  1. Yeah. I'm really conflicted on that. I love choppers and the concept of squads using it for transportation/ops. But it sucks how it basically allows a single person to [1] farm all heli crashes in minutes [2] discover 100% of camps in short order. I'll have to look into something that tries to address that, but a short term thing might be to just make sure I'm spawning helis much less frequently than vehicles. So, once a heli is destroyed it will be a while before it comes back, but ground vehicles will spawn somewhat more frequently. We'll see. There's so much that I'd like to address in DayZ that it's a shame, really, due to time constraints. There's only so much time and everything takes a decent amount of it. Anyone know how effective something like this is with hiding vehicles? Is it really just for show or would it help? I could see adding something like this into the mod if it would help.
  2. Hello, thanks for the harassing language, looked really mature, already shows what kind of person you are. I destroyed your camp because having vehicles is pretty much useless. When there's choppers on the server there's not really a point in hiding stuff because you'll lose it over night anyway. Don't get attached to your vehicles so much next time before insulting me. Thanks for showing me that it actually was the right thing to destroy your badly hidden camp. "Cunt". P.S Don't worry I'm not hating on the squad. I like Shift because he atleast replied in a normal way.

    Barely Any Vehicles? (Fallujah)

    Join the severs that mention haveing more vehicles (most sa 80) I went to AF found 2 C47s like 3 to 4 U H1s and a pair of mini chopers along with a hunvee.
  4. If there were more potentially repairable air vehicles on the map, the people with the hidden Hueys (admin and co. most likely) wouldn't be so afraid to take them for a spin. With only 1 legit chopper per server, once it's fixed up and stashed it'll hardly ever see the light of day again!

    Teleporter on ES8

    Confirmed. He was on our own Server, teleporting to us with a friend to kill us. Also spawned vehicles and medical boxes containing non-dayZ weapons. We have the server logs showing the items he spawned along with the time stamps. We also have his IP and GUID and look forward to seeing him and his friend dealt with.
  6. No offense mate, but when someone gets a ban, 99% of the time it's legit. The amount of sus shit that you guys have done doesn't surprise me that Sul banned you guys. Just incase you've forgotten. 1. You guys found our base day 1, within less than an hour of you guys joining. Maybe that was good luck, it was a pretty balsy spot. 2. You banned 1 of your own members for hacking 3. You guys got raided by me because you had it in the worst spot I've seen north of pobeda dam in a long time 4. I warned you about duping, yet you still do it. Even with hacked items. 5. I raided your base again after you didn't even move it and you had a massive cry about it like we hacked to get to your shit. Let's not forget you guys used hacks to take all our shit on the first day 6. There is no way you knew where our base was without using hacks. You made a threat after I called you an idiot, and sure enough you call on your bum buddies to help 'teach us a lesson' by destroying all our vehicles, taking all our gear. 7. We had to reset every single vehicle on the server because you fucked it up. A hard fucking reset because you ruined it for everyone that plays on it. 8. Lastly, and this is a nice one. You guys got your blue van jacked by someone on the server, and you continued to tell him you knew where he was and where he was going. That just cries out DayZ Navigator hard. We've had to spend countless hours dealing with all of your crap, and we're the bad guys here? Everyone says they love our server, except you guys. You're the only ones. I don't think Jenna would approve of this sort of behavior, am I right? ;)
  7. about your signature problems: client must have the same @dayz_taki folder, if you downloaded the new pack, then it is a different version from the old one. delete your old @dayz_taki folder on both the server and client before applying the new pack. you will get signature errors if you have different signature files for the same file (two different bisign files for one PBO file). this also applies to the @dayz_fal folder. about the vehicles: this pack DOES NOT include any custom vehicles introduced by any other parties. this pack is not affiliated with any of these server companies, who are asking money to be able to use these maps. @necropaul, yeah, there is a reason why fallujah has verifysignatures=1, it is because the guy who created the fallujah map did not use v2 signatures to make his map, so everyone who uses the map has to use v1 signature verification. it caused me quite a lot of headache before I went to the official forum topic and somewhere someone posted that the damn thing doesen't use v2 signatures. I was messing with my signature files for a good few hours before I found that it wasn't my fault at all...

