So here's the story. Friday night I decided to play some DayZ. I had been playing a few hours when I came across this SUV. Of course it needed some TLC (Engine, wheels, fuel, etc.) So I decided to take on the project seeing how it wasn't far from Cherno. After 2 hours of scavenging parts I finally had my very own vehicle. After completing it, there was noone else on the server (Damn...4AM EST came quick) So I decided to head up to the airbase and look for some higher end weapons. Needless to say after driving around hitting the hotspots I had a pretty nice collection of weapons and ammo. So I decided I would take it up far North into the wilderness and hide my stash. So my SUV is "hidden" and I log out beside it so that I can wake up in the morning and hop right in and take off. So I wake up in the morning, eat some breakfast, then login to DayZ. I log in and I look around and my newly built machine is nowhere to be seen. It had only been 4 hours and someone had already found my fucking vehicle. By this time my piss is boiling, I was already pissed that my girlfriend woke me up at 8 AM, but now my god damn vehicle is missing. Flash forward to tonight, I decided to look for a new vehicle so I have the map up on my second monitor running between vehicle spawn points when I see, in the woods...you guessed it, MY SUV! I'm not gonna lie I got kinda happy. I went running towards it when it started to drive away! It caught me off guard and my heart stopped a moment. It was in a valley and it started driving up the side of the hill so I decided to follow it (I pretty much ran same speed as it drove up the hill) The bastard that had stolen it led me straight to his camp. He had 3 vehicles total and a load of tents. I sat there with my DMR watching him, seeing if he had any allies around. I sat there watching him go between vehicles/tents unloading his supplies. He's standing at the back of my truck when I decided I've seen enough and I shot him in the back of the head, instant death. I sat there a few minutes waiting to see if there was any movement, my heart was racing. After awhile I ran up to the camp and started to raid it. I checked my SUV, it still had pretty much the same items that I had in it so I knew for sure it was mine. I went around to all the tents, took out all the good stuff and loaded up one of his V3S Civilian's. I then ran over seven tents full of ammo/guns/food/etc and left a couple empty tents standing. (Sorry, I didn't think to record any of that) Here is where the video picks up. I go around to show you what is in each vehicle, I wish I had recorded what was in the tents before I ran them over. Sorry for the wall of text but I figured it was a pretty funny story. tl;dr: Watch the video, you'll get the jest of it.

- Fix zombies not spawning in locations which you drive in by yourself/s in a vehicle so you wouldn't be able to tell if there is players already in there , no zombies no players move on z, so annoying when u drive to the middle of a ghost town major city with few people u get out and surprise welcome party by 50 zombies spawning, . - Make 1 boss zombie spawn per city with buffed HP and damage with special skin not like tank of l4d built but enough to shit yourself going in there by yourself and need 1 -3 people to take it down and it drops good supplies and maybe a coyote or alice, maybe a big hillbilly zombie. - More zombies in major cities too easy to move around, plus that addition of special zombie in there will make it hard to loot main cities making it more realistic. - Revamp damage for snipers and add cross wind to make it harder to snipe and stop long range campers. - Make trunks or contains constructible to put loot in, maybe add iron u can find like in quarry or something plus tools, so they're non squishy like tents. - MAKE VEHICLES KILLS count toward your score especially in Huey killed so many and it doesn't count or running bandits over. - Fix Zombies being transparent and going through everything. - Have the apartments in the game fully accessible I mean every room that would be sick having a gunfight in there. - Make it so you can take parts out of a vehicle rather than just putting them in. - You cant get killed by opening a door into yourself when your standing - Put a Uni-cycle in the game and when you get on it your skin turns to a clown and the horn makes a honking noise so you can aggravate whole cities of zombies.

^ The red barn yea? I was ambushed there once, didn't end well for the other guy, but yes, it's a great location. Ambushing near stary is pretty much the best place, many players and vehicles, you could also ambush at Oldfields, there is a high chance for a helicopter crah site spawning there, i've ran into many there.

