be well equipped. Rule #11 - Small night time servers can be safe, but beware that these have a higher rate of players with Night vision goggles, which are obviously extremely dangerous. Rule 11A - Deploy FLARES to blind NVG users from very far away. Test showed good effect (quite good) up to 250m. For this reason flares take massive priority over chemlight (much less effect). Rule #12 - If you find a chopper location, take note of the server and the location. You can find out what server your on by holding the "I" key. Rule #13 - Examine any particularly thick or dense cluster of trees that cannot easily be seen through. You sometimes find tents and repaired vehicles in this area. This has been a very profitable practice. Rule #14 - Loot quality has an inverse relationship with player activity. The better the loot in an area, the more likely it is there is a player nearby. The worse/more sparse, the less likely you are to encounter someone. Rule #15 - Zombies can knock you out if you are below 9,000 blood. This is often fatal. Hunt for cooked meat to get above 9,000 blood before entering an area with zombies if it is at all possible. I'm sure there will be more rules to come, I'd love to see everyone else's rulebook :D. Tips: Here's some advice I offered to another forum I frequent, where many people including myself learned of DayZ and eventually decided to buy ARMA II for it. "Here are some quick tips: G opens your Gear (inventory). In your Gear list, the number to the Right of the item is the number of that item you have. The number on the LEFT of the item in your item list is how many are on the dead body/on the ground. That took me a long time to learn. When you are bleeding (indicated by the cross sign on your blood drop meter), open inventory with G, right click a bandage, and hit bandage myself. This takes a few seconds and fails when interrupted. You wont lose the bandage until you are successfully bandaged though. NEVER, EVER, EVER RUN IN TOWN! Z, X, and C are your stance buttons. Z is prone, X is crouch and C is stand. Always be in crouch or prone position when near anywhere that zombies spawn (like town). Press shift twice to switch your default movement from run to walk, then hold shift when you need to run. 95% of my deaths are traceable to having ran in town. If your screen is shaking badly, you are in pain. Take some painkillers and the shaking will stop. if you break a bone (broken bone icon on HUD) you'll need to take morphine (same as bandaging, right click in inventory) When starting you'll need a weapon. The following list is listed from Safest (at the bottom) to most profitable (at the top). These two things have an inverse relationship in Day Z, the more weapons and the better the weapons are in a place, the less safe it is due to player traffic. Barracks (very rare) Airfields Fire stations (have military grade loot for some reason) Chopper crashes (so rare to actually find one that there are almost never players around since almost no one knows where they are, i've only ever seen one) Deer stands (only one loot spot, not really worth checking usually since you can be seen from so far away while your in one/approaching one) Office buildings Barns (Best place to find weapons early on IMO, high rate of Winchesters/Enfields and unparalleled safety. The order of the day is to become 2 things: Self sustaining and deadly. To this end, you need a rifle, plenty of ammo, about 3-5 food items, 2 cans of drink and 2 refillable water bottles, 2 painkillers, 2 morphine, 4 bandages, night vision goggles, also preferably a map (GPS is so rare I wont even mention it), a hatchet, matches, and a knife. Once you have all of these things you can survive for extended periods in the woods, rarely having to go to town for anything. You can then hunt players who travel in the forests at night (Often in a dead sprint and paying no attention) for intermittent ammo, etc. You can refill your bottles at any lake or even the ocean, also at water pumps. You can hunt wild game for meat and chop wood for a fireplace with the ahtchet. The cooked meat refills a lovely 800 blood so you can use it to recover from a fight gone wrong. When you are being attacked by a zombie (If you see one approaching you with any kind of speed, its after you). Go into stand position and SPRINT AS FAST AS YOU CAN! NO matter how many other zombies you attract or how many players might see you. Run for the nearest semi-large building or building with only one entrance. Once inside take a knee and let the zombies come in. Zombies are forced to walk inside buildings and it is much easier to take them out in a bottleneck and walking than it is with them zig zag running around. NEVER EVER engage more than one zombie out in the open. If its only one zombie, sprint to where there are no other zombies, turn around and drop it very quickly. The goal with zombies is simple: Not one bite. One hit is enough to put you in a situation that could ultimately kill you." ----------------------------- I'll update my heatmap as I notice trends change and as other people offer advice or criticism on it. I'll update the rules as new ones come along or as other people post good ones. Of course that's assuming anyone cares (unlikely). -Lenny -
My group actually prefers to not go player hunting except on certain occasions, but the current vehicle problems make fixing vehicles a pain and somewhat of a waste of time. With the duping problem breaking the balance it is not hard to gear up, and if you are like my group you made a camp that is now replicating itself (on accident we did not purposefully dupe gear) making high level loot runs somewhat of a waste. We fixed up a total of 9 cars this weekend and lost two to restarts and three to crashes, but we still have two offroad trucks, a hatchback, and a van but I expect all to be gone on server restart. So my question is what is left to do, kill zombies?