    Hi, you are welcome to check us out at The BSB Network. We're a social gaming community that is dedicated to fair and fun gaming. We have over 300 Day Z players in various Fire teams and groups playing Day Z and using our Teamspeak Server to communicate and coordinate their scavenges and raids. These teams have several bases, vehicles, camps and play across several of our own home servers. The community is mostly adult gamers over the age of 20 (well over in most cases!) but there are no age, time or skill requirements - all we ask is you play fair and have a bit of common sense about you! Our members are based all over the world (including several from the Netherlands and Belgium) and are on at all times of the day and night, but all speak English and most are based in the UK and Mainland Europe with some in the US too. We've been gaming as a community since 2002, so we're not some ad-hoc fly by night clan that's been quickly set up and will be gone in the blink of an eye! There is no obligation to join our clan or any of our affiliated clans/groups to take part in our sessions though, everyone is free to urn up and get involved.   10. The theme of DayZ is one of survival, acting out of necessity. All the "collectibles" are items which serve a purpose in your struggle to survive. If there are a set of items scattered across the country, the purpose these items will serve once you collect them all should be the reason for them existing. We already have vehicles as a prime example. Maybe there could be many components to build a radio? Which could broadcast chopper crash locations, or allow long distance VoIP. Unless, like Riem mentioned, they're scraps torn from a diary, or newspaper articles alluding to events leading up to DayZ. Something to add to the apocalyptic feel without ruining the sense of mystery. It's hard for me to explain without sounding like a complete chode.
  11. The only part I didn't like was the part about poo and disease which, ironically, is the part that's been confirmed for the game... We definitely need the 'booby-trap zombie', a staple classic in anything zombie related. I think as well as this we just need more end game content. Currently, in the eyes of those who lack the ability to think outside of what the game shoves directly in your face, the only thing to do once you're geared is repair vehicles and murder people.

One thing I have noticed is the extra vehicles are missing :( I tried adding them to the database with no luck :( I replaced a uh1h_dz with CH_47F_EP1 and added it to object, classes, and spawns and it just will not spawn. Any way we can get these extra vehicles used in the vilayer files to work on these server files?

    12th Mechanized [RGG/RAR]

