  1. More and welcome to check us out! http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/96529-dayz-private-hive-82-vehicles-cherno-lingor-steam-community/ Rember we are a friendly group...
  2. I have just started up a new private hive password protected server, the reason for this is to get away from everyone on the server having AS50 Rangefinders and NVG's I want a more legit style of play with no duping or hacking. I also want it to be a 'bandit' server meaning everyone on the server is a bandit and will shoot on sight; this will hopefully provide for a more interesting game as it will make surviving much more difficult you won't just be able to run around the map free from harm cause there will always be someone on the lookout to kill you and steal your gear. Me and a group o friends play as a 'team' and we believe if there is multiple teams on the server it will make for long, hard combat and rivalry will start to form making the game more enjoyable and more to play for in my opinion. I have the vehicles set to 30 and we only control 2 and no helicopter to give other people a chance. We play on veteran difficulty and it is a English based server. Side channel will be on but english speaking only and use of mic over the side channel is not aloud. It Is up 24/7 with very active admins. If you reply to this post, inbox me or add my skype (william.cullum) and tell me why you want to join, if you're on your own or in a team and then how long you've been playing (if you're a noob or not) then I can give you the password to the server however if someone comes on I haven't given the server password to they will be instantly banned. Thanks I hope to see bandits joining soon. Wiliiam
  3. Yeah, they all need to be fixed. Chance some will start with fuel as well. We've been testing these settings for about a week and I always had more fun on servers with more vehicles so that's why!
  4. I would agree with you if they didn't add items like tents and cargo vehicles and also the idea of underground shelters....that implies they want people to give a fuck and try to survive instead of just fuck around...but the way the game is now, im not surprised that is all people do there are still too many things broken about it to even add new game improving features.
  5. this has been asked numerous times. the extra vehicles are NOT a part of this pack. the map is not very balanced as it is, with the airfield having so many barracks, one group could arm themselves to the teeth. having vehicles with machineguns on them would make it even worse. however, I might add those in later, when I have the time to research them - modification of @dayz data files is required.
  6. Finished, new map added: Panthera - available for private and company hive only (there is no official hive). The vehicle map in the control panel will not work with Panthera until I get a higher-resolution image of the map and can do some testing. I have packed up all the latest files you need to play (including the new certificates and keys that were posted about an hour ago) - you can download the package at http://dayz.st/files/DayZPanthera_1.3.zip There is also a test server up at: IP: 198.105.218.156 Port: 2302 Hive: DayZ.ST Shared Hive Side Chat: Enabled Max Vehicles: 50
  7. Went on a fishing boat and decided to take a ride the the furthest away island on the map. Once getting there I found a chopper, I then lost connection and when I came back on I was at Cherno. Any assistance even a PBX would be nice! Any assistance wont go unnoticed you ll get access to camp on the server with lots of equipment and vehicles. Thanks. :)

A Pessimist's View of the Standalone

It will probably be a VERY long time before DayZ will play well, but the standalone will probably just be better. Not sure exactly how much. I mean, Arma 2 never worked well; the vehicle combat is downright hilarious, i commonly find myself staring at vehicles for 10s after i shoot them to see them pop into dead mode. Same thing with staring at zombies
  9. Awesome! thanks Devil Dog! but yea, hit me up for heli parts! all i have is a full jerry can. Oh, and the reason i need a helo is because you cant get to the new camp with wheeled vehicles.

    Seeking good DayZ hosting.

I've been using Survival Servers now (a dedicated DayZ hosting company - http://www.survivalservers.com/aff.php?aff=020) for a few weeks and have to say they are excellent. Very fast set-up, they provide Chenarus and Lingor, they host @hive, @bliss (their own Survival Servers hive network based on bliss) and completely private hives so you can set up your own community and build servers on that hive. Their prices are competitive and they have many 3rd party features such as removing all out of bounds vehicles, changing time limit on wire, hedgehogs and sandbags. All vehicle and tent saves work. All vehicles spawn (up to a max of 75). They provide hosting in US and Europe. There are many other features that make this host great. And yes, that's my affiliate link in the address. If you don't want to help me out by using that (basically a spotters fee) I won't hate you but please at least check them out for yourselves. Cheers, Dave.
  11. The usual topic - deathmatching in DayZ. Let me tell you guys a bit about myself, before you start making assumptions: I've played DayZ since June/July, and I've experienced many sides of it. I've played alone, with friends, as bandit, as hero - I've travelled by foot, repaired vehicles, played with clans and all that jazz. Also, I've seen the shit storm, and the community divide between the bandit/survivor play-style - the never-ending debate. First off, I sort of liked the deathmatch psychology. Always be on your toes, don't mess up, and living in a lawless post-apocalyptic world (sort of). I've been a huge fan of the newer Fallout games for a couple of years, and the whole post-apocalyptic universe is very interesting to me. But after having played DayZ for a couple of months, I sort of got tired of it. I don't want to be preaching, and pointing fingers at anyone - I'm part of the issue myself. I've been a bandit for the most part, and shot people at sight - I've hunted down people, and I've camped Elektro's fire department with my CZ and a ghille suit. Banditry is quick and efficent. There are basically no down-sides to it, and a small risk if you have a good weapon. I remember when everyone would run around with makarovs, and I'd often not shoot people, because the odds for actually killing -anything- were too low. When I spawn, I'll head to Cherno or Elektro, and just run all the way through, find the fire station, acquire a weapon, and then start from there. If you get shot, fine, you'll just rinse and repeat. If you find a lone survivor, you'll take him out and grab his gear. He might have some good equipment, so you'll take it and continue on your small journey. That's the mentality. Why you ask? Because it's the "safest". You eliminate a threat, and you put yourself at advantage. Sure, you might get shot - but at least you tried, and odds are that if you tried to call "friendly", you'd get shot before even putting up a fight. I don't know how to solve this issue - and that's why I'm asking the community, what should we do? The current problem is, that this is sort of a paradox. If you increase the difficulty to this game, it will just give people a tendency to shoot people, to get their hard-earned gear. If you know how hard it is, to obtain X item, why go out and find it yourself when you can just pop an unaware survivor for it? Decreasing gun spawns will probably have the same effect. Please, provide some constructive critism. Think through your answer, and what we should do. What will give people more of a "friendly" over-all mentality? At the moment, 90% of people KoS - and if they aren't pulling the trigger, you might be.

