So let me get this straight. I approach a tent. I have a Hunting Knife. I see the tent is padlocked. I do not have the key so i cannot loot it? I like the idea of being able to hide a stash but lock a tent? No.

Dayz Standalone - Time Period Difficulties

I don't think the OP is suggesting servers are on timers only that servers are either Easy, Normal and Hard. So if you play on a Hard server it is the equivalent of being 20 years after infection. You play on an Easy one it is equivalent to one week after Infection. I kinda, sort of, possibly like what you are suggesting apart from the NPC's. I don't know how much fun a sever with nothing on it would be though. -

What sort of challenges/events are you talking about? And to each his own - PvE servers have their place as well. I too like the constant threat of PvP in the air but dont begrudge people playing how they want. How many times have we heard that from KOS players? Perhaps once Standalone hits and the zombies are much, much more of a threat then true PvE can take place. -
Being an old fart - i remember the Atari 2600 in the 1980's with pixelated graphics and 128 bytes of RAM. If you had told me back then what computer games would be like in 30 years i would have laughed and said it wouldnt be possible. Realistic graphics? 225 km sq map to wander? Playing with and against people around the world? Pfft. Impossible. It may seem an impossibilty to us right now but believe me in 30 years gaming will be unrecognisable to what it is now. I fully expect to be wandering a Chernarus Matrix.

Will Sniper Rifles be nerfed in the standalone?

I am no expert on guns but isnt a sniper rifle supposed to kill someone with one shot - isnt that their purpose? The question here should be "Are sniper rifles going to be harder to shoot in SA?" I am all for making sniper shots much more difficult, not only with bullet drop but wind factors as well. But i dont believe they should be nerfed. -

The only advice i can give is what i have experienced by some bandits i have come across. If you shoot at someone but don't kill them and happen to get returning fire don't run off screaming like a little girl. Man up and take it. -
Though i did sometimes play Lingor and Taviana I always came back to Chernarus.

Anyone played Medieval Chivalry(?) - i think the devs are taking some inspiration from that. I really hope for many more melee items and like you said military grade weapons are a little rarer.

You have mentioned the unmentionable! You admit to Combat Logging! Your sentence - ridicule. Seriously(!) like others have said there isn't any justification for logging out in Combat and you just have to be careful where you log out when finishing up your session. When i first started playing DayZ eons ago i remember foolishly logging out for the night in the NWAF barracks. Was i really surprised when logging back in the next day i copped a face full of bullets and died within seconds? No i was just stupid. -
Backpack solution for big items?

Do what i have seen professional sportsmen do in their pre season training. Tie a rope around the waist (or backpack) and drag 1-2 tyres behind them. Similar to this: -
I was just on for about 30 mins before getting kicked. Black box error (i have put on Skype) Found an Infected Camp with loot but no zeds!
