    Idea for factory roofs

http://i.imgur.com/KsIbVE6.jpg http://i.imgur.com/YwbOEVc.jpg I think that it would be awesome if the roof tops in standalone had HVAC units, gas/steam piping, and other various obstacles. It would offer a chance to flank a snipers, and an area for intense close quarter combat. Like in the pictures above, you would never know if you flanking or being flanking in that hot mess. You'd have to move very Consciously, creating a lot of OH SHIT moments when someone pops up face to face in front of you.

    DayZ map set in USA?

Upstate New York, it is a lot like West Chernarus. Some small towns, a lot of mountains and forests, and not too hard to wonder past other people's tents.

    Notches and ears.

Working off the concept of weapons being treated as individual items, I think that it would be cool if you could pick up a weapon, inspect it, and see that it has details such as a name carved into or notches for every person that past owners have killed with that weapon. As for a ligament system for earning the notches in the first place could be done by adding two ways of confirming kills; confirming the kill with binoculars, or if you get up close and personal to confirm your kill. For an additive bonus for those who are able to confirm their kills up close, they can take the ear off their victims body. The removal of an ear could be trophies to show you killed a someone like a notorious bandit, or for the notorious bandit, he could have a necklace of ears from the those he has pillaged.

    Your opinion is appreciated

    Notches and ears.

That would be fine lol. I just thought that it would nice to have a visual (symbols of some sort) on players, or their weapons, that would show someones history, what type of player they were. I know that the pen and pad is meant for this but the more details a game has the better, right? Also adds type of customization of character visual.

    Worn paths in the world

This is just a small idea, I don't know if it has been visited yet, but I think that it would be a nice little addition to the game to add worn paths where people usually walk/run along, seeing as roads are no place to be walking in this game. Sort of like deer runways, there would be worn down, dirty paths, broken branches, matted down grass, ect. These would be unique to the server, showing where people usually trot their usual path of least resistant to their favorite loot spots, sniping spot, or where a player’s tent is set up that is frequently visited. This would show that other players have been about and actually do live in the same world as you, as well as make setting up camps (tents) or terrain-based sniper positions need to be a more transient, temporary thing.

    Worn paths in the world

If you want to sprinkle leaves and twigs on your trail to cover your tracks, exposing yourself in the middle of the woods, that’s fine by me. However, if being secretive is your goal, I’d suggest that you just pack up camp and stay mobile. The whole idea of having a safe safer stash would come into play if/when bases are implemented. As time passes it would make sense for paths to fade. In that case, you could have more than one camp to visit around the map, letting paths to your other camps get overgrown, allowing you to keep your stashes right where you want them.

    Well whats left to do?

Telling people to wait and be patient these days is like telling water to stop being wet, or the earth to stop spinning ,or bushes to not be bushy.