Vechile hording can be stopped by introducing 'motor oil'. If your vehicle runs out of this rare product, it will loose it's 'save' and respawn back at it's original spawnpoint on the map. Unless it's saved on a vehicle pad/garage in your camp. You can only build all structures once, so we can limit the amound of vehicles to let's say 3. All other vehicles which are not in on a vehicle pad or garage require 'motor oil' to be saved..
  13. more to my question (sorry for double post) but in the mql files under object_data or object_spawns, it only has the chernarus vehicles. the vehicles are spawning in the right places in fallujah, just not all the extra vehicles. any way to get a file of those extra vehicles? thanks a lot man
  14. i finally got it working! thanks dude! the new version fixed it! one question, isnt there suppose to be a lot more vehicles? theres only the ones from cheranus
  15. Brittanica

    Advanced basebuilding (levels)

Dude, we could have endless structure upgrade's. I mean, we could even go so far that you'll eventually are able to build your own bysicles from steel bars. We could give the tractor a purpose by allowing agriculture and farming to take place. We should be able to build a camp which provides in food, drinks and (with the right basic materials) ammunition. Security. Another idea would be to offer some sort of protection on your camp, thats why I added the key/locks and alarmsensors to the list of buildings. This game is not taking place in the '40's', we should be able to use today's technologies. Let's say this would happen tomorrow, the first thing we do when we would leave our shelter is secure it properly. So that's where the keys come in, it's not farfetched at all. Gate-, garage- and vehiclekeys should be available everywhere with a different spawnchance. Let's say you find a camp which is secured, then you first need to find a gatekey. Vehicles spawn with their keys, but they can be found in residential area's also. We could even have a extremely rare skeleton key, which works on everything. When a survivor spawns, he first needs to find these important items, instead of just coinsidentally bumping into someone's camp. Destroying camps. It should be possible to destroy someone's camp, but not be made to easy. The advancer the structures on it, the more firepower you need. Stone structures can only be destroyed by satchel charges, wooden structures by firepower and others by simply driving over them.

    Hacked Buildings.

It is possible for the really intelligent hackers to write buildings and vehicles to the database now. It's VERY rare and I happen to know the coder the figured out how to do it. Besides him and 1 other person I've never seen anyone else that can do it and as far as I know the code to do it has not been released. Only way to get rid of them is to reset your instance ID.

    9 Dayz Ideas

I know this may not be implemented but I thought it would add to the gameplay more fun features. Here are a few examples: 1. A new bowel evacuation system. 2. Getting hypothermia because you are wet 3. Burrying the shit after you evacuate your bowels leaving you vulnerable to attacks. 4. A smell system that attracts the zombies and hounds 5. A new Diarrhaoe system. 6. A sleep system which removes any constipation and hypothyroidmea associated with your character. 7. A new malaria system. 8. Different vehicles and mechanics. 9. A new sleep system with ability to heal yourself. Thoughts?
  18. You will LOVE our server then. We have ZERO hacked weapons. About 30-50 vehicles. (~10 are bikes) I have full control over everything in the server as well. And our group is always monitoring the server and doing detective work. We've had a few run ins with hackers, but mostly people spawning in items. Lots of the bugs are fixed on this server as well. People can still ALT+F4.. but if you report it to an admin (by saying it in side chat) we can easily look into it and give the player a warning, kill them so they start on a fresh spawn next time, or even kick/ban them. Basically, this server is PURELY LEGIT. No cheats or exploits are allowed, and we are looking to get a community that has similar feelings towards cheaters. Play fair, play respectful, be reasonable and have a good time.
  19. We've increased the amount of vehicles to 30 to make it that little bit more interesting and to make it easier for players to find a decent vehicle. We're on the lookout for bandits at the moment so if it's your thing then definitely get involved. We don't have any at the moment so this is your chance to get your very own hunting ground!