With the release of Dark Souls PC just 2 days away i thought that it would be a nice little thing to do before i quit until the stand alone release. In this topic i will be starting a new character 100% from scratch, and try to get him as geared as i possibly can 100% legit before i quit. This means no looting dead players, no looting tents, no looting vehicles that other players have fixed, no looting random loot piles other people have left. also, i will not glitch in any way purposely. Now, starting off; at 6:30pm eastern 8/21/2012 Server: US 276 (was randomly chosen from list because of its current 16 people online. medium amount of people) Spawn: west side of kemenka (like a 3 minute run west of it :( ) ONE ENGINE INSIDE THE BAG FROM THE INDUSTRIAL SPAWN ON THE COAST

I dunno how a survivor would get his hands on UAV and the UAV control center/vehicle with both being intact. It is a little too much tech to put back together. Besides looks overpowered for dayz gameplay :) But the video has some other very cool things that could hint at possible standalone features: - New firing positions : 1:48 - New pyrotechnics : 4:13 - Underground structures: 4:55 - Items being placed in different places in a vehicle : 5:25 - Specific dismount points for vehicles : 5:40

Nope, vehicles nor tents are saving until they fix it. Everything resets after a restart.... only grab a vehicle and go through the hassle of fixing it if you plan on using that session only.

i dont think it's going to force people to use them less at all, i dont mean to just have like 1 fuel station in the whole map, maybe a few spread out nicely but just not a gas tank in every single random town. I dont think i should need to hunt down clans just to get vehicles. Yes obviously clans are always going to have an advantage if they are smart and work together but i dont think that advantage should result in them having every vehicle within the server and then them restarting the server every time i do manage to find one myself. Yes i could easily join a clan or find other people to play with if i wanted to but i dont think i should be required to do this to be able to use the vehicles

Outside of the chopper, I believe vehicles respawn after server restart once destroyed.

No need for moar vehicle spawns. Hoarding isn't the problem. The problems are 1) hiding vehicles outside the map in the wasteland area, 2) vehicles having a one week respawn timer once they're destroyed.

Wait... so you want to decrease the amount of fuel available... thus making clans who "horde" vehicles use them even less... thus making the chance of you stealing them smaller? Hmmm.... Vehicles are ridiculously easy to get. We get them all the time, and then lose them all the time. Use a little thought logic and you'll be able to find the vehicles pretty easily. And when you see a vehicle moving, try to determine where they might be going, and if you have some friends on around the map, let them know you saw a vehicle and to be ready. Depending on the situation it's possible to swipe one from underneath a clans nose. We've done it once before. It's really easy to find the vehicles.. And why shouldn't a group working together not be able to put their combined manpower together to outwork people playing solo? I don't understand how anyone have problems finding people to play with in today's gaming world with Teamspeak, Ventrillo, Mumble, and guild's constantly recruiting.

Alright guys im just going to go outright and say it that the current vehicle system is just awful. Basically with every single damned server owned by massive clans now and vehicle hoarding becoming ridiculous me a regular player who plays with just my one friend it is near impossible to actually get any vehicles especially the useful ones such as ural jeeps etc. Now i get that the vehicles are supposed to be rare and everything but i think having only a couple of vehicles per server is not the way to go. With the low amount of vehicles it seems the only way to actually get any vehicles is to join up with a clan instilling a mob mentality that just results in more vehicle hoarding. This wouldn't even be so bad except for the admin abuse where if i ever do manage to find a vehicle someone has hid (seeing as they never actually spawn anymore) the server just gets restarted by butthurt admins and i lose it again. So basically my solution is that we implement a lot more vehicle spawns but we take away the majority of gas tanks. This is going to make for a much better experience if you ask me and make people a lot smarter about how they use their vehicles at the same time. The lower amount of gas is also going to create more pvp hotspots which i guess is going to be good or bad depending on how you play the game but i personally like the idea of this seeing as no one even bothers to go up north anymore. anyway tell me what you guys think tldr: more vehicle spawns less gas spawns.

