The hatchet is definitely your new best friend. I even left a Winnie, Enfield and an M16 behind because i figured the hatchet was my best option at the time. -

These posts annoy me and look i hate to be blunt but.... You obviously don't know how to play the game. Last night i had a quick play so I ran around Berezino with a hatchet for 45 mins (i found plenty of guns too). No infection, no knockdowns, aggro lost in buildings, 25 zombie kills. Didn't find any antibiotics but i don't need them yet. The trick is to avoid or kill them. Fancy that in a zombie apocalypse!

You have a server where the zombies don't run? Why bother with zombies then? They would be completely pointless if they cant even chase you? How does it work if the threat of zombies is even lower that the running ones of the mod? Are there hundreds more? -

In regards to getting infected, the one thing i don't agree with is the speed which it happens. Infections don't normally occur straight away, it can take hours even days for infection to get to the stage where you get really sick. How long does it actually take to die when you are sick in game? Maybe we need a few more items with which to fight infection. Maybe you can clean (with clean water) and bandage regularly thus holding the infection at bay? Chicken soup also cures all. New crafting recipe. Chicken meat + water + tin can + fire = cure for cancer.

I dunno, if you come into DayZ with a KOS mentality then i really think you are missing out on some interesting gameplay. I'm not going to say they are wrong but for me i don't see the point. Many a time i have had players in my sights and refrained from shooting. It's backfired on me a few times. I would love to come across more bandits who act like bandits - rob me, kidnap me, tell me to drop my weapon, maybe even break my legs - its much more interesting than being shot at from someone for no apparent reason. -
I believe you can use them to "Turn" the zombies. Like a cleric from Baldur's Gate. Try it - it's true.

I am sure they could implement this in the crafting system. You find a bike jacket and later on a badge. Craft them together and the jacket gets that particular look. Same with paints and dyes. Interesting idea -

Oh no. Are servers heading down the same path as the vehicles? AUSGroover1: 1.7.7/Spawn with DMR/100,000 vehicles/Hospitals spawn 1000 antibiotics!/

I dunno but if a sprinting psychopath hit me i would probably fall over a lot. Perhaps the chances of knockdown are a tad too high but anything to make the zeds a bigger threat is fine with me. -

In regards to vehicles, i personally have never really bothered with them, with the exception of the bicycle. I have never had much patience to fix one up but i can really see how some players and groups want them in asap. And to be honest hearing a vehicle or chopper heading your way is one of those classic DayZ moments. -

You know nothing John Snow. Sorry had to say it. I actually like the fact that zombies are now to be avoided at all costs due to the increased infection chance/lack of antibiotics. Someone offered me an M4 for some antibiotics. They are the new currency.

As far as the looting goes if the loot isn't visible to you it wont show up. If you want to loot stuff under a bed you have to bend down/lie down to find it. Having the Inventory constantly open while you move around shouldn't happen though i agree. Hopefully this changes. The shooting doesn't appear to be too different from Arma 2 - it is using essentially the same engine. It is far from being CoD. -

I honestly don't think it will be a few months. Every other time he or Matt have been asked they have said very soon. Like he said, some people may not want to get in on the ground level, the alpha release. It may be better if they wait until some of these terrible bugs people are complaining about are ironed out. Or you could join the initial alpha team and do what alpha testers are supposed to do - give constructive, honest feedback. Saying "The animations look shit", "The mod looks better" or "Game is bad" is not constructive or helpful. And could we restrain from the Fanboi namecalling BS and namecalling in general - i haven't been in a school yard for many years and it is starting to get on my tits. -

Cmon, having a go at someone who might not be a native English speaker is a bit low. And remember this is a Czech game. And despite some posters insistence that we don't like or allow criticism of the game everyone can have an opinion just as long as it is done in the right manner.