    Royal Anglian Regiment [RAR]Motto "Blood before Dishonour" Introduction: We are the Royal Anglian Regiment (RAR), a new group for the game Arma 2: Combined Operations. We work with the ACE and ACRE mods, as well as the SMK mod and a few British Forces mods. We communicate via our forums and over Teamspeak 3. We are trying to achieve the most realistic British Military simulation group, but still be fun at the same time. The RAR is based on the foundation of military simulation on ops and training: Radio, Skills & Drills, Organisation, Weaponry, Vehicles and more. Everything we do is British Forces, taught by people who have actually completed 6 month tours in the real Royal Anglian Regiment. You will find that the realism element to this Regiment is unmatched. The RAR forms part of 12 Mechanised Brigade – a combat Brigade consisting of other groups aimed at different mods. RGG (Regiment of the Grenadier Guards) is a PR (Project Reality) group, the only other element at the moment, but other groups will be created in due course. Our events are as they are in the real word as well – we train and train, then we get dates for an Operational Tour. We then deploy to an area for a certain amount of time (it could vary from 3 weeks to 3 months!), and run missions in that area for the time. Our missions are also as realistic as possible – we work on the tactics used currently in Afghanistan: there is a main Patrol Base (PB), which hosts A Company. Each platoon will then go out and set up Combat Outposts (COPs), then split into its sections and set up Checkpoints at key areas in roads and villages or towns. COPs and Checkpoints rotate, and are down to the commanders decisions on the day. We train three times weekly – Tuesday and Thursday, and a longer exercise on a Saturday or Sunday. These guys work on foot or out of light vehicles such as the Jackal and 110 Land Rover. This platoon is right at the front line, conducting patrols, basic reconnaissance, and are experts at fighting in built-up-areas such as villages, forests, and even cities. The heart of an Infantry unit is its Light Infantry. 4 Platoon (Fire Support Group) – These soldiers are split into two section – mortars (1 section) and anti-tank/guns (2 section). 1 section will wait behind the Infantry and provide light artillery support using 81mm and 60mm mortars, upon request. They can also double up as Light Infantry. 2 section’s job is to carry the Javelin and other AT weapons to where they are needed most – then take the enemy positions or armour clean out. Also work in demolition, and giving covering fire with GPMG, 50 cal and other very interesting weapons! You require experience in one of the Infantry Platoons before you can apply to the FSG. 5 Platoon (Recce and Sniper) – These soldiers can take pride in being the cream of the crop. 1 section are the Recce soldiers, 2 section are the Snipers. Both the Recce and Sniper courses are very mentally demanding, requiring patience, a firm state of mind and a lot of skill. They often operate without support, way behind the lines of the enemy. In addition, the Recce section is trained in advanced CQB techniques, and can perform missions such as hostage rescue or personnel extraction. The Snipers take care of long-range shooting, and are expert in their field. It takes a special kind of person to be a Recce soldier or Sniper. As a result, you require prior experience in an Infantry platoon before applying for this role. 656 SQN (Air Support) – This is where Pilots and Aircrew are based. Roles include re-supplies, Close Air Support (CAS) by helicopter and occasionally fixed-wing aircraft, Reconnaissance and ferrying troops around the battlefield. You can apply direct into this role. Our server is hosted on the ViLayer private hive. We're trying to establish a community around our server and welcome all kinds of players. Whether you're a bandit group looking to take on an organised group or a group of survivors just looking to survive this mad new world you're welcome and will be guaranteed an active server to call your home. So, why play on our server? Well, as stated above we're connected to the ViLayer private hive which means that whilst you can't carry your equipment from our server to servers connected to the public hive you will be able to jump to other servers on the ViLayer private hive. Furthermore we are able to police our server more effectively, enabling us to ban hackers and scripters permanently to provide a fair, fun playing experience on our server. Duping has been eliminated meaning items actually have true value now (hence how we are able to operate as a trading outpost). Whilst the server hardware is located in the EU the time zone has been set to UTC-6 to provide plenty of daytime gameplay for people who're in the U.K/EU as well as those who are in the U.S. The max ping is also set to 250 to allow people from the U.S to play on our server. To operate effectively as a trading outpost we do need some vehicles to cover logistics and recon but we've only taken vehicles that actually worth to us such as the Ural due to its large inventory space. We have had the vehicles in our possession stolen several times already and unlike some non-pvp focused teams out there we don't bitch or complain when things don't go our way. Once again we do welcome all forms of gameplay so long as you adhere to the above rules. You won't be kicked or banned for killing an admin or stealing off an admin. We do our best offer a fair playing environment for everyone. As we're on the ViLayer private hive we can also switch the map at will and whilst most of the time we'll be playing on Chernarus we will have special events where we will switch to other maps. Finally, Fort Haven is a non-shoot on sight team so if you're approached by our members whilst playing on our server you will not be fired upon unless you act in an aggressive manner you can rest assured of that. Friendlies who wish to conduct trade with us or just to go about their business unhindered will be able to do so but again, we do welcome bandits on our server also so we can't guarantee anyone's safety from threats outside of our group. We hope to see some regular players on our server, right now we do see random players jumping on but the population is much lower than it would be were we connected to the public hive still and this is one of the biggest drawbacks of private hive. Hopefully upon posting this thread we'll see an increase in our population and some of you will come to call our server your home.
  15. I think it's important to bold the "features" because while DayZ is billed as a sandbox, there is a HUGE distinction between sandbox games and sandbox mentality. I could join a BF2 game and aside from the fact that there is a win condition, it has the same "sandbox" elements as DayZ -- that is to say, none. The persistence + LACK of a win condition ALLOWED players to mess around like they would in a sandbox, but there are no sandbox tools besides those inherent to any game. Take away the win conditions of ANY shooter, and you'd have the same essence as DayZ. I can snipe in BF2, or heal people, or hoard vehicles, or take their kit after I kill them. Compare this to an ACTUAL sandbox like Ultima, EVE, minecraft. Players can take on different roles entirely all within the same game. In order for that to happen, the GAME needs to create environments that FACILITATE players filling these roles. Clearly some games are more suited to certain roles than others, but I just don't see it ever developing in DayZ. It's been 6 months with zero progress, I expect the same pace in standalone.
  16. I'd just like to clear things up here. King SOB is the server owner, he has the power to do whatever he wants. He can see everyone on the map, every vehicle on the map, and every tent on the map because we get that information through the server logs. King is under instruction to keep his month shut about everything, even to me, the clan leader. He doesn't tell us where everyone is, or where their shit is, and he doesn't exploit it himself either. None of us use teleporting hacks, or spawning hacks. There have been several hackers on the server, and they were swiftly dealt with. King uses this as a tool to find out when dickheads like yourselves destroy the servers vehicles because you're a bunch of whining faggots. I found your tents legit because you guys are terrible at hiding things. I took what I wanted, and put some rounds into your car for using hacks to find our berezino base. You guys being the children you are, used hacks to find our stuff, and destroyed it, not only for a week, but permanently. Forever. I've got no problem with you coming on our server, but don't resort to hacking or crying because I found your base. And lastly, why would we set up our own server if we were going to hack? I play this game because it's fun. I'll personally kick, ban, and hand out the GUID of any member in my clan that uses hacks.