    Back to basics

I've been reading the suggestions and I have to say some are pretty good. But for the most part I feel like with some of the suggestions I'd end up playing something like Dead Island or Left4Dead and other "Zombie" based games. DayZ is a really good concept and we all know can and will be a great game, in standalone or continued mod. The game is survival. Its about starting out small and working your way up, finding proper survival gear and keeping alive. At this point, in alpha its just to easy. You spawn and within hours your at the NW Airfield picking up the good stuff and pretty much owning anyone in the game after that. People want this game to be even easer with high powered rifles, NV, silencers, rangefinders and the like, is it about survival or is it about killing ever one in sight and grinding gear? The goal shouldn't be to get the golden gun but struggling to survive long enough to get it. It shouldn't be to easy to get off the coast. Its shouldn't be to easy to find weapons and gear, or at least you should have to use wits or group up. To even think about getting near NW Airfield or the major cities for meds and weapons it should not be that easy. Beef up the zombies in those areas. Make them harder to get around, even in the dark. I've crawled by hundreds of zombies in the dark, in and out like flint. Crawled in and out of NW filed solo. Its about the basics, staying alive long enough to work your way up to the better gear. Food, water and bandage should more important then a gilly suit or a helicopter. It just seems like zombies are going to end up second level in this game. People are looking for bigger and better weapons, trucks, boats, trailers, a cabin in the woods, under-ground forts, vehicles that are indistructable...I'd like to play DayZ, not CoD. Just my opinion, no offense to anyone.

    Tent duping

Standalone will be your answer. The issue is that Arma was not designed to be a game that is continuously played. Generally you started a game, played the map until your objective was complete and then closed the map. This is the same reason that all servers have multiple restarts per day, otherwise vehicles once blown up would never come back. So the tent duping works something of the same way, since character data is stored on the backend hive and tent data on the local hive if the tent isnt saved it has no idea of the state of the tent after a restart other than its historical data. Since DayZ will be its own flavor of the Virtuality engine, I assume its being tailored to support real time respawns so servers should not need a constant restart every 6 hours or so to keep vehicles accessible. That in it self should stop tenting duping.
  22. Might I suggest using DayzCommander, can make server notes, useful for if you actually use the other maps. For example, I've got my Chernarus character, fully geared up etc. I play in Lingor with a newer character because I can do things in that game I wouldn't do with my other character, like run with no weapons across the entire map while singing. Server notes help keep things organized and I use them to mark tents, vehicles etc. Cheers! IMO, Lingor>Chernarus>Takistan>Fallujah

Doh! Give our truck back :P :P :P Eerm... there are around 30 vehicles in the game and we own 3. Second that... 2 since Tapp just stole our truck
  24. Teleported every one to one area. Vehicles spawned all over and killing spree. Have no idea of a name or screenshots. I just aborted asap.
  25. 1. Refer to above. 2. Damn right we did. 3. Honestly doesn't mean a thing. That was just poor placement. That really doesn't mean anything... 4. I can agree that we have duped before. And that was when we first learned by our shitty camp. I put on and removed some camo clothing. We constantly switch clothing so it is true that we have had an accidental dupe once or twice. But thats the truth. We don't take the gear. We don't touch it. 5. If you can quote our crying, I would gladly believe you. And what did you take? Oh god, not a Bizon! Oh noes! 6. What fucking base are you talking about?!?! We didn't destroy your vehicles or do anything! If there was one near NE airfield then I may have stumbled upon it. Without NVG's and I was attacked. So I ran. But didn't touch it. 7. Please just stop. How did we fuck it up? Lol. Were not hacking. And be aware. Hacking is like changing the code of the computer that the server runs from. We don't have common access to the computer location unfortunatley. So that point is invalid. 8. Did we find the guy? Noope. Did we find our van...? Nooope. Even people said it in chat, he could just be messing with you. Well, we were. So be aware once more that you claim us as scripters. But you honestly have no proof. All you have are some radio's we took off a scripter. And something that happened to me in the past. Which concludes that you are just contradicting yourself. You cry about us using bypasses and stuff yet... If were so good at using bypasses and hidden scripts. Why did I get banned in the first place? I think you're just butthurt aren't you. Someone stick a dick up your ass eh? You probably liked it at first, haha. In conclusion. You are an idiot who is whining because we kick your ass as a clan. Best part about is we don't remember finding your super secret hidden base. Hahaha. Also, you may like to bring up my girlfriend in a conversation. For one, your stooping that low because you have no real proof of anything other than the fact that I have girlfriend. Which I can assume you don't. Maybe a boyfriend, that sounds more like you my Australian Homosexual. Haha :D
