  1. I am actually disappointed when there isn't a camping sniper on Elektro Hill. If you can spot them from a distance hiding in their little pine tree hidey hole it can be very rewarding to loop around them and put an axe in their skull. I am surprised at the number of "snipers" who never check their backs. It must be a very boring gamestyle though to just sit there for hours.

    Miami Z

    Will move to Private Hives
  3. Hmmm...just by actually reading the post you can learn about... "Been working on player unarmed melee" "Use of medical items and writing labels on items with a pen" "Different restraints (cuffs, zipties, ropes) take different times" "blood collection and basic melee!" Don't know what post you were reading.
  4. Good point. 5% done then?
  5. Zombies are not 50% done - they are 0% done - music to my ears.
  6. I don' think there is anything that can be done to stop certain players KoS. Even if the new SA mechanics make loot rarer and the zombies more numerous and difficult to lose there will still be players who just want to KoS. If you give someone a gun they are going to eventually want to shoot someone with it. Ideally i'd like every bullet to count. If you want to shoot someone, fine and dandy, but make the choice a more difficult one - someone who is borderline KoS might not risk their last dozen bullets on a player who is unarmed or just carrying a pistol if finding ammo is more difficult. Ammo wouldn't have to be ultra rare but i think it will be harder to come by in the SA. I don't think you will just be able to visit the old faithful loot locations of the mod, you will have to scavenge and explore a bit more.

Quick pic of a dayz legend

Last time i saw him he was mauled from behind by a zombie. (kinky) Must have killed it bare-handed. Legend.

I'm not a bandit and have never shot an unarmed player, but if i see fools jumping around like WoW then i will feel perfectly justified in shooting them.

Yeah i suppose the gun would still fire but how would the accuracy be? What kind of different buttstocks are there for certain guns?

So guys, what does everyone think of the weapon attachments? This was one of the big things Rocket was trying to show off i think. Bayonet, scopes, handguards, buttstocks, flashlights and silencers all removable. The M4 really does look awesome up close and personal. One thing i am interested in, is finding a gun that is completely bare (ie: no attachments at all, not even a handguard or buttstock). How will that fire?

    PLEASE ROCKET OIL RIGS!!!

Anyone see the documentary Life After People? It was simply about what would happen to our world if we just disappeared. This is what they had to say about oil rigs: "3 days after people, Almost 4000 oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico continue to pump out oil. They have been running on their own power since humans disappeared but without any consumption the oil rigs shut down. 34,000 miles of undersea pipes clog with undelivered oil but watertight valves will keep the oil from leaking into the ocean. 50 years after people, Five decades of hurricanes have reduced the nearly 4000 oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico to one. The last oil rig is finally knocked over by a large wave. 110 years after people, The sunken oil rigs have become new ecosystems. They have become artificial reefs teeming with life."

Perhaps number these Smash and then everyone else who posts just has to give a number instead of typing it out?

I thought it was pretty good. A very arty opening piece with some macho men strolling around. And Fraggle being submissive - what more could you ask for?

    Where are all the devblogs?

Wow, so inciteful. With your total of 45 posts by my reckoning you post once every 5.5 days, so hopefully you can shed some more of your wisdom next Tuesday.

DayZ Machinima - Infection: Z First Episode RELEASED!

Nice work. One thing though. Was Oscar supposed to be Irish or half Scottish-Jamaican?

Some thoughts on gameplay in the Standalone.

Humanity s a tough one and you are right - we all have an intuition when we come across bad eggs - however as Jaxc so eloquently put, it bandits can get around this system by blood bagging each other. So in reality the worst, group orientated bandits might in fact come across as heroes. I honestly don't know how Rocket is going to implement a humanity system, if at all, but it will be an interesting one. I'm not too sure if your concurrent coop suggestion is doable with the engine, apart from the fact it alienates Lone Wolves. I want my log cabin in the woods (or at least a hole in the ground) Skills....not sure. I am against any sort of levelling in DayZ as there are enough games that do that. Night/Day cycles - yep i agree they could be shorter and i really can't stand the 24/7 daylight servers but they are very common. I once found some NVGs at a crash site on a 24/7 daylight server and lost the plot and abused the admins on Side Chat. Nice one.

To anyone who sees this post

Hey there c'mon now, no need to get all drastic. It could be said (by me) that Origins is for nancies who want to lock up their loot so no one can touch it.

    Should I settle down?

You could hunt down Ming the Merciless. I am sure there would be one somewhere on a server. I once bumped into a player called T-1000 - he asked me if i knew where John Connor was.
