Its simple, We kill the batman. No im just joking. My idea for the standalone DayZ game is.........Dont listen to the community. Why? Because if you try to make one person happy you piss of ten others. This is where all games go wrong these days, dont try to make the community happy, follow a few ideas, but use gut instinct on main gameplay aspects. we are playing your game, not our game. weapon damage/stats from release should stay the same, dont listen to people who moan "this gun is OP, please nerf it" The last thing this game needs is to follow the crowd with the whole, "lets make a game that is easy to please and draws in the most players because its easy" Give us a game that is hard, that is a bitch to us, and basically ties us down with our balls nailed to the floor while it tells us to do a push up. (yes i know i have something very wrong with me) SO my suggestion, stay out the community, shut us out, and go hardcore on the dev. the odd spoiler and patch for the arma mod will be nice, but thats all.

I like playing at night with a torch is pretty awesome to run about with, (a line of people running with a flashlight out is like a running disco) Gota love how the military flash light doesn't do what it says on the tin though......(the red light is meant to be undetectable to NVG's,

well it seems i am apart of the dying breed that likes to be surprised by their games. I cant lie, alot of the ideas posted are crap, but you get the odd fantastic one. All I'm saying is that Id like to be surprised when i first play a game anew. because the standalone will follow the dayz mod concept but in all essence will be its own game.

Its a issue that affects alot of people, I know people with beats set ups and the game wll run at low fps, the fix i suggested fixes the issue, some people never experience the issue but from what ive found, there is more people who are effected than that havnt been. its just luck of draw.

what I mainily mean is what the hell happened to the days, when you would buy a game, you would have that game for years after, always playing it. and that game series went on to make more and more games, at the start of the process it was fan-fucking-tastic game which you loved and enjoyed, the features all complimented each other, features other people thought up which they should would improve the game were quickly slapped and told "fuck you bitch this game doesnt need improving" as nice as it is to be able to suggest ideas to the guys making a game. There is a reason they are the ones making the game, and we are the ones playing it. The devs are skilled, and its their baby to play with.

The one I was on about, Looked like a SUV that had humvee style turret on top (merc style).

Id say yes, as i always like new people to play with, but TS3 or Vent are the only ones i use, had mumble once, and it lived up to its name........

Normally i would help (when i first switched from xbox to pc, i had a wired pad i used with xpadder) the only opition as i foudn that this varies from system to system is to just keep playing about with settings to get the best settings. Id instead of using it as a joypad, but as a keyboard map (not sure if you are doing this already or not) So just keep many of the basic functions like aim shoot zoom move and reload on the pad, and have everything else on the keyboard. Its how i had to play many games before

Dayz even on the best of computers will get abour 15-30fps depending on location. some servers will lag a large amount and are fixed by a server reset. Its not your computer, its just poor engine design. (im running gts450, amd phenom 2 x4 2.6 CPU 8gb ram, and i average 25fps in small towns 30fps when roaming the hills/fields, and drop down to 15 when i enter large town/cities like electro and cherno) EDIT: there is a simple fix that can improve FPS. Go to My documents\ArmA 2\ and open the file Arma2.cfg in notepad. Find the line of text that reads. GPU_MaxFramesAhead="x"; GPU_DetectedFramesAhead="x"; [x= DEFAULT VALUE] Set both values to 1 and save, When you load the game up again, the fps should run better. Hope this helps.

Well you didnt need to buy the full pack again, you could of just brought operation arrowhead of the BI store for £13 and save your that extra bit of cash.

This sounds like an awesome dayz idea. I want in. Currently i am running away more than a french man so i should do good.

You know what id love to see, (although I am almost certain it was hacked in) Was those armored jeeps with the mini guns on top.....They were just epic, i logged on a server once and it was there, i jumped in drove into cherno and gunned down a shit ton of zombies. Then a sniper took my head clean off, but I had fun either way.

Certain things you need to remember, There gets a point where you add too much realism that it becomes too easy of a game. Yes you can collect rain water, But by adding it as a game mechanic (which i wont lie would be nice) would mean that players wont have to find watering holes/ponds/wells, they can pretty much refill their cans anywhere on the map, so long as it rains. Which then makes survival too easy. Its the same for fire/food/and other survival aspects.

Id recomend DXtory, Fraps limits video to 4gb files and i find lags after constant use. But Dxtory uses sod all in terms of memory, Plus you can record on multiple HDDs at the same time which is brilliant, plus you can split audio channels when recording so makes it easier to edit and cut out the chatter you dont want. (It costs, but you can get it for free if you look hard enough, thats what i done at first, but i paid the 40 bucks after i used it and found out how awesome it was.)

hey guys, I thought it would be nice to hear some of your stories from dayz, Such as WIn/Fail moments. This is inspired from an epic fail from me and my friend not 20 minutes ago when we both failed to check ammo count before going into a fire fight. We were in a nice little shop looking for gear and in casually a sniper with a ghilli walks in, we both open fire only for both guns to stop as we made a quick dash to hit reload, Only to be both be killed as the guy happily took his time to shoot us. FAIL. So what are your stories.

I like the idea of starting with nothing at all, no backpack, no flashlight no bandage no painkillers.

Yeah it is that simple, amount of times ive been shot at and been taken down to about 2000 blood, Ive chansed down chickens goats pigs and cows just to eat them in a mad dash to get back to full health. healthy regen would be rubbish,makes it too easy.

Bad arma engine, its more on the CPU than GPU. There is a fix you can do to the arma file just change values, I have a 60£ GPU and I get about a range from 15-25fps depening where i am on the map.

PDW is always my Side arm, Can use a wide range of ammo so its always nice to have. Rifles, Ill use a M4SD For night time raids of towns for supplies, DMR for PVP runs to find snipers about cherno and electro. Although some times if the server is nice and active ill take a DMR onto anight serv with a pair of NVG's and take a few shots at people.

I was like that at first, but ive been gunned down by too many people at the airfields, either snipers or close rangers with AK's So when it comes to airfields (NW And NE more so than bolota) Its KoS. Although now down at bolota i normally check out to see if they have guns or not, if not ill be nice and give free stuff.

No offence, but I dont trust an .exe file from a guy with only 3 posts.

I play with two other friends, So far im on day 3 i have about 20-30 hours of game play already nvested int he character. (When i play, i normally play for about 8 ish hours.) I Have my base in North and i always hang about the North towns, mainly NW airstrip, stary, and zelengorsk. But other times i will make a run down to Cherno and try to find a few bandits to kill. I always Use a DMR, Although the AS50 are one hit kills, i like the extra bit of skill needed to use a DMR makes it more of a challenge.