Vehicle and tent questions???
Zombie Jesus replied to Silverfade357's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I will number you questions for ease. 1. Usually not. 2. The couple of times a vehicle survived a restart (out of 9 vehicles only 3 have survived) the gear never survived. 3. Do not think so. 4. Until server restart, if working properly for quite some time if alive and I think death it will wipe after restart if not saved. 5. Tents are very have big issues, but if you put a fresh tent down and put gear in the tent and save it only once it will probably survive a restart. In fact it will do something else weird but I will refrain from saying what because why make another duper. 6. It is supposed to, but considering they all disappear I have no clue. Finally, it was most likely a server bug, but you never know. -
I don't mind surviving alone, stock piling ammo, and working on vehicles. When you do this all alone, it takes a lot more time.
-
yup my mate was messing around with his gear then scrolled his mouse and basically when he said threw a grenade he basically ment dropped it at his feet killing himself and me instantly. Yup 18 days of wandering the map and picking up better gear and repairing a few vehicles, gone in the scroll of a mouse.

US 488 Closure - 5th event triggering several disheartening hate-mail
VLG Castiel posted a topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
TL;DR: Flak from the community passed the limits. Closure This post (and a follow-up on the community website) marks the closure of US 488. We MAY have it be picked up by someone else, but to be safe, I recommend taking all your things out of the server as soon as you can and enjoy your vehicles for the time it still has (server will run for another month) - Even if that is to happen, there'll likely be a week-long downtime in the process. Reason Paying and maintaining DayZ servers has officially given more pain than pleasure over time, I don't know how it is to fellow server admins out there (a considerably few now that there are thousands of servers), but over the course of these few months the small community supporting this has been endlessly trashed and received a tremendous amount of hate-mail. Admin access is locked to a grand total of two members. However, guaranteeing there's no admin abuse doesn't mean you're not going to be called on it. It's just something we have to accept and move on from and frankly, the time those things have taken from us is unbearable, even further affecting the rest of the members of the small community for the flexible users who can find them elsewhere through their nicknames and harass them there (it's that bad). Latest Example < removed > - After over 20 mails filled with profanity, the maker of the semi-popular video formally apologized for his mistake. To avoid having a server with inactive admins (that tends to lead to a hacker-heaven despite BattlEye's best continued efforts), we're not just ignoring everything and let it be an abandoned home for those of us who play (especially new-found members that have sticked around). We're closing it and possibly moving the donation to a different game. Thanks for the support so far and for playing in our servers these last months. -
I hate the idea of points, it's too much to balance, and it'll inevitably lead to a "right build" that everyone will copy and paste. No go. You want new abilities? Find a toolbox. As for spawning with your clan, that's not my cup of tea. If I had my druthers, I'd try to minimize players forming teams before starting to play. A big part of the game for me is being alone and having a chance to meet people who can help or hurt my chances. If I have a reliable team of helpers already lined up, then the risk/reward calculations for dealing with strangers is quickly skewed all the way over to "God will know his own". For the sake of the sociological experiment, I think the game might benefit from a "quick play only" kind of system, where you don't know where you'll spawn, who you'll meet or where your neighbor/brother/coworker is. You can't be sure your tent is on this server, you can't know where you left the Ural, you don't get to carry anything with you, either from the real world or from previous plays. Death is a huge problem then, and survival takes its rightful place at center stage. It costs you some, since you can't play with buddies you know, but you can play with buddies you meet. Letting people spawn in as a platoon just reduces the challenge and takes the focus away from surviving and puts it on... what? Hoarding loot? Massacring solo players and smaller groups? Fixing up all the vehicles and tucking them in the woods? The game gets crappier and crappier the better you do at it. The problem with DayZ is that it's too easy to reach escape velocity and leave the game behind. Then you're in some kind of dumb limbo, where you can't enjoy just staying alive anymore, your actions have no more reward to offer and all you can do is dick around. You spawn in, you tell your friends where you are, they send a guy on an ATV to collect you and you're geared up and in your shantytown within fifteen minutes. That's not easy enough for you? Even if you don't have a tent city and some vehicles, your buddies can meet you with a gun and a map and some food and drink and medicine within ten minutes from almost any starting point. You had something better to be doing during that time? You want to spawn in, take a 1911 and an AKM from a pal's pack and start sprinting for the NWAF?
