DayZ Standalone - What would happen if zombies are deadly?

A bit defeatist don't you think? Making the zombies slightly faster than you would prevent straight out running away. Twisting and turning, running through buildings and around corners, through thick trees will probably still lose the aggro eventually. I don't think Rocket is going to create zombies that cant be lost. But i think we all agree that zombies need to be a threat. It is a shame that in the mod players just run through towns completely oblivious to zombies chasing them because they can be lost or killed indoors so easily. I actually do think a more serious zombie threat will make players a bit more cautious and more open to be friendly. Perhaps not initially as players use their mod tactics in the Standalone, but i don't think these tried and trusted tactics will work too well after a while - new tactics and strategy will be born. I don't actually think that an individual zombie has to necessarily be harder either, but the greater numbers, better pathfinding and (hopefully) more limited ammo will make them a bit more of a threat than an annoyance. -

The hatchet is the perfect zombie killer and with the way the mod is you just have to run inside a building and one shot zombies to the head to kill them. It isn't hard - the only time you should be getting hit is when you are fighting a load of them outside. And that is never advised. How will everyone react when the Standalone hits and we then have a shit tonne more zombies running indoors?

Some of the art assets in the SA are of generic brands and not the ones we see in the mod. A lot of the art assets are completely new because they don't exist in the mod. I understand you like to be the devil's advocate (and we do need a few around here) but c'mon you are stretching it a bit now.

Hmmm you actually got me interested to see what guns Australian police carry. According to the great Gooogle search Queensland state police carry Glock 22's. Which is funny because the guns i see police carry don't look much like Glocks. But then again i don't know too much about guns. My knowledge comes from DayZ. Anyway...

Hopefully we can take parts from cars so removing the battery etc would work wonders. I also find satchel charges are great for sabotaging vehicles.

I hunt my meat from a place called the supermarket. As far as hunting in Standalone goes it would be great if animals actually recognised you were there and perhaps ran off. Why is it only the rabbit seems to know what's coming?

Level 1 bandit housing plans?? What is this - a government project for people who cant shoot others? Sounds very lame, but to each their own. Sorry, back on topic - better bandit eh? 95% of "bandits" just shoot people - not really much banditry involved tbh. If you want to be actually be a better bandit get yourself a gimmick. In Standalone i plan on becoming the gas mask wearing underpants bandit. I will rob all jeans from players and make them run pantless through the countryside while i take pot shots at them. If they make it to the treeline they live, if not, oh well. -
My advice is just jump in and learn everything yourself. It is much more fun than getting loot maps (which wont work in Standalone anyway) and watching half-rigged YouTube videos. The best moments of the mod were when i didn't have a clue and i ran around screaming and panicking.....ah the good old days. Best advice i can give though is get a hatchet and use it on zombies.

Well according to Generalisimo Melchett no one cares for the Standalone anymore so i would expect a nice quiet release with about 14 people buying alpha access.

You know i am all for realism but one thing that i never like in games is a stamina bar for running...especially if it makes you run too slow. The one thing i never want to play in a game is myself. I wouldn't last 100m running from a zombie. -
