I agree. Hopefully looting is tweaked so that if it isnt visible then it doesnt show up when you search. So if you want to access any beans that may be under a bed you have to crouch down and see them first. How this can be done is up to those programming wizards with all their voodoo magic.

I still think instanced bases is the worst thing you could do to Dayz.

The Dead Linger, though still heavilly in alpha, has a simple barricading system where items are just moved and put up against doors, windows etc. Not sure how this would go in DayZ though. -
Chernarus for sure, though i like Taviana and a bit of Lingor every now and then.

Getting hit by a raving lunatic could have a chance of breaking bones and knocking you out i suppose. Depends where they hit you. In game there is a percentage chance of getting the Mike Tyson punch. Get hit enough times and eventually one is going to land. Its the same as bleeding. the chance is always there. -
It would be nice to have a few hardcore servers. Just as an example, of the 6548 responsive servers shown on DayZ Commander only 72 were 1st person only and 49 had both 1st person and no nameplates.

Very nice. Because of the way DayZ is i would imagine you need your actual hands to do these things rather than use an icon.

Anyone played the Single Player "mod" of DayZ on Arma 3 (or Arma 2)? This is what the game would be like without the threat of PvP - immensely boring and tbh, pointless. For me, the best and most intense feeling you get out of DayZ is that tension and sense of expectation that you could be taken out or end up in a firefight at any moment. Without that feeling of being on edge all the time the game is not the same. Sure it pisses me off to be shot when i am unarmed but i get over it pretty quickly. I do wish however that supposed bandits tried to be a bit more imaginative that just KOS. Hold me up, rob me, make me dance or use me as zombie bait....it will turn out a bit more fun for everyone involved. -

Humanity is a WIP, i dont think it is working as intended (whatever that may be) Being punished for defending a friend doesn't seem right, in fact it should increase your humanity if anything. But then you will get bandit groups gaining unwanted humanity for helping each other out. I don't like humanity tbh (gee, that didn't come out right!). Give players the option to wear whatever clothing they like and be done with it - i would like to wear the bandit skin but i am no bandit. Perhaps the idea to give murderers a different stance or a different way of holding their gun is good enough, but make it subtle.

I would hope that instanced bases aren't "safe zones" where you and your clan can store stuff and hideout in relative safety. If this is the case then i want no part of them. I want to be able to find a hatch, enter it and completely loot or satchel charge it if i want. But then the problem could eventually arise where there are hatches everywhere. I am very interested into how the Devs hope to solve these issues. -

But what happens when the world gets over populated with surface structures and bases? I think this was the main concern for the Devs. I don't have a problem with instanced bases just as long as anyone can find them and potentially rob/destroy them. I also am not a fan of anything too high tech. -
I like the idea of being able to set a trap that delivers a disease. I remember seeing a doco once about how they used to fire plague victims over walls during sieges in the Middle Ages (i assume the plague victims were dead!) So for anyone that opens my tent a balloon full of rancid zombie guts and shit falls on their head.

I assume a lot of people are in your position (like me). I have never had the time to play for hours on end but it shouldnt mean you cant accomplish whatever you set out to do. It just might take longer. -

I honestly dont like any grouping highlighting system at all. If you want to form a clan or group that is fine, you just have to remember what everyone looks like as IRL. Friendly fire is a risk everyone has to watch for and floating icons just makes it easier for groups. In the heat of battle you may well shoot your friend. I think having an AI bot when we log out could lead to a lot of random bots shooting at players (after all who would choose the sleeping option, if there is an option to guard?) and could totally overload a server. -

Since DayZ is a game and is for our entertainment how about some "Hollywood" style additions to the mod/standalone? Some suggestions: - Vehicles explode when hitting an inanimate object (except boxes/water containers below) - Empty boxes / filled water containers strewn across the road so we can hit them whilst in a high speed chase - One shot to a fuel tank causes a massive explosion - Jerry cans can be used to leave a trail of petrol which can be lit with matches or a flare. Witty one liner compulsory when lighting the fuel. - Locked doors can be opened with one shot from a gun (you have to wince and look away when making the shot) - If another player bandages you, romantic music starts to play and you have an option for a steamy love scene - Bandits always miss the Hero, the Hero always kills the bandits with one shot. - Helicopters can be brought down with one shot of a Makarov through the windscreen - Guns jam at the most inopportune time - Your last shot will ALWAYS kill a zombie or player Any others? I am sure Rocket will watch this thread with avid interest and put as many of these suggestions in game.

I think that this could be done for "special events". A server is set up, a call put out, 50 players start, no respawning allowed once you die and the last man standing wins.
