Having seen the recent updates on tumblr, I think the image of Ivan on the rock should be recreated in the updated Chernarus map as a little easter egg. That would be cool Just a little idea

There are many spots for heli crash sites at Vybor and that is where i find them the most. So check in there before going to the NW Airfield and maybe you could get some ammo if not a better gun.

You should NOT spawn with a weapon. This mod is built around being a difficult zombie survival mod and I believe that it should be even more difficult. Military weapons should spawn much less. I loved being a scrub on the coast in early June with everyone running around the coast with enfields and winchesters.
