Ok well i got the "CD key in use" today. But before you all start to shout "shouldnt of tried to download a hack" here is a quick update for you. I wasnt tryign to download a hack (although wont lie, being able to spawn car parts would be handy at times) Instead i had downloaded a file that was said to install Dayz single player (i wanted to be able to play by my self in the SP and with my friends in our camp on MP) The video I watched in question was on youtube (for obivious reasons i wont post it) So in short, it would seem that these people lookign to do their CD hijacking are getting a little more creative, so dont download anything unless it is from a secure/trusted site. This also serves as a little heads up for any one looking for a SP opition as well.

First time i played the game, i admired the view, got used to the controls. I then ran into the road looked up the road sign, heard a noise turned around an BOOM! I became a hood ornament for someones jeep.

Ive been doing about 4-5 hours at a time. So far ive found a good idea is to go inland and find the good stuff, ive got a nice lee enfield rifle and a PDW from the NE airfield. Now all i do is go to the cities down south and look for snipers on the hills. Keeps the game entertaining. Although i will admit the first few hours have to be the best. And gun fights are always awesome, I love doing the old zig zags to cover and then peeking left and right to try and get the shot. When you know you arnt going to respawn in 3 seconds with all you gear, you find you try to fight harder to survive.

Ok well I downloaded the Steam version of arma 2 (the combined operations pack) My first attempt at getting Dayz to work was via the manual installation (make the Addon>@dayz file in the steam directory of ARMA:OA) and downloading the beta patch. But when i tried to lauch the game i was getting kicked saying missing content (cherounos) so i copied the addon pack from arma 2 directory over to the OA directory tried again, still would get into a game. Tried to use the withsix launcher, i keep getting stuck at loading screen and the game crashes. and im now getting annoyed as i just spent £25 on this game thinking it would work better than the cracked version ive been playing over tungle. when in fact the dodgy cracked version seems to work better. any help/advice. And on a side note, im suprised there wasnt an installion guide with the download. thought that was standard with any download.

that was the first tutorial i used. Didnt seem to want to work. Step 4 he skips the step for steam uses, as he states that it should sort the files out automaticaly for those using the combined operations pack. mine didnt (cheers steam) so i went back and done step 4. Tried to run the game again and boom same thing. :( EDIT: Women you are awesome, Dayz commander is by far the better opition. Now just need to fix this graphical glictch that i keep getting. But im sure i can figue that out on my own.

at this rate ill end up going back to the cracked version, it seems to work better :(.........been trying for the past few hours with my steam copy and still havnt had any luck, and dont facny deleteing it all and going for a 4 hour download again.