    We have noticed similar things with other vehicles Reynolds. Just by stepping out and in it sometimes repairs itself. I will ask the serverhosting company about that. Added 1 more motorcycle and a landrover!

    Hate to be the bringer of sad news but.. You're f**ked. Pretty much. Hive reset means it resets the servers ID/Gives it a new one in which everything playerdone is reset; Basically Tents/wire etc is gone and vehicles are back at spawn positions. Your toon still keeps everything he has on him though; so prepare for whatever your new endeavors are headed!
  19. Some of us have done that... I've spent hours countersniping various areas and playing guardian angel, I've done bike tours of Chernarus blasting Immortal Technique, fixed vehicles, jacked vehicles, operated a party bus, fixed choppers and spent hours shuttling noobs around just for the hell of it, I've tried every map currently released... You can only get so much enjoyment from the "features" currently in the game, there's no way to generate content of any form and unless you're in a locked (which is stupid) then EVERYTHING degenerates into pvp... maybe you're not murdering people but it's pvp none the less. The game needs to be more about zombies and survival and less about stupid shit, people in this thread need to get Rockets nutsack out of their mouths and either admit that the game in its current (and announced features) form is horribly flawed or just stay the hell out of threads like this one. Nothing constructive ever came out of blindly fondling a developers nutsack. I'm rather sure Rocket would prefer creative input over "shut up, it's alpha, dont play if you dont like it, go die". edit: also I'm not sure what kind of magical servers you're playing on but on EVERY server I've ever played Cherno/Electro was less dangerous on a person to person basis than anywhere else in the map, leave the coast and it's KOS for 99/100 people.

  21. I'm introducing a new private server that i'm hosting. This server as over 50+ vehicles and 5+ helicopters. It's hosted by my clan KoS, (Knights of Survival). We are accepting anything to come and enjoy the server. I will be kicking players who go against our rules. Server: US 1112, port: 216.245.195.26:9302. It is hosted by KoS. Rules: 1. No combat logging. 2. No duping items. 3. No picking up hacked gear, meaning hacked weapons. 4. No talking over side chat. -All these rules will result in a perma ban or be banned for certain amount of days. KoS is recruiting. Just add my skype d-day4me if you like to join =)
  22. I thought this was amazing, this guy modded dayz (modception) to enable the loading of small vehicles (e.g. the ATV) into a bigger vehicle, the Ural. He can then transport it anywhere the Ural goes, and unload it. This would be an absolutely fantastic idea, as you could have your storage and transport all in one. He also has a menu of contents for the ural which is NEEDED in dayz. Video below.

  25. I shut my server down to protect the users. Think about it people. Someone logs into a server with all this on it. They die because they are not expecting 20 choppers, 40 vehicles to be driving around. 15 hotels and whatever else that people are using or sitting on top of waiting to kill people. No he logs in thinking, this is chern map and that stuff is not supposed to be there. And they die and lose all thier gear because the server they thought they were logging into was the same as all the others. But no this one is holy $hit mad house of disorder and you die almost instantly or before you realize what is going on. Gee thanks admin for protecting me. I wont allow that to happen on my server.
