Build or Buy a new PC?

Did not know the skimped out on Motherboard and memory. Maybe thats why when I got my old cyberpowerpc the memory boards's] usb ports didn't work. What ticked me off the most was they wanted me to ship it to them, which would have costed $70. Thanks for the info! You seem to know your stuff, what site do you recommend for me to use to make sure I don't bottleneck my PC?

Build or Buy a new PC?

Thanks for the fast reply. I would say the #1 problem I would have with building is I don't know about the compatibility of parts. I know how useful graphics, ram, and CPUs are; but I don't know anything much about motherboards and their usefulness in gaming. Can you point me to any websites where I can build my own or whatever to check the compatibility of things? If I was going to hire somebody to build a PC for me I would want a warranty and them to by only a little more expensive of me doing it myself.
  3. Farkinob. I love the website fark.com and fark is typically used as a substitute for the 'f' word so 'farkin' means 'f***in' I use the term Nob because back in my school days we would call noobs 'nobs' because it was funnier. Doorknob, you get the picture. So, my name means 'f***in noob'. I came up with it in SCII. Also people call you a noob if you don't stick your head out like a chicken and play where it gives the other player an advantage, so yep.
  4. I want to only spend about $1500-$1800. I have no spare parts, and the last computer I had (cyberpowerPC) had nothing but problems since day 1. I would fix one thing, then another thing would go wrong, like a old car. I junked it when I moved because I was sick of it and it would get the BSOD every 2 hours and not work for days after that. I have heard that building is better than buying, but building comes with issues like no warranty, hard to identify problems if you have no spare parts. I know how to build a computer from screwing around fixing my old PC. I need a PC that can run DayZ Standalone, BF4, GTAV, and Minecraft on max/high settings. What should I do? Is there any new hardware that is coming out soon? Should I build/buy? What do you guys recommend? If it helps, I want to build/buy a PC around August. Thanks!

How to stop kill on sight mentality.

No. These ideas are very silly (needing a group to reduce fear and you need an inhaler? lol!) and the idea that you can hold doors shut for 30 seconds to keep zombies out is kind of out-of-reach of simplicity. The zombies would need new path finding, new animations, new scripting, etc.
  6. I would say no. It would make the game too silly if you decided to add in cannabis, LSD, heroine, etc. Just too unrealistic as the effects would be nothing really extravigant, not to mention the legal issues. I would, however, support the idea of mild stimulants. Caffeine for more energy (but you crash), Nicotine for stress-relief (but you have less stamina), as they would be plentiful after the apocolypse. I don't reckon that you'd come across much illegal narcotics, and even if you did it would be so stupid to just have your screen by hazy.

    Huge Structures in DayZ SA

Well with how Arma 2 engine works is that buildings come in one big package. If they had something like 10 different variants scattered across the map or if you could build your own with crafting it would be very easy to add. The typical treehouses like you see in backyards, just different variants. Maybe if they added some huge redwood forest there'd be a huge one 500 feet in the air.
  8. I would only like this idea if it was constant in only one life. Nobody is going to be able to identify a face other than white/black/mexican/asian unless they have super-hd monitors and are right by them.

    [SA/Mod] - Natural Medicines

I think it would be gnarly and give incentive to travel around the map in the woods

    Birds Birds Birds ! (SA)

Well, I know that the birds would have to operate as a group if you were to have that many, otherwise it would just lag up the server since the birds have to pathfind. But adding the occasional bird to find water and food sources, give you a heads up, possibly train a hawk or something? Cool!

    Huge Structures in DayZ SA

Treehouses. Seriously, how many people look up at trees? Hide your gear up there, have a ladder. Very easy and simple to implement and would be awesomely fun. Also doubles up as a watchtower!!!
  12. Will bookmark and get back to you
  13. Music needs to be added to the Stand Alone. It would be very simple and effective way to implement it. Say you add only about 10 or so music files, you can make them play from a sound source and it wouldn't take up much computer power or bandwidth. Here is what you could do: Round up zombies: I always like to use the Walking Dead example. Now that zombies are fast even in buildings, looting is going to be hard. And making a bunch of unusual noise would make it very easy when you are looting a store. The music choices can be limited: In eastern europe, cassettes are key. Classic music may be uncopyrighted, and getting rights to popular cold-war soundtracks would be very easy. You could have different rarities, with the ultrarare being the "trololo song" Draw attention and add more to skirmish mechanics. We can all tell stories about how a vehicle goes about honking like mad. It will stop this unrealistic mechanic. https://www.youtube....h?v=QoR056qD9zw (Merle Dixon's Assault on the Governor's Crew with Car + Zombies) Weather needs to be more dynamic and interactive. It would force players to change their gameplay tactics dramatically. Rains alot? You might want to shelter yourself to prevent rust, jams. Cars can drive through mud after it rains. Here's the list: Cars. Raining is very important for immersion, turn on the windshield wipers to see, it rains it will be harder to drive (rain drops and all). You'd need more loot. Also, that cool mud you've been building up driving through the woods in your offroad? Gone, that shine is going to make it easier for enemies to spot your car. Handling will be more difficult and (gulp) you could even get stuck. I know this is possible due to existing games. Traveling on foot. Obviously would make you more prone to infections. Your fires would burn out in the rain (no cooking tonight!) , and you might get trench foot if you don't change your socks often enough. Your clothes would get ragged and you could slip if you run too fast. Immersion. It's the apocalypse after all, it shouldn't always be sunny. The occasional thunderstorm should happen and the lightning could strike helicopters in the air - there it forces end-gamers to not use their choppers all the time and poses some risk and possibly some saftey for others. It would be interesting and unique for lightning to strike churches, lightning rods, radio towers, etc. It could also hamper radio communication to make it more staticy. http://www.scifun.ed...s/lightning.jpg (Plane being struck by lightning) Farming Zombies: When clans are established, collecting zombies would be all too popular. It would add another element to the game, and Rocket's idea of aging zombies would have be important to people collecting zombies as if they wait too long, the zombies could become useless. Again, I point to the walking dead. http://youtu.be/0Tf3NHTSBoI?t=1m55s (Breadvan filled with zombies during assault on prison) I hope that some of these suggestions are added to the game, I really want DayZ to be a dynamic experience filled with risks and sometimes very unlucky events that would win the heart of players. I can picture a group of bandits attacking a survivor crew with a chopper now and it just being struck out of the air by lightning!

    Get rid of chernarus.

Chernarus is an OK map, they better make an alternative maps. Chernarus is not made for zombie survival, something like the DayZ taviana or Namalsk is and they should go off of that.
  15. For standalone, it will really suck if it's the same as DayZ now when everybody just shoots on sight. Make it so if you kill somebody your character starts crying or something emotional to help make the player feel bad and for their position to be given away. Don't make bandits look bad ass/rough either that will just reward the players to do that more.
