My first kill was in bolota airstrip against a unarmed player (rule of the airfield shoot every one on sight) But my first legit kill (a fair trade firefight) was in the medical tents just south of bolta there was a guy in one of the deer stads there shooting zombies, he opened fire on me with a AKA and i dived behind the burnt out Humvees, Edged my way to get a clear shot with my trusty AKS w/kobra and just lit him up with a whole mag. Nothing quite like the thrill of being in a fire fight in dayz.

Me and my friend learnt that it isnt just cherno you need to avoide shooting the enfield in. he also learnt that I am a pro at running away faster than him :D Also thought id throw in that little dayz animation at the end that was made by Jacknorrisfilm, he has been kind enough to give the comunity an awesome video intro which can be used on videos.

Fully automated train, which can be destoryed, snipers can shoot out windows, and once it is destroyed it wont respawn till server restart, which means that bandits can blow up a train using the rocket launcher.

I was suprised with my character, It now says Day2 when i log in. Never happened before. Although My kit has gotten considerbly better now, I have a DMR NVG and a M4A3 CCO SD, spent hours hanging about the NW Airfield finally got a set of NVGs, knowing my luck ill get killed soon. Next on my list is to get a car for my camp and it will be complete, well maybe aim for a chopper after, i actually played the arma missions and i got rather good at flying choppers now. I can even land smooth with out the use of auto hover, go me.

This this has to be the best rifle Ive used so far, I did had a M24 which I did rather enjoy, and a M16 GL (was useful at night, I just kept popping flares and silly people kept getting attracted to it. But I will say the M14 is a pretty awesome gun. Alot of my ammo I got for the M14 can use m24 mags so that helped alot. As for the PDW, I love the thing, the fact i can use any mag i find makes it ideal, alot of the time ill drop my prim rifle and just use the pdw as i normally come across alot of m9/g17/mp5 mags which i can use for it

thanks for that. I think its just a few bugs, Ill just have to get used to the system, i more wanted to check that this wasnt a common occurance otherwise it would just make tents worthless for me.

I wouldnt mind seeing a advanced bullet physicsin the game, much like sniper elite done, Would make sniping a bit harder when you have to judge cross winds distances drop ect.

Ok so I have put up two tents, Both in differnt locations on the map. When i pitched the first one I put a m16 in and some ammo plus medical supplies and and food, At this time there were many other players on the server with me, As I then went to my second location Pitched the tent done the same thing as the first. Now here is my question. When I went back to tent number 1, all the gear had gone, at the time i had put it down to maybe some one found it and looted it in the time it took me to, by the time i had reached the first tent to find it was empty there was no longer any one in the server with me, and when i went back to the second tent, the same thing had happened, all the gear was gone. The server didnt restart, Both tents were saved, and i had Logged out for a 10 minute period before logging back into the game again. Is Standard with tents for them to do this in shuch a short period of time?

Ha yeah, this happened to me for the frst time, i didnt die, but i did take a lot of damage and was bleeding. At first i thought i had been shot so i shot the first personi could see, Turned out i had killed my team mate and it was just the bush that had hurt me.

they say for lagg, but you currently can just kick people who's ping is too high for the server.

Sniper tents, Not sure if troll or serious. Ghilli suits and a rilfe that is all a sniper needs. and what sniper would use a tent, in real life or in game that is a dumb idea. Hydration pouch may be a nice idea, but it be basically the same as a water bottle, but can be assigned a hot key and have a level meter to know how much is in it (much like ammo does) so you drink from the pack via key and refill it just like a water bottle, but cant drink from it unless it is in your pack.

Well there is currently a choice to change the HUD (although debug mode is bugged to hell, so your only choice is either no Hud no just the Icons)

The range of combat is better at range, to simply put it, its more realistic. You want even the smallest of advantage in any firefight, and even when in one it never lasts longer then a few seconds at most. As for Close range combat, i just switch to first person, The thing is unlike COD or BF3 if you go around a corner and some one shoots you, you can run back around the corner after getting hit 2-3 times and let health regen, where as in this if you get hit first you eithe rget knocked out or you go round a corner get patched up only for th eguy to run round and finish you off. SO although the gunplay isnt as fast paced as COD/CS/BF3 its more realistic, you need to rely on working with people to make sure you have eyes in the towns, You have to go slow and you have to be paranoid as fuck. Its unwise to compare it to COD or CS, maybe you could make a comparrison with BF3 (In the Armoured kill expansion the range of combat has increased) But unlike in all this FPS games you die you respawn, there is no cost to death other than a tally count on your K/D ratio, where as in Dayz death means loss, means you now have to start again which gives you a slower paced to combat. Basically they are two totaly differnt games.

I tried doing all the armoury challenges, WTF do they insist on skeet shooting with an AK, the iron sights make it F**king hard.

this has quickly turned into a Mac bash thread. Personally for th emoney you pay for a mac, you'd be better of buying a gaming laptop with water cooling and a gt660 graphics card (you can buy em for as little as £1200, which is still cheaper than a mac (of equal power that is)

yeah me and my mate have been running about with car parts for ages but havnt found a car to use the parts on.

Can never get rid of hackers, there will always be people who find a way to hack a game and profit from it. As for the Alt+F4, its been suggested many times before, just add the 30second timer before your character vanishes making people actually make sure they are in a safe spot before they log off.

Trophies would be pretty cool,find a camp site with a stash of licenses in them.

I like being Inland, I can find a good spot out the way, and set up a nice camp with my truck. always serves me well, i dont like being too close to where every one spawns.

Mercy killings will be on the rise. if i spawned with a child dog or any other npc my first task would be to kill them off.

on the far left of the map, is a small village called myshkino, grid 01,07. It spawns a pick up, they are pretty decent vehicles. on road and off road.