Maybe, but I will try to find one. You can only use the vehicles on a specific server though. And no, I'm not a medic

Tonight, around 11:30 PM (EST) myself and a friend were playing on US 616. We spawned at the NE airfield and were hoping to have some sniping practice. We haven't killed but two other players before, we decided to try the bandit route for a bit since being a helpful survivor has not paid off very well. (We just lost 4 vehicles after spending weeks trying to get even one, and our camps were destroyed over and over again.) But I digress.... As we spawned in we noticed that there was nobody in the area for quite some distance. This was confirmed with the L85 Thermal scope. Several minutes later I heard "Hey swag Groner! Goodbye!" and I was shot dead. The server does appear to have name tags and my name on the server is [sWAG]Groner. My partner was shot dead almost instantaneously after I died. Now I figured that this guy just spawned in behind us and got the upper hand... No harm no foul. After I calmed down from the initial excitement I logged back in on the coast and decided to run around in Cherno. (Now that I had no gear, I had a bit of a death wish.) I ran into a construction building near the coast where I spawned and picked up a hatchet and a couple of sodas. Next thing I know, I hear a survivor coming up the stairs. I thought, "Oh well, I'll just try to axe him before he gets me." To my surprise the player says over direct chat, "Hey Groner! Sorry man, I'll give you your stuff back." I of course am dumbfounded and I am waiting to be shot. Even as he dumps some of the gear I had on the ground, including a ghillie suit and L85, I am expecting to be shot again at any moment and I seriously consider just trying to end this guy's life. Instead, I try to engage him in some conversation while I record 2 videos on Fraps. You can hear me making small talk and I was trying to elicit some more info but it ended too quickly. His name tag reads "Shawn". Shawn drops a few more items and says "Here's an M9 for your trouble." Immediately I am thinking that this guy is trying to pay me off or something. Anyway, several minutes later I see "Shawn was killed." Then I hear flies. I run down to investigate and find his body halfway in a wall and not loot-able. So, here's what I think happened... (Other suggestions/ideas welcomed.) 1. A player hacked in behind us and killed us. 2. I re-spawned on the beach and the group that hacked either felt bad or thought they were going to get caught and hacked back to my new location. 3. The "Shawn" character tried to buy my silence with my L85, a ghillie, and an M9 which I don't even like. (Everyone has their price, but he probably should have given me back ALL my gear if he expected me to keep quiet! :-) ) 4. "Shawn" hacks back out again and returns to his friends, leaving an empty body behind. Has anyone run into this? All these things on their own could be coincidental, but the fact that he found me that quickly in Cherno after I spawned baffles me.... Would you be willing to give out vehicles? I expect this to be a no, but its worth a try to ask. Also do you give blood transfusions?

Alright, so first off id like to say this game is very fun. Huge map, variation in players, servers/admins, a majority of everything is a percentage of random generation. Love it. Im not dissing the game i could continue to play it how it is when its released on standalone. But since I know there is some competition with another company to set yourself apart. Please keep the realism in all items, damage to yourself and other players and definitely have to keep that curiousity going. "hmm wonder what I can find on this side of the map today, wonder if I can find any new weapons or items ot use." So one thing I noticed is there is a fair amount of weapons on this game but you have to take them how they are. It would be awesome to have some customizable parts. Maybe if I found a 50 cal sniper rifle I could find thermal scope parts for it or even a supressor to attach. Of course there are its downsides, thermal scopes are a bit heavier. Suppressors wont cause as much damage and tends to increase bullet drop. But its silent. Or maybe even finding camo material to put on your AS50 would be pretty cool. just little extras to add to your M4 or AK even spawned at a fraction of a percent, it gives people EVEN MORE to look for and HOPE for when they are looting. It really is the LITTLE things that count in a game. I must say its real hard to make any friends on this game if you dont already know people. In saying that, the "study body" option doesnt seem to work great. when the body is being studied, would be cool if it finished the examination with who they were killed by or instead how they were killed. injuries sustained, gunshot/axe/knife wounds, or just eaten alive LOL. And a quick note as far as server teleporting goes. Cant stand when your sniping someone and they turn a corner disappear for 5 minutes only to show up behind you because they joined a new server to get behind you in the current one. I think the servers need to save player coordinates. That way each individual server that you joined would have seperate coordinates for your character. No way could you join two different servers to teleport yourself, it would also get rid of any of those who seem to have dupped or hacked weapons stashed in tents or vehicles that cant be destroyed just to transfer items over. Well, at least it would make it a much more tedious process. 1 other big problem i see is people leaving the servers and just joining right back with the same names. Its hard to track other players that way. Its way to easy of a process to just change your profile name. Should be something thats fairly permanent or requires some registration. That name or email should be linked to the players ingame GUID. That way when I message a server admin I can at least tell him who the right person is. Im sure i touched on things that have already been noted. I dont have the time to read through every post to see what everyone has posted. These are just what I thought would make the game that much more fun and that much less frustrating. And I havent given my proper thanks for this mod. Thank you Rocket. I basically ordered and built a new PC just because of this game. My ps3 is now a paperweight. Zombie Survival MMO, amazingly fun. -Marine