    New Weapons/Items Suggestions

    Blue Force Tracker! http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/Blue_Force_Tracker
  11. I like it! I used to play World War II Online....Spend sooooo much time trying to get to the city that your country was trying to take, low crawl through the bushes and try to be sneaky, and after all that effort you get popped. Spawn, and try again!
  12. A vendetta attitude maybe, but obviously no one wants to see something like sore loser, using exploits, to seek revenge. However, if you are asking if someone had a bad blood from a run in with a player or their whole group and they wanted to seek revenge and raid their camps or hunt them all down and kill them in a LEGITIMATE fashion...then yes, that is exactly what I want. Feuds, revenge, clan skirmishes. If you know there is a larger group out there that has great supplies and you want to raid them instead of earning all that on your own, sounds great to me! If a group of bandits came across one of your friends and robbed them and killed them, that also sounds great. It is these stories and emotions that make this game so great, exciting, and appealing.
  13. Haha I get you brother, it's a tough call!
  14. For this item to work, it would need to be group operated. And we had them in every vehicle when I was over in Iraq, so around military bases, vehicles, or zombie soldiers, there could be one waiting. I do agree though, just objects alone can't solve the problem, though they can encourage effects and results. It is just in my opinion that I would like to see the game stay realistic in terms of rewards being offered by spawn advantages (meaning extra items, placements, availability of your buddies). I respect everyones view of the game, I would still play if there were advantages such as extra goodies for those who were well behaved were implemented. Truth be told, I don't know what anyone could do for some tween all boned up for COD and play just to kill for kicks. But in a "real" post-apocalyptical world there is a psycho out there mass killing for fun what can you do? Avoid them or band together to execute the threat.
  15. A Blue Force Tracker can be vehicle mounted or a battery operated handheld. They are an updated gps map that shows where other friendlies are (by way point set by an operator or by tracking another unit) The whole point on this being implemented would be a group would need them to communicate with one another and update waypoints that are hot areas. Also, if your group wanted to operate with another, you and allow them to be on your BFT (as another color) and you can share there data on camps they have recon and recent hotspots they had encountered. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Force_Tracking
  16. I think that realistic perks and discouraging consequences would help. Like if you are a good natured person people will trade with you, help you, and maybe consider covering you through an area such as a city. As for discouraging consequences, someone had posted earlier today implementing objects like birds that will fly when someone has shot, giving away the shooter's position or the lack of them on a high building would indicate someones up there. This would allow counter snipers or other people near by to know that where someone was located, making them an available target. Also, make a frequent murderer branded as such in some obvious way and they will not see so much trade or friendly gestures, so when they fire away and give away their location, they can die and have to suffer rebuilding in a world that will not be so kind to them. Another idea, maybe farfetched, cities should be considered an area to explore by well geared people. That being said, maybe there could be some way for players to have (advanced gear) laptops or some military mapping device like a Blue Force Tracker. These would update the map so players can see what areas are "hot": where recent people have died, shots fired, ect. This would, maybe, show areas for players to avoid when seeking supplies, or even point to others where someone is camping and sniping so they can be flanked and taken care of.
  17. Negative. What I gathered was you saying that those who are humane get to start with friends and supplies while those who are playing the opposing side of the game have to start alone and with no extra supplies.....LOL.
  18. Why should people who play one way be rewarded, while others while other, who are playing the nonlinear game their own style get shafted? The game needs people who do evil! This creates that unknowing tension of travel and interaction with other players, what makes the game so exciting. Also, the cases of solo snipers, I doubt they care if they start alone and I doubt they care if others start with more gear, more for them to loot the next time you get pinged!

    Bird flocks

    I like it! +1
  20. You have to get into the game, feel the pressure of life or death. If you are moving to an objective, bound from cover to cover, making sure that you are more often concealed than out in the open. Know the difference of cover in the fact that there is concealing cover, cover that will hide you but not stop any incoming rounds, and hard cover, which will protect you from small arms fire. While behind your cover plot your next move, scan ahead to see if any threats are out there. TAKE YOUR TIME make sure there is somewhere to take cover while bounding if you see anyone or get fired upon. Mad dashes out in the open are too risky, especially around cities where you know where enemy fire may come from, be a slithery snake and hug that cover and stay hidden. If you know of any snipers delights out there watch them flank around those points to see if there is a bird in that nest. Mostly, do not go to heavily "PvP" areas alone, you should always have a battle buddy! As for a suggestion that would take care of someone is out there mass murdering, maybe there can be a bounty hunter service? Maybe contact a group of, justice enforcing, humane survivors, who do not take a liking to bandit and get their jolly's off by hunting down menacing players. Tactfully the team will enter (the city in your case) and eradicate. But there, there would have to be some sort of pay off system implemented for that as well. The fact of the matter is this is a social sandbox game. You are free to run around and do as you please. Unite with those in common interest or lay low, because a loner in a survival situation is not fit run around like John J. Rambo. It is a war zone brother, you got to do what you gotta do.
