Vehicles it's also fixed I think. The flipping option, I guess it didn't make it but not sure.

Still doesen't say anything about vehicles saving properly and flipping atv's.

Rocket, i was just about to post this on the pending update thread but it got locked. It would be nice to get some guideline regarding vehicles and tents and what's their life-cycle now, what to do, what not to do. (Well right now i don't know if the tent/vehicle save got release since it's not in the changelog anymore, but just in case here it goes) I mean, ie: - Will the tents now get destroyed and wiped out if we ran over it with a vehicle? That would be at least a mean of removing dupped tents with no contents at all, if a hive "tent-wipe" is not possible. - What happens now if you pack a tent? Does the server automatically updates that writing to the hive, removing the tent from the mysql database? - Does the tent allow multiple saves? I mean, we place them, now we take items out of it or add new ones, and save again, does it work like a charm?. Just as an idea, some hammering prevention code would be nice. If you want to save the tent like 5 times in 2 seconds, this should be blocked by the server code, and give some output message to the players GUI like "You must wait 3 minutes before saving your tent again". That would lessen the strain on the database, avoid mysql locking, etc. But well i don't know the internals, you surely have though of this lot's of times. - Is the owner of the tent (the one who placed it) the only one allowed to save it? When some else removes items, it automatically updates to the hive? If we can get info on all these possible use case scenarios, that would be great, for two reasons. Collaborate on the use-case tests and also to feedback from the MP exprience, what works, what doesn't, etc. IMPORTANT: Please, if it's not a hard task, and i'm just guessing in the wind for what i have seen that it's not, could you log to the .RPT file who killed someone?. ie: Player JohnDoe was killed by WilliamDafoe. This is VERY important for us admins to mitigate the hackers. Right now, i could have all the proof of a hacker (for example a video of someone getting teleported and killed), and i could see his death in the .RPT file, but can't know who killed him on a non-gametags server such as mine. So i can't punish the hacker. Should we remove barbed wire in the next update

Yes. The wire is only used to prevent beaners to accses loot in electro/cherno, therefore making starting the game much harder. Also, its the source of the atrifact-glitches (that might have been fixed in the hotfix today). I have never seen wire being used to for example securing camps/vehicles, just griefing. -

We launched a fresh server last night. Managed to snag about 4-5 vehicles plus bikes. After logging in this morning before work I noticed that my Ural turned into a gray gaz. Is this something that is common? I play on a few other servers and havent had it happen. Will this revert back to the previous car once I reset the server again? or has the URAl turned into a gaz and now the Ural is back at its spawn? also if this is just an issue with the most "recent" dayz update, would downgrading the server to an earlier patch resolve this issue? Obviously we arent going to receive any updates to fix the many bugs anytime soon.

Preventing Choppers spawning in trees for 7 days.

As i understand it, the game saves vehicles whenever someone exits it. This includes ejecting. At the moment this has not been a massive issue as many servers have a resetting chopper every time the server reboots. But what happens if you get shotdown over water or trees and you eject/land and get out before it blows? Ejecting works, people will try it. What happens if somone drives a car into the water? it will respawn in a unsafe location and be destroyed every time the server reboots. As long as its on the map it will then take 7 days before respawning. Perhaps there could be a check implemented either in the alpha or standalone to check if a vehicle is in a "dud" location and give it a reset sooner. This has happened to our crew once on a server, all that happened was there was some exploded trees in the one location for a week and was impossible to retrieve the chopper. -
How we run UK105, And why we don't have hackers.

I have seen numerous posts on the forums from admins/players , Complaining about hackers. Now whilst I know that some people do not have access to their own server files, I would urge you to consider hosting it yourself, rather than paying a company to do it for you. I will a few pro's and cons to each. Pro's of having it hosted elsewhere: Its 100% managed hosting It can SOMETIMES (will explain in a bit) be cheaper depending on your country. Usually the company have great support. Con's You have no access to the server files You get updated when the hosting company gets around to it, Whilst it is 100% managed, You have about 5% control UK105 hosts a consistent 40 Players. In the past month we have had 1 hacker, and that hole has been plugged. AND to top it off, We keep hackers at bay, By enabling a few simple scripts, having some external programs (BEC, RCon, BattlEye, Live GUID Checking) And some restrictions as well, If there is a signature check file that failed on a player, why risk it? We just don't let them in (This has about a 10% false alarm rate, The player only has to try and log in again and it always works), If a GUID does not verify, We dont let them in. We keep our server running fast with 3 scheduled restarts a day, that have warning timers for players in world. And we support our players VIA email all the time. We have issued 1 Ban for that 1 Hacker. we ALWAYS keep battle eye up to date, and we know 80% of the community use a launcher of some kind or another, so we always keep up to date with the same version as everyone else, minimising the downtime! I honestly cannot believe, that If we can reduce the amount of hackers to pretty much none on our server, that other admin's cannot do the same. Yes there are about 2% of hacks out there that bypass battle eye completely, but its nothing that can do some of the stuff I am seeing on here (Spawning all players to x, Removing all weapons from x, spawning vehicles that should not exist). We research all hacks available, Every good security guard/programmer/whatever knows that if you want to defend against attacks, you need to know what your going up against, we actively search for those hacks that can effect us, and then look for a way to block that hole. Sorry for the WOT, But I just had to get my 2 penny's out there, I simply cannot believe that some people are being hacked every day, every hour, and yet we are not! [Edit] Please note, we are not saying we are an un-hackable server that has defended everything and are the best, This is not the case as some people are trying to make out, No company in the world can defend from every attack and neither can we. We simple are trying to help all server admins defend their servers the best they can with the tools that are available, to those who want to listen, As stated if and admins want help/advise, we are more than happy to help. We are men looking for other men and women to either recruit or join us in surviving DayZ. Our main goals are to set up a base camp on a decent server and then raid military outposts for loot. After our main goals have been reached we will set out locating and other survivors in need of assistance or any "bandits" that need killing. You landed too hard, some servers have a bug where vehicles will repair themselves but probably screwed, you will need either engine parts or a main rotar assembly, but your helicopter will be gone by the time you get back most likely. Construction sites are a great place to look, there should be one North of you near the tractor spawn. Also Engine parts are the rarest part of vehicles, so if you have the storage take them even if you do not need them. -

Do you want to promote The BSB Network while playing DayZ and look cool doing it? WELL NOW YOU CAN! I am currently creating in game profiles for all fire teams at The BSB Network. What are in game profiles you may ask. Beside showing detailed information about the player and it's team which can be gained by pressing "P" in game, the feature also supports a logo, which will be displayed on vehicles when you have boarded them. What I need from BSB members to create your in game profiles. First and most impotent of all you must be a member of a fire team at The BSB Network to be eligible. With that said in order for me to keep an organized system it would be best if all fire team leaders gather and [MESSAGE ME] the information of all there fire team members in the following format. Fire Team: Name: Player ID: E-mail: optional IM: optional Remark: optional Note: All fire team members will first be required to put the [bSB] tag before there profile name. Once your fire team profile's are created I will send the fire team leader the Squad URL to pass on to each of there fire team members. In order to connect to your fire team profile you will need to add the Squad URL to the Edit Player screen in the main menu. Fire team leaders can also [MESSAGE ME] the picture they would like me to Photoshop into the middle of the BSB logo. To get an idea of what I mean you can see the before and after of the logo I made for fire team delta below. I will do my best to keep the fire team profiles updated daily.