Only time I met a hacker was in ghillie Vehicles, very very rare. Usually off map. Sounds legit. Always wondered where all the vehicles were. Surely at least once you would find one at a spawn location.

I love dayZ, but it gets very boring for me sometimes. There was a mod that was taken down that made an SP version possible. It looked very cool, you could spawn vehicles that need to be repaired, different clothing, weapons, etc. As a player, I would love to see this. Yours truly, Partyfox1

Today August 21, 2012 a group of friends (made up of 7) and myself was having a great time in OUR server. Our age range from 47 to 80 years of age. We was running through a wooded area going to Pusta and made a stop at a pond to fill our canteens, we was approached by a player riding a ATV. This player (HACKER with NO SKILLS) drove his atv under the pond, i kid you not my friends and ZOMBIES was walking on the water like jesus and shot 1 of my friends who was a distance of 40 meters away first from under water. He then shot and killed another friend, and then another. He said he had all kinds of vehicles and wanted us to drive them for him. I said NO we dont like hackers. He then shot another friend and then myself, i got very angry at this LOSER for his none skill play. You have to resort to cheating to make a score? I love the mod and think it was an awsome idea to combine military fighting with zombies. Anyhow i pay good money for this server and i now have decided NOT to renew it. This battleye thing sucks its not doing it job to detect things such as this. I have now shut the server down for the remaing time thats left in the subcription. This truly, i mean this hacker as truly ruined this game and mod for me and my friends. Any way of making these server more secured ?

I read somewhere that the Hive is going to be moved over to a villayer server instead of its current location. As that transfer is made, an update will be made to counter the problems of saving tents and vehicles atm:)

Gimme a break. To be honest, if there were no tents, these barracks would work just fine. Because of the duping currently happening, everyone's so used to just picking up an AS50 or L85 whenever they like. Without saving weapons into tents/vehicles and duping, then everyone would be running around with an AK with the tiniest portion of people with AS50s, DMRs, etc. Like it should be. Honestly I'm surprised you just haven't found a tent with a bunch of crap in it anyway - I've got all the items in the game from people I've killed or tents I've stumbled across...

If you can trust your itens on him? :D haha, i doubt that. "1.7.5" "1.7.4" ? This are 1.7.2.5 and 1.7.2.4? s ? Not sure what to reply to that, but 74% of the servers run 1.7.2.5 (15% runs 1.7.2.4) Guess 1.7.2.4 is not having issues with vehicles not saving, but im not sure. I know that 1.7.2.5 has problems, but not all servers, there are servers who has a proper saving source.

In 1.7.5 vehicles will respawn at their spawn point every restart so there's no point. Unless of course you're on 1.7.4 :P

I dont know if this problem occur on every server but I guess so. Had this so many times on so much different servers. Better dont trust vehicles in this version. I hope they will fix it in 1.7.3 cause that a terrible bug

In DayZ Vehicles they deseaper in reset or automatic? Or can i trust my itens on him?

is this a proven repair? Will the vehicles save at the point you leave them?
